The Ten Essentials of Spiritual Practice.VIETNAMSE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH. 1. Honoring Parents The Buddha taught us to take filial piety as the root. Caring for one's parents is a great fundamental method of Buddhism, and is also an important basic condition for being a human being. We think that even birds and animals know how to take care of themselves. If we don't take care of our parents, isn't it not as good as animals? Parents are our greatest blessing in this life. The merit of being filial to one's parents and the merit of making offerings to the Buddha are the same, not being filial to one's parents is considered the biggest mistake of a person's life. People who are not filial even a little bit have not said anything about studying Buddhism. In addition, we also advise parents to have Faith, Vow, recite the Buddha's name, pray to be born in the West forever to be free from the suffering of birth and death, which is filial piety, the ultimate goal. 2. Fulfilling Duties As a human being in the world, everyone has their own duties and responsibilities. People who study Buddhism on their job must strive diligently to be an example for their family, society and the country. Being filial to parents, educating children, loving family, benefiting society, repaying the motherland are true Buddhist learners. If you shirk your own responsibility, don't fulfill your duties, and brag about studying Buddhism, you'll be lying to yourself and fooling others. You can't achieve success. 3. Deep Belief in Cause and Effect The core of the entire Buddhadharma is the two words "cause and effect". We plant good, we get good results, if we plant evil, we will definitely bear bad results, there is no wrong in retribution, not that there is no retribution, but just because the time has not come. Buddhists must deeply believe in cause and effect, take precepts as a teacher, self-reflect every day, and always make amends. In addition, people who recite the Buddha's name deeply believe in cultivating good causes and reciting the Buddha's name, and they will certainly achieve good results and become Buddhas. This is a very miraculous cause and effect. 4. No Killing, Vegetarian Buddhists do not do evil deeds, and strive to eliminate all evil deeds. Of all the crimes, the heaviest crime is killing and eating meat. Because, the lives of living beings are very precious, you should not kill for your own life. If you eat its flesh, it will hold a grudge. It will end up in deep hatred. In the next life, it will kill us. We will avenge our debt. Blood will be returned. blood debt, evil results are very dire. Therefore, we do not do evil deeds, do not kill, and fasting is urgent. 5. Liberators Save Lives Buddhists must do good deeds, any good deeds, as long as they have the opportunity, do their best. Of all the good deeds, liberating life is first. Because, liberating life is an urgent life-saving act, the merit is great, not the small good deeds can be compared. The life of a living being is very precious, if we release it, save it, it will be extremely grateful. If we make a good relationship with it, in the next life we will receive good retribution and inconceivable merit and virtue. Therefore, in the good things, saving lives is the first. 6. Chi Tam Sincerely Sincere devotion is the foundation for any career in the world. Great Master An Quang teaches us to put all our efforts, taking two words of respect as an important point. We have a part of piety, we have a part of merit, with a part of devotion, we have ten parts of merit. This is a great secret to successful Buddhist studies, which everyone must absolutely keep in mind. 7. Generate Bodhicitta A person's more or less meritorious virtue is in direct proportion to his or her own mind. If the mind is large, the merit will be much. Therefore, Buddhist learners must have a large heart, do anything absolutely not for self-interest, must come from a sincere, honest mind for the benefit of all sentient beings. We are on the bridge of the Buddha's path, we develop our minds to become Buddhas; then, have the power to save all sentient beings. When we meet, we must convert the essence of the Buddhadharma to the masses. In addition, the mind must sincerely recite the Buddha's name to seek birth in the Western world of Ultimate Bliss; That is the true generation of Bodhicitta. 8. O Buddha of Repentance We from beginningless eons to now create many sins, if there is a form, all space will not contain it all; Because, we are ordinary people, bad karma, bad karma. Therefore, people who study Buddhism must be ashamed and sincerely repent, diligently bowing to the Buddha. Because bowing to the Buddha once and sincerely, our sins will be eliminated like the sand in the Ganges River, bowing to the Buddha is an expression of our sincerity and reverence. The best method is to shamefully examine your own faults. 9. Faith, Prayer and Buddha Recitation Pure Land Dharma is about relying on Buddha's power for help. Faith is believing that the Western world of Ultimate Bliss has Amitabha Buddha. I wish that I would be born soon in that Land of Ultimate Bliss, and be fed up of this Saha world. Hanh is to sincerely recite, keep a holy verse Namo Amitabha Buddha (or Amitabha Buddha). As long as the three-fourths of faith, Vow, and Hanh are fully met, they will rely on the great vows of Amitabha Buddha's power to help, get out of birth and death, and permanently eliminate samsara. This is the most profound and convenient method of all the teachings that the Buddha taught. Theoretically speaking, a sentence Amitabha Buddha is saved by Buddha's power, certainly guarantees rebirth in the West. But why today are many people who recite the Buddha's name, but there are few who are reborn? This is a very important and serious issue, today people who recite the Buddha's name but cannot be reborn is important because " lack of faith, vows are afraid of death, basically do not want to be reborn ". Today, people who recite the Buddha's name only wish for a long life, for health and peace, for wealth, for a favorable job, for all the benefits in the world; but do not seek rebirth in the West. One word Death can test whether the person who recites the Buddha's name has full Faith and Vow? Ask ourselves, are we afraid of death? If we die immediately, Amitabha Buddha will welcome us to be reborn in the West, will we be satisfied? A person who really recites Buddha's name is one who is tired of leaving this Saha world, and wants to go to the Land of Ultimate Bliss, so death is certain to be like returning. At any time, they also wish to follow Amitabha Buddha soon to the Western world of Ultimate Bliss, absolutely not afraid of death, always want to be reborn immediately. As for those who are fake Buddha names inside and out, they are not really greedy people who are afraid of death, don't want to die, don't want to be reborn, want to live a long life, there are many reasons for attachment. We should know that the mind of a person who is afraid of death, does not want to die, does not wish to be reborn, is contrary to Amitabha Buddha's mind, does not have enough faith, faith, and vows. Today, one thousand people recite Buddha's name, there are nine hundred and ninety-nine people who recite fake Buddha. If a person really recites the Buddha's name, the word "Death" will often be in his mind, he will always test it himself. As long as the person who recites the Buddha's name is not afraid of death, likes to die, always welcomes death, and always wishes to be reborn as soon as possible. Ultimate Bliss; This is a person who really recites the Buddha's name, " tired of leaving Tathagata, preferring to seek Ultimate Bliss ". Thus, a thousand people recite the Buddha's name, thousands of people are reborn; Ten thousand people recite the Buddha's name, ten thousand people are reborn, there is not a single person who is not born in the West. 10. Practice Effort The most important Buddhist dharma is practice. There was an old woman who did not know a word, did not understand the sutras at all, only knew how to fast, bow to the Buddha, sincerely recite a sentence Namo Amitabha Buddha and be reborn. She studied Buddhism to achieve rebirth, more than the wise, unobtrusive, knowledgeable in the Tripitaka, it is important to make an effort to practice or not. Talented people, understanding without practice, like counting on paper, telling names of dishes, counting treasures for people, are all useless. In short, we study Buddhism only to specialize, the most afraid is to mix; As long as you firmly grasp the important points and then put in the effort to practice, you will definitely gain the true benefit of the Buddhadharma.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.4/12/2021.
