(Contemplation of the breath)
Entering and exiting means mindfulness, bhikkhus, to be cultivated, to be fulfilled, to lead to great results and great merit. Entering and exiting is instant mindfulness, being cultivated, made perfect, making the four foundations of mindfulness perfect. The four foundations of mindfulness are cultivated, fulfilled, and made perfect for the seven factors of enlightenment. The seven factors of enlightenment are cultivated, fulfilled, and brought to perfection by the knowledge of liberation (vijjavimutti).
And how, bhikkhus, is the practice of entering and exiting mindfulness? What is making contentment? What is great fruit, great merit?
Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu goes to a forest, to a tree, or to an empty house, and sits cross-legged, with his back straight, and mindful in front of him. Mindful, he breathes in; mindful, he breathes out.
Breathing in long, he knows: "I breathe in long". Or breathing out long, he knows: "I breathe out long". Or breathing in short, he knows: "I breathe in short". Or breathing out short, he knows: "I breathe out short". “Feeling the whole body, I will breathe in,” he practices. “Feeling the whole body, I will breathe out,” he practices. "Calm the body and practice, I will breathe in," he practices. "Calm the body, I will breathe out," he practices.
"Feeling joyful feeling, I will breathe in," he practices. "Feeling happy, I will breathe out," he practices. "Feeling pleasant, I will breathe in," he practices. "Feeling pleasant, I will breathe out," he practices. "Feeling mental activity, I will breathe in," he practices. "Feeling mental formations, I will breathe out," he practices. "Calm the mind and practice, I will breathe in," he practices. "Calm the mind, I will breathe out," he practices.
“Feeling the mind, I will breathe in,” he practices. “Feeling the mind, I will breathe out,” he practices. “With a joyful mind, I will breathe in,” he practices. “With a joyful mind, I will breathe out,” he practices. "With a calm mind, I will breathe in," he practices. "With a calm mind, I will breathe out," he practices. "With a liberated mind, I will breathe in," he practices. "With the mind liberated, I will breathe out," he practices.
“Contemplating impermanence, I will breathe in,” he practices. “Contemplating impermanence, I will breathe out,” he practices. "Contemplating detachment from greed, I will breathe in", he practices "Contemplating detachment from greed, I will breathe out", he practices. "Contemplating cessation, I will breathe in," he practices. “Contemplating cessation, I will breathe out, he practices. "Contemplating renunciation, I will breathe in," he practices. “Contemplating renunciation, I will breathe out,” he practices.
Entering and exiting is immediately mindful, bhikkhus, cultivate thus, make it so fulfilling, obtain great results, and obtain great merit.
(Complete the four foundations of mindfulness)
And how, bhikkhus, is entering, exiting, and mindfulness being cultivated? How to make it perfect, to make the four foundations of mindfulness perfect?
When, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu breathes in long, he knows: 'I breathe in long'. Or when he exhales long, he knows "I breathe out long". Or breathing in short, he knows: "I breathe in short". Or when he breathes out short, he knows: "I breathe out short". “Feeling the whole body, I will breathe in,” he practices. “Feeling the whole body, I will breathe out,” he practices. "Calm the body and practice, I will breathe in," he practices. "Calm the body, I will breathe out," he practices. While contemplating the body on the body, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, alert, and mindful in order to subdue covetousness and grief in the world. Monks, with regard to the bodies, I say this is one, that is, breathing in and out. Therefore, bhikkhus, while contemplating the body on the body, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, alert, and mindful in order to subdue covetousness and grief in the world.
When, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu thinks: 'I will breathe in a pleasant feeling,' he trains. "Calm the mind and practice I will breathe in," he practices. "Calm the mind and practice I will breathe out," he practices. While contemplating feelings on feelings, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu abides ardently, fully aware, and mindful, in order to subdue covetousness and grief in the world. As for feelings, bhikkhus, I say this is one, that is, breathing in and out. Therefore, bhikkhus, while contemplating feelings on sensations, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, alert, and mindful in order to control covetousness and grief in the world.
When, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu thinks: 'Feeling the mind, I will breathe in', he practices. “Feeling the mind, I will breathe out,” he practices. “With a joyful mind, I will breathe in,” he practices. “With a joyful mind, I will breathe out,” he practices. “With a meditative mind, I will breathe in,” he practices. “With a meditative mind, I will breathe out,” he practices. “With the mind liberated, I will breathe in,” he practices. "With the mind liberated, I will breathe out," he practices. While contemplating the mind on the mind, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, alert, and mindful, in order to subdue covetousness and grief in the world. Monks, the practice of entering and exiting mindfulness cannot come to those who are not mindful, without awareness. Therefore, bhikkhus, while contemplating mind on mind, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, fully aware, and mindful in order to subdue covetousness and grief in the world.
When, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu thinks: "Contemplating impermanence, I will breathe in", he trains. “Contemplating impermanence, I will breathe out,” he practices. “Contemplating detachment… contemplating cessation… contemplating renunciation, I will breathe in,” he practices. “Contemplating renunciation, I will breathe out,” he practices. While contemplating on dhammas, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, alert, and mindful in order to overcome covetousness and grief in the world. He, due to the cessation of greed and grief, after seeing with wisdom, skillfully looks at things with renunciation. Therefore, bhikkhus, while contemplating dhamma on dhammas, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, alert, and mindful in order to subdue covetousness and grief in the world.
Entering and exiting is instant mindfulness, bhikkhus, thus cultivated, thus made perfect, the four foundations of mindfulness are perfected.
(Complete the seven factors of enlightenment)
And how are the four foundations of mindfulness, bhikkhus, cultivated and fulfilled, leading to the completion of the seven factors of enlightenment?
Bhikkhus, while contemplating the body on the body, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, fully aware, mindful in order to control covetousness and grief in the world, while his non-compassionate mindfulness abides. While his mindfulness of not lethargy is well established, monks, meanwhile, the mindfulness factor of enlightenment is initiated with the bhikkhu. Meanwhile, the bhikkhu-stilts practice mindfulness of enlightenment factors. Meanwhile, the mindfulness enlightenment factor is cultivated by the Male-stilts to perfection.
He abides with such mindfulness, contemplating, reflecting, examining that dhamma with wisdom. Bhikkhus, while dwelling with such mindfulness, a bhikkhu with wisdom contemplates, thinks, and examines that dhamma, while investigating the factor of dhamma enlightenment begins to arise with him. Meanwhile, the bhikkhu-stilts practice investigating the enlightenment factor. Meanwhile, the dharma-enlightenment chi is practiced by Male-stilts to perfection.
While a bhikkhu with wisdom ponders, thinks, and examines that dhamma, non-passive diligence begins to arise with the bhikkhu. While, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu with wisdom ponders, thinks, and examines that dhamma, at the same time non-passive diligence begins to arise with that bhikkhu. Meanwhile, the enlightenment factor of effort is initiated in the Male-stilts. Meanwhile, the bhikkhu-stilts practice diligently the enlightenment factor. Meanwhile, the effort of enlightenment is practiced by Male-stilts to perfection.
Joy unrelated to matter is aroused in the diligent one. While, bhikkhus, joy unrelated to matter arises in a bhikkhu with diligence, while at the same time, joy and enlightenment begin to arise in a bhikkhu. Meanwhile, joyful enlightenment factor is cultivated by the Male-stilts. Meanwhile, happy enlightenment factor is cultivated by Male-stilts to perfection.
His body is joyfully turned into peace of mind, and his mind is also at peace. Bhikkhus, while a bhikkhu with a joyful mind is at peace with the body and at the same time is also relieved of his mind, meanwhile, the factor of disdain for peace of mind begins to arise in the bhikkhu. Meanwhile, disdain for peace of mind is the bhikkhu-stilts practice. Meanwhile, disdain for peace of mind is made by Male-stilts to go to fullness.
A person whose body is light and peaceful, his mind is calm. Bhikkhus, while a bhikkhu has a peaceful and peaceful body, his mind is centered, meanwhile, the factor of concentration begins to arise in a bhikkhu. Meanwhile, the enlightenment factor is bhikkhu-stilts practice. Meanwhile, the enlightenment factor is brought to fullness by Male-stilts.
He with such a concentrated mind, skillfully looks at things with the concept of renunciation. While, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu, with such a concentrated mind, looks at things well with the idea of renunciation, meanwhile, the factor of equanimity begins to arise in a bhikkhu. Meanwhile, discharge enlightenment factor is bhikkhu-stilts practice. Meanwhile, discharge enlightenment factor, is done by Male-stilts to fullness.
Monks, while contemplating feeling on feelings...
Monks, while contemplating mind on mind...
Monks, while contemplating dhammas on dhammas, a bhikkhu abides, ardent, fully aware, mindful with the aim of subduing covetousness and grief in the world, while his mindfulness is established, not comatose. Bhikkhus, while a bhikkhu's mindfulness is established, there is no coma, the factor of enlightenment, meanwhile, is initiated in the bhikkhu. Mindfulness enlightenment factor while being bhikkhu-stilts practice. Mindfulness factor in the meanwhile, is made by Male-stilts to go to fullness. He abides with such mindfulness, contemplating, reflecting, examining that dhamma with wisdom. Bhikkhus, while dwelling with such mindfulness, he contemplates, thinks, and examines that dhamma with wisdom. Trach legal enlightenment factor meanwhile is started up in the place of Male-stilts. Trach dharma, meanwhile, is practiced by Male-stilts. Tracing the enlightenment factor while going to fullness, non-passive diligence begins in him. Bhikkhus, while a bhikkhu ponders, ponders, examines that dhamma with wisdom, and non-passive energy begins to arise in him, the enlightenment factor meanwhile begins to arise. where the Male-stilts. Enthusiasm for enlightenment is cultivated by Male-stilts. Enlightenment effort is made by Male-stilts to fullness. For him, effort is diligent, joy is not related to the arising of matter. While bhikkhus, while a bhikkhu is diligent, and joy unrelated to matter arises, joy and enlightenment meanwhile begins to arise in a bhikkhu. Happy enlightenment factor while being bhikkhu-stilts practice. The happiness factor in the meanwhile is done by Male-stilts to fullness. His body is joyful and peaceful, and his mind is also peaceful. Bhikkhus, while a bhikkhu with a joyful mind is at peace with the body, also with disdain in the mind, Meanwhile, contempt for peace begins to arise in the Male-stilts. Meanwhile, disdain for peace of mind is the bhikkhu-stilts practice. Meanwhile, disdain for peace of mind is made by Male-stilts to go to fullness. A person who has a peaceful mind, at peace, his mind is calm. Bhikkhus, while his body is calm and peaceful, his mind is concentrated, while the factor of enlightenment begins to arise in a monk. Meanwhile, the enlightenment factor is bhikkhu-stilts practice. Meanwhile the enlightenment factor is made by Male-stilts to go to fullness. He with such a calm mind looks at things with the concept of renunciation. While, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu, with such a concentrated mind, looks at things well with the idea of renunciation, while the factor of equanimity begins to arise in the bhikkhu. Meanwhile, discharge enlightenment factor is bhikkhu-stilts practice. Meanwhile, the discharge of enlightenment factor is made by Male-stilts to go to fullness.
Thus, bhikkhus, the four foundations of mindfulness are thus developed, so perfected, so that the seven factors of enlightenment are fulfilled.
(Mind is fully liberated)
And how, bhikkhus, are the seven factors of enlightenment to be cultivated, how are they brought to fruition, and how are they brought to their fullness by the knowledge of liberation?
Here, the Male-stilts, Male-stilts practice mindfulness enlightenment factor, related to separation, related to separation greed, related to cessation, towards renunciation; practice the enlightenment chi ... practice the enlightenment chi ... practice the joy enlightenment chi ... practice the peace and peace chi ... practice the enlightenment chi ... practice discharge enlightenment chi, related to separation, related to the cup of greed , related to cessation, towards renunciation. Thus, bhikkhus, the seven factors of enlightenment are thus cultivated, thus made perfect, and perfected by insight into liberation.
Thus the Blessed One preached. Those bhikkhus gladly accepted the Blessed One's words.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.15/12/2021.
