Can Buddha use miracles to save the dead?VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.

The Buddha can heal the sick, but He is not concerned with bringing the dead back to life. He was more concerned with the absolute freedom to no longer be dominated by death and to use divine power just to educate. May we all live peacefully and no longer have to die!

The following story from the sutta 'Triple Gem' describes very well that the Buddha truly has the ability to use miracles to cure illnesses.
Once upon a time, people in the affluent Vesali town faced three natural disasters - famine, harassment by ghosts and plague. This disaster led to many deaths. The situation was even worse when the devil, relying on the corpses raging the living. Throughout the city, mourning is painful.
Facing these extremely dangerous yokes, the two Licchavi nobles and the mighty entourage came to visit the Buddha, then staying at the nearby Rajagaha (Vuong Xa) city. The Buddha, after hearing the story of this extremely desperate love affair, immediately accepted the request and joined the numerous monks and disciples, leaving Rajagaha to Ganges River (Ganges). Legend has it that Venerable Ananda also accompanied the Buddha on this trip.
After crossing the Ganges River, the Buddha and his monks went straight to the place where they were in distress. He and his disciples did something very strange. With loving kindness, the Buddha recited the Ratana Sutta (the Triple Gem) to the people of Vesali city. The Buddha preached this sutta to Ananda and the other elders, then instructed Ananda and the monks to go around the streets while reciting this Sutta to the people. Ananda embraced the Buddha's own bowl, which contained water, recited prayers while sprinkling water as he walked around the city. A sutra resounded, and the devil sought his way out of the city of Vesali. The calamity in this city was no more thanks to that.
In His view, it is only the power of truth in a natural way. The capacity for truth upholds the person who practices truth. For Him, if there is a miracle, it is a miracle of the art of education. Illustration

As such, the Buddha was able to heal illnesses with his intellect and compassion. He did this not on the personal side (revisiting the section "Mental peace") but on the public health, towards the peace of the entire people of the city of Vesali. But the Buddha did not call it a miracle. In His view, it is only the power of truth in a natural way. The capacity for truth upholds the person who practices truth. For Him, if there is a miracle, it is a miracle of the art of education. Change wicked wicked people into kind people, miserly stingy people into generous people, stupid people with wise people, sinners become holy people, cunning people become honest people, people lazy into handyman. All these become 'miracles' in the eyes of the Buddha.
What about bringing the dead back to life? Did Buddha do this?
According to the scriptures, the Buddha can extend his life to as much as He chooses. Many documents also say that those who practice the Buddha's teachings are also able to prolong their lives. However, the Buddha did not pay much attention to the problem of long life and bring the dead back to life. The Buddha has a bigger vision than that. For Him to die is only the temporary end of a temporary life only.
It is better to live one day to see the ultimate truth than to live for a thousand years without seeing the truth (Dharma, verse 113).
The dead will be reborn again. Life-and-death are not important. What is more important is that while dying, a person needs help to be reborn in a peaceful realm and towards the enlightened light. Only when fully enlightened will there be no more death, no more rebirth. From this perspective, we have never heard the Buddha use supernatural powers to raise the dead. Even if he did that, he still didn't consider it magical.

The following story is an example of how Buddha brought the dead back to life or I can say that He brought people from hell to heaven.
At the time of the Buddha, a monk named Tissa received a very beautiful outfit and it was a delight. The monk put the clothes on the clothes hanger, intending to stomach "tomorrow, I will wear this outfit." But that night, the monk was struck by a sudden death wind. This monk was reborn as a flea burrowed into a new robin. After the cremation ceremony, the monks split the monks' properties together. An angry flea runs wildly along the edge of the new robes, screaming "monks are wearing my clothes." By heavenly eyes, Buddha heard the cry of a flea. So he asked Ananda to come down and tell the monks to stop dividing the robes for 7 days. Until the eighth day, the new y was brought to split. Monks are surprised by this delay. That Buddha said, "because of attachment to this new y, Tissa was reborn as a flea. If the monks share the medicine too soon, that being will become even more indignant and reborn in another life in hell. However, by the seventh day, the flea had already descended into the world of the Tushita heaven. Therefore, on the eighth day, the Blessed One allowed them to increase the robe. " That is how the Buddha cleverly used means and compassion to help the dead / dying people evolve more in the cycle of birth and death. In another case, the Buddha could even guide a dying person to enlightenment. That is how the Buddha cleverly used means and compassion to help the dead / dying people evolve more in the cycle of birth and death. In another case, the Buddha could even guide a dying person to enlightenment. That is how the Buddha cleverly used means and compassion to help the dead / dying people evolve more in the cycle of birth and death. In another case, the Buddha could even guide a dying person to enlightenment.
According to the Samyutta, Sutta, the Buddha sometimes visited Dighayu, a layman who was seriously ill of death. The master instructed the layperson spiritually and soon afterward, Dighayu retired from life peacefully. After that, the Buddha declared Dighyu to realize his perfection (Ananda, the third saint). After his death, he was born in the heaven of the Pure Land, a heaven for the witnesses of An-function. There, he continued to practice attaining enlightenment A-la-Han and spend a lifetime there.
In short, the Buddha could heal the sick, but he was not concerned with bringing the dead back to life. He was more concerned with the absolute freedom to no longer be dominated by death and to use divine power just to educate. May we all live peacefully and no longer have to die! END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.25/3/2020.
