The deep meaning of impermanence is Heaven and God the same thing? Is Buddhism an atheist faith? So far, we have only talked about temporary impermanence, if we cleverly go a step further, we will realize the truth in the impermanent. Saying impermanent to help people realize the truth to rise up, to live with the truth, not saying impermanent and only seeing temporary impermanence, that is the deep meaning of impermanence. The reason for impermanence is not to make people pessimistic, when it is clear that everything is impermanent, we will not be confused and live back to the true origin that we have forgotten. That is, Buddha-nature, the original mind, and the truth in oneself. It is said that all sentient beings have Buddha-nature, but that Buddha-nature is impermanent and cannot be touched. Beings are influenced by impermanence, but they do not lose their Buddha-nature, so people who are skillful in cultivation, Enlightenment will transform sentient beings into Buddhas. Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Saints are also born from enlightened sentient beings. When he is still confused, he is a living being; when he is enlightened, he becomes a Buddha. Buddhas also advance from sentient beings, so do Bodhisattvas, Arahants, and Saints. Then in sentient beings there are non-beings, so we should say impermanent so that we don't mistake this falsehood, and return to that enlightened truth. The verse teaching them by Zen master Man Giac: "Spring is full of flowers and flowers, Spring is full of flowers, the eyes are too expensive, Old Tung's head is high. When the spring fades away, the flowers are lost, and the communal house is carved with the most beautiful flowers in the morning". is to say this: In the impermanent there is the truth. That is, when spring goes, a hundred flowers fall, spring comes a hundred flowers bloom, life goes by in front of our eyes like water, water goes on and goes away. From time to time, when looking back, it's old, it's already on the head, the hair is already gray. The verse reminds that life is impermanent, from external circumstances to oneself being changed by impermanence. But why not say spring comes first but say spring first? It is often said that when they come, they go, when they come, they go. Spring comes when flowers bloom, flowers die in spring, and when they bloom, they fade away. Here, the Master said the opposite: "When spring goes, a hundred flowers fall, when spring comes, a hundred flowers bloom". Because this is the verse of the Master's public display at the time of his death, reminding the public to be less sad. About to die means about to go, the Master said that this body is the same. If you are present in this world, then go away, just like when spring goes, the flowers fall. However, when the fate comes, the flower blooms, that is, there is a fall and a bloom. That is the impermanence of the world. But in it, "Don't tell the spring to fade away", that is, in the spring the dead flowers are still there: "Last night, There is an apricot branch in front of the yard.” What does that mean? There is also spring. You use words very delicately. The monk did not say there was still a bunch of apricots, but rather a branch of apricots. Because if it is a bunch of apricots, it will fall again, and the apricot branch will still be there. In the next spring, it will bloom again, the flower will fall, but the branch is still there. Here, it is clear that life is impermanent and changeable, and this body is also destroyed accordingly. Just like when a monk was born, he also passed away. But if you go there, will you die? If you meet fate, you will also appear elsewhere. Just like this apricot branch, it will bloom next spring as well, that is, this is impermanent and disappears, but there is the truth in it. So, Buddha said impermanence for people to live back to their own truth, not saying that impermanence is impermanent. Understanding that, then seeing the meaning of impermanence is very deep, not just stopping at the meaning of impermanence. Thereby, we see that the Buddhadharma is profound, inconceivable. The Buddha taught in the Mahayana sutras that this body is called an illusory body. But there is also the dharmakaya, and the dharmakaya does not arise and die. Should the Tathagata Longevity in the Lotus Sutra, the Buddha said that he became a Buddha how long ago? He said that since I became a Buddha, the number of kalpas is immeasurable and boundless, as numerous as dust that cannot be counted. For example, he crushed this whole block of three thousand great thousand worlds into dust, then went through hundreds of thousands of worlds to drop a single speck of dust, dropped all those dusts, and then added up all the worlds that had passed through. to drop dust and not fall dust, grind it all into dust, and then each dust particle is a life. He said that since he became a Buddha, it's been much longer than that dust. So how long is His life? Usually we understand the Buddha's life span is eighty years and then he enters Nirvana. If understood according to the Buddha said in the sutra, will the Buddha enter Nirvana? So the Buddha did not enter Nirvana in the usual sense of cessation. Because we are confused, we see the Buddha entering Nirvana; if we are enlightened, we will see that the Buddha has not entered Nirvana. Because of the Buddha's lifespan as mentioned above, the Buddha who entered Nirvana is the Buddha's body, because it is the reincarnation body, so he was born and then entered Nirvana. The other Buddha still exists. If we can understand like that, we will always see the Buddha being born with us, not entering Nirvana. Everyone has Buddha nature, but the Buddha in himself has also entered Nirvana for an unknown number of kalpas, now what to do for the Buddha to be born again? Come back to enlightenment and see Buddha born! If you see the Buddha being born, you will pass through countless kalpas and enter Nirvana. Just seeing the truth, the cycle of birth and death is like a dream. We think Buddha entered Nirvana but Buddha is still with us. Understanding this way can see the deep reason in the impermanence, not saying that impermanence only stops on the impermanent. Thus, a deep understanding of this principle is enough for us to cultivate for the rest of our lives. Perhaps, from this life to the next life is not finished yet. But because they are familiar with the religion, they ignore it. Hearing about the reason of impermanence is boring to hear, because I have studied a lot and want to hear something more sublime. If you understand correctly, deeply understand the meaning of impermanence, know the application of practice, you can practice for a lifetime, you can also practice to become a Buddha, not an ordinary thing. rather than say impermanent just stop on the impermanent.
