Oral Karma. In the Mahayana sutras, the Buddha said that the three karmas are all about body, speech, and mind, but in this sutra, the Buddha said that it is mouth, body, and mind. Putting oral karma first has a special meaning. Why? Because oral karma is very easy to commit. Therefore, there are four oral karma, while there are only three physical karma, and there are also three mental karma, but there are four oral karma. Because oral karma is very easy to commit, those who study Buddhism, those who recite Buddha's name, all the merits of reciting come from their mouths, but if they still cannot be tolerant, cannot be patient, and like to criticize, then even if they recite Buddha's name for their entire life, they still cannot be reborn. We recite Buddha's name on one hand, but the other hand is lost, because we create oral karma. Therefore, the Buddha put oral karma first, to especially admonish those who recite Buddha's name, because this is a special quick path, a quick path to Buddhahood. Of the ten good deeds, this is more important than anything else. “Be skillful in guarding your mouth, do not speak ill of others,” which means not lying, not speaking two-facedly, not exaggerating, not speaking harshly, you must keep that. Why can you create karma? Of course, mental karma is the master, when you have an unwholesome thought, the mental karma is greed, anger, ignorance, selfishness, and self-interest. When the five poisons of greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt are complete, it is very easy to have an unwholesome thought, very naturally all are thoughts of harming others and benefiting yourself, then it is a failure, then you create karma of the three evil paths. You yourself do not know, so you intentionally or unintentionally create it every day, do not accumulate merit, the time to recite Buddha’s name is short, the time to create karma is long, the strength to recite Buddha’s name is weak, the power to create evil is strong, so how can you leave the three evil paths? The words you say are a bit harsh, how can you leave hell? You are all creating hellish karma. Do you understand the sutras? No, why? The variable of listening is not enough. Why is it not enough? It is because we use a scattered mind to listen, use a scattered mind to recite Buddha's name, so listening to sutras and reciting Buddha's name are not effective. Enemies and creditors come to take revenge, they do not let you be comfortable, both body and mind suffer. The body is sick, the mind is troubled, worried, frustrated, the body and mind are not at peace. All are enemies and creditors coming, without enemies and creditors, how could this happen? These small things often happen in daily life, it seems like we can't escape them every day. We don't find the cause, think that our body is not well, find a doctor to check, no problem, very normal, find a psychologist is also not a problem. If you don't study Buddhism, you won't understand, when you study Buddhism then you will understand. In the dojo, in the lecture hall, in the Buddha Recitation Hall, we see how many people reciting Buddha's name, listening to sutras, their spirits are down and not excited, how do we see them? Tired, showing that they are very miserable, they are not comfortable, their spirit is not upbeat, they are all creditors. We understand the truth, observe in daily life, you will find the answer, those who have many creditors, they live very tired, very miserable lives; those who have fewer creditors, they will be very light, very active, cannot be mistaken. Creating karma of slander", this is towards yourself, not towards others. You yourself often have karma of mouth, that is, sowing seeds of slandering others, or others slander you. The result of karma, you have to bear it yourself, it does not come naturally. After death, you fall into hell", hell here, is what was told to you in the previous section, Tongue-cutting hell. Think of the suffering of hell, think of the suffering of tongue-cutting, do not create karma of mouth anymore.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN ZEN BUDDHIST MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.4/7/2024.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.
