WHERE IS THE PROPERTY? VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
Once, King Milanda asked Venerable Nāgasena that:
"White Sir, can you show me where the Karma is contained?". Mr. Nagasena replied:
“It is impossible, to be exact, where is karma stored. But Karma depends on the flow of bhavanga (the flow of existence, the stream of protection), on matter and mind. When the flow of existence meets the favorable conditions, Karma will bear fruit ”.
Although we cannot say exactly where Karma is stored, when there are favorable conditions for Karma to arise, it will bear fruit. Thus, this karma, this willful intention, when it disappears, it will leave something behind, leaving potentials in the flow of existence (bhavanga) of sentient beings. bear the consequences.
Nāgasena gave an example of a mango tree: “We cannot say that where a mango is stored in a mango tree: in the roots, in the trunk, or in the branches, but when the season comes, when there is enough humidity, when the weather is right, when the conditions are right… fruit will form and the tree will bear fruit. Also, although it cannot be said where Karma is stored, when there are convenient conditions, we will receive the results of Karma.
After we have understood what Karma is, we should also understand what is not Karma.
WHAT IS NOT Karma?
Some theories hold that: man is governed by Fate or Predestination. And Fate or Predestination is something imposed on beings by miraculous power that is hard to know, or by divine, by God, by Brahma ... Karma is not fate or Predestination according to that concept. .
Whenever we suffer about something or every time we achieve something we want, we say:
"This is the fruit of Karma"
Or do we simply say:
"This is my Karma".
But if we call or define Karma as fate or predestination that has been placed on others, then Karma we say this is not that fate or predestination.
Kamma is what we have intentionally done in the past, and we bear the consequences of Karma that we have created, but the result of Nghien has created can happen in the present or in the future.
The result of karma is the natural consequence of karma
The fruit of good or bad Karma is not created by the Holy Spirit, God, or Brahma
The fruit of Karma, not a reward or punishment from the Spirit, God, etc.
The good results we get are not the reward of the Holy Spirit, God.
The bad fruit we get is not a punishment from the Holy Spirit, God.
What we have gained is the fruit of what we have done. The result of Karma is our own, the result of what we do intentionally. Thus, Karma is not a fate or predestination imposed on us by some power, but Karma is our possession. Whether we receive good or bad results, we do.
In short, the effect of Karma is not produced by anyone but the natural result of the Karma that we have created.
Some people think that accepting Karma is no different from "defeat" or Karma is the theory of "defeat". The "loser" accepts everything that comes to them, and cannot do anything to improve himself. This is a misconception. Karma is not like that.
By creating good Karma, we will receive good results in our present life. Thus, karma is not the defeatist theory. Karma is not defeat, acceptance or resignation of what happens to you, without trying to avoid or improve. We accept that: what is good and bad happens to us is the result of karma, but we improve our situation by creating new kamma. As such, Kamma is not the theory of "defeat" as some people misunderstand.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY =VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.6/5/2021.
