The cultivate bodhichitta practice is a very important. Without compassion practice early stages, such as abandoning the thought, thinking beings seek to harm or self-control anger heart, then we can hardly cultivate true love and achievements on the path of bodhisattva practice.
What is bodhichitta?
Development practice Bodhicitta is the most important disciplines in all the Buddhist legacy, not only in the Vajrayana tradition. Bodhicitta teachings mentioned in various scriptures. The fact this is a very interesting topic and needs to be understood in order to practice. Because bodhichitta is the basic platform and extremely important.
Depending on the different Buddhist traditions that Bodhicitta have different names. In the Theravada tradition, bodhichitta practice primarily not to harm living beings "not to harm living beings", "do not harm others", "do not kill all species." Although he did not call it bodhicitta, but this is a fundamental part of the practice of bodhicitta. Practitioners can not practice developed Bodhicitta complete without removing all evil mind wants to harm any species. That is why the teachings of Theravada Buddhism are mainly talking about innocuous, no police, no courts.
That is why in the first sermon in Varanasi, Buddha mainly emphasized not harming living beings. In the practice of Theravada Buddhism, we must remove the mind harm by preventing the evil I do not do harm to living beings. In the Mahayana Buddhist tradition, but the Buddha encouraged us to practice the Bodhisattva virtues, but he continued to insist on abandoning thoughts and actions harm, such as killing or anger . These teachings are based on our mind and is regarded as antidote to the three poisons of greed, hatred and delusion.
At the start of practice developed bodhichitta, we first need to remove attachments. In the Theravada tradition, the first purpose of the meditator is the accepted practice discharge. There are also many different ways to develop bodhicitta as not to harm, not clinging. The basic practice is to learn not to cling to life or reincarnation. Becoming a monk's renunciation of samsara act properly.
Of course, in addition to not harm living beings, there are many other ways to develop bodhichitta according to Theravada tradition, as understood and practiced the Four Noble Truths. But according to the Buddha's teaching, if only such practice is not enough. The practitioner must develop fullness Bodhi mind, true. To develop such Bodhicitta, which is actually reached "Awakened Mind" and "Heart of Enlightenment", the Buddha taught many methods and practices in the various scriptures.
If contemplation about this carefully, you'll notice Bodhicitta is the feeling of deep concern, with love and compassion towards all beings. Because really love and empathy, you do not just feel, you also want to have the care action for yourself, with friends and parents. But if only a limited interest to parents, friends, it's not Bodhicitta; there is still a kind of clinging by its restrictions. This kind of feeling is very easy to develop because all beings are available.
But true Bodhicitta is unlimited, beyond all boundaries, including all perfect beings. When practitioners have yet to develop the Bodhi mind towards all beings, then there is not yet the practice of true and full of Bodhi mind. What we practice is limited only to some people that we care. If we do not get the love and compassion towards everyone, even our enemies, or to the country and the people we do not like, they can not practice head bodhicitta genuine support, because it is still limited.
Bodhicitta relative and absolute bodhicitta
In some Mahayana sutras say that Buddha was teaching for about two kinds of bodhicitta for His disciples Germany Bodhisattva Manjushri and Avalokiteshvara.
The first is the relative bodhicitta, the second is the absolute Bodhicitta, sometimes called Mahamudra, Dzogpa Chenpo, or Buddhahood. We must practice development relative bodhichitta before realizing absolute bodhicitta. Absolute bodhicitta is the true nature inside the mind of all beings. That pronoun, great compassion and great location. This inherent qualities, not only in humans but all living beings are readily enough. We can actually witness the ultimate Bodhicitta through meditating, accumulate merit and purify all obscurations ignorance has obscured the pure, that we do not see, do not understand, do not get the true nature of his own mind. What kind of ignorance renders various obstacles actually have contact with each other. Therefore, to be able to understand and witness the ultimate Bodhicitta, first we must develop relative bodhicitta. Otherwise, the realization of absolute Bodhicitta will be extremely difficult.
