At a young age, Vi Da was a handsome, charismatic and handsome man, dressed as a martial minister so he was made quite similar to Chinese heroes like Zhao Yun, Ma Sieu ... Vi Da was also a protector. of the Quan Yin Bodhisattva
In the past, Vi Da was a young man living in the countryside, on the banks of the Luoyang River, in Quanzhou District, Fujian Province.
He is diligent, agile and kind, intelligent and talented, famous as a skilled worker in the area. His house is on the banks of the Luoyang River. This river is very wide, the water is fast flowing, because there is no bridge across, so people on both sides of the river are very arduous, dependent on passenger boats. Because of the fast flowing water and swirling pools, it was unsafe when it was good across the river but it became even more dangerous when heavy rains or storms hit the boat, so the boat capsized very often. in the fish belly is not less.
Vi Da had seen so many tragedy scenes with his own eyes, so he made a vow to build a bridge across the river, so for several years selling grass shoes, going to the rocky night to save every penny. He bent down, and saw that there was a great river swirling under his feet, an old boatman was sailing into the river and the boat was being pulled by a torrent to a swirling water. He rode the boat frantically, but the boat was swirled by the swirling water, seemingly about to capsize, the passengers on the boat were in a panic, the young women cried bitterly, the cry for help came. blue clouds, and reached the Quan Yin ear.
From the great compassion Bodhisattva took the willow branch from calm, threw down the boat in distress on the sea surface, examining the pressure of the waves to calm down.The torrent of water is causing the three dug-ups to rise, the deep swirling water is making the boat sway back and forth suddenly suddenly calm and calm, the boat thus escaped the danger.
Of course, the boatman did not know he had been helped by the Bodhisattva Quan Yin, saw that the boat was no longer swinging and escaping from the swirling water, gasping for breath, the joyful part, the part trying to regain the can. Make sure to row the boat to the opposite shore. Everyone on the boat felt that they were lucky to escape death, and recalling the dangerous situation they had just experienced, everyone shivered.
More than anyone else, Quan Yin understood the thoughts and desires of sentient beings, so he immediately decided to do something to benefit the people. So he lowered the clouds, turned into a beautiful young fisherman, walked up to the compartment to talk to the old man sailing, asked if he could row back to the other side right away? At that time, some villagers had just arrived and wanted to cross the river.The old man had not regained his soul yet, saying:
- Just a moment ago the boat capsized, escaping danger was an unexpected luck. This river flowed so hard, every time I rowed, I was so excited. To be honest, I'm still too scared now, I don't want to sail to the other side anymore, what if something happens?
The villagers urgently wanted to cross the river and pleaded in the water:
- Old man, if you don't give it, how can we return? He is a skilled expert, everyone put their trust in him, please take a moment for me!
The old man could not refuse the boat, so that Bodhisattva Quan Yin and a few villagers boarded the boat and once again took the paddle to the opposite shore, on the one hand, saying:
- You do not know how to row on the boat. How dangerous is this Luoyang river! For the past ten years, I have been sailing every day, having encountered so many dangerous scenes, temporarily thinking that I am hard-working so luckily I can come back from the dead every time. On this river, I have seen with my own eyes countless boats capsized, countless people drowned as bait for fish. I'm old, not healthy anymore, sooner or later I will have to abandon the boat!
Bodhisattva Quan Yin came and asked:
- Dear sir, this river is fast flowing, many whirlpools, sailing is really dangerous, how can not happen the accident to be!Why don't we build a bridge across the river? I came from far away, where I live, if any dangerous river like this has a bridge over it.
The old man sighed and shook his head, one of the boatmen continued, saying:
- Hundreds of them here look forward to building a bridge long time ago, the district official has also announced the construction of bridges several times, now they are calling for money contribution. tai, tomorrow, the rice grain is required to contribute, every year it is published, but for several years, where did not see, only see how much the district officials each year only inflated.
Guanyin asked:
- Can people stand by themselves to build bridges?
The old man heard that and laughed sadly.
- It is easy to say, if you want to build a bridge, you must have money, and you must have good workers. People do not have that much money, and also do not have enough people to stand out to organize such a big thing. However, a few years ago, a guy named Vi Da also mentioned building bridges. It was a young man with a great will, and a well-known skilled craftsman in this area. One day, seeing me sailing was too dangerous, he told me that I would definitely build a bridge. But later he did not appear again. Someone said he was at home to save money to build a bridge, these years have not felt static, maybe he could not save money.Bridge construction is not easy!
Quan Yin felt so happy feeling unexpectedly, thinking that there was such a young man like that here was very rare, had the same wish, and later assigned him to organize the construction of the bridge. Isn't it a good fit?
It is difficult for ordinary people to know how much money is needed to build a bridge, if the bridge is to be built, then he must stand out to find a new method.
At that time, the boat had docked, the villagers came ashore and parted with each other home, but the fishing girl did not land but sat in the boat, deep in thought. The old man in the boat felt strange and asked:
- Lady, why don't you come ashore?
- Old lady, the fishing girl replies, I'm thinking of building a bridge. Just now he said that some guy was determined to build a bridge, it was very rare. But if he makes money by himself, then his whole life will not be enough. Why don't we all find ways to help him?
The old man answered the boat:
- Which way now, everyone here is poor, and those who have money, who will cut off his bowels!
The fishing girl replied,
"Specifically, it is not difficult to find a solution, I think on this river, if there is no bridge, there will still be an accident, so I want to lend a helping hand."
The old man in the boat heard that feeling strange:
- Miss? Do you have any measures? Unless your family has money and wants to do good deeds.
The girl replied:
- My family has no money but I have measures. For example, is there a way to get rich people's money?
The old man answered the boat:
- Taking money from the rich? Rich people do not have to let themselves get the money, she is very clever dreamy.
There is a fisherman's daughter who says:
- Uncle, I have this way but need my help. If you do this with me, I can take money from the rich.
After saying that, the girl came whispering loudly into the ear of the old man, waving her arms and legs, and the old man kept nodding from the beginning to the end.
Finally he said,
"Okay, so starting tomorrow we will start implementing your plan."
The next day, just on the third day of the third month, it was the biggest pagoda festival of the year in Quanzhou. People from all four directions gathered to attend the meeting, people going back and forth were very busy.
That day the old man also rowed like usual but today the difference is that there is a very beautiful girl sitting in the boat, and the old man is smiling like a flower, the boat does not dock but stops in the middle River.
The Lac Duong River is about fifty meters wide, the boat is in the middle of the river, which is about twenty yards away from both sides of the river. The old boat man and girl kept in the middle of the river like that and talked, refused to take the boat to the dock. People who want to cross the river stand on both sides of the river cringing:
- Old man, take a boat to pick up guests, we want to cross the river!
But they called out to them, the old man did not care, still in the middle of the river. Guests waiting for boats became more and more crowded, everyone could see his boat and everyone was curious about what he wanted to do, and the more they became noisy. Especially when they saw sitting on the boat, the fishing girl had a better beauty than her. They looked at a beautiful girl, everyone heard the heart pounding, the spirit of fullness, especially the crown prince, they became like crazy like that. The girl sitting on the boat was floating in the middle of the river, not more than twenty meters from both sides of the river, when she saw it, it was almost right next to her, worried that she would not hit? At that time, the old boat man told everyone that it was dark, he could not continue to throw anymore, come back to throw again tomorrow.

The next day, the old man rowed again in the middle of the river, and the fishing girl sat on the boat again. His mind was shaken so he wanted to throw in, but he immediately suppressed that thought, thinking that many people threw but no one hit, I should not throw money in vain, it should be fine. Let go of that thought.
But just then Lu Dong Tan, one of Bat Tien, still traveled to this place. He saw underneath the crowd like ants, not knowing what was going on and landed the clouds in confusion among the crowd of people. He turned into a white-haired old man, when he saw the girl fishing on the boat, he immediately knew that it was the Bodhisattva Quan Yin and immediately told him, so he was very impressed with the method of making Quan Yin's money, but and could not help but feel ridiculous, thinking:
- Great master, great master, it was hard work to find good deeds to think of such a magic device. But today I want to make him appear. He made the children of the rich to throw money unjustly, no one could hit Him, He was picky enough to build bridges. If nothing had happened then it would have been too much for the young princes, so I wanted to see how he would deal with the wife of a mortal!
Lu Dong Tan turned to look for a young man to help him hit the fishing girl, making it difficult for Quan Yin Bodhisattva to see! How smart he stood right next to Vi Da. He found the guy to be so kind and mature, not the kind of guy to cover that, and he also caught the movement of picking out money and putting it back in. He thought:
- All right, Colonel, I will make this guy hit Him, to see Him how?
So he patted Vi Da on the shoulder and said,
"Hey, boy, do you want to try a trip?"
Vi Da was asked, her face flushed red, embarrassed and bowed. Lu Dong Tan said:
- You have nothing to be ashamed of, big boys have to have a wife, such a beautiful female beauty is not picky about her husband, you should not ignore the opportunity. What if fate is with her?
The young man looked at the old man and said:

Seeing then, he was angry and wanted to lose his breath because in the crowd, Lu Dong Tan was looking at him and laughed. Therefore, he immediately knew that there was a disruptive hand by Lu Dong Tan.
There are people calling:
- He drove a boat, quickly paddled here, the groom stood here nè!
Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara is very confused but there is no other way than for the old man to sail to pick up Lu Dong Tan and Vi Da on the boat, a promise that is not easy to swallow!
The old boat man recognized Vi Da and happily told the fishing girl:
- Lady, this guy is the young man who wants to build a bridge, it is really heavenly!

And Lu Dong Tan, Quan Yin knows that he is a vandal, teasing others, so He is not angry anymore, but said:
- You work well, I thank you. But he joked this time too much, should not be so favorable. If you sow the wind, then reap storms now, I think you should quickly tell the truth.
The old man drove the boat and Vi Da heard the Quan Yin and Lu Dong Tan talking to each other as if they had been acquaintances for a long time, feeling strange, so the two men stood looking blankly. Lu Dong Tan heard the Quan Yin teaching like that, he did not dare to joke anymore, and also thought that he should only joke just right, must hurry to tell the truth lest it will be awkward for as long as possible.Thinking so, Lu Dong Tan went to tell the truth to the old man sailing and Vi Da.
When the two men knew that they were standing in front of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and Lu Dong Tan, the two men were both terrified and excited. When he thought of Quan Yin again because he wanted to have enough money to build a bridge, he had to work hard to think of the magic, the past few days, he collected money from a whole boat cabin, the two people deeply admired his compassion and wisdom. early worship endlessly.
The story of being a cocoon husband is just a conspiracy of the Bodhisattva, elves and humans are permanently separated so once explained, there is no problem.
Four people finished counting the money already, Bodhisattva Quan Yin told the old boat man and Vi Da:
- The story of building a bridge is an important thing, now we entrust it to two people. Vi Da is a good person, please try to work a little harder. Currently, this amount is enough to build a bridge, so please hurry and proceed to work, take advantage of the time to build the bridge as quickly as possible. When the bridge is finished, we will return.
After saying, He appeared Quan Yin solemn minister, then with Lu Dong Tan to the clouds that go.
The old man who drove the boat and Vi Da was entrusted by Mr. Quan Yin, the next day he started to work, working day and night without delay, not until a year later, a majestic bridge was north. across the Luoyang River.
Right on the day the bridge had just been built, he suddenly returned. Although he still appeared as a fishing girl, but this time everyone knew that it was the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara coming down so they all fell down to prostrate.
Bodhisattva said to everyone:
- Get up quickly, you should not thank me. This bridge is accomplished due to the contribution of all of you, we must thank you.
The Bodhisattva Quan Yin congratulates the bridge being completed, then goes to the clouds to return to Nam Hai. But before he left, he spoke privately to Vi Da:
- Vi Da, you completed the bridge construction successfully.You threw money at me because you and I were predestined.I see you're a good-hearted person, do you want to join me in Pho Da Son? If you want, you can stay with us and practice until the very fruitfulness, being the protector of the Dharma for us, if you don't want then stay here.
Vi Da hurriedly replied:
- Bodhisattva is on high, Vi Da is helped by Bodhisattva, a pledge to build fullness of bridge, after the bridge is finished, I always sculpt the heart of great compassion from the Bodhisattva. If you follow the Bodhisattva and practice spiritually, it is a privilege that you still dream about and don't dare to think could come true. I vow to follow the Bodhisattva to Pho Da Son.
Bodhisattva Quan Yin brought Vi Da to Pho Da Son. A few years later, Vi Da successfully cultivated and became a deity, and was called "Vi Da Thien Ton", the moment when standing in front of the Bodhisattva Quan Yin to protect him.
