Sutra of Wisdom of the Earth.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH. Detail Category: THE MADHYAMA AGAMA SUTRA MIDDLE LENGTH SAVINGS. T O heard something like this: At one time, the Buddha was traveling in the country of Sāvat, in the forest of Thang Lam, and in the lonely garden of Level. At that time the Blessed One said to the bhikkhus: Now I will tell you about the dharma of ignorance and the dharma of wisdom. Listen, listen, think. The bhikkhus listened obediently. Buddha taught: What is the dharma of stupidity? Stupid people have three: General, stupid criteria and stupid impression. That is, the person who achieves stupidity is said to be stupid. What are three? Fools think with evil thoughts, speak with evil words, and do evil deeds. Therefore, a fool is called a fool. If a fool does not think evil thoughts, speak evil words, and do no evil deeds, then how can a fool be called a fool? Because a fool thinks evil thoughts, speaks evil words, and does evil deeds, a foolish person is said to be stupid. That stupid person right in the present life, body and mind must experience three sorrows. What is the body and mind of a fool who must feel the three sorrows? What behaviors do stupid people do, either sitting in a gathering place, or in a street, alley, or market place, or at a crossroads, saying things that are appropriate for a fool. A fool who kills, steals, commits adultery, lies to wrong views, and accomplishes immeasurable other evil and unwholesome dharmas, and has already accomplished immeasurable other evil and unwholesome dharmas, when others see By speaking of its evil, the fool hears it and thinks to himself: 'If anyone has accomplished immeasurable evil and unwholesome dharmas, when one can see by speaking its evil. I also have immeasurable evil and unwholesome dharmas. If anyone else finds out, they will also say my evil." This is the first sorrow that the ignorant person's body and mind experience in this present life. Again, the foolish saw the king's men tying up the guilty, and treated them with painful punishments such as cutting off hands, feet, limbs, ears, noses, ears, noses, or cut off. pieces of meat, pulling hair out, pulling out beards, or pulling out hairs and beards, or put them in a cage, cover them with clothes and burn them, or cover them with sand, wrap grass and light them on fire, or put them in the mouth of an iron pig, or put in the belly of an iron donkey. , or put it in the mouth of an iron tiger and burn it, or put it in a copper pan, or put it in an iron pan and cook it, or cut it into pieces, or stab it with a sharp point, or use a hook to hook it, or put it on an iron bed, get oil boil down, or sit on the iron mortar and pound it with an iron pestle, or peck the poison dragon, or beat it with a whip, or beat it with a stick, or pierce its head with a tongue, or cut it off. The fool saw it and thought to himself: "If anyone who has accomplished immeasurable evil and unwholesome dharmas knows that I also have immeasurable evil and unwholesome dharmas, if the king knows, I will also be subjected to the same treatment." This is the second sorrow experienced by the body of a fool in this present life. Again, that stupid person commits evil actions in body, speech and mind, and when he is sick and in pain, either sitting on a bed, or lying on a plank, or sitting on the ground, his body and mind are extremely suffering, suffering to the end of life. At that time, its evil actions of body, speech and mind hang upside down from above, just as in the late afternoon the sun goes down on a high mountain and slopes upside down on the earth. Likewise, its evil deeds of body, speech and mind are now hanging upside down from above. The other person thinks to himself, "Those are my bad actions of body, speech, and mind that are being turned upside down from above. In the past I did a lot of evil, did not create blessings, if there was a place for those who do evil, are violent, do unreasonable things, do not do good, do not create blessings, do not seek refuge, take refuge in fear, I went to that evil place.” Then, because of that, regret is born, death is not easy, and the end of life is not peaceful. Again, that stupid person commits evil deeds in body, acts in bad manners in speech, and acts in evil in mind. And after the body commits bad conduct, speech and mind conduct evil conduct, because of that cause and effect, the body breaks down, death, and eventually leads to an evil path, rebirth in hell. Having been born there, it receives a painful retribution, completely unlovable, not pleasant, not agreeable, and inconceivable, then that is hell. Why? Because in that hell is completely unlovable, not pleasant, not intelligible. At that time a monk arose from his seat, lifted his right shoulder, folded his hands towards the Buddha, and said: "World-Honored One, how is suffering in hell?" The Blessed One replied: “Bhikkhu, hell is indescribable. That is to say about suffering in hell. Bhikkhu, because hell is only suffering." The bhikkhu asked again: "Can the Blessed One use an example to clarify the meaning?" The Buddha replied: “It is also possible to use an example to clarify the meaning of that suffering. Monks, it is as if a king's men arrested an enemy and brought him to King Sat Loi Danh Sanh and said: 'Dear Heavenly King, this enemy is guilty of asking the Heavenly King to rule him.' King Satriputta said: 'You should bring him to be treated. In the morning use a hundred sharp spears to stab. The king's men received the order and took it to be punished. In the morning use a hundred sharp spears to stab. But the other is still alive. King Sariputta asked: 'How is that person?' The king's men replied: 'Dear Heavenly King, that man is still alive.' Again King Sariputta said: 'At noon you also pierced with a hundred sharp spears.' The king's men obeyed the order, and at noon pierced them with a hundred sharp spears. The other is still alive. King Sariputta again asked: 'How is the other person?'. The king's men replied: 'Dear Heavenly King, that person is still alive'. Again King Sariputta said: 'In the evening you should also use a hundred sharp spears to stab.' The king's men obeyed the order, and in the afternoon used a hundred sharp spears to stab them. The other is still alive, but the body has been pierced, completely torn, there is no intact place, even though it is as small as a hole in a coin. King Sariputta asked again: 'How is the other person?' The king's men replied: 'Dear Heavenly King, the other man is still alive, but his body is pierced, completely torn, and there is no place intact, even though it is as small as a hole in a coin.' 'How is the other person?' The king's men replied: 'Dear Heavenly King, the other man is still alive, but his body is pierced, completely torn, and there is no place intact, even though it is as small as a hole in a coin.' 'How is the other person?' The king's men replied: 'Dear Heavenly King, the other man is still alive, but his body is pierced, completely torn, and there is no place intact, even though it is as small as a hole in a coin.' “What do you think, bhikkhu? If that person was stabbed by three hundred spears a day, would he, for that reason, suffer extreme pain and sorrow in body and mind?" The bhikkhu replied: "World-Honored One, being stabbed by a spear is still suffering, not to mention being stabbed with three hundred spears a day. Does the other person's body and mind not suffer extreme pain and sorrow?" Then the Blessed One, holding a pea-sized stone in his hand, asked the bhikkhu: “Do you see my hand holding a stone as small as a pea?” The bhikkhu replied: "World-Honored One, I see." The Blessed One asked again: “What do you mean, bhikkhu? This pea-sized stone I hold is comparable to the Snow Mountain King, which one is bigger?" The bhikkhu replied: “World-Honored One, the stone in hand is as small as a pea. If you compare it to King Snow Mountain, it will lose a hundred times, a thousand times, a hundred thousand thousand times, it is completely incomparable, cannot be calculated, cannot be counted. , cannot be example, cannot be compared. Just say that Snow Mountain King is very, very big." The Ton said: "Bhikkhu, if the stone I hold in my hand were as small as a pea, compared with the little Snow Mountain King, I would lose a hundred times, a thousand times, a hundred thousand thousand times over, it would be completely incomparable, impossible to calculate, cannot be calculated, cannot be exemplified, cannot be compared. Just say that Snow Mountain King is very big. In the same way, bhikkhus, if this person is pierced by three hundred spears a day, because of that cause and condition, his body and mind will suffer great pain and grief, which is not a hundred times worse than the suffering in hell. , thousands of times, hundreds of thousands of thousands of times, completely incomparable, unable to calculate, cannot be calculated, cannot be compared, cannot be compared, just said in hell is extremely miserable. What, bhikkhu, is the hell of suffering? Sentient beings in hell, already born there, the good hell grabs them, holds an iron hammer in their hands, and picks up their bodies with red fire. There punish the sinner, or build the eight corners, or build six corners, or build square, or make a circle, or high, or low, or good, or bad. Thus, the sinner is tortured and tortured with excruciating pain. After many years to a hundred thousand years, he experiences immeasurable suffering, extremely painful, but cannot die unless his unwholesome crime has ended. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhu, is hell suffering? Beings are born in hell, have already been born there, the good hell grabs hold of them, holding an iron hammer in their hand with a fiery red fire and burning their bodies. The place for the punishment either built eight corners, or built six corners, or square, or circle, or high, or low, or good, or bad. In this way, sinners are subjected to severe torture and torture, for many years to hundreds of thousands of years, experiencing immeasurable suffering, extremely painful, but cannot die, unless their unwholesome crimes have ended. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhu, is hell suffering? Sentient beings in hell, when they are born there, the good prison grabs them, then takes the iron stake and burns it red, forcibly sits up, then opens the sinner's mouth with iron pliers, takes the burning iron stone, put it in the mouth of the sinner, burn his lips, burn his tongue, burn his teeth, burn his neck, burn his heart, and burn his stomach. Thus, sinners are subjected to severe torture and torture for many years, up to hundreds of thousands of years, experiencing immeasurable suffering, extremely painful, but cannot die, unless the unwholesome crime has ended. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhu, is hell suffering? sentient beings are reborn in hell, once they are born there, the good prison grabs them, then grabs a burning iron stake, forcing them to sit up. Then, with iron pliers, clamps open the sinner's mouth, and then pours boiling copper water over them. into the sinner's mouth, his lips, his tongue, his neck, his teeth, his heart, and his stomach, and then flowed down his body. Thus, sinners are subjected to severe torture and torture for many years, up to hundreds of thousands of years, experiencing immeasurable suffering, extremely painful, but cannot die, unless their unwholesome crimes have ended. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhu, is hell suffering? Beings are reborn in hell, once they are born there, the good hell grabs them, then sets them on fire with iron earth, causing them to lie on their backs, bind their five limbs, and use iron nails to hammer them into their hands and feet. , using a separate nail to drive the sinner's belly. Thus, the sinner is subjected to extreme pain and suffering, after many years to hundreds of thousands of years, experiencing immeasurable suffering, extremely suffering, but the sinner cannot die unless his crime and bad karma Their goodwill ended. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhu, is hell suffering? Sentient beings are reborn in hell when they are already born there, the good hell grasps them, with the iron ground, burning red, forcing the sinner to lie on the ground, pulling his tongue out, using a hundred nails to tighten, not wrinkle, not slack. In the same way, sentient beings who go to hell, once born there, are grabbed by the good prison, with the iron ground burning red, causing the sinner to lie on the ground, pulling his tongue out from his mouth, using a hundred nails. close, tension not wrinkle not wear. Thus, the other person is subjected to extreme pain and suffering, after many years to hundreds of thousands of years, experiencing immeasurable suffering, severe suffering, but he cannot die unless his crimes and unwholesome actions are taken. they destroy. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhu, is the hell suffering? Beings are reborn in hell. Once born there, they are grabbed by the good prison, stripped of their skin from head to toe, and then stripped back from their feet to their heads. They use iron carts to light a red fire, tie criminals in, and stay on top of the hells. iron ground, set it on fire, and dragged the sinner back and forth on it. Thus the other person is tortured to the point of excruciating pain, for many years or even hundreds of thousands of years, experiencing immeasurable sufferings, and sufferings of great severity, but he cannot die, unless he commits crimes and unwholesome actions. spent. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhu, is hell suffering? Sentient beings are reborn in hell, and when they are born there, the good hell grabs them, burns them with fire, spreads them all over the earth, and tells sinners to use their hands to burn cloth on their bodies. Thus the other person is subjected to excruciating pain, after many years, up to hundreds of thousands of years, experiencing immeasurable suffering, extreme suffering, but he cannot die unless he commits an unjust crime. all goodwill. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhu, is hell suffering? Beings are reborn in hell, when they are born there, the good hell grabs them, with a large pan, burns them with red flames, carries the sinner's body upside down, his feet up to the sky, his head to the ground, and then throws them into the pan. Sinners are in a boiling pot of boiling water, the body rises and falls, or drifts on all four sides, frothing on its own and returning to cook the body, as well as all kinds of large beans, small beans, aggregate beans, bitter beans, mustard seeds , put in the same pan filled with water, put on a fierce fire, the beans in the pan either float up and sink, or drift on the sides, the beans foam and then cook again. In the same way, sentient beings are reborn in hell. Once born there, the good prison grabs it, uses a large iron pan, burns it with red flames, turns the sinner's body upside down, turns his feet upwards, turns his head to the ground, and throws him. into a pan with boiling water, the body floats and sinks, or drifts on all sides, foam from the body comes back to cook the body. Such a person is subjected to excruciating pain and suffering, for many years to a thousand years, experiencing immeasurable suffering, extreme suffering. But sinners cannot die unless their unwholesome crimes are eliminated. This is called suffering hell. “What, bhikkhus, is hell suffering? In that hell there is a hell called Six Contacts. If sentient beings are born in it, after having been born there, or are about to be seen by eyes that are not pleasing, it is not pleasant. The mind is not pervasive, not pervasive, the mind is not wholesome, not wholesome. Or sounds heard by the ears, smelled by the nose, tastes tasted by the tongue, tactile in the body, and dharmas known by the mind, not pleasing, not agreeable, not agreeable, not pleasing to the mind, not pleasant. must be smooth, the mind is not good, not good. This is called suffering hell. “O bhikkhus! I have used countless means to tell you about hell, about the things in hell, but the sufferings of hell cannot be overstated. Just say that the hell that sustains only suffering. “O bhikkhus! Sometimes when that stupid person comes out of hell and is born as an animal, that animal is also very miserable. “What, bhikkhus, is animal suffering? If sentient beings are reborn in the animal kingdom, they live in darkness, grow up in darkness, and die in darkness. What species is it? An insect that lives in the soil. That stupid person because in the past was greedy for food. It acts with evil body, bad speech and mind. After acting with evil body, bad speech and mind. Because of that condition, when the body breaks up, after death, he is reborn in an animal species, that is, a species that lives in darkness, grows up in darkness, and dies in darkness. This is called animal suffering. “What, bhikkhus, is animal suffering? If sentient beings are born in the animal kingdom, they live in the body, grow up in the body, and die in the body. What species is it? It is a scabies bacterium. That stupid person, because in the past, engrossed in the taste of food, he acted with evil body, speech and mind. After it has acted with an evil body, bad speech and mind, because of that cause and effect, when the body breaks down and dies, it is reborn in an animal species, that is, it lives in the body, grows in the body, and then dies in the body. This is called animal suffering. “What, bhikkhus, is animal suffering? If sentient beings among animals are born in water, grow up in water, and die in water. What species is it? They are orcas, turtles, crocodiles, borages that lay eggs, old mules. That stupid person, because in the past, engrossed in the taste of food, he acted with evil body, speech and mind. It, after acting with evil body, speech, and mind, then, because of that cause and effect, when the body breaks down, after death, is born in an animal species, that is, lives in water, grows up in water, and then dies in water. This is called animal suffering. “What, bhikkhus, is animal suffering? If sentient beings are born among animals, the species that have teeth to bite, live to eat grass, trees and leaves. What species are they? These are elephants, camels, cows, deer, donkeys, buffaloes and dogs. That stupid person, because in the past, engrossed in the taste of food, he acted with evil body, speech and mind. That, after having acted with bad bodily actions, bad speech and bad mental actions due to that cause and effect, after the breakup of the body after death, he was reborn as an animal with teeth to bite, and lived to eat plants and trees. This is called animal suffering. “What, bhikkhus, is animal suffering? If sentient beings are reborn in the animal kingdom, when they hear the smell of people's excrement, they will run to that place and eat that kind of food. Just like boys and girls, when they hear the smell of food, they run over and say: 'This is food, this is food.' In the same way, bhikkhus, if a living being among an animal, that is an animal, hears the smell of a person defecating, and immediately runs to that place and eats that kind of food. What types are they? These are chickens, pigs, dogs, wolves, crows, pigeons, and old foxes. That stupid person, because in the past greed preceded the real taste. It acts with an evil body, an evil speech and an evil mind. Because of that, when the body breaks up, after death, it is reborn in an animal, that is, an animal that eats unclean excrement. This is called animal suffering. “Monks, I have used immeasurable means to speak to you about animals, about animals. But the suffering of animals cannot be explained. Just say that animals only have suffering. “Bhikkhus, it would be extremely difficult for that foolish person to get out of the animal realm and to be reborn as a human again. Why? Because the other among the animals does not do justice, does not follow the rules of etiquette, does not do good deeds, the animals eat each other. The strong eat the weak, the big eat the small. This, bhikkhu, is full of waters. There was a blind tortoise that lived an immeasurable hundreds of thousands of years. There was a small board on the other side of the water, with only one hole being blown away by the wind. What do you think, bhikkhus? That blind tortoise, can its head get into the only hole in that little piece of light wood?" The bhikkhus replied: “World-Honored One, it is possible to get through, but it takes a long, long time and it is very difficult. The Ton said: "Bhikkhus, or that blind tortoise passed a hundred years, and then it came from the east, raising its head once. That small board with only one hole was moved by the wind from the East to the South. Or when a tortoise with a hundred years of blindness came from the South and raised its head once, the plank with a hole in it, was moved by the wind from the South to the West. Or there is a time when a blind tortoise that has been waiting for a hundred years from the West comes from the West, lifts its head once, and the board has a hole in it, and is blown to the North by the wind from the West. Or when that blind tortoise came from the North and raised its head again, the plank with a hole in it was moved to other directions by the wind blowing from the North. What do you think, bhikkhus? Can the blind turtle get into that hole? The bhikkhu replied: “World-Honored One, even a turtle can get into that hole. But it's been a long, long, and difficult time." “In the same way, bhikkhu, it is very difficult for that foolish person to become a human again from an animal. Why? The other is in the animal kingdom, does not do good deeds, does not follow the rules of etiquette, does not do good deeds, the animals eat each other, the strong eat the weak, the big eat the small. “Bhikkhus, if that foolish person ever came out of an animal kingdom, was reborn as a human, or was born in a household of a lowly caste, ugly, poor, lacking food, finding food very difficult. . What kind of people are they? It's a good prison, a craftsman's house, a craftsman's house, a potter's house, and other lowly houses and that sort of thing. Ugly, impoverished, lack of food, very difficult to earn. They were born in such houses. When you are born there, you will either be blind, or lame, or have short elbows, or hunchback, or use only your left hand, with bad skin, goat face, ugly short life, being used by others. It acts with evil body, bad speech and mind. It, after acting with evil body, speech and mind, because of that condition, after the breakup of the body, after death, it returns to an evil place and is reborn in hell. Just like two people gambling together, one of those two gamblers lost his servant, and lost his wife and children. Then came the body hanging upside down in the smokehouse. That person thinks to himself, 'I don't eat or drink, but in a gamble I lost my servant, my wife and children. Last gamble, my body hanging upside down in the smokehouse.' Monks, that gamble lost very little, only lost servants, lost wives and children, and then the body was hung upside down in the smokehouse. This gamble, bhikkhu, is significant. 'It is an evil action of the body, an evil action of speech and mind.' After acting with bad bodily actions, bad speech and mind, because of those causes and conditions, when the body breaks up, after death, they return to a bad place and are reborn in hell. This new gamble counts 'It's an evil action of the body, an evil action of speech and mind.' After acting with bad bodily actions, bad speech and mind, because of those causes and conditions, when the body breaks up, after death, they return to a bad place and are reborn in hell. This new gamble counts 'It's an evil action of the body, an evil action of speech and mind.' After acting with bad bodily actions, bad speech and mind, because of those causes and conditions, when the body breaks up, after death, they return to a bad place and are reborn in hell. “Bhikkhus, it is not pleasant to do this work, it is impossible to like it, it is not a place to think about. "Isn't it not enough, bhikkhus, to be said like this?" The bhikkhu replied: “Venerable sir, this is indeed the case, having said all those foolish dharmas. Lord Buddha said: “What is the dharma of wisdom? Being an intellectual person has three: the general, the criterion and the intellectual impression. That is, people who have achieved wisdom should say wisdom. “What are three? The wise think with good thoughts, speak good words, and do good deeds. Because he is an intelligent person, he is said to be wise. “If the wise do not think good, do not speak good, and do not do good, how can the wise know that they are wise? Because people with wisdom think good thoughts, speak good things, and do good deeds, a wise person speaks as a wise person. “Those who have wisdom in this present life, body and mind, experience three things of joy. How is a wise person in the present life, their body and mind feel the three things of joy? What behavior does a wise person do, either sitting in a gathering place, or on a main road or alley, or at a market place, or at a crossroads, saying things appropriate to a wise person. A wise person abstains from killing, abstains from taking what is not given, abstains from sexual misconduct, abstains from lying, and even abandons wrong views, attains right views, and accomplishes immeasurable good dharmas. If someone has accomplished immeasurable good dhammas, when others see him, he praises him, the wise man hears it or thinks to himself: 'If someone has accomplished immeasurable good dhammas, and when others see him and praise him, here I am. There are also immeasurable dharmas. If anyone sees it, they will praise me.' This is the first happiness that a wise person can feel in the present life, body and mind. “Again, the wise man saw that the king's men used various punishments to fight robbers, such as cutting off hands and feet, and cutting off limbs, ears, nose, or ears and nose, or cut off pieces. meat, or pull out his hair, and pluck his beard, or even his hair out, or put it in a crib, cover it with a garment, and burn it, or cover it with sand, wrap it in grass, and light it on fire, or put it in the belly of an iron donkey, or throw it inside the mouth of an iron pig, or double it in the mouth of an iron tiger and burn it, or put it in a copper pan, or put it in an iron pan and cook it, or cut it into pieces, or pierce it with a spear, or hook it with a hook, or place it on an iron bed and then boil the oil, or sit on an iron mortar, pound it with an iron pestle, or have a poison dragon peck, or whip it, or beat it with a stick, or hit it with a stick, or pierce its head with a tongue, or stab it to death. When the wise man saw it, he thought: 'If anyone accomplishes immeasurable evil, evil, and unwholesome dharmas, The king knows how to be arrested and tortured. I don't do immeasurable evil, evil, and unwholesome dharmas, if the king knew me, I would not be subjected to such sufferings at all.' This is the second happiness that the wise can feel in the present life, body and mind. “Again, the wise person acts with a wonderful body, a wonderful speech and a mind. When that person is suffering from illness, either lying down on a bed, or lying on a plank, or lying on the ground, or body aching is very painful until the end of his life; actions with the other person's wonderful body, speech and mind, then they hang upside down. For example, in the late afternoon, the sun goes down, the shadows of the high mountains fall on the ground. In the same way, one person's actions with a virtuous body, a wonderful speech and mind, hang upside down from above. He thinks to himself, 'These are actions with wonderful body, wonderful speech and mind, though hanging upside down from above. For at noon we do many merits and do not do evil, if there is a place for those who do not do evil, are not violent, do not do unreasonable things, only do good, create a place of refuge, refuge for fear, then we go to that good place. Therefore, without any regret, because there is no regret, a peaceful death, a peaceful life.' This is the third happiness experienced by the wise in this present life. “Again, that wise person acts in a wonderful body, with a wonderful speech and mind. That person, after practicing wonderful bodily conduct, and having performed wonderfully in speech and mind, due to these causes and conditions, upon the breakup of the body and death, will inevitably go to a good land and be reborn in a heavenly realm. The other person has already been born there, experiencing good results, completely agreeable, completely agreeable, intelligible. If anyone thinks: 'Where is completely agreeable, completely agreeable, intelligible' that place is said to be wholesome. Why? For that auspicious place, completely agreeable, completely agreeable, intelligible.” At that time a bhikkhu, rising from his seat, lifted his right shoulder, folded his hands toward the Buddha, and said: "World-Honored One, what is a good land?" The Blessed One replied: "Bhikkhu, the wholesome base cannot be fully explained, that is to say, speaking of pleasure in a wholesome base, it is only said that a wholesome base has only pleasure." The bhikkhu asked again: "Venerable sir, can you use an example to make it easier to understand?" The Blessed One replied: “It is also possible to use an example to clarify the meaning. For example, the wheel-turning king accomplishes the seven treasures and the four wills of mankind. What do you think, bhikkhu? That wheel-turning king who has fully accomplished the seven treasures and the four as human wills, will there be extreme joy in that king's body and mind?" The bhikkhu replied: "World-Honored One, is it not the attainment of one's human wish-fulfillment and the ultimate enjoyment of happiness, not to mention that the wheel-turning king accomplishes all the seven treasures and the four human wishes-fulfillments, isn't it a feeling of joy and happiness? That extreme?” Then the Blessed One, holding a pea-sized stone in his hand, asked the bhikkhu: “Do you see the pea-sized stone that I hold in my hand?” The bhikkhu replied: "Venerable sir, do you see." The Blessed One asked again: “What do you mean, bhikkhu? The pea-sized stone that I hold here is bigger than the Snow Mountain King, which one is bigger?" The bhikkhu replied: "World-Honored One, the pea-sized stone that the Blessed One holds compared to King Snow Mountain is too small, a hundred times smaller than a thousand, ten thousand times more incomparable, incalculable, incomparable. okay, just saying that Snow Mountain King is very big, too big.” The Blessed One said: "Bhikkhu, if this pea-sized stone that I hold here compares with King Snow Mountain, it would be too small, too small, a hundred times a thousand, ten thousand times smaller, completely incomparable, no, no. Can't calculate, can't give examples, just say that Snow Mountain King is very big, just too big. In the same way, bhikkhus, if the wheel-turning king is fully accomplished and has the four fulfillments of his will, the other king's body and mind experience extreme joy and happiness, compared with the bliss of the heavens, it is too small. , hundreds, thousands of times smaller, cannot be compared, cannot be calculated, cannot be exemplified. That is, joy in the good land, only complete pleasure. “What, bhikkhu, is pleasure in a good land? There is a wholesome base called the six contacts, if sentient beings are born in it, when they are born there, or the form seen by form, eye, pleasant, agreeable, perceptible, mind is well-loved, mind is good and pleasant, then it is a good land. Sound is heard in the ear, tongue is smelled by the nose, taste is tasted by the tongue, touch is in the body, dharma is known by the mind; pleasant, agreeable, agreeable, conceivable, if the mind is well-loved, then that is pervasive craving; if the mind is wholesome, then it is wholesome. That is called the joy in the good land. "Bhikkhu, I have used innumerable means to talk about good lands and tell you about things in good lands. But the joy in the other good land cannot be described. Just say that the good place is completely happy only. “Bhikkhus, if that wise person, sometimes being born in charity, is born in the wrong land, he will be born into a very wealthy family, with innumerable wealth, he will feed many servants and livestock, protect his hamlet, and fill his grain with rice. enough and so many other survival necessities. What kind of people are they? They are the great lay bourgeois, the Satriparian bourgeois, the Pham Chi bourgeois, and other rich men. The money is innumerable, feeds many servants and animals, secures the hamlet, sufficient grain, and many other necessities of life. Born in the wrong house like that, righteous, endearing, respected by many, famous all over the world, of great majesty and virtue, respected by many, mentioned by many. Then he acts wonderfully in body, in speech and in mind. After practicing wonderful bodily conduct, wonderful speech and mind, due to that condition, when the body breaks up, after death, he returns to heaven and is reborn in the heavenly world. For example, two people gamble, in which one eats and continues to play, winning a lot of money. That person thinks, "I don't work in the fields, but the first game I ate and continued to gamble like that, I got a lot of money." This, bhikkhu, is too small of a gamble to have a lot of money. This, bhikkhu, is the new gamble that counts; it is a wonderful bodily action, a wonderful speech and a mind act.
