Dhammacetiya sutta (Dhammacetiya sutta).VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
Like this I hear.
Once the Blessed One was in the midst of the Sakka people. Medalumpa is a town of the Sakka population.
At that time, King Pasenadi of Kosala went to Nangaraka because of some business. Then King Pasenadi of Kosala said to Digha Karayana:
— Hey Karayana, prepare your mighty chariots, I want to go to the royal palaces to see the scenery.
— Yes, Your Majesty.
Digha Karayana obeyed King Pasenadi of Kosala, prepared the great chariots, and said to King Pasenadi of Kosala:
— Dear Great King, the great chariot of the United Kingdom has been prepared, now the United Kingdom should do what the United Kingdom thinks is timely.
Then King Pasenadi of Kosala, mounted on a great chariot, went out of Nangaraka with many other mighty chariots, with all the majesty of the king, and went to the royal garden, riding as far as the chariot was left. OK, then got off the bus and walked into the royal garden, while walking back and forth in the royal garden, while walking and enjoying, King Pasenadi of Kosala saw lovely, beautiful, quiet, low noise trees. , empty of people, airy, away from all large gatherings, suitable for contemplation. Seeing this, the king immediately thought of the Blessed One: "Those trees are pleasant, pleasing to the eye, quiet, low-noise, empty of people, well-ventilated, far away from all large gatherings, suitable for this contemplation, rightly so. Here, we pay homage to the Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One." Then King Pasenadi of Kosala said to Digha Karayana:
— Hey Karayana, lovely trees… Right Enlightenment. Now, Karayana, where is the Blessed One, the Arahant, the Fully Enlightened One?
— Dear Great King, there is a town of Sakka people named Medalumpa. There, the World-Honored One, the Arahant, the Fully Enlightened One was residing.
— Hey Karayana, how far is Medalumpa, the town of the people of Sakka, from Nangaraka?
— Dear United Kingdom, not far away, there are three yojana (do week). Can go there during the day.
— So, Karayana, prepare the excellent chariots, we shall go to see the Blessed One, the Arahant, the Fully Enlightened One.
— Yes, sir, Great King.
Digha Karayana obeyed King Pasenadi of Kosala, ordered the preparation of the great chariots, and having prepared the great chariots, he said to King Pasenadi of Kosala:
— Dear Great King, the winning vehicle has been prepared, now Great King do what the United Kingdom thinks is timely.
Then King Pasenadi of Kosala, mounted a great chariot, and with other excellent chariots, went from Nangaraka to Medulampa, the town of the Sakka people, there within the day, and then went to the vihara. The king rode to a place where he could ride, then got out of the car and walked into the monastery. At that time a large number of bhikkhus were walking in the open air. King Pasenadi of Kosala went to those bhikkhus, and after arriving, said to them:
— Now, venerable ones, where is the Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One? We want to see the Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Enlightened One.
— Great King, the Blessed One lives in this house with the doors closed. Approach silently, enter the corridor but do not pass, after clearing your throat, knock on the door lock. The Blessed One will open the door for the Great King.
Then King Pasenadi of Kosala, on that spot, handed over his sword and turban to Digha Karayana. Then Digha Karayana thought to himself: “Now the king wants to go alone. Here, we must stop.” Then King Pasenadi of Kosala went silently to the house with the door closed, after arriving, entered the corridor but did not pass, cleared his throat and knocked on the door lock. The Blessed One opened the door.
Then King Pasenadi of Kosala entered the house, bowed down to the Blessed One's feet, kissed him around the feet of the Blessed One, and rubbed his hands around his feet, saying his name:
— Venerable sir, I am King Pasenadi of Kosala. World-Honored One, I am King Pasenadi of Kosala.
— Your Majesty, what is the reason why you have so condescendingly humbled yourself to this body and shown such affection?
— Venerable sir, I have this tradition (Dhammanvaya) for the Blessed One. “The Blessed One is a fully Enlightened One, the Dharma is well taught by the Blessed One, and the monks and disciples of the Blessed One are well-trained in practice.” Here, World-Honored One, I see many recluses and brahmins who practice the holy life for a limited period of ten, twenty, thirty, and forty years. These people, after a while, well bathed, skillfully waxed, with well-groomed beards and hair, live to enjoy the fullness of the five senses. Here, World-Honored One, I see bhikkhus living a perfect and pure holy life for the rest of their lives, until their last breath. World-Honored One, I don't see out here any other perfect and pure holy life. Venerable Sir, this is my traditional dharma to the Blessed One. “The Blessed One is the Perfectly Enlightened One. The Dharma is well taught by the Blessed One,
Again, World Honored One, kings quarrel with kings, Shadli quarrels with Chadli, brahmins quarrel with brahmins, householders quarrel with householders, mother quarrels with children, children quarrel with mothers, fathers quarrels with children, children quarrel with fathers, brothers quarrel with brothers, brothers quarrel with sisters, sisters quarrel with brothers, friends quarrel with friends. And here, World-Honored One, I see bhikkhus living together in harmony, friendly, not quarreling, in harmony like water and milk, looking at each other with loving eyes. World-Honored One, I don't see out here that there is another perfect and pure holy life. World-Honored One, this is my traditional dharma to the Blessed One: "The Blessed One is a Perfectly Enlightened One, the Dharma is well taught by the Blessed One, and his disciples are well cultivated and practiced by the Sangha."
Again, World Honored One, I travel on foot from one park to another, from one palace to another. There, I saw some recluses and brahmins emaciated, wretched, with bad skin, pale white, with swollen limbs, as if nothing was pleasing to the eye. World-Honored One, I think as follows: "Indeed, these venerable ones live the holy life without joy or have hidden evil deeds. Therefore, these venerable ones are emaciated, miserable, have bad skin, are pale, their limbs are swollen, and there seems to be nothing beautiful for people to see. I went to them and said:
"-Why are the venerable ones emaciated, miserable, with bad skin, pale white, with swollen limbs, as if there is nothing beautiful to see?"
They replied as follows:
"- Dear Great King, we have heirloom diseases".
And here, World-Honored One, I see bhikkhus happy, exhilarated, joyful, with senses at ease, unwavering, calm, living on the happiness and offerings of others, with the same mind as myself. wild animals. World-Honored One, I think as follows: "Indeed, these venerable ones are aware of some great excellence in the Blessed One's teaching, a gradual achievement, so these venerable ones are happy and excited. arising, joyful, comfortable, unwavering, calm, living on the happiness and offerings of others, with a mind like a wild animal. World-Honored One, this is my traditional dharma to the Blessed One: "The Blessed One is a Perfectly Enlightened One, the Dharma is well taught by the Blessed One, and his disciples are well-trained in the Sangha."
Again, World-Honored One, I am a king of Shadi, who has given empowerments, can execute those who deserve to be executed, punish those who deserve to be punished, and expel those who deserve to be punished. expulsion. But, venerable sir, when I was sitting in court, someone sometimes interrupted my speech. And you didn't have a chance to say, "Gentlemen, don't interrupt me while I'm sitting in court. Please wait until I'm done." World-Honored One, yet someone still interrupts me. And here, venerable sir, I see bhikkhus, while the Blessed One preaches the Dharma to his disciples of hundreds, while not a single sneeze or cough arose. Once upon a time, World Honored One, while the Blessed One was preaching the Dharma to his disciples of hundreds, one of the Blessed One's disciples coughed. A fellow Brahman lightly tapped his knee and said: "Be quiet, venerable sir, don't make noise. World Religion, our Teacher is teaching the Dharma." World-Honored One, I had the following thought: "How wonderful! How miraculous! This audience is well trained, no sticks, no swords. World-Honored One, I don't see, besides this group of monks, there is another group of monks so well-trained as this one. World-Honored One, this is my traditional dharma to the Blessed One: "The Blessed One is a Perfectly Enlightened One, the Dharma is well taught by the Blessed One, and his disciples are well-trained in the Sangha."
Again, World-Honored One, I see here a number of learned, tactful, and debatable suttas who argue and argue like a split hair. These people go here and there, as if to destroy wrong views with their wisdom. They heard: "The recluse Gotama will visit this village or this town". They were about to ask the question: “We will ask the recluse Gotama this question after we arrive. When we are asked like this, if the recluse Gotama answers like this, we will ask like this. When asked like this by me, if the recluse Gotama answers like that, then we will question him like that." They heard: "The recluse Gotama has visited this village or town." These came to the recluse Gotama. The recluse Gotama with the Dharma talk introduces them to them, encourages them, makes them excited, and makes them happy. Being exhilarated by the recluse Gotama, with his Dharma talk, he encouraged and inspired him. make them happy, they don't ask the recluse Gotama (predestined) questions, let alone interrogate! On the contrary, they became disciples of the recluse Gotama. This is my tradition, venerable sir, for the Blessed One: "The Blessed One is a Perfectly Enlightened One, the Dharma is well taught by the Blessed One, and his disciples, the Sangha, practice well."
Again, World-Honored One, I see here a number of learned Brahmins... A scholarly householder, a learned and delicate recluse, who argues and argues, argues like splitting a hair, who going here and there as if to destroy the wrong views… they do not ask the recluse Gotama (predestined) questions, let alone interrogate. On the contrary, they applied for ordination, renounced the family, and lived without family. The Blessed One allowed them to be ordained. Having been ordained in this way, some of them live alone, without distraction, exerting themselves, diligently, and soon, self-realizing with direct knowledge, realizing attainment and staying in the present moment for the ultimate goal. of the holy life that true good men who have left home, left home, and lived without family are aiming for. They say this: “We are indeed near ruin! Indeed we are near destruction! In the past, we were not samanas, but we considered ourselves as samanas. Not a Brahmin considers himself a Brahmin, not an Arahant considers himself an Arahant. Now we are the real samanas. Now we are really Brahmins. Now we are really Arahants." World-Honored One, this is my traditional dharma to the Blessed One: "The Blessed One is a Perfectly Enlightened One, the Dharma is well taught by the Blessed One, and his disciples are well-trained in the Sangha."
Again, World-Honored One, Isidatta and Purana are the two officials who keep the horses, eat my food, ride my chariot, and live my life given to them, and it is I who give them fame. But they do not condescend to me as they condescend to the Blessed One. Once, Lord, while marching against an opposing army, and wanting to test Isidatta and Purana, two horse-keepers, I came to live in a narrow house. Then, venerable sir, the two horse-keepers, Isidatta and Purana, having discussed the Dhamma together for more than midnight, then lay down to sleep, with their heads turned towards the direction where they had heard the Blessed One was and with feet towards the child. World-Honored One, I think thus: "How wonderful! How miraculous! These two horse-keepers, Isidatta and Purana, eat my food, ride my chariot, make a living given to them, and I bring fame to them myself. But they do not condescend to me as they condescend to the Blessed One. Indeed, these people are aware of some wonderful excellence in the teachings of the Blessed One, a gradual attainment." World-Honored One, this is my traditional dharma to the Blessed One: "The Blessed One is a Perfectly Enlightened One, the Dharma is well taught by the Blessed One, and his disciples are well-trained in the Sangha."
Again, World-Honored One, the Blessed One belongs to the lineage of the sages, and I am also of the sect. The Blessed One is a native of Kosala, and I am also a native of Kosala. The Blessed One was eighty years old, and I am also eighty years old. Because the World-Honored One belongs to the lineage of Chas-di and I also belong to the lineage of Chas-di; because the Blessed One is from Kosala country, I also belong to Kosala people; because the Blessed One was eighty years old, I was also eighty years old; so I am ready to humble myself to the extreme, to the Blessed One, and to show affection. World-Honored One, we have to go now, we have a lot of work to do and a lot of duties to do.
— Great King, King do what you think is timely.
Then King Pasenadi of Kosala got up from his seat, bowed down to the Blessed One, turned his right body towards him, and departed.
When King Pasenadi of Kosala departed not long ago, the Blessed One called to the bhikkhus:
— Monks, this is King Pasenadi of Kosala. After uttering the dignified dharmas, the king got up from his seat and left. Monks, learn the dignified dhammas. Thoroughly comprehend the dignified dharmas. Monks, uphold the dignified dharmas. These dignified dhammas, bhikkhus, are related to the goal, the basis of the holy life.
Thus the Blessed One preached. Those bhikkhus gladly accepted the Blessed One's words.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.2/12/2021.
