20. The Buddha Turned The First Wheel Of Dharma On The Full Moon Of June Āsālhapūja.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.
The First Zhuan Falun
The Buddha Gotama considered who should he preach the Dharma to save first, the Buddha immediately thought of the guru Ālāra Kālāmagotta as a wise person with wisdom, if the guru Ālāra Kālāmagotta could hear the true dharma. then they will quickly realize the truth of the Four Noble Truths, attain the Noble Path, the Holy Fruit, and Nirvana.
At that time, the gods came to the Buddha and said:
– Dear Germany-World-Honored One, Master Ālāra Kālāma- gotta have passed away for the past 7 days.
The Buddha considered that the Guru Ālāra Kālāmagotta had passed away, the third jhāna of the formless worlds of good karma gave the fruit of rebirth in the world of nothingness in the heaven of nothingness. -color-gender. The Buddha thought that:
“What a huge disadvantage!” (first)
1 The disadvantage here means: Sentient beings in the formless world heaven, without the aggregates of form, have no ears to hear the Dharma, have lost the rare good opportunity to realize enlightenment. Truth of the Four Noble Truths, the attainment of the Noble Path, the Holy Fruit, and Nirvana.
Next, the Buddha thought of the teacher Udaka Ramaputta as a wise man with wisdom, if the teacher Udaka Rāmaputta heard the right Dharma, he would quickly realize the truth of the four Noble Truths, attained the Holy Path, the Holy Fruit, and Nirvana.
At that time, the gods came to the Buddha and said:
- Dear World-Honored One, the Master Udaka Ramaputta passed away yesterday afternoon.
The Buddha examined and found that the Guru Udaka Ramaputta had passed away, the fourth jhāna of formless precepts of good karma resulted in rebirth in the land of non-perception-non-non-perception. deity belongs to the formless heaven. Buddha thought:
“What a huge disadvantage!”
Next, the Buddha thought of the group of five bhikkhus who had served and saved the Buddha during his time as a Bodhisattva practicing the ascetic practice. Buddha thought:
"Therefore, the Tathagata should preach the Dharma to save this group of five bhikkhus first."
At that time, a group of five bhikkhus were staying in the deer-liberating forest called Isipatana, near the city-city Bārāṇasī. The Buddha came from the forest of Uruvelā to that deer-liberating forest called Isipatana, to preach the Dharma to a group of five bhikkhus: Mr. Koṇḍañña, the leader of the group, Mr. Vappa, Mr. Bhaddiya, Mr. Mahānāma and Venerable Assaji.
Buddha Preaching Sutra of Zhuan Falun
The World-Honored One came to the deer-liberating forest called Isipatana, on the full moon day of the sixth month, exactly two months after becoming the Buddha.
The group of five bhikkhus, seeing Gotama Buddha coming from afar, mistakenly thought, "The recluse Gotama has given up diligent practice in ascetic practice to become the Buddha of Right Enlightenment. - Giac, but back to a life of abundance."
Because of that, the group of 5 bhikkhus no longer had faith and respect for the Buddha as before, and they agreed to agree that:
We do not stand up to receive, do not accept robes and bowls, do not bow down, we should only arrange a place for the recluse Gotama to sit.
But when Gotama Buddha approached, due to the power and great compassion of the Buddha, the group of 5 bhikkhus no longer remembered the word of the covenant, but each automatically stood up and respectfully received it. The one who receives the robe, the one who washes the feet with water, the one who arranges to spread the noble seat, invites the Buddha to come and sit on that noble seat. But their way of addressing the Buddha is still by calling "Āvuso" which is not religious, lacks respect for the World-Honored One. Hearing this, the Buddha taught that:
- O monks! You should not call the Tathagata with "Āvuso" (1). The Tathagata is the Perfectly Enlightened Buddha , and the Tathagata will preach the Dharma and teach the righteous Dharma that the Tathagata has realized. Children, listen to the true dharma, and then practice according to the dharma, you will also realize the truth of the four noble truths according to the Tathagata, realize the 4 Noble Paths, the 4 Holy Fruits, and Nirvana. table, according to the Tathagata has attained.
1 "Āvuso" word used to call the minor. "Bhante" is a word used to address high and low people respectfully.
The group of 5 bhikkhus still did not believe in the teachings of the Buddha, because they thought:
“In the past, the recluse Gotama practiced such ascetic practices, but did not become the Buddha of Perfect Enlightenment. Now, when the recluse Gotama returns to such an affluent life, will he be able to become the Buddha of Perfect Enlightenment?"
Understanding the skepticism of the group of 5 bhikkhus, the Blessed One explained to the group of 5 bhikkhus clearly, no longer doubted, and finally, they wholeheartedly revere the Buddha- World-Honored One and generated pure faith in the Blessed One.
At that time, the sun was about to set in the west, the moon appeared in the east, for the first time Gotama Buddha gave a sermon explaining the Dhammacakkappavattana-sutta: (1) The Law Turning Sutra, in order to save the group. 5 bhikkhus: Venerable Koṇḍañña, Venerable Vappa, Venerable Bhaddiya, Venerable Mahānāma and Venerable Assaji in the deer-liberating forest called Isipatana, near the city of Bārāṇasī.
1 Samyuttanikāya, Mahāvagga, Dhammacakkappavattanasutta.
At that time the sun was about to set in the west, the moon appeared in the east, the Fully Enlightened One gave his first sermon with the Dhammacakkappavattanasutta .
