11. The Bodhisatta Sālhapūja . Full Moon Night In June.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH. At midnight on the fifteenth day of the sixth lunar month, King Siddhattha gently stepped out of the room, mounted on Kaṇḍaka's horse, while Channa followed, the Bodhisattva-King Siddhattha escaped from the palace, went forth, and left home. at 29 years old. Demon Vasavatti forbids When the bodhisattva escaped from the city gate not long ago, the lord of the Paranimittavasavatti realm, Vasavatti, knew that the bodhisattva had left home. Lord Vasavatti thought: "Siddhatta wants to be free from my dominion? Surely Siddhatta will succeed, I cannot let Siddhatta escape from My grasp, I must prevent Siddhatta." From the palace of the Heavens of Freedom, the gods Vasavatti appeared right in front of the Bodhisatta as quickly as an athlete bends his outstretched arm or straightens his arm when it is contracted. To prevent the Bodhisatta from leaving home, the deva thought: "Let's bring benefits to tempt Siddhatta." Lord Vasavatti stood in the air and said to the Bodhisattva, "Mā nikkhama mahāvīra, ito te sattame dine. Dibbaṃ tu cakkaratanam, addhā pātu bhavissati." (Don't go, Great Hero, from today after 7 days, the treasure cart will appear to you) And the devil tempted the Bodhisattva that: - He will become the King of Wheels, He will rule all 4 great continents, each continent has 500 islets. O Great Hero, please return to the Royal Palace. The Bodhisatta looked up into the sky while Kaṇḍaka's horse was still soaring, he asked: - Who are you? - I am the lord of the gods Vasavatti. - O Māra (evil), I know the value of the treasure cart, but I do not need the authority to rule the world. O Māra, you wicked man, go, you cannot prevent me from leaving home. I will become the Supremely Enlightened One, I will help the world get rid of the domination of the power of birth and death. The Demon Lord, hearing the bodhisattva's reply, became angry and threatened, saying: - Hey Siddhatta, remember your words. I will tell you who I am, when you have the thought of "seeking for sensual pleasures" (kāmavitakka), thought of "seeking revenge" (vyāpādavitakka), or thinking of "harming others" (hiṃsavitakka). I will always watch over you, Siddhatta. And Vasavatti's son disappeared, since then he has been following the Bodhisattva for 7 years, with the intention of "killing on the spot" when the Bodhisattva arises "one of the three thoughts above". Kaṇḍaka's hooves were still galloping through the long, quiet night, a thought arose in the bodhisattva's mind: "Let's take a last look at the dear city of Kapilavatthu, before leaving home." At that very moment, the very place where this thought arose, suddenly turned, like a potter's wheel, the gods turned the capital Kapilavatthu forward for the Bodhisattva to see, he did not need to turn or turn his horse. return. (Where Kaṇḍaka's horse rested, a stupa was later built to mark the stopping place of the Great Being, the stupa called "Kaṇḍaka Nivattana") When he saw his homeland again, the Bodhisatta continued on his way like a brave general who went to war. The gods and Brahma saw him off, there were hundreds of thousands of gods leading the way with 60,000 torches lit by the gods, on the right, on the left and behind him there were also a similar number of gods. The gods made offerings to the Great Being with countless heavenly flowers and incense, and the musical angels played majestic songs with five musical instruments, to make offerings to the Great Being. The Kaṇḍaka horse can circumnavigate the earth in the early morning and return to the starting point at midday, but because of the heavenly flowers, the fragrance, etc., which are offered by gods and Brahmas, so thickly up to the horse's belly, the Kaṇḍaka's horse slows down. degree. That night, the horse Kaṇḍaka crossed the three countries of Sakya, Koliya and Mālla, with a distance of 30 yojanas. At dawn the Great Being came to the river Anoma. Each horse's hooves are supported by the gods' hands, making no sound, so no one knows, when reaching the gate, the gods immediately open the door for the horse Kaṇḍaka to gallop through. Siddhattha Bodhisattva cut his hair with a precious sword The bodhisattva king Siddhattha traveled through three countries: Sakya, Koliya and Malla for about 30 yojanas in one night. Arriving at the bank of the Anoma River, the Bodhisattva-King Siddhattha beckoned the horse Kaṇḍaka to fly to the other side, then he gently dismounted, took off the king's clothes, and said to Channa: - Hey Channa! I will be ordained here, please bring all these costumes back to the palace and report to my Father-in-law. King Bodhisattva Siddhattha used a precious sword to cut his hair, leaving about 2 fingers, all the remaining hairs spiraling around to the right, lying close to the scalp and shaving. Just that once, from then on throughout the life of the Buddha, no longer had to cut his hair or shave his beard. After cutting his hair, the Bodhisatta King took the hair in his hand and made a vow: "If I become the Buddha, please let this hair hang in the air, but if I do not become the Buddha, this hair will fall to the ground." The Bodhisatta threw a handful of hair into the air. It is rather extraordinary! The fist of hair flew up into the air for about a week and then stood still. At that time, the king of God Sakka, seeing it, brought down the jade box, respectfully placed a handful of the bodhisattva's hair in the box, and brought it to be worshiped at the Cuḷamanī stupa in the Three-Three-Three-Three-world. Sky. At that time, the great Brahma Ghaṭikāra, who was an old close friend from the previous life of the Bodhisattva King in the Buddha Kassapa's time, knew that today the Bodhisattva King Siddhattha had left home, so he brought 8 The items of the ascetic were the three robes, the bowl, the razor, the needle, the belt, and the water filter to make offerings to the Bodhisatta King. The Bodhisattva Siddhattha wore a yellow robe the color of a jackfruit core, symbolizing the victory flag of the Arahant, becoming a renunciation, when Siddhattha was 29 years old. the age. The Bodhisattva Lives the Dharma-Practice Meditation-Concentration The Bodhisattva Siddhattha sought out the Master Ālāra Kālāmagotta and asked for a teaching. The Master gladly received the Bodhisatta, and then taught the practice of meditation. The Bodhisatta practiced meditative practice for a short time, the Bodhisatta attained the four stages of formless jhāna of good mind, and reached the third formless jhāna. The worldly virtue-mind called: akiñcaññāyatanajjhānakusalacitta (akiñcaññāyatanajjhānakusalacitta) is equal to the level of jhāna that the master Ālāra Kālāmagotta has attained. The master Ālāra Kālāmagotta praised the bodhisattva's talent and virtue, saying: - Hey sage! Whatever kind-hearted formless-element jhāna I have attained, the sage has also attained that good-mind formless-element jhāna. Whatever kind-hearted sage has attained formless-element jhāna, I have also attained that good-mind formless-element jhāna. - Hey sage! From now on, the two of us will work together as masters to teach this group of disciples. The Bodhisattva considers that: “This third jhāna of formless worldly wholesome citta called non-possessed kusala jhāna will give the fruit of rebirth in the brahmāa realm of formless world called the realm of nothingness. The origin of heaven, which has a life span of up to 60,000 aeons, is not a dharma that leads to boredom of the five aggregates, does not eradicate craving, does not eradicate defilements, does not realize true- the Four Noble Truths, not realizing the Four Noble Truths, the Four Noble Truths, and Nirvana, not liberating the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, and death, not liberating the suffering of birth and death in the three worlds.” The Bodhisattva Siddhattha was not satisfied with his possessions, so the Bodhisattva would like to say goodbye to the venerable Master Ālāra Kālāmagotta, in order to find another Dharma door, in order to be free from the sufferings of birth, old age, and illness. , death. After saying goodbye to the Master Ālāra Kālāmagotta, the Bodhisatta Siddhattha went to the Master Udaka Rāmaputta to ask for an education. The Master gladly received the Bodhisatta, and then taught the practice of meditation. The Bodhisatta practiced the meditative practice of meditation for a short time, the Bodhisatta attained the 4 levels of the form-sphere jhāna and attained the culmination of the fourth formless jhāna called the ultimate formless jhāna. : non-perception-non-perception-land of good-mind meditation (nevasaññāsaññāyatanajjhānakusalacitta) is the ultimate formless jhāna on par with the jhāna that Master Udaka Rāmaputta attained. The Master praised the Bodhisattva, saying: - Hey sage! Whatever the ultimate formless-sphere jhāna I have attained, the sage has also attained the ultimate formless jhāna. Any sage who has attained the ultimate formless-sphere jhāna, I have also attained that ultimate formless-sphere jhāna. - Hey sage! I would like to invite the sage to be a teacher to teach this group of disciples. The Bodhisattva considers that: “The fourth formless jhāna called non-perception-non-perception-this wholesome-minded jhāna will result in rebirth in the brahmāa formless-worldly brahmin heaven called the realm of non-perception. The heavenly realm of perception-non-non-perception, which has a long life span of 84,000 aeons, is not a dharma that leads to boredom of the five aggregates, does not eradicate craving, cannot eradicate defilements. brain, not realizing the truth of the Four Noble Truths, not realizing the Four Noble Truths, the Four Noble Truths, and Nirvana, not being liberated from the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, and death, not being freed from the cycle of birth and death. return in the three worlds." The Bodhisattva Siddhattha would like to leave the venerable Master Udaka Rāmaputta, in order to find another Dharma-door, in order to be freed from the sufferings of birth, old age, sickness, and death.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).BUDDHIST DHARMA WHEEL GOLDEN MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THE WOMEN OF THE SAKYA CLAN CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.7/9/2021.
