Dharma Sutras.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
T O heard something like this:
At one time, the Buddha was traveling in the country of Sāvat, in the forest of Thang, in the lonely garden of Level.
At that time, the Blessed One said to the monks:
“I speak of the decay of kusala [02] , neither remaining nor progressing. I speak of the abiding of kusala, not falling back, not progressing. I speak of the advancement of kusala, neither falling back nor stagnating.
“What is the decay of kusala, neither remaining nor progressing? If a bhikkhu is devoted to faith, forbidden to precepts, to literati, to generosity, to wisdom, to eloquence, to the holy teaching, and to to possessing the holy teaching [03] , in regard to these things, he will fail, but not abide. nor increase. It is the decay of kusala, which neither remains nor increases.
“What is the abiding of kusala, not falling back, not progressing? Bhikkhu-stilts if they have faith, forbidden precepts, scholarly literature, almsgiving, wisdom, eloquence, holy teachings and possession of holy teachings; With respect to these dhammas, he abides, but does not rot, does not increase. That is called the abiding of kusala, not falling and not progressing.
“What is the progress of kusala, neither falling away nor remaining? Bhikkhu-stilts have faith, forbidden precepts, scholarly literature, almsgiving, wisdom, eloquence, holy teaching and possession of holy religion; with respect to these he increases, does not rot, does not abide. That is called the advancement of kusala dharma, neither falling back nor staying still.
“A bhikkhu surely gains much benefit if he contemplates thus, 'Do I live a lot with greed or do I live not with much greed? Do we live a lot with an angry mind or not with a lot of anger? Do we live with lore or do we live without? Do we live with a lot of excitement, high tribute or do we live without a lot of excitement, high tribute? We live with many doubts or live without many doubts. Do we live with many avoidance bodies or do we live without many avoidant bodies? Do I live with much impurity or do I live without much impurity? Do we live with many beliefs or do we live with many unbeliefs? Do I live with much effort or do I live with many indulgences? Do we live with a lot of mindfulness or do we live with a lot of non-conceptualism? Do we live with a lot of right concentration or do we live with a lot of indeterminacy? Do I live with much unwholesome wisdom or do I live with a lot of non-evil wisdom?'
“If, when a bhikkhu meditates, he knows that he lives a lot with greed, hatred, unclean mind, incessant restlessness, restlessness and high tribute, doubt, body avoidance, impurity of mind, unbelief, laziness, non-concept, ignorance, and ignorance. If that bhikkhu is centered and lives with much evil wisdom, then that bhikkhu, in order to eradicate these evil and unwholesome dharmas, should urgently seek out means of learning, with utmost diligence in mindfulness, right wisdom, and forbearance, so as not to retreat.
“Like a person whose head is on fire and his shirt is on fire, he urgently asks for means to save his head and his shirt. In the same way, in order to eradicate these evil and unwholesome dharmas, that bhikkhu hastened to seek the means of study, with utmost diligence, mindfulness, right wisdom, forbearance, not letting back.
“If, when a monk meditates, he knows that he is living without much covetousness, without a lot of ill-will, without a lot of constant lobes, without a lot of excitement, without high tribute, without doubt, without body avoidance, without defilement of mind, with faith. , having exertion, having mindfulness, concentration, and living with much non-evil wisdom, then that bhikkhu, wishing to abide in this wholesome dharma, not forgetting, not regressing, cultivating and developing, should urgently seek means. study, diligently, mindfully, righteously, patiently, not to give up.
“Like a person whose head is on fire and his shirt is on fire, he urgently asks for means to save his head and his shirt. In the same way, because a bhikkhu wants to abide in this wholesome dharma, not forgetting, not regressing, cultivating and developing, that bhikkhu has hastened to seek the means of learning, with utmost diligence and mindfulness. , right wisdom, patience, not letting go."
Buddha said so. The Bhikkhu-stilts, after listening to the Buddha's lecture, joyfully served.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.11/12/2021.
