HOLY PERSONAL CHARACTER III – SUMEDH PRODUCT. THE CHARACTER OF SUMEDH PRODUCTS At the time of the Blessed One Koṇāgamana, we consisted of three close girlfriends[1] who made offerings to stay at the new residence, the monastery of the assembly. We have been reborn ten times, a hundred times, a thousand times, ten thousand times in the heavenly realms, there is nothing to say in the human realm. We already have great divine power in the heavens, so in the human realm there is nothing to talk about. I was the queen, the female treasure among the seven kinds of treasures. In this place, due to the accumulated merit, Dhanañjānī, Khemā, and I too, the three of them were descended from extremely wealthy families. Having established the monastery, which was skillfully built and decorated in every way, we presented it to the assembly headed by the Buddha and (we) were delighted. Due to the force of that karma, wherever I am born, In the heavens and likewise among men, I have attained noble dignity. Even in this life, among those who are preaching has arisen a noble named Kassapa, a descendant of great fame, a relative of Brahma. At that time, the king of Kāsī named Kikī was in the city of Bārāṇasī, the lord of mankind who had been the protector of the Great Hermit. The king's seven daughters were well-bred princesses. Delighted in saving the Buddha, they practiced the holy life (of the young woman). As a friend of those ladies (princesses), I have been skillfully attentive to the precepts, have made offerings respectfully, and have performed my duties even as a layperson. Because that kamma was done well and due to the aspirational forces of volition, after relinquishing the human body I went to the Dao Loi heaven. From that place I died, I went to the Da Ma heaven, from there went to the Dau Dat heaven, and from there to the Hoa Lac Thien realm, and from there to the Tha Hoa Self Real world. As a person who has accomplished good karma, wherever I was born I have been established in the throne of kings in those places. From that place died (born) into a human body, I was established in the throne of the Wheel-turning Kings and of the kings governing the territories. I have enjoyed success among the gods and among men, have enjoyed happiness in all places, and have transmigrated through many lives. That cause, that source of arising, that root, that hard work in the Dharma, that first union, that nirvana is due to delight in the Dharma. My afflictions have been burned away, all existence[2] has been erased. After severing the bondage as a female elephant (untied), I lived free of lust. Indeed, I have succeeded perfectly, have attained the three wisdoms, have practiced the teachings of the Buddha in the pre-appearance of the supreme Buddha. Perhaps we will go to hell, which is extremely hot, miserable, creepy, extremely scary; this to me is no doubt (anymore).” I went to see the king and said these words: "O King of kings, please give me a recluse. I will take care of the food.” The great king gave me (one) a recluse whose sense(s) had been developed. After receiving his bowl, I filled it with fine food. It is noble for me to attain the wisdom of the supreme Buddha." While waiting for the Fully Enlightened One, I sat down near the great door (thinking): "When the Fully Enlightened One comes, I will make offerings to the Great Sage." Striking, resplendent, like a lion who is the king of the wild animals, the Conqueror, accompanied by the Order of Bhikkhus, came to dwell on the road. After seeing the Buddha's aura, I became elated, with an elated mind. I opened the door and made offerings to the supreme Buddha. Seven blue lotus flowers were scattered in the air. They form a canopy and rest on top of the Buddha's head. With excitement, with joy, full of excitement, I put my hands up. Having calmed the mind in this, I went to the Dao Loi heaven. They form a deep blue veil over my head, I release the heavenly fragrance; this is the fruit of the seven green lotuses. At that time, on one occasion while I was being led away by a group of relatives, all of my people were dressed in (a) deep blue. I have been established in the throne of the seventy heavenly kings. After becoming the queen everywhere, I (have) reincarnated in this realm after another. I have been established in the throne of the sixty-three Wheel-turning Kings. As a seeker of the good, I went from monastery to monastery. One day in my subordinates, I saw the supreme Bodhi tree. There, after purifying my mind, I sat down at the base of the Bodhi tree. Having established the mind of reverence, I clasped my hands above my head and expressed joy. At that moment I thought thus: "If the Buddha had immeasurable virtue, no one could compare, May this Bodhi tree manifest miracles, shine for me." Along with my thinking, at that moment the Bodhi tree glowed, turned into total gold, and shone in all directions. I sat down there, at the base of the Bodhi tree for seven days and nights. When the seventh day was reached, I made the offering of lamps. After being placed around the seat, the five lamps glowed. Then my lights were on until the sun came up. Because that kamma was well done and due to the aspirational powers of volition, after relinquishing the human body I went to the Dao Loi heaven. In that place, there was a well-constructed palace for me called “Ngu Dang,” whose height was sixty yojanas, and its width was thirty yojanas. There were countless lights around me. Even the palaces of the gods are illuminated by the light of the lamps. After sitting down with my face the other way, if I want to see above, below, and horizontally, I see it all with my eyes. Even when I wish to see good or bad things, nothing can hide it, whether in the trees or in the mountains. I have been established as the chief queen of eighty heavenly kings. I have been established as the chief queen of a hundred Wheel-turning Kings. Every time I am reborn in the realm of gods or humans, a hundred thousand lamps gather around me and shine. After dying from the world of gods, I was reborn in my mother's womb. While entering the womb and staying, my eyes did not close. One hundred thousand lamps are the result of meritorious karma, they light up the home of the birth; this is the fruit of the five lamps. When I reached my last life, I kept my mind. I have reached Nirvana which is the state of coolness, no aging, no death. At the age of seven from the time I was born, I have attained the rank of Arahant. After knowing (my) virtue, Gotama Buddha allowed me to become a monk. While I meditated under roofs or at the base of trees, in large buildings or in caves, and in empty places, five lamps illuminated me. My celestial eye is purified, I am skilled in concentration, I have attained superior knowledge and perfect dharmas; this is the fruit of the five lamps. "Great Hero, Right Eyed One, I am Pañcadīpā with all my fuels exhausted, with my duties done, with no taints left, I bow down at the feet. "Since I offered the lamp one hundred thousand kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of the five lamps. My afflictions have been burned, all existences have been erased. After severing the bondage as a female elephant (untied), I lived free of leprosy. Indeed, I have succeeded perfectly, have attained the three wisdoms, have practiced the teachings of the Buddha in the pre-appearance of the supreme Buddha. Thanks to that, I raised the children. And I have nothing worthy to offer to the supreme field of merit. I went to the cistern and provided water. Since that karma was well done, I went to the Dao Loi heaven. In that place there was a skillfully constructed palace, which was manifested to me by (the merit of) pouring water. At that time, I myself was the head of a thousand fairies, I always ruled over all of them along with the ten regions. I have been established as the chief queen of fifty heavenly kings. I have been established in the throne of the twenty wheel-turning kings. I (have) reincarnated in two realms, in the essence of gods and humans. I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of giving water. Whether at the top of a mountain or at the top of a tree, in the air and on the ground, when I wish to return to the country, I immediately obtain it. There is no way that there is no rain, and no heat or burning; after learning of my intentions a great cloud (will) rain down. At that time, on one occasion while I was being led by a group of relatives, when I wanted rain, then a big cloud poured rain. Heat or irritation is not known to my body, and dust is not to my body; this is the fruit of giving water.
