For the one who renounces taking what is not given, thus fear and hatred are subdued.
7) Householder, fear and hatred are caused by people living in sexual misconduct because of the predestined existence of wrong conduct in sensual pleasures in the present; fear and hatred that will result in the future, including the suffering and sorrowful mind that one feels. For the one who has given up on living wrongdoing in desires, thus fear and hatred are subdued.
8) Householder, fear and hatred are brought about by a liar, and the predilection for lying; fear and hatred that will result in the future, including the suffering and sorrowful mind that one feels. For those who have stopped lying, fear and hatred are subdued.
9) Fear and hatred, householder, are brought about in the present moment by those who are intoxicated with yeast and brewed wine, and infatuated with yeast and brewed wine; fear and hatred that will lead to the future, including the suffering and sorrowful mind that one feels. V. Natika (S.ii, 84)

4) Due to the predestined ears and sounds...
5) Due to the grace of the nostrils and the scents...
6) Due to the grace of the tongue and the taste...
7) Due to the body and the contacts...
8) Because of volition and dhammas, consciousness arises. Because the three are gathered, there is contact. Due to the contact should have life. Due to predestined life, there is love. Due to craving, there is clinging... Thus is the arising of this whole aggregate of suffering.
9) Due to the eye condition and rupa, eye consciousness arises. Because the three are gathered, there is contact. Due to the contact should have life. Due to predestined life, there is love. Thus is the cessation of this entire aggregate of suffering.

Due to the dispassion of greed, the complete cessation of ignorance should be eliminated. Due to the cessation... Thus is the cessation of all this aggregate of suffering.
6) When this was said, the brahmin said to the Blessed One:
-- How wonderful, Venerable Gotama! It is wonderful, Venerable Gotama!... I hope Venerable Gotama accepts me as a disciple. From now until my death, I would like to dedicate my whole life.
VII. Janussoni (S.ii,76)
1) ... Reside in Sàvatthi.
2) Then the brahmin Janussoni went to the Blessed One; After arriving, speak to the Blessed One with greetings and greetings...
Sitting to one side, the brahmin Janussoni said to the Blessed One:
3) -- Venerable Gotama, are they all there?

4) -- Venerable Gotama, is it not all?
-- All, brahmins, do not exist, that is the second extreme. Brahmin, abandoning these two extremes, the Tathagata preaches the Dharma according to the middle way.

All is one, brahmin, the third world view.
6) -- Venerable Gotama, isn't it all too much?
-- All are many, brahmin, is the fourth world view.
Brahmin, abandoning these two extremes, the Tathagata preaches the Dharma along the middle path.
7) Due to ignorance, there is action. Due to dependent formations there is consciousness... Thus is the arising of this whole aggregate of suffering.

IX. Holy Disciple (Journal 14.8 Holy Disciple, Dai 2.98b) (S.ii,77)
1) ... Reside in Sàvatthi.
2)--Monks, the noble disciple does not think thus: "Because of what exists, what exists? Due to what arises, what arises? Because of what exists? Because of what exists, nama-rupa exists? Because of what exists, the six bases exist? Because of what exists, contact exists? Because of what exists, feeling exists? What exists, craving exists Due to what exists, clinging exists? Because of what exists, existence exists? "
3) The bhikkhus, a noble disciple who has no predilection for others has the following knowledge: "Because this exists, that exists. Because this arises, that arises. Ignorance leads to action. Dependent action leads to consciousness. Due to dependent consciousness, there is name-and-form... Due to dependent origination, aging and death arise. He understands thus. Such is the arising of this world." .
4) The bhikkhus, the noble disciple did not think thus: 'Because of what does not exist, what does not exist? Because of what ceases, what ceases? 6) And, bhikkhus, since the noble disciple as it really is, knows the arising and the cessation of the world, bhikkhus, this noble disciple is called a seer... (as above)... stood knocking on the immortal door.
X. The Holy Disciple (S.ii, 79)
1) ... At Sàvatthi.
2)--Monks, the noble disciple does not think thus: "Because of what exists, what exists? Due to what arises, what arises? Because of what exists? Because of what exists, consciousness exists? Because of what exists, nama-rupa exists? Because of what exists, the six bases exist? What exists, feeling exists? Because of what exists, craving exists? Because of what exists, clinging exists? what exists, old and dead exist?".
3) Then, bhikkhus, a noble disciple who is not predestined to anyone else has the following knowledge: "Because this exists, that exists. Because this arises, that arises. Because ignorance is present, formations exist. Because formations are present, consciousness exists. Because consciousness is present, nama-rupa exists. Because name-and-form exists, the six bases exist. Because of the six sense bases, contact exists. Because contact is present, feeling exists. Because feeling is present, craving exists. Because craving is present, grasping is present. Because grasping is present, being exists. Due to being, birth is present. , aging and death exist". He understands like that. Such is the arising of this world.

5) Here, bhikkhus, a learned noble disciple who has no affinity for anyone else has the following knowledge: "Because this does not exist, that does not exist? Because this ceases, that ceases. Because ignorance does not exist, formations do not exist. Because formations are not present, consciousness does not exist. Because consciousness does not exist, nama-rupa does not exist. Because nama-rupa does not exist, the six sense bases do not exist. Because the six sense bases do not exist, contact does not exist... (as above)... Due to birth there is no existence, aging and death do not exist". He understands like that. Such is the cessation of this world.
6) Since, bhikkhus, such a noble disciple knows the arising and passing away of this world as it really is, bhikkhus, such a noble disciple is called a seer.
