Because their lifespan is reduced, and their beauty is reduced, the lifespan of Humans is only ten thousand years and their children only five thousand years. Monks, when the lifespan of a human being is only five thousand years, two dharmas flourish, namely, bad speech and frivolous talk. Monks, when the lifespan of a human being is only ten years old, the Kudrusa seed becomes the supreme food. Just as at present, bhikkhus, meat porridge is the supreme food, so, bhikkhus, when the human lifespan reaches ten years, the Kudrusa seed becomes the supreme food. When the human lifespan reaches ten years, the ten virtuous actions completely disappear and the ten unwholesome actions increase to their maximum. Monks, when the human life span reaches the age of ten, the word good will also cease to exist, who is to say who does good? Hey monks, When the human lifespan reaches ten years old, those who lack respect for their parents, lack of respect for recluses and brahmins, lack of respect for the head of the family, the he will be worshiped and praised. Hey Male-stilts, when Humans have a lifespan of only ten years, the scepter of kalpas arises for seven days, during which they regard each other as beasts, sharp knives and swords appearing in their hands. With that sharp sword they destroyed each other's lives, treating each other like animals. Monks, among these sentient beings, some thought: "Let us not kill anyone; let no one kill us. Let us go to the grassy forest, the deep forest, the tree cave, the dangerous river. or between mountains and live with roots and fruit." They go into grassy forests, deep forests, tree caves, dangerous rivers, or mountain crevices and live with roots and fruit. Glad to see you're alive!" Hey monks, then those sentient beings think: "Because we create unwholesome causes, so many of our relatives are killed. So let's do good. Because life expectancy is increased and beauty is increased, the lifespan of humans is only ten years, but their children live to twenty years old. 22. The Male-stilts, then those sentient beings think: "Thanks to our good practice as a cause, our lifespan is increased, our beauty is increased. So let's do more good deeds. Let us guard against taking what is not given, keep from doing wrong deeds, keep from lying, keep from double-tongued, keep from evil speech, keep from frivolous speech, give up covetousness, give up anger, abandon wrong views, abandon the three dharmas i.e. non-dhamma, irrational covetousness, and wrong views. . The life span of Man is three hundred and twenty years old, and his sons will be six hundred and forty years old. Monks, when the lifespan of a human race reaches eighty thousand years, this city of Baranasi is the capital called Ketumati, very powerful, abundant, densely populated, and well fed. Hey monks, when the human lifespan reaches eighty thousand years in this Jambudìpa country, there will be eighty-four thousand cities and Ketumati will be the supreme capital. 24. Male-stilts, when the human lifespan reaches eighty thousand years, in the capital Ketumati, a Holy King named Sankha was born, who is a dharma king, taking the Dharma to rule the country, conquering the four kingdoms. Under the heavens, he rules over the lands, and is full of the seven treasures, namely, the treasured chariot, the treasured elephant, the precious horse, the precious jewel, the treasured woman, the treasured householder, and the seventh is the treasured general.
