PART I.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH. The Teaching of Karma. Cause-Cause-Buddha Discourse on Cūḷakammavibhaṅgasutta Sutta. * Accumulation of Prince Subha Prince Subha is the son of the rich Todeyya in the city-city Sāvatthī. Wealthy Todeyya had a fortune of as much as 87 koṭi (870 million), but he was known for being stingy with his wealth. Although he was born during the time when Gotama Buddha appeared in the world, he did not create any merit in giving alms to the Buddha, even if it was just a spoonful of porridge, a patch of rice. At the time of his death, the rich man Todeyya generated greed and nostalgia for that wealth, so after the rich man died, that negative karma gave the fruit of being reborn as a dog in his house. The dog was loved by the son of Subha very much, whenever he used any food, he could eat it, it was also carried by the son to lie on a luxurious bed. In the last watch of that night, after releasing his great compassion, the Blessed One considered that sentient beings should be saved, and saw a dog in the home of Prince Subha. The Buddha examined it clearly, knowing the past life of that dog, which was the rich man Todeyya, the father of son Subha. At his death, the rich man had greed and nostalgia for his possessions, so after the rich man died, that negative karma gave birth to a dog in his house. In the morning of that day, the Blessed One was on his alms round and stood in front of Prince Subha's villa. At that time, the son Subha was away, the dog saw the Blessed One and ran out to bark. The Blessed One called the dog's name, saying: - Hey Todeyya! You don't know your status as a dog, but you still bark at the Tathagata. You will have to be reborn in the great hell Avīci in your next life. Hearing this, the dog felt extremely miserable, bowed his head, ran into the house and went to lie down on the ashes near the kitchen. No one in the house could lift him up and lie on his luxurious bed. Prince Subha returned home and saw his lovely dog lying in the ashes near the kitchen, so he asked: "Who brought the dog down here?" The servants said: "My lord, there was no one to carry him down to lie there. He came to lie on his own, we tried to lift him up to lie on the bed, but he refused. - Sir, the reason why it happened is as follows: This morning, the recluse Gotama, going for alms, came to stand in front of the house, the dog saw the recluse Gotama, ran out and barked, the recluse Gotama commanded that: "Todeyya, you don't know your status as a dog, but you still bark at the Tathagata. You will have to be reborn in the great hell Avīci in your next life.” Hearing this, the dog felt extremely miserable, ran into the house and went to lie on the ashes near the kitchen. Hearing this, the son of Subha became angry and said: “My father was reborn as a Brahma, there was no such thing as a dog named Todeyya. But why does the recluse Gotama call the dog by my father's name? The recluse Gotama said it was not true. Prince Subha went to see him to blame the Buddha, because the Buddha named the dog Todeyya. Prince Subha immediately went to the Jetavana temple to meet the Buddha, to ask whether the events that happened were true as reported by the servants. The Blessed One confirmed this fact, and then the Blessed One asked the son Subha: - Hey Subha! Where are the treasures that your father has hidden, will he tell you or not? Hearing this question from the World-Honored One, the son Subha immediately developed a craving for these treasures, so his mind was no longer angry, but calmly said: – Venerable recluse Gotama, my father hid treasures such as gold bars worth 100,000 kahāpana, gold sandals worth 100,000 kahāpana, and many other priceless treasures, … in this place. Come on, your father didn't tell you. Now that my father is dead, how can I know? White Sir. - Hey Subha! I returned home, fed the dog rice cooked with fresh milk and sugarcane juice, ... then carried it up to lie on the bed. When he was just starting to sleep, I patted him and asked him where the treasures were hidden. It will show you the place. Hearing the Buddha's instructions like this, the son Subha generated greed and joy thinking: “If it were true, then I would get those treasures. If it's not true, I'll come back to blame the recluse Gotama for his words." Prince Subha returned home to follow the instructions of the Blessed One, the dog woke up, jumped out of bed, ran screaming, went to the place where the treasures were hidden, and scratched there with his paw. Prince Subha dug into the ground and found his father's hidden treasures without his knowledge. Having received these treasures, son Subha was extremely happy to generate pure faith in the Blessed One, who is the Buddha who has seen clearly, clearly knows what others do not see, no know. Prince Subha returned to pay homage to the Blessed One, he asked 14 questions, asked the Blessed One, respectfully asking him to answer them. That is the reason that the Blessed One preached the Cūḷakammavibhaṅgasutta Sutta. (first) * Contents of the Sutta Cūḷakammavibhaṅgasutta I, Ānanda, have heard the Cūḷakammavibhaṅga-sutta from the Blessed One's golden words: Once upon a time, the Blessed One was staying at the Jetavana temple of the rich man Anāthapiṇḍika near the city of Sāvatthī. At that time, the son Subha, the son of the rich man Todeyya, came to pay homage to the Blessed One, and then sat down in a reasonable place. Prince Subha, son of rich man Todeyya, asked: - Dear Gotama, what is the cause and condition to classify lowly or noble people in this life as: * The number of people who died prematurely, the number of people who lived long. * The number of people with many diseases, the number of people with few diseases. * The number of people with ugly bodies, scary rough skin, beautiful people, charming pink skin is worth admiring. * The number of people with little power, the number of people with a lot of power. * The number of people with little wealth, the number of people with a lot of wealth. * The number of people born in the family of lowly lineage, the number of people born in the family of noble lineage. * The number of people without wisdom, the number of people with much wisdom. - Dear Gotama, what is the cause and condition to classify such a lowly or noble person?
