Who is Venerable Sariputta who is considered the First Wisdom. Sariputra, who has outstanding intelligence and intelligence from his mother's womb, since he was a child, has had many lectures, mature and profound words that many people admire. After the Buddha's enlightenment, Sariputra and his close friend Moggallana (sa. mahāmaudgalyāyana, pi. mahāmoggallāna) joined the Sangha and took the title of "First Wisdom". About Venerable Sariputta, I believe everyone is very familiar with this Venerable, because he has a predestined passage that makes people unable to forget. The uncle of Venerable Sariputta, named Ma Ha Cau Hy La, often argued with his sister (named Thu); and every time such an argument, the sister is always the loser, and the Mahakau Hyla is always the winner; But after the sister became pregnant, a strange thing happened. What's strange? Now, every time he and his sister argued, he always lost, while the sister always won. Thus, Mahakau Hyla knew, “Oh! My sister wasn't that smart before, but now she's smart like that; The child in your belly is definitely a wise person, he came to help his mother argue.” Venerable Sariputra is one of the 10 great disciples of Buddha. He was wiser than humans since he was a fetus. Then he thought, “Oh! Now I have to study bravery! If I don't study well, in the future after this grandchild is born, I will become an uncle, a senior, and argue against my grandson, it will be a shame, a shame!" So he went to South India to study the Dharma. Can you tell me how he studied? He read books, studied Dharma day and night, studied so much that his hair was not cut, his beard was not shaved, Nails that grow to an inch long are not cut. Why not cut? Not that he intentionally did not cut! Here, I am not talking about the common phenomenon of young people today, who also have long hair, long beards, are not neat and tidy, nor are they well educated. He was different from these young men because he did not have time to take care of himself, even cutting his nails; What are you busy with? Busy studying—studying day and night! You see, this is really the use of learning! Because of school, I put aside all other work, no time to cut nails, no time to shave, cut hair ...; That's why everyone called him "Truong Giai Pham Chi" (the Pham Chi with long nails). Just like that, he mastered all the scholarly arguments of South India such as medicine, divination, astrology. Returning home, he immediately went to see his sister; meeting her, he asked: "Where did my nephew go?" She replied: "Your grandson has already gone forth to follow the Buddha!" As soon as he heard that his nephew had left home to follow the Buddha, he immediately started to think of himself as conceited, thinking: "Oh! My grandson was only eight years old when he was able to publish in the lecture hall, the fame of the Five Heavens resounded, all the five great countries in India were shaken, and all the hundreds of commentators were defeated at his hands! Such a smart child, how can he go forth as a monk? Pity!" He had such an arrogant mind, so he wanted to go to the Buddha, he thought: "Let's go and see if this ascetic has any skills that can deceive such intelligent grandson as his disciple?" Arriving there, meeting the Buddha, he immediately wanted to bring all methods to attack the Buddha, but could not think of a way! Having studied for ten years, my nails don't even bother to cut, intending to return will argue with his grandson, but when he returned there was no land to use martial arts, his grandson left home to follow the Buddha. Now that I've met the Buddha, I don't know what kind of book I should use to argue against the Buddha; After thinking about it, he finally came up with a way to form a sect with only Buddha. Buddha asked him: "What do you take as your religion?" He replied, "I take 'no life' (not receiving) as my religion." "Real life" means that no matter what he preaches, I do not accept; Whatever he says, I don't care; I will not accept His doctrine, let's see what He has to do, He says! Buddha said: "Okay! You take 'non-life' as your school, then will you accept your understanding of 'taking no life as your school'?" The Buddha asked such a question, making him speechless and unable to answer. If it is said "accept one's own interpretation", this is "life"; If you say "don't accept your opinion", then there will be no tone at all! He said "take no life as the school", this is "view", is his knowledge. If you say "no life" (don't admit it), the more you contradict yourself, proving that what you say has no morals, like planting a tree but no root! If we say "longevity" (acknowledge) one's own view, then this principle is fundamentally untenable. Before arguing, he made a bet with Buddha that: “If I lose my argument, I will cut off my head and give it to him; If you lose, you must return my grandchild to me." However, this time he lost the shackles, he thought: "If the head is cut off, it's considered the end of life, how can that be?" Thinking so, he ran away. After running about 5-6 miles, he thought to himself: “Whoa! I am a gentleman, a great man, How can you speak without keeping your word? I said that if I lost my argument, I would cut off my own head; Now I'm running away, how is that possible? Who da! You have to go back and cut off your head like you promised!” He thought so, immediately ran back, told the Buddha to lend the knife: "Please lend me the knife!" (the precepts of the monks used in the past). Buddha asked, "What do you need a knife for?" He replied, "I have set the conditions for this argument with you, now that I have lost, I must cut off my head and give it to you!" The Buddha said, "There is no such method in the Buddha's teaching! If you lose, consider it done, must you cut off your head?" So the Buddha preached to him; As soon as he heard it, he immediately obtained the pure Dharma eye on the spot and opened the Dharma eye. As soon as the eyes of the Dharma were opened, he knew the profound and wonderful Buddha Dharma: "It turns out that the non-Buddhist Dharma that I have studied for so many years is not equal to one ten thousandth of the Buddha Dharma!" Therefore, he not only did not bring his nephew back, but he also left home to follow the Buddha. Shariputra's uncle had such a special predestined relationship, so I believe everyone knows Venerable Sariputta. Sariputra is Sanskrit, Chinese translates as "thus death"; It is also known as "Chau Tu" or "King's son". Why is it called "Autumn Death"? Because the eyes of the venerable mother's eyes are like those of the bird Thu Lo, extremely beautiful, so it is called "Autumn". The word "Fat" in Sariputra is the word "death" (son); so "Sariputra" means "Thu Lo chi son" (son of Thu Lo). Why is it called "Chau Tu"? "Chau" is the name of the Venerable's mother, because the Reverend's mother's eyes are like pearls, so she is also called "Chau Tu". Why is it called "Kingdom"? It is because the Venerable is a child made up of a part of the mother's body. The wisdom of Venerable Sariputta stands at the top, his divine powers are also extremely generous. That is not to say that he is first in wisdom and second in supernatural powers, not so. How then? Once, Ma Ha Muc Kien Lien and the false venerated divine powers; How do you do magic? Wherever Shakyamuni Buddha went to preach the Dharma, all his disciples had to follow in order to hear the Dharma. Why? Because if you do not follow to listen, you will not be able to listen to the Dharma that the Buddha has taught in the future; Because at that time there was no tape recorder like now, you can record the Buddha's sermon, so that if you don't attend this time, you can save it to listen to it later. There was no such method at that time. so the disciples of the Buddha must follow to listen to the Dharma; Only once, Sariputra was in samadhi, so he did not follow. Ma Ha Muc Kien Lien said: “Okay! If the Venerable does not come out of samadhi, I will use my supernatural powers to make him come out of samadhi!" Venerable Muc Kien Lien displayed all his supernatural powers, wanting to pull Venerable Sariputta to his feet, but not only could he not pull Sariputta, but even the cross of Venerable's shirt did not move. You tell me, how generous the divine powers of Venerable Sariputta are! Venerable Muc Kien Lien was originally the first miracle, but when the two "battled the Dharma" with each other, Muc Kien Lien could not overcome Sariputra, which is enough to see that the miracle of Venerable Sariputta is really great. grand!
