KASĪBHĀRADVĀJA . Sutta.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
Thus have I heard: At one time the Blessed One was dwelling in the country of Magadha, in the region of Dakkhiṇāgiri, in the Brahmin village of Ekanāḷā. At that time, at the time of sowing, the plows of the brahmin Kasī-bhāradvāja in the number of five hundred were already tied (to the yoke).
Then, in the morning, the Blessed One wrapped his robe (internally) and took the bowl, and he went to the work place of the brahmin Kasībhāradvāja. At that time, the distribution of food by the brahmin Kasībhāradvāja was being carried out. At that time, the World-Honored One had gone to the place where the food was distributed, and after arriving stood to one side. The brahmin Kasībhāradvāja saw the Blessed One standing begging for alms, and after seeing it said to the Blessed One this:
“Sammon, I plow and I sow. After plowing and after sowing seeds, I eat. You too, Sam-mon, plow and sow seed. After plowing and after sowing the seed, eat it.”
“Brahmin, I also plow and sow seed. After plowing and after sowing, I eat.”
“But we did not see Mr. Gotama's yoke, or plow shaft, or plowshare, or spur, or oxen. Yet Gotama said thus: 'Brahmin, I also plow and I sow seed. After plowing and after sowing, I eat.'”
At that time, the brahmin Kasībhāradvāja said to the Blessed One in verse:
76. “You claim to be a plowman, but we do not look at you. see his plowing. If asked by us, tell us about your plow so we can know about your plow.”
77. “Faith is the seed, asceticism is the rain, My wisdom is the yoke and plow body, shame is the plow handle, wisdom is the binding, My mindfulness is the plowshare and the stick.
78. To be preserved in the body, to be preserved in the mouth, to be restrained in food in the stomach, I take the truth as the object of uprooting (weed of lies); Peace is My deliverance.
79. Diligence, for Me, is the beast that carries the burden, (the chariot) that leads to safety from the (yoke) of bondage. It goes straight to the place where the person who has gone there is not sad.
80. The plow was plowed like that. It results in Immortality. Having plowed that plow, be freed from all suffering.”
At that time, the brahmin Kasībhāradvāja filled a large golden plate with milk rice and offered it to the Blessed One (saying): "Please, Gotama, eat milk porridge. He is the plowman, for Lord Gotama plows the plow whose result is Immortality."
81. “The thing received after reciting the verse is not used by Me. This, brahmin, is not the dhamma of those who have right perception. The Buddhas refuse to receive what is received after reciting a verse. Brahmin, when the Dhamma exists, that is the way of practice.
82. Make offerings to the perfect (virtue), the great hermit whose taints have been exhausted, whose states of remorse have been pacified, with food, drink, and other drink, for that is what is the field of those who yearn for blessings.”
“Sir Gotama, who should I give this milk rice to?”
"I do not see, brahmin, in the world a man who counts the realms of the gods, the Maras, and the Brahmas, down to the lineage of ascetics, brahmins, devas, human beings, whose milk rice, when eaten by him, can bring good digestion, except for the Tathagata or a disciple of the Tathagata. For this reason, brahmin, throw away that milky meal where there is no green grass, or throw it into water where there are no living things."
Then the brahmin Kasībhāradvāja poured that milk rice into the water without living creatures. And that milk rice, when it was poured into the water, bubbled, sizzled, evaporated, and gave off smoke. Just as a plowshare that has been heated red all day, when placed in water, foams, sizzling, vaporizes, and gives off smoke; Similarly, that milk rice when poured into the water immediately sizzling, evaporating, and emitting smoke.
At that time the brahmin Kasībhāradvāja became alarmed, his hair stood up, went to the Blessed One, and on arrival knelt down to pay homage to the Blessed One's feet, and said this :
“Sir Gotama, this is wonderful! Sir Gotama, this is amazing! Lord Gotama, just as one can turn an object upside down, or open a hidden object, or show the way to a lost person, or bring back an kerosene lamp into the dark (thinking): 'Those who have eyes will see shapes;' similarly, the Dharma has been explained by Gotama by various means. I am here to take refuge in Gotama, the Dhamma, and the Sangha of monks. Can I ordained in Gotama's presence? Can I cultivate to the upper level?”
Indeed, the brahmin Kasībhāradvāja had attained ordination in the presence of the Blessed One, had attained higher training. And when he had not long been cultivated to the upper stage, the venerable Bhāradvāja was alone, and while living his life without distractions, ardent, resolute in nature, it was not long before, even in the present life. now, by virtue of their superior knowledge, have realized, attained, and abided in that supreme goal of the holy life, for this purpose the sons of noble families leave home, become ordained righteously, living without a home. He knew well that: "Rebirth is exhausted, the holy life is completed, what needs to be done has been done, there is nothing else (to do) with this being (Arahant)." And another one, the venerable Bharadvāja, became an Arahant.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.14/9/2021.
