Sutra Of The Lowly People.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH. AWESOME PEOPLE I have heard thus: At one time the Blessed One was staying at Sāvatthī, Jetavana, Anāthapiṇḍika's monastery. Then in the morning, the Blessed One wrapped his robe, took the bowl and bowl, and went into Sāvatthī for alms. At that time, in the abode of the brahman Aggikabhāradvāja, a fire was lit, and an offering was brought up. At that time, the Blessed One, while going for alms round by house in Sāvatthī, approached the abode of the brahmin Aggikabhāradvāja. The brahmin Aggikabhāradvāja, seeing the Blessed One coming from a distance, said this to the Blessed One: "Bare-headed man, right there. Hey, ascetic, right there. Hey lowly one, stand right there.” When this was said, the Blessed One said to the brahmin Aggika-bhāradvāja: "So, brahmin, do you know of the lowly person or the dharmas that make up the lowly person?" “Venerable Gotama, I do not know about lowly people or the dharmas that make up lowly people. It would be good, Lord Gotama, to teach me the Dharma, by which I may know about lowly people or the dharmas that make up lowly people." "For this reason, brahmin, listen, pay attention, I will speak." "Yes, sir," replied the brahmin Aggikabhāradvāja to the Blessed One. The World-Honored One said this: 116. "Whoever is angry, has enmity, is cruel and has malice, has corrupted knowledge, has cunning; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 117. Here, whoever harms lives, single or dual, who has no compassion for life; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 118. He who destroys, besieges villages and towns, is known as an oppressor; may know him as a 'wretched man.' 119. If in a village or in a forest one takes things that are in the possession of others, the things should not be given in the way of theft; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 120. Anyone who, in fact, after taking a loan, while being rebuked, runs away (saying): 'I have no debt to you,' may know that person as 'a lowly person.' 121. Who, indeed, out of desire for small things, kills people walking on the road and takes small things; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 122. And anyone who, for his own reasons, for the cause of others, for the cause of property, tells a lie when asked directly; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 123. Whoever is found in the wives of relatives or friends, by force or by love; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 124. Whoever, while capable, does not take care of his aged mother or father who has passed his youth; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 125. Anyone who verbally abuses or angers his mother or father, or his brother, sister, or mother-in-law; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 126. Who, when asked about what is beneficial, teaches only what is not beneficial, and instructs in a concealed manner; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 127. Whoever, after doing evil deeds, wishes: 'Let no one know me,' whose deeds are hidden; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 128. Someone who has indeed gone to someone else's house and has consumed pure food, (but) does not treat him back when he comes to (his own home); may know him as 'a lowly man.' 129. Those who deceive the Brahmin or the recluse, or even the poor with lies; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 130. Those who provoke anger with words and do not give alms to the Brahmin or the recluse at the time of the approaching meal; may know him as a 'wretched man.' 131. Here, someone who talks about the unreal, is overwhelmed by delusion, desires to achieve small things; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 132. He who exalts himself and despises others, (he) is inferior due to his own conceit; may know him as a 'wretched man.' 133. One who provokes anger (others) and is stingy, has evil desires, is stingy, deceitful, has no shame (sin), has no fear (sin); may know him as 'a lowly man.' 134. Those who disparage the Buddha, or his disciples, monastics or lay people; may know him as 'a lowly man.' 135. Anyone who has not really become an Arahant but claims to be an Arahant, is a thief in the world including Brahma, that person is the worst of the lowly people. These are indeed called lowly people, they have been explained to you by Me. 136. Not by birth that becomes lowly, not by lineage that becomes a Brahmin, by action that becomes lowly, by action that becomes a Brahmin- subject. 137. Know it with this too, like this example of mine: There was a man who cooked dog meat to eat, the son of a slave, known as Mātaṅga. 138. That Mātaṅga has reached the supreme fame, which is difficult to achieve. Many shahsitas and brahmins went to serve him. 139. He has climbed the great dust-free road leading to the world of gods, has left attachment to sensual pleasures, and has gone to the world of Brahma. 140. The birth line did not prevent him from being born in the world of Brahma. Having been born into the family of recitation masters (Vedas), the Brahmins were the relatives of mantras. 141. They themselves are often seen (involved) in evil deeds. They are reproached in the present time and (going to) misery in the future. The birth line does not prevent them from escaping misery or from reproach. 142. It is not by birth that it becomes lowly, it is not by birth that it becomes a Brahmin, by action it becomes lowly, by action it becomes a Brahmin. subject." When this was said, the brahmin Aggikabhāradvāja said to the Blessed One this: “Sir Gotama, this is wonderful! Sir Gotama, this is amazing! Lord Gotama, just as one can turn an object upside down, or open a hidden object, or show the way to a lost person, or bring an kerosene lamp into the dark (thinking): 'Those who have eyes will see shapes;' similarly, the Dharma has been explained by Gotama by various means. I go to take refuge in Gotama, the Dhamma, and the Sangha of monks. Please, Master Gotama, acknowledge me as a lay person who has taken refuge from this day until the end of my life."END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.14/9/2021.
