The sixth sutta: The law that has the Noble Eightfold Path has the four saints.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
The first day the Buddha preached Zhuan Falun, he said that the Noble Eightfold Path would lead to Nirvana, and until the last day before he entered Nirvana, he still mentioned that the Noble Eightfold Path needs to be cultivated, there will be four Saints mentioned in the Sutras. set of 16 as follows:
The original text of the Pali - Vietnamese scriptures.
23. At that time, the ascetic Subhadda stayed at Kusinàrà. Ascetic wanderer Subhadda heard: "Tonight in the last watch, the recluse Gotama will pass away."
And the ascetic Subhadda thought: "I have heard the great old ascetics, the guru and his disciples say, 'It's very rare that the Tathagata, Avalokiteshvara, Rightly Enlightened One appear into the world. And tonight, in the last watch, the recluse Gotama will pass away.
24. Then the ascetic Subhadda went to Upavattana, the Sàla forest of the Mallà people, went to the place of venerable Ananda and said to him:
- Friend Ananda, I heard wandering ascetics, senior monks, and disciples say, "It is very rare for the Tathagata, the Arhat, and the Perfectly Enlightened One to appear into the world, and tonight, on the last watch, the recluse Gotama will perish." Now this doubt arises in my mind. I believe the recluse Gotama can explain the solution to my question. Friend Ananda, allow me to have an audience with the recluse Gotama.
When being told so, the venerable Ananda said to the ascetic Subhadda:
- Stop it, sage Subhadda, don't disturb the Tathagata. The Blessed One is tired.
The second time, the ascetic Subhadda ... The third time, the ascetic Subhadda said to the venerable Ananda:
- Friend Ananda, I heard wandering ascetics, senior monks, and disciples say, "It is very rare for the Tathagata, the Arhat, and the Perfectly Enlightened One to appear into the world, and tonight, on the last watch, the recluse Gotama will perish." Now this doubt arose in my mind. I believe the recluse Gotama can explain the solution to my question. Friend Ananda, allow me to have an audience with the recluse Gotama.
The third time, the venerable Ananda said to the ascetic Subhadda:
- Stop it, sage Subhadda, don't disturb the Tathagata. The Blessed One is tired.
25. The Blessed One heard the story of the venerable Ananda with the ascetic Subhadda, and he immediately said to the venerable Ananda:
- Come on, Ananda, don't hinder Subhadda, Ananda, let Subhadda be allowed to see the Tathagata. What Subhadda asked Me was asking for understanding, not to annoy Me. And what I answer the questions, Subhadda will understand the meaning quickly.
Venerable Ananda immediately said to the ascetic Subhadda:
- Hey sage Subhadda, come in. The Blessed One allowed the Sage.
26. Then the wandering wanderer Subhadda went to the Blessed One, said greetings and asked politely, then sat down to one side. After sitting to one side, the ascetic Subhadda said to the Blessed One:
- Venerable Gotama, there are ascetics and brahmins who are guild masters, rabbis, and head monks of the church, with good reputations, fame, founders of sects, revered by the masses. , like Pārana Kassapa, Makkhali Gosàla, Ajita Kesakambalì, Pakadha Kaccayana, Sanjaya Belatthiputta, Nigantha Nàthaputta, are all of these enlightened as they claim to be, or are they all unenlightened, or one some enlightened and some unenlightened?
- Come on, Subhadda, let's put this matter aside: "Are all these enlightened as they claim to be, or are all unenlightened, or are some enlightened and some unenlightened". O Subhadda, I will teach you the Dharma. Listen and ponder carefully, I will speak.
- Yes, venerable sir!
The ascetic Subhadda obeyed the Blessed One. The World-Honored One said the following:
27. - Hey Subhadda, in any law there is no Noble Eightfold Path, here there is no First Sa-Mon, here also no Second-Sa-Mon, and no Third Sa. -mon, there is no fourth ascetic. In the law, Subhadda, there is the Noble Eightfold Path, here there were the first ascetics, there were also the second ascetics, there were also the third, there were also the fourth. It is in this law, Subhadda, that there is the Noble Eightfold Path. In this time, Subhadda, there is the first ascetic here, the second here as well, the third as well as the fourth, and the fourth here. subject. The other non-Buddhist systems are devoid of recluses. Subhadda, if these bhikkhus lived righteously, there would be no arahants in this world.
O Subhadda, in the twenty-ninth year,
I left home in search of truth and goodness.
Fifty years with one more year
Since
ordination, Subhadda, I am a monk, a monk, a monk, and a monk.
Outside of this realm, there is no first or second, nor third, nor fourth. The other non-Buddhist systems are devoid of recluses. Subhadda, if the bhikkhus lived righteously, there would be no Arahants in this life.
Author analysis.
On the first day of Zhuan Falun, the Buddha introduced the Eightfold Noble Path that will lead to Nirvana, and until the last hours before Parinirvana, still repeating the Eightfold Noble Path, there will be four recluses. Thus, the consistent teachings of the Buddha throughout from the first days to the end of his life still teach the Noble Eightfold Path.
The Buddha affirmed that only practicing the Noble Eightfold Path can there be four saints, but why do today's practitioners not listen to the teachings of the Blessed One? There is a passage in the sutta 107 that reads:
" In the same way, brahmin, while there is nirvana, while there is the way to nibbana, and while there is My face is my guide, but my disciples, taught thus by Me, taught thus, some have attained the final goal of Nirvana, some have not. -mon, what can I do? The Tathagata is only a guide."
As a passage in the Central Sutra No. 22 also writes as follows: " Bhikkhus, in the past as well as in the present, I speak only of suffering and the cessation of suffering." .
Author analysis.
With the above-mentioned suttas, Buddhists do not worry about learning the Four Noble Truths, but Suffering is the Law of Dependent Origination and the Cessation of Suffering is the Law of Dependent Cessation and the Dao Truth is the seven paths, but the Noble Eightfold Path and the Four Foundations of Mindfulness are mentioned the most. compared to the other five paths. We should try to know the Four Noble Truths clearly in order to have the fruit of Saint Stream-winner first.
If the disciples of the Tathagata today do not preach the Four Noble Truths, but worry about preaching what the Tathagata does not teach, they will go to hell for a lifetime. Please think carefully about the Sutra Disrupting the Harmony of the Sangha extracted from the Sutra of the Ten Dharma Sangha before preaching.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.11/10/2021.
