The meaning of six children on Maitreya Buddha's body Shakyamuni Buddha is called Tathagata, the leader in this Saha realm, and Maitreya Buddha will attain enlightenment under the Dragon Flower tree, so he is called the Dragon Flower Cult Master. Shakyamuni Buddha is called the teacher Tathagata, is the cardinal in this Saha realm. And Maitreya Buddha will become enlightened under the Dragon Flower tree, so he is called the leader of Long Hoa. Every spring comes, everyone prints Tet greeting cards. In pagodas in general, especially Northern Buddhism, most of them wish each other a Maitreya Spring. So what does Maitreya Buddha have to do with Spring, that we wish each other like that. There are many people who believe that the first day of the New Year is the astral day of Maitreya's birth. I don't know which nirmanakaya's birthday is, in what era. Because the bodhisattva's history is immeasurable, how can we base it on one side, taking that as the standard? We only know one thing that is really important in the name of Maitreya that we often recite often. When we chant: Nam Mo Long Hoa, The Dalai Lama Giving Birth to Maitreya Buddha, it is according to the mysterious words of the Buddha Shakyamuni that, after Maitreya Bodhisattva was born in the Tu heaven palace. -Perfect meritorious deeds, will come to this Saha world to preach. When a person's life expectancy is extremely reduced to only ten years, then due to the development of the mind to practice and uphold the ten virtues, life expectancy increases to sixty-four thousand years, then Maitreya Buddha was born. So the time of His birth is still far away. I have said that each Buddha born does not work in duplicate. When the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, the name Three Jewels is no longer known, Maitreya Buddha was born. Shakyamuni Buddha is called the teacher Tathagata, is the cardinal in this Saha realm. And Maitreya Buddha will become enlightened under the Dragon Flower tree, so he is called the leader of Long Hoa. Although the time of his birth is still far away, we believe that in the future there will be a Buddha born. When Buddha was born, it was a blessing for sentient beings and a bright torch for mankind. So when we think of the Buddha's birth, we feel a whole source of happiness and well-being. The first day of the New Year is the day of Maitreya Buddha's life, which is also the day that promises happiness for all sentient beings. Happiness by being freed from suffering, from samsara, not happiness in the five ordinary desires. At the beginning of the year, monks and nuns and Buddhists pay homage to Maitreya Buddha, who is our outer image but also our inner promise. Remembering the Buddha will become, we also remember that tomorrow we will become Buddha. So we not only bow to the Buddha with respect, but also wish each other a spring that promises to become Buddhas. That is the profound meaning of Maitreya Buddha's day. Now we enter into His symbolic meaning. Surely we all have seen the image of Maitreya in the temples. Sometimes people worship him with a fat, grin; there is another place worshiping the same image, but there are six children: some poke their fingers in their navel, some poke their noses, some their mouths, some poke their ears, etc.. no hindrance at all. Why? What does that image say? This is very important, we should pay attention as in the Shurangama Sutra, there is a passage in the ten directions where the Buddhas of the ten directions spoke in unison proclaimed to Ananda and the great assembly: "To cause you to reincarnate in birth and death, that is six. your room, not something else; cause you to quickly realize Unsurpassed Bodhi, which is also your six senses, and nothing else."Thus the root of birth and death is also our six faculties: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind; The root of Bodhi Nirvana is also our six senses. So the path back to enlightenment or the path of birth and death is one or two? Samsara also goes that way, and Bodhi Nirvana also goes that way, there is a difference. People who go in the forward direction are called forward-flow, and those who go in the opposite direction are called counter-currents. Going in the right direction is birth and death, going in the opposite direction is liberation from birth and death. Thus, there are no two paths. For example, we go to Saigon, also go on Vung Tau - Saigon road. Saigon - Vung Tau also go that way. But talking about Saigon is going back, saying going to Vung Tau is going back. Only one person goes back out, one person goes back in. It's different there. The road is one where two people go in the opposite direction or in the right direction, the result will have two different paths, and two different locations. In the same way, if our six senses, if we go along with it, we are going in samsara. We go against it, we return to Nirvana, Bodhi, liberation, etc. If the six senses follow the six ceilings, it's called forward flow, going in the direction of samsara. If the six senses do not follow the six senses, are not infected, are not attached, and are not attached, then one is not a stranger to Bodhi Nirvana. So to clearly see the path of cultivation, although there are many, but the basic practice is only to not let the six senses run after the six external ceilings. Maitreya Buddha is a Buddha who will become tomorrow because of what practice he cultivates? The image itself is the most concrete answer. Each child looked into His ears and poked His nose, but He still smiled without showing irritation, without showing sadness or obstruction. So he will definitely become a Buddha. What about us? If anyone pokes out his ear, he will not hit him or kick him, nor will he scream if he doesn't hit him; So do the six senses, if anyone touches it, we can't stand it. That unbearable place hinders us. Six children are called six thieves, ie six robbers. But do they really break me or not? If our ears are pierced and we don't feel uncomfortable, but we feel more itchy, then we won't have any problems. Currently most of us are baffled by outside words. If the insults, detractors, and curses reach our ears, but we consider it as the wind blowing the willow leaves, letting it go wherever the wind goes, don't get caught up in it. If we see that it is a hateful, sarcastic word that we get angry and angry with, and record it with hateful, dark thoughts, it will become a bandit and destroy our treasures. Listening to praise or criticism or high praise etc.. I also despise, because the voice is not real. My own self is not real, let alone the outside voice. If the mind doesn't move, then I have won the ear piercing child. When our eyes see all the images in front of us, good or bad, no matter what image we are indifferent, unmoving, not attached, so many images are spread out before our eyes, we are still safe and free. in. On the contrary, when we see an image, we immediately consider it beautiful to be ugly, beautiful to be afraid of loss, ugly to get angry, so every image causes trouble, no image is peaceful and free. Are those images really disturbing? Who is the affliction? Original in yourself. If you see it without attachment, without aversion, it is still it. There is no mistake! The fault is our own attachment and anger, not the image of the fault. When we harbor anger and attachment, our treasures are robbed. The eye brings images in to rob the family's treasure, which is the obstacle symbolized by the image of the child picking out the eye. If on the contrary I am not stuck, the image is the image, I am still at peace, then whatever the child does, I am still safe. The same is true of the nostrils, if you smell a bad smell, don't get stuck, treat it as smoke like the wind passing through your nose and then disappearing, nothing is real, nothing can make you infected. On the contrary, because we are delusional, so when the smell comes, we like it, when the bad smell comes, it is annoying. Therefore, he himself brought the enemy in to rob his family's treasures, creating obstacles for himself. As our tongues taste spicy, bitter, salty and sweet; What suits you like it, what doesn't, don't like it. That's why we run searching, suffering year after year. Whenever I go to the plate of rice, I feel happy when I see something that I think is suitable for my tongue, and if I see something that doesn't, I get angry. That joy and anger make us angry, then we say rude things to make people around us unhappy. That's why we train our tongues not to indulge in taste. All the good and bad are just temporary, just so that we can be safe and practice is precious. Thus, we have won all kinds of flavors, that is, we have won over the mouth child. I have singled out the senses such as eyes, ears, nose and tongue to see that we have to cultivate right at our six senses, which are organs that are constantly in contact with convenient circumstances to make us like, contrary circumstances. make me angry. Although it is said that six senses do not really have five important senses, ie eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, five doors to welcome the outside. Every time the five senses come into contact with the five ceilings, the mind follows that distinction to love, hate, sadness, and anger. So, even if we accept the other five senses correctly, the sixth sense (the mind sense) will no longer be an obstacle. When the six senses come into contact with the six ceilings that we are trapped and infected with, they are called six robbers, because our treasures were robbed by them. Robbery how? For example, the ear hears the sound and then distinguishes the praise from the criticism, the birth of sadness, the birth of joy, the loss of property. Which way did the enemy take it and where did he get it? It's hard to say simply. You need to know where you are and where the enemy's traces are taken to be able to keep your possessions. In fact, it doesn't take it anywhere, it's just a symbolic image. But we often think that when we take it, we have to take it, we don't expect that if it really takes it away, later on even if we keep it, we will keep the warehouse where we no longer have anything to keep. Therefore, it must be clear that although it said it stole from us, it did not steal anything. Just because the five sense organs are exposed to the outside, then our mind is agitated or sad or angry. It is the dark clouds that rise up to cover the sun of their wisdom, called robbing. When we hear praises and criticisms but our hearts do not move, the dark clouds do not rise, the sun of our wisdom still shines brightly, which is called keeping treasure. When our wisdom is always clear, then it is called rich. And if there is a moment when wisdom is obscured and can no longer be detected, it is called a loss of treasure, we become poorer. That poverty is temporary poverty, but it can also be eternal poverty. If we are obscured by the clouds of defilements at any moment, we lose our wisdom, but when we clear those clouds away, the sun of wisdom will shine again, which is called temporary poverty. Still nurturing the dark clouds, one after the other, even though there is the sun of wisdom, they still live in darkness all their lives. This life is dark, the next life is dark, continuing like that will never stop being poor. So there's a difference between people who know how to practice and who don't. Even though we too have been robbed of our treasures, and our sun of wisdom is obscured by dark clouds, but we believe that we will only be hidden for a minute and a second, and then we will shine again. Therefore, the meaning of Maitreya Buddha's future birth is a promising meaning in our minds, we will light up tomorrow, not forever. That must be a real promise, not an empty promise. Some people also make promises, but empty promises, that is, in the form of a monk, going to the temple to worship Buddha, but containing so many defilements. Listening to the sound, smelling the nose, just like that, put it all in your heart. Worried about finding delicious food, worried about storing fragrances, worried about storing beautiful forms, etc.. all day, worries and worries obscured the bright sun of wisdom, so they had to suffer in the dark. As for those who know how to practice, when wisdom is obscured, they regret, repent and try to clear the cloud, and vow not to let the sun of wisdom be obscured for a moment. That is a real promise, a promise of a person who knows how to cultivate, not an empty promise. It is in that essential place that Maitreya Buddha is called a happy person, a happy person is usually chubby and cheerful. That cheerful fatness is due to the fact that in his heart there are no clouds of affliction covering the sun of wisdom, but even though the six enemies have hooked their ears, noses, etc.. He still feels like nothing. And we see obstacles, so our foreheads are wrinkled, our eyebrows are frowning, our eyes are red, and our faces are miserable. That suffering is because I can't stand six destructive enemies, so naturally I am frustrated and annoyed. If it destroys but we don't see it as an obstacle, then that break becomes a joke with each other. We don't all have six enemies and six robbers, but it's our fault whether it's a war or a friend. So know where to practice in the six senses and then naturally be safe and free. Even though we have not yet become Buddhas, our lives are full of happiness. Every day is a happy day, every year is a beautiful year. That's why we often wish each other a free spring. It is Maitreya Spring, a happy Spring, a spring without worries and worries in the heart. Worry and sadness are not happiness. So, remembering Maitreya Buddha, remembering the six children who hooked his ears and nose, we should review ourselves every hour and every minute to see if the enemy has robbed us or not. If we keep raising six invaders so that they always rob us, then no matter how much we aspire to become a Buddha, Buddhahood is still far away. On the contrary, if we are in all circumstances, walking, standing, lying down, facing each other, living in accordance with the spirit of Maitreya Buddha, then I believe that even if we do not seek happiness, we will naturally be happy. If you don't seek to become a Buddha, you will naturally become a Buddha. In short, the essential place to practice is to know how to return to yourself, which is not to let the six senses lead the enemy in, which is called countercurrent. To reverse is to return to Awareness. And if you are always being led by the six enemies to steal your home's treasures, it's called a stream, that is, in the direction of birth and death.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.12/2/2022.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
