CAN THE IMPROVEMENT OF Karma.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
The next question is: Can we change or improve the effects or effects of Karma?
The Buddha himself did not interfere with the effects of Karma. For example, when Prince Vidūdabha decided to kill Buddha's relatives. The Buddha could not intervene because this was the result of Karma that the Buddha's relatives had previously created so they had to be destroyed by Prince Vidūdabha. Thus, the Buddha could not prevent the suffering that his relatives had to pay. The reason is because the law of Karma is a natural law. The Law of Karma is not created by anyone. The Law of Karma is not created by God, by god, or by any god. This is a natural law. Because Karma is the natural law, so no one can interfere with its effects.
Although we cannot interfere with the effects of Karma, we can partly change the impact of Karma. That is, we can create unfavorable conditions for akusala kamma to bear fruit. That is, we can, or slow our akusala kamma to bear fruit more slowly. Because, as I said before, Karma only bears fruit when there are favorable conditions. When there are no favorable conditions, then Karma will be there waiting.
If we create unfavorable conditions for akusala kamma to bear fruit, we may not suffer the consequences of akusala kamma. Although, we cannot interfere with the law of Karma, cannot change the law of Karma, but we can create unfavorable conditions or create adversities for Karma to bear fruit. At least we can postpone the fruitfulness of Karma for a while.
Even the Buddha had to suffer negative effects caused by unwholesome Karma he had created in the past. Buddha often had headaches, backaches, and sometimes colds. When Devadatta pushed a large rock down from above to harm the Buddha. Although the great rock did not fall on him, a small piece of rock broke out of the large rock, bruising him in his leg, pain, and the bruise had to be punctured for the stagnant blood to flow. Even the Buddha cannot avoid the consequences of negative Karma created in the past. There are many stories that show that no one can escape the consequences of evil Karma.
We cannot interfere with the effects of Karma. We cannot change the Karma stream, but we can limit the effect of the Bad Karma for a while - in some cases or to a certain extent. No one can destroy all of the Karma or destroy the whole Karma that one has created. This means that no one can eliminate all Karma or all the results of Karma created, so everyone must bear the consequences of Karma that they created in the past.
However, at the time of Enlightenment Path to Arhat, all the kamma will be destroyed. The Path at the moment of Enlightenment on the fourth level is called "the mind that has fulfilled the responsibility of destroying Karma".. Thus, at the time of attaining Arahantship, all karma will cease. This does not mean that all of the kamma of the past were destroyed and that the Arahant no longer received the effects of the past Karma. But what happened was that at the time of Enlightenment Arahant all afflictions were eliminated at that moment. When the mind is free from defilement, what he does is simply do it, but does not create any Karma because the Arahant no longer has attachment to any life or no longer has any existence. both. The Arahant is no longer ignorant. Therefore, what an Arahant does is just an impact that does not create Karma. In other words, the Arahant or the Buddha no longer accumulates new Karma. They don't create any new Karma, even if they do good. The Buddha taught many sentient beings, The Buddha helped many people to get rid of suffering. Arhat also did many good deeds for other monks and for everyone, but they did not reap good results when they did good deeds. Their effects or their Karma is called "Kiriya" which means only action, only action takes place. All the Karma are completely destroyed at the fourth holy level which means that after this person attains the fourth holy level no longer creates any Karma, and because there is no Karma there will be no effect of Karma. Future. only action takes place. All the Karma are completely destroyed at the fourth holy level which means that after this person attains the fourth holy level no longer creates any Karma, and because there is no Karma there will be no effect of Karma. Future. only action takes place. All the Karma are completely destroyed at the fourth holy level which means that after this person attains the fourth holy level no longer creates any Karma, and because there is no Karma there will be no effect of Karma. Future.
So what are the Karma they created in the past or the old Karma? They still receive the results of the old kamma, as the Buddha is still suffering from headaches, etc. Other Arhat are still suffering from sickness and are still suffering from the effects of past kamma. You remember Moggallāna being killed by five hundred bandits, etc.So, although Buddha and the Arahants did not create new Karma, they still had old Karma so they were still enjoying it. suffer the consequences of the Karma they did in the past. But after they passed away, they were no longer born again, so the Karma they had accumulated in the past could not pay off after They died.
You know the story of Sir Anguli-māla. Angulimāla killed thousands of people. The Buddha came to see him and taught him the religion, after which he became a monk and attained Arhat. As an Arahant, but before he died, Angulimāla also suffered as a result of the unwholesome Karma he did. Before becoming a monk, he created many akusala kamma. If you do not become an Arahant, these unwholesome Karma will pay him many lives. But after attaining Arahantship, Angulimāla was no longer reborn, so the negative Karma he did could not bear fruit. Thus, for Angulimāla, akusala kamma has become ineffective.
Like in the case of a person who dies after a felony, and because the person is already dead, the judge cannot punish him anymore. Also, when an Arahant dies, they are no longer born again. Because they are no longer born again, the old Karma cannot pay them back after they die. Their karma has become ineffective. When we say that the Arahants have finished destroying Karma, this means that they are no longer creating new Karma, but they are still receiving the results of the Karma they created in the past. .
Many Karma becoming ineffective means that these Karma will no longer pay the results for the Buddhas and Arhat when they are gone; because Buddha and Arhat are no longer reborn.
We do not want to receive the results of negative Karma, if so, we should stop doing negative Karma. What if we have done bad Karma? What should we do with the evil Karma we do now? Buddha taught: "Even if we have regrets about bad Karma done in the past, that old bad Karma cannot be repaired". What we have already done, we cannot go back to the past to do it again. What you have done is already done, so repentance makes the situation worse, and more unwholesome deeds accumulate. The more you repent, the more you regret, the more evil Karma you have created. Thus, the Buddha's intention was to say: "Forget it". Do not remember past Karma, because the more you remember, the more akusala Karma will be created.Forget about these unwholesome Karma is called " abandoning these unwholesome Karma, and in the future aspire to stay away from those unwholesome actions ".
Thus, for past Karma created, first of all we should stop thinking about them, do not regret doing those bad Karma anymore and try to avoid or refrain from doing bad actions or Karma. that in the future. This is called "eliminating bad Karma" or "overcoming bad Karma". Thus, if we have done bad Karma in the past then we should not remember them many times, do not repent of them again, let them aside, let them return to the past and from now on. to prevent and prevent similar unwholesome deeds in the future. In this way we have left all akusala karma behind.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.10/5/2021.
