California has issued an "at home" ordinance with residents to try to prevent the outbreak of corona virus across the most populous state in the United States.
Gavin Newsom Governor told Californians that they should only leave home when necessary in this pandemic.
Earlier, he estimated that more than half the population in the state of 40 million would be infected with Covid-19 in just two months.
So far, the new strain of corona virus has claimed 205 lives in the US and infected 14,000.
Worldwide, about 250,000 people were positive for the virus and about 9,900 died.

What does this order mean?

"This is the time when we need to make tough decisions. We need to accept the reality," Governor Newsom said.

His order allows residents to leave home to buy groceries or medicines, to take dogs for a walk or to exercise, but restrict public contact.
The order will force non-essential businesses to close. Other businesses, including groceries, drugstores, banks and gas stations, continue to operate.
About half of the state's population is subject to the same strict measures, including the city of San Francisco.
Democratic governors said many parts of the state showed infection rates doubled after just four days.
He made a dire prediction in a letter to President Donald Trump on Wednesday, calling for emergency help from the federal government.
"We anticipate that about 56% of the state's population - 25.5 million - will be infected by the virus in an eight-week period," Governor Newsom wrote.
So far, California has recorded less than 1,000 virus infections and 19 deaths, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Mayor Bill de Blasio told CNN, the nation's most populous city would run out of medical supplies within three weeks if the spread continued to "explode" at such a rate.

What does a travel warning say?

In an effort to stop the pandemic, the US Department of State issued a travel alert at level 4 - the highest level, usually only applied to countries at war - requiring "no travel". .
Just four days ago, the government sent a Level 3 warning, recommending citizens to consider traveling.
The latest warning says: "If you travel internationally, your plans may be severely disrupted. You may be forced to stay outside the United States for an indefinite period."
US President Donald Trump said Thursday his government worked with the military to bring hundreds of Americans stranded abroad, amid a global halt to international travel activities.
