Now, Sāriputta, you are mostly dwelling with the abiding of the Great Being. O Sāriputta, the abiding of the Great Being is emptiness. Therefore, Sāriputta, if a bhikkhu wishes: 'May I now mostly abide with emptiness abiding,' At this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should reflect as follows: "On the way I went to the village for alms, at the residence I went for alms, and on the way back from my village begging for alms, In that place, with regard to the forms cognizable by the eye, does there arise in one's desire, greed, anger, delusion, or hatred?" Sāriputta, if a bhikkhu knows after reflection: "On the way I went to the village for alms, in my residence I went for alms, and on the way back from the village I went for alms, for Forms cognizable by the eye arise in one's desire, greed, anger, delusion or hatred," at this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should strive to end these evil unwholesome states. I return for alms, with respect to sounds cognizable by the ear, ... with respect to odors cognisable by the nose. , ... for tastes cognizable by the tongue, ... for contacts cognizable by the body, ... for dharmas cognizable by the mind, there arise in us lust, greed, anger, delusion, or hatred." If, Sāriputta, while contemplating, a bhikkhu is known thus: 'I have not eliminated the five hindrances', at this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu must exert himself to eliminate the five hindrances. But if, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, while contemplating, is known as follows: 'I have abandoned the five hindrances', at this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should abide with joy and delight in training day and night in the monasteries. benevolent law. Again, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu should reflect thus: "Have I developed the four foundations of mindfulness?" Sāriputta, if, while contemplating, a bhikkhu is told, 'I have not developed the four foundations of mindfulness,' at this time, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu should diligently practice the four foundations of mindfulness. But if, Sāriputta, while contemplating, a bhikkhu is known as follows: 'I have developed the four foundations of mindfulness,' then at this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should dwell with joy and delight in training day and night. in good deeds. Again, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu should reflect: “Have I practiced the four right efforts? “… “Have I practiced the four like-mindedness yet?” … “Have I practiced the five senses?” … “Have I practiced the five powers?” … “Have I practiced the seven factors of enlightenment?” ... If, in contemplation, a bhikkhu, Sāriputta, is known as: 'I have not practiced the Noble Eightfold Path,' at this time Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should diligently practice the Noble Eightfold Path. But if, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, while contemplating, is known as follows: 'I have practiced the Noble Eightfold Path,' then at this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should dwell in joy and delight in training day and night. in good deeds. Again, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu should reflect: 'Have I developed samadhi and contemplation? "If, bhikkhu, Sāriputta, while contemplating, it is known as follows: 'I have not developed samadhi and contemplation', At this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should diligently practice Chi and Contemplation. But if, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu, while contemplating, is known as follows: 'I have practiced samadhi and contemplation', at this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should dwell with joy and delight day and night. study in the virtues. But if, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, while contemplating, is known as follows: 'I have realized enlightenment and liberated', at this time, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should dwell with joy and joy in his studies day and night. in good deeds. Hey Sāriputta, those recluses or brahmins of the past who had purified begging for alms, all of them had purified begging for alms by contemplating in this way. Sāriputta, those recluses or brahmins who will purify alms in the future, all of them will purify alms, by contemplating, reflecting as so. And, Sāriputta, those ascetics and brahmins of the present time, who have purified alms for alms, all have purified alms by contemplation, contemplating as so. So, Sāriputta, you should study as follows: 'After contemplating, we will purify our alms round'. This is how you should practice, Sāriputta. Thus the Blessed One preached.
