THE PRESTIGE OF MEMBERSHIP.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SKAYA CLAN CHAN TANH. In the Mettāsutta [1], the Buddha taught that there are 11 treasures of loving-kindness as follows: “Bhikkhus, when the meditator of the mindfulness of loving-kindness scatters, leading to the attainment of the rupa-sphere jhānas, has practiced for a long time, has become mature, making his concentration steady and steady in sequence. , has accumulated much, has been diligently unceasingly, so the meditator obtains the eleven treasures as follows: 1- Sleep peacefully. 2- Wake up in peace. 3- Do not see nightmares. 4- Be loved and cherished by everyone. 5- Be loved and cherished by non-human goods. 6- Being protected by the gods. 7- Fire or poison or weapons... can't do any harm. 8- The mind is easily calm. 9- Bright face. 10- At the time of death, the mind is not confused (clear mind). 11- The subject of mindfulness and loving-kindness is capable of attaining the mundane jhānas (except for the fifth meditation); if he has not yet become an Arahant, after his death, his acquired form meditation will result in rebirth in the Brahma world of form. “Bhikkhus, when the meditator of the mindfulness of loving-kindness scatters, leading to the attainment of the rupa-sphere jhānas, has practiced for a long time, has become mature, making his concentration steady and steady in sequence. , has accumulated much, has been diligent incessantly, so the meditator has 11 such treasures. Explain: 1- How to sleep peacefully? - For those who do not recite and scatter loving-kindness, their minds are often angry, irritable and angry, so when they lie down to sleep and worry all night, even if they lie still, they still can't fall asleep. not at peace. - For the meditator who conducts mindfulness of spreading loving-kindness, the body and mind is pure, when he sleeps easily, sleep is the time to rest, so he can sleep peacefully like a meditator. 2- How to wake up peacefully? - For those who do not recite loving-kindness, when they fall asleep because they are tired, when they wake up, they do not want to get up, but have to wake up, so they cannot be at peace. - For the meditator who conducts mindfulness of spreading loving-kindness, when he sleeps easily, he sleeps well, rests, so when he wakes up, he is at peace. 3- Do not see the nightmares like? - For those who do not think about spreading loving-kindness, lying down and not sleeping well; when I'm neither sleeping nor awake, so it often happens that I see horrible nightmares, such as: dreaming of wild animals chasing me, people surrounding me, falling into a deep hole, etc. Waking up feeling nervous and scared. - For the meditator, scattering loving-kindness, lying down to sleep well; When I don't have to sleep well or wake up, it often happens that I dream that I'm flying around here and there, feeling very excited, or I dream that I go to visit a stupa, listen to Dharma, etc. before good things, good things will happen in the future, etc... when waking up, remember clearly, feel satisfied, peaceful. 4- How are people loved? - For those who do not recite loving-kindness to all sentient beings, including mankind, do not seek the benefit, evolution, or peace of all mankind, that is to say, someone who does not have love. people, then he or she does not receive love in return, which is also natural justice. - For the meditator, spreading loving-kindness to all sentient beings, including mankind, wishing for the benefit, evolution, and long-term happiness to all sentient beings, especially all mankind. . When the practitioner interacts with people, loving-kindness is expressed in the body: the body acts in accordance with loving-kindness; loving-kindness is expressed through speech: words in accordance with loving-kindness; Loving-kindness is in harmony with the consciousness of wishing for the benefit, evolution, and lasting peace to all sentient beings, especially all human beings. Therefore, the practitioner is loved and respected by everyone. 5- How are you loved and cherished by non-human goods? Non-human means not human, referring to all other species of beings such as Brahma, devas, hungry ghosts, atula species, animals... are called non-humans. - For the non-mindful person who spreads loving-kindness to all sentient beings, including the non-human beings, so the non-human beings are not only unloving, but can also cause all kinds of harm and all obstacles. for that person. - For the meditator, spread loving-kindness to all sentient beings, including non-human beings, making non-human beings feel cool and comfortable, generating satisfaction and joy, not only wanting to be close. close to the practitioner, but also love, respect and protect the practitioner to live in peace. Take examples such as: * Some bhikkhus settled down in the mountain forest, formerly, the bhikkhus without mindfulness spread loving-kindness to all sentient beings, the group of devas in the tree-place in that forest felt displeased, Unable to endure suffering, they transformed into terrifying images, horrible sounds, etc., causing the bhikkhus to generate fear and sickness, leaving the forest and mountain to return to the Buddha. Ton, please allow me to settle down in another place. The World-Honored One, considering that the old abode was favorable, he advised those bhikkhus to return to their old residence, and the Blessed One preached the Mettāsutta Sutta. The bhikkhus listened and followed his teachings. Later, when returning to the old mountain forest, the bhikkhus carried out the recitation of loving-kindness, and the group of devas at the tree-tree in that forest sensed the bhikkhus' loving-kindness, so their hearts were exceedingly joyful. , welcome the bhikkhus, love, respect, and protect the bhikkhus who live in peace during the summer retreat in that mountain forest. The bhikkhus conduct the subject of mindfulness and spread loving-kindness as the foundation, and then conduct insight meditation, they all realize the truth of the Four Noble Truths, attain the 4 Noble Paths - the 4 Noble Fruits and Nirvana, and become the Noble Ones. A noble arahant, during the summer retreat in that mountain forest. * Another case, Venerable Visakha often conducts mindfulness of spreading loving-kindness to all sentient beings, he came to live in Cittala mountain to conduct insight meditation for four months, then one night he decided that: "In the morning and in the morning. Tomorrow, I will leave this place and go to another place.” When he went to sleep, the gods at the tree came to the stairs (where his cup was) sat crying, the Venerable Venerable heard the cry and asked: - Who's crying? - Dear Venerable Master , I am the male deva Manila. - The white gods. "Hey man, Maṇila, why have you come here to cry?" - Dear Venerable Master, I know that you will leave this place tomorrow, so I cry. - Manila, the poor monk living in this place, what is the benefit to you? - Dear Venerable Sir, some time ago, when you did not come to live in this place, the group of gods here used to be angry, often quarreled with each other, living together was not peaceful at all. But since he came to live here, the group of devas felt his loving-kindness, all felt cool, so they lived together in harmony, loved and respected each other, lived very peacefully. If tomorrow, he leaves this place, that group of gods will generate anger, quarrel and quarrel with each other again as before, it will be very painful! I was afraid that that suffering would happen again, so I was sad, I cried. White Sir. Listening to the male deity Maṇila expressing his fear, the Venerable Venerable consoled that: - Manila, the poor monk living in this place brings benefits and peace to you like that, the poor monk will not go elsewhere. The male deva Maṇila felt extremely happy, all the gods there were also pleased and happy, they all loved and respected him. The Venerable Master conducted wisdom meditation, realized the truth of the Four Noble Truths, attained the 4 Noble Paths - the 4 Noble Fruits and passed away Nirvana at that mountain. - Not only do all the devas who love and respect the practitioner perform the recitation of loving-kindness, but also all the animals that love and respect people with loving-kindness. As in the case of Bodhisattva Suvannasāma living with his parents, two blind ascetics in the forest, he practiced the perfection of compassion , so the animals loved and respected him. Wherever he went, they followed him, entwined with him and did not leave each other. - And in the case of the elephant Nālāgiri , a very cruel murderer, Bhikkhu Devadatta plotted to use it to kill the Buddha. With the approval of King Ajātasattu, he let the elephant Nālāgiri drink like crazy and then released it on the way that the Buddha and the Venerable monks went to Rājagaha for alms. Elephant Nālāgiri, seeing the Blessed One coming from afar, raised his trunk, fanned his ears, and bent his tail, running straight to him. The World-Honored One scattered loving-kindness to it and called in a sweet and affectionate syllable, saying: - Dear Nālāgiri , come here with the Tathagata. The elephant Nālāgiri was vicious in his mad drunkenness, but when he heard the sweet and affectionate offense arising from the Buddha's loving kindness , he immediately opened his eyes, raised his head, and looked at his golden body radiating loving-kindness, making the intoxication mad. The madness disappeared, the mind awakened, thanks to the power of the Buddha's loving-kindness , the elephant Nālāgiri lowered his trunk, obediently walked to and knelt respectfully at the feet of the Blessed One... And there are many other similar cases. Practitioners carry out the mindfulness of spreading loving-kindness to all sentient beings, including the non-human beings. Practitioners will be loved and respected by non-humans like this. 6- How to be protected by the gods? - For a person who does not think and spread loving-kindness, the gods are not close to him, so they do not protect him. - For the practitioner who conducts the mindfulness of spreading loving-kindness to all sentient beings, because loving-kindness is cool, the gods like to be close and close, so they often protect him. 7- How can fire or poison or weapons... can't do any harm? - For non-mindful people scattering loving-kindness, fire or poison or weapons... can harm that person, that's normal. - For the practitioner who conducts the mindfulness of scattering loving-kindness, fire or poison or weapons... can't harm the practitioner, because the power of loving-kindness is so extraordinary, it can neutralize those things into nothing. signs, so they cannot harm the practitioner. Hot butter oil does not burn people with loving-kindness Citing the case of the integration of her Uttarā [2] the daughter of the wealthy Puṇṇa, is a female attendant who has attained the status of a Saint of Stream -entry, has pure and unwavering faith in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha; Her husband is also the son of a rich man in the city of Rajagaha, a family of wrong views, having no faith in the Three Jewels. Therefore, since returning to live with her husband's family, she has not had the opportunity to do good deeds, give alms to the Buddha, monks and listen to the Dharma, because she has a duty to serve her husband, so and free time. One day she asked a maidservant: - Hey, how many more days until the end of the summer retreat season of the Bhikkhu Sangha? - Madam, there are 15 days left! - Maid said. She immediately sent someone to inform her father, the rich Puṇṇa, knowing her situation. The rich man heard that his daughter was suffering like this, so he sent an amount of 15,000 kahāpana (ancient Indian money) and taught that: "There is a prostitute Sirimā in the city, hiring her a day and night is 1,000. co kahapana. With this money, I can hire her to serve my husband for 15 days, and I have free time to make offerings to the Buddha, the monks and listen to the Dharma." She Uttara obey the teachings of his father, the geisha rent Sirima on, give her the amount of VND15,000 kahapana then because she worried her husband served for 15 days and nights, until the date to chronic lower. The prostitute Sirimā happily agreed immediately. She led the prostitute Sirimā to introduce to her husband, saying: – Dear husband, this is my girlfriend, who will take care of and serve him for the next 15 days and nights from today; so that I have time to make offerings to the Buddha and the monks and listen to the Dharma. Seeing the beauty of the prostitute Sirimā, her husband immediately agreed. Then she came to pay respects to the Blessed One and said: - Dear World-Honored One, I respectfully request that you and the Venerable Monks, for half a month from tomorrow, only receive food at my house. The Blessed One accepted her invitation by silence. She Uttara extremely joyful thought: "From tomorrow until the day ceremony Mahapavarana, we will be blessed to donations to the monks Venerable Buddha Sangha and will be listening to the French". Every day, Uttarā herself arranged to take care of all the cooking work in the big kitchen, directing everyone to make delicious food and drink, to make offerings to the Buddha and the Venerable Monks, spent 14 days as so. On the next day, on the great day of Mahāpavāraṇā, her husband stood on the castle, looked out of the window and saw her toiling, worried about moving people to make food and drink, and thought with a reproachful thought about her that : "What a fool, enjoying peace like this not to accept, but to work hard to make food and drink to give to bald men", then laughed mockingly and left. The prostitute Sirimā saw the rich man's son smiling, wanting to know who he was laughing at, she went to that window and saw Uttara, she thought he was smiling at her. In the past few days, serving Uttarā 's husband , she forgot her identity, so she became jealous of Uttarā, From the castle she hurried down to the kitchen, huffing to the lady Uttarā. Reaching the pan of boiling butter oil, immediately scooped up a ladle of hot butter oil and walked over to Uttarā. Seeing the prostitute briefly , Uttarā spread loving kindness to her, saying: "My girlfriend has helped me, the whole world is still narrow, from here to the brahma realm is still low, and your merits are still with you. Girlfriend is so big and tall. It was I who relied on her to make offerings to the Buddha and the great monks, and to listen to the Buddha's Dharma. If we have anger towards her, the hot butter oil will burn our skin; But if I don't have anger towards her, the hot butter oil won't burn me." Just then, the prostitute Sirimā splashed hot butter oil on her head and face, the hot butter oil turned into cold water, due to the power of her loving-kindness . Seeing this, the group of maids ran over and beat the prostitute Sirimā to the ground, she stopped the group of maids, then went to help her up, bathed her with warm water, comforted her. The prostitute Sirimā fully awakened, realizing her guilt towards Uttarā, she bowed down and begged for forgiveness. The Uttara said: - My friend, when my Father forgives, then I will forgive your sins. – Good luck! I will go to the rich man, your father to forgive my sins, and then you will forgive me too! - The courtesan Sirimā said. – The rich man is only the father that I rely on in the scene of birth and death; I mean: when the Father, the Father whom I rely on to free me from the cycle of birth and death, forgives you, then I will. - Who is that lady Duc Tu Phu? - That Father-in-law is the World-Honored One. – I have never been close to Him, please help me! - Tomorrow the Father Tu and the Venerable Monks will come here to receive food, you should come here to make offerings to him and ask him to forgive your sins. – taught by Uttara . – Good luck! Dear sister. The prostitute Sirimā returned home, encouraged 500 female entourage to prepare delicious food, to bring the next day to make offerings to the Blessed One and the Venerable Monks. The next day, the prostitute Sirimā and her group of 500 female entourage brought delicious food, along with her, Uttarā, and offered it to the Blessed One and the Venerable Monks. After Buddha finished real life, she Uttara guide geisha Sirima introduced to Buddha. The prostitute Sirimā and her group of 500 female entourage bowed down to the Blessed One, then respectfully asked the Blessed One to forgive her sins. The Blessed One then asked: - What are you guilty of? “Dear World Honored One, yesterday I was completely confused, because of jealousy, I poured a ladle of hot butter oil on the head and face of Sister Uttarā , my master. Thus, I have sinned too great for her, do I ask her to forgive my sins; but she said, only when the Blessed One forgives my son's sins, then she will forgive. – White prostitute Sirimā . - Is it true, Uttarā, son? – asked the Blessed One. - Dear World-Honored One, it is true. - White Uttara . Then the Blessed One asked Uttarā what do you think about the actions of the prostitute Sirimā. She Uttara was transparent to him when she had laid her kindness to her, the other hot butter oil should shells started breaking up, on her face, like breaking a cold water, not hot burn anything. At that time, the Blessed One accepted the confession of the prostitute Sirimā, and then he preached a verse to the girl Uttarā , and at the same time also sacrificed the prostitute Sirimā and her group of female attendants : “Akkodhena jine kodhaṃ, Asādhuṃ sādhunā jine. Jine kadariyaṃ dānena, Sacce nāli kavàdinaṃ” . [3] (Hey, son of Ut-ta-rā! Conquering the angry, With a mind free from anger. Overcoming the wicked, By noble dharma. Overcoming the miser, By meritorious almsgiving. Overcoming the speaker. lie, By telling the truth). After the prostitute Sirimā and her group of 500 female entourage listened to the Buddha finished speaking the verse, she and the group of 500 female entourage realized the truth of the Four Noble Truths, attained Stream-entry, Saint-Fruit, and Nirvana. Table, become a Saint of Stream-entry. Poison can't harm someone with loving-kindness - In the case of Venerable Cūḷasiva, he often recites loving kindness every day. One day, he was reciting the Saṃyuttanikāya, a poisonous snake fell from a tree and bit him, but the poison could not harm him, because of his loving-kindness power. Weapons can't harm people with loving-kindness Empress Sāmāvatī . Queen Samāvat The case of Queen Samāvatī's main palace [4] is summarized as follows: Ms. Sāmāvatī, Ms. Suladattā, Ms. Māgaṇṇiyā are the three chief queens of King Udena of Kosambī. The main palace Queen Sāmāvatī along with a group of 500 female entourage are all Saints of Stream- entry, have pure faith in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha firmly in special cases. Because Ms. Sāmāvatī and a group of female entourage lived in the inner palace, were not allowed to contact outside and at that time King Udena did not have faith in the Three Jewels, so he did not invite the Buddha or the Venerable Monks to the palace. sermon electricity. So, what is the cause and effect of the Queen Sāmāvatī and her entourage of girlfriends becoming a Stream- winner? Queen Sāmāvatī's main palace had a maidservant named Khujjuttarā , who was given an amount of 8 kahāpana by the king every day , instructing this maid to buy flowers and bring them to her. The maidservant came to buy flowers at Mr. Sumana 's shop , but normally she only bought 4 kahāpana , and the remaining 4 kahāpana she took as her own. Once, the Buddha and the Venerable Monks came to Kosambī to save the people of that land, at the invitation of three rich men: the wealthy Ghosita built the Ghositārāma temple , the wealthy Kukkūṭa built the temple. temple Kukkutarama and rich Pavarika have built temples Pavarikarama make offerings to monks from the Buddha quartet methods have proven chaired. One day, Mr. Sumana 's shop was honored to invite the Buddha and the Venerable Monks to do almsgiving and offering food. Khujjuttara 's maidservant came to buy flowers as usual, that day, because she was worried about making food and drinks, making offerings to the Buddha and the Venerable Sangha, Mr. Sumana asked Khujjuttara to happily wait for the offerings to be finished and listen to the Dharma. , then he will make garlands to sell to her. Ms. Khujjuttara thought this was a good opportunity, she had a good chance to meet the Buddha and the Venerable Monks, to hear the Dharma, so she happily agreed to wait. When the Buddha and the Venerable Monks finished their meal , the Buddha preached the Dharma, Ms. Khujjuttarāalso sit and listen to the Dharma. After the Buddha finished preaching, she immediately realized the truth of the Four Noble Truths, attained the Noble Truth of Stream-entry, and became a Saint of Stream-entry (the first saint in Buddhism). After she had become a stream-enterer saint, with absolutely pure morality, that day she bought flowers with the full amount of 8 kahāpana , brought to the main palace Queen Sāmāvatī . - Hey, boy, today the King gives twice as much money, but you buy twice as many flowers as usual? ' asked the Empress Dowager. - Not so. Lord Chief of the Queen's Palace. - The maidservant. – Hey, why are there twice as many flowers today? – Dear Chief Palace Queen, because every day, the King gives 8 kahāpana , but I only buy flowers with 4 kahāpana , the remaining 4 kahāpana I take as my own. But today, I bought 8 kahāpana flowers , so I have twice as many flowers as usual. - Hey, why don't you take less today like before? - Dear Queen, because today I have heard the Dharma of the Buddha, I have realized the truth of the Four Noble Truths, I have perfect morality, so I do not take things that others do not give me. . - Hey, can you explain to me the Dharma again? - Your Majesty the Queen, I can talk again, on the condition that you let me bathe in 16 pots of fragrant perfume, give me 2 special fine cloths, take a beautiful fan, sit on her noble seat and ornate, because of respect for the Dharma. Ms. Chief of Palace The Queen accepted all conditions, Ms. Khujjuttara wore a cloth, the other sheet draped over her body, holding a fan sitting on a noble seat; Below, Queen Sāmāvatī and her group of 500 female entourage sat down and listened attentively to her lecture on the Dharma, which she had heard from the Buddha's golden language and memorized every word and sentence. After listening to the sermon, the Queen Sāmāvatī and her group of 500 entourage girls all realized the truth of the Four Noble Truths, attained the Noble Truth of Stream-entry, and became a Saint-Entertainer. All paid homage to the shaman Khujjuttara . Queen Samāvatī said: “Miss Khujjuttara , from now on, you don't have to do the same things as before, we place you in the position of our mother and teacher . When she finished listening to the Buddha's sermon, please come back and teach us again. That is the case where Queen Sāmāvatī and her entourage of girlfriends became a Stream- winner, having pure and unwavering faith in the Three Jewels. Queen Māgaṇṇiyā . Main Palace Ms. Māgaṇṇiyā is the daughter of the Brahmin Māgaṇṇiya who once falsely accused the Buddha. When she became the Chief Empress of King Udena of Kosambī , because of the previous injustice, she wanted to seek more and more opportunities to slander the price, to take revenge on the Buddha. Madame Māgaṇṇiyā heard that the Buddha and the Venerable Monks had come to Kosambī , with the intention of slandering the Buddha, she spent money to hire a group of pagans who had wrong views, had no faith in the Three Jewels. are the servants, the workers, who followed behind, cursed and chased the Buddha out of the country. Venerable Ānanda, hearing such a rebuke, said to the Blessed One: "Dear World-Honored One, the people of the non-Buddhist religion who follow and curse like this, respectfully ask the Blessed One to go to another place. - When, Ānanda , when going to another place, the people there also follow and curse, where else do you go? - Dear World-Honored One, go to another place. “It should not be done, Ānanda , wherever the matter has arisen, it must be extinguished there, and then go to another place. "What kind of people are those who scold, Ānanda ?" - Dear World-Honored One, they are people without precepts, heretics, wrong views, poor people, servants, hired workers to follow and curse. - Hey Ānanda , Tathagata such as elephants practiced finished making the battlefield, have patiently endured dodging fireballs from four directions, is incumbent upon elephants to war how, patience to endure the word verbally scolding of those who have no precepts, is the same as the duty to the Tathagata. - Do n't worry, Ānanda , those cursing followers can only do this within 7 days, and then they'll be silent. Because, all things arise for the Buddhas not more than 7 days. Queen Māgaṇṇiyā hired someone to curse at the Blessed One, but could not make him leave Kosambī . She thought: "The main palace Queen Sāmāvatī and her group of 500 female entourage have pure faith in the recluse Gotama , I will find a way to harm them as always." Waiting alternately when the King came to rest in her castle for seven days, she said to the King: - Your Majesty, the Queen's Chief Palace and her entourage of girlfriends turned outward, worshiping the recluse Gotama , no longer loyal to His Majesty. To prove that her words were true, she told the King that in their rooms there was a small hole punched to see the recluse Gotama and his disciples go into the city for alms. The king came to observe, saw this fact, but kept silent, and then ordered the man to fill those small holes, allowing the upper window to be made. Another time, she plotted with her uncle, bringing 8 live chickens and 8 dead chickens to the palace. First, she had people bring 8 live children to the King, to cook chicken soup for the King to use. She told the King that she should order a group of girlfriends of the Chief Palace Queen Sāmāvatī to kill chicken for soup. The king prepared, ordered to send the maid of honor of Madame Māgaṇṇiyā to bring raw chicken to the group of girlfriends to kill the chicken for soup. The group of girlfriends refused to say: - We cannot kill. The other servant brought it back and reported it to Queen Māgaṇṇiyā . She told the King that: - I do not believe, Your Majesty, that group of women is no longer loyal to His Majesty, but has already turned their attention to worshiping the recluse Gotama . Now, if His Majesty commanded them to make chicken soup for the recluse Gotama , they would do it. The king obeyed and ordered someone to tell the group of women to make chicken soup and offer it to the recluse Gotama . The main palace Queen Māgaṇṇiyā told the servant to bring 8 dead chickens to the group of girls. They saw that the chicken was dead, so they made chicken soup right away. The other servant returned and reported the matter to Madame Māgaṇṇiyā . She told the king that: - Your Majesty, the group of girlfriends of the Main Palace Queen Sāmāvatī cooks chicken soup for Your Majesty, but does not cook chicken soup for the recluse Gotama . So, what do you think, Your Majesty? The king remained silent. The last poison scheme The king rested at the palace of Queen Māgaṇṇiyā until the 7th day is over, then will continue to rest at the palace of Queen Sāmāvatī , that day is the 7th day. Knowing this, Madame Māgaṇṇiyā told her uncle to find her a cobra, pull out her teeth, and then secretly send it to her, the uncle did as she was told. Because she knew that every time the King came to the palaces of the main palaces, the Queen often brought a lute with a small hole in it, so she secretly put the cobra in it and covered it with flowers, leaving a old. She stated that: - Your Majesty, tomorrow you will come to the palace of the Queen's Main Palace? - I will come to the palace of Queen Sāmāvatī's main palace . - Your Majesty, last night I had a bad dream. Please do not go to the palace of Queen Sāmāvatī's main palace . - Will I come and see? - The king decided. Queen Māgaṇṇiyā asked the king not to, so she said: – Your Majesty, please allow me to accompany you with Your Majesty. Although the King prevented her from following, she still followed. When the king arrived at the palace of Queen Sāmāvatī's main palace , the people welcomed the king, offered flowers and fragrant things, the king took it and placed the lute on the bed. The king ate food and drink and slept. Then Madame Māgaṇṇiyā paced back and forth, pretending to be guarding, but when the king was not paying attention, she came and pulled out the flower that had blocked the hole on the lute. After the cobra crawled out, she cried out: " Snake! Snake! Your Majesty!". Cobra cobra, spitting poison. She reproached the King for not believing her words, and then she scolded the Chief Palace Queen Sāmāvatī and the other group of women who intentionally harmed the King, saying: - You intentionally harmed the King, do you think the King died and you were left alone? When the king saw the cobra, he was afraid, and became angry, shouting: - You have committed a heinous crime! Previously, I did not believe the words of the Chief Palace Queen Māgaṇṇiyā that you punched holes in the wall to see outside, I gave the chicken to make soup for me, but I refused to accept it but returned it; Today again release the cobra on my bed. Queen Sāmāvatī advised her 500 female entourage that: - You and I, let's chant loving - kindness for ourselves, and then recite loving - kindness to the Emperor and Queen Māgaṇṇiyā in the Main Palace . You and I must not hold a grudge against anyone. The king ordered that Queen Sāmāvatī be at the head of the palace , followed by a group of 500 female entourage who were lined up. The king mounted a poisoned arrow, then raised his bow and aimed it at the chest of Queen Sāmāvatī's main palace, the arrow flew out of the bow, then turned around as if aiming directly at the King and then plunged down in front of him. the power of loving-kindness of the Empress Main Palace and her group of girlfriends. Seeing this, the King reflected: "The arrow shot is so powerful that it can penetrate the rock, the void is unobstructed, why can the arrow return as if it was aimed directly at my heart. In fact, this arrow has no mind, not sentient beings, not life, yet it knows the grace of Queen Sāmāvatī's main palace; And I, I am a human being, how could I not know her grace?" The king quickly threw his bow, sat down close to the queen's feet, clasped his hands, and recited the verse: "I'm in a coma, I'm completely confused, For me in all directions, It's dark and dark. Ai Secretary Samavati ! Please protect me, Where I take refuge!" Queen Sāmāvatī , who was the concubine of the Buddha , advised the King with a verse saying: “Dear Your Majesty! Please do not take refuge, In the lowly concubine, In the sublime Buddha. Please, Your Majesty, that noble Buddha. The life of my concubine depends on the Buddha, so will His Majesty." Hearing the righteous advice of the Chief Justice Queen Sāmāvatī , but the King was still afraid, because he felt guilty for her, so again, the King said: - I would like to take refuge in your love and will take refuge in the Buddha. I will bestow favors on you. – Muong, Your Majesty, I bow to ask for Your Majesty's favor. May Your Majesty grant the favor that I wish to be: Please come to the Blessed One, take refuge, rely on the Blessed One, the Dharma, and the Sangha, and respectfully invite the Blessed One and 500 monks and nuns. entered the palace to give the concubine the opportunity to offer food for 7 days. The king gave the favor and the Queen's chief palace received the favor, then said: - Your Majesty, I don't want anything else, just ask Your Majesty to grant me the grace to invite the Buddha and 500 monks and nuns to the palace every day, so that we can do alms. make offerings and listen to the Dharma. The king came to pay homage to the Blessed One and invited him at the request of Queen Sāmāvatī , but the Buddha taught: - O Great King, according to the custom of the Buddhas, every day cannot go to any place, because other places also look forward to the Buddha. - So, venerable sir, I respectfully ask you to allow one Venerable One and 500 bhikkhus to enter the palace daily, so that the male and female attendants in the palace have the opportunity to make offerings and make offerings. and hear the Dharma. The Buddha allowed Venerable Ānanda to guide 500 bhikkhus daily into the palace at the request of the King. Through the above story, due to the power of loving-kindness, weapons are not harmful; even true love can prevent the damage of weapons. For example: The story of a cow who loves her baby, nursing her baby in the forest, a man hunting animals, seeing the cow, he took a javelin and tried to kill it, but due to the love of a mother while nursing, did not run away, so the spear went the other way, not harming the cow. Due to the precious fruit of loving-kindness, fire or poison or weapons can not only harm people with loving-kindness, but can also transform evil people into good people, and correct evil. 8- How easy is the mind to calm down? - For those who do not radiate loving-kindness, loving-kindness, or anger, when encountering an unsatisfied object, it is easy to give rise to a disgruntled mind in that object, have no patience, when it is too cold, cannot bear it or it's too hot to bear, etc...
