WHAT DOES THE BUDDHA NEED IN GIANTS?
In the Buddha's time, the Anāthapiṇḍada offered the Blessed One a gold-paved garden to build the Ky Vien monastery, but the Buddha did not accept the monastic offerings to the Buddha, but he only accepted offerings to the Sangha. So wealth becomes less meaningful, because every day monks also only alms enough to support themselves with a single lunch.
Buddha only needs us to practice diligently, if we make mistakes, then correct the mistakes, do not repeat, if we do not make mistakes, then do not make mistakes, so there is no more meaningful and purer offering than that.
Buddha only needs us to practice diligently, if we make mistakes, then correct the mistakes, do not repeat, if we do not make mistakes, then do not make mistakes, so there is no more meaningful and purer offering than that.
The act of offering clearly shows respect, so the offering is completely pure. There must be someone who deserves to receive an offering and someone must clean up that offering to be pure. If the purity of the worship is easy, it is not for the sake of self-interest but to make offerings.
In the Sangha, the Buddha told Anāthapiṇḍada about the offering as follows:
“A homeowner treats rice for a hundred people, usually not as much as treating a good person. Treating rice for a hundred good people is not equal to treating rice for a Tu-da-complete. Treating rice for hundreds of Tu-da-complete not by treating rice for a Tu-da-function. Treating rice for a hundred of Tu da jaw is not equal to treating rice for an Arahant. Treating rice for an A-la-function is not equal to treating rice for an A-la-drought. Donating rice to a hundred A-la-Han is not equal to donating rice to a Bich Chi Buddha. Donating rice to hundreds of Buddhas of Bich Chi is not equal to donating rice to a Buddha ”.
Come here thinking that Buddha is upholding Buddhahood, but that is not the case. Please listen to the Buddha's teaching:
“Donating rice to a Buddha is not equal to donating rice to the Sangha who is cultivating with Buddha. Donating rice to the Sangha who are cultivating with Buddha is not equal to building monasteries to donate to the Sangha in all four directions in the present and in the future. Dedicating the Sangha of the four directions in the present and the future is not equal to giving up sincerity but taking refuge in the Three Jewels ”.
Pause here, O monastic disciples, people have faithfully taken refuge in the Three Jewels, the merit is greater than building a big pagoda, bigger than offering to the Buddha, what else do you ask for more from them?
Please listen to the Buddha to continue teaching:
“Bringing your heart to take refuge in the Three Jewels is not equal to sincerely observing the 5 precepts (No killing, no stealing, no adultery, no lies, no alcohol).
Oh my God, at last the offering returned to the practice of the donor himself. Is there any giant who built a great Buddhist temple conscious that he was a Buddhist who took refuge in the Three Jewels and kept the five precepts?
Surprise is not over yet! Buddha continued:
“Bringing devotion to keeping all 5 precepts is not equal to expanding even a moment of compassion. Bringing your heart to open even a moment from the heart is not equal to being satisfied, but contemplate even just in the moment of a snap of the meaning of impermanence ".
Oh, it turns out that the shrine is mausoleum, this life is just ephemeral. Buddha did not want to receive anything for himself but meals just enough to feed his body.
But if all donors know how to preserve the 5 precepts, also arise from the mind, and also enlighten impermanence, then the pure land is right here in this human world.
This is also what Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh wished for.
According to the Buddha's teaching, depending on the level of the offering, make offerings, but in the end it is still not by practicing and contemplating impermanence by yourself.
Everyone gives and accepts with the above teachings, what do they do, but those types of people just stare at other people's pockets, no matter how much someone donates because they are not pampered, they get frustrated and then shout out to themselves. being cheated on money.
That is defilement and impurity. That is also the inevitable consequence leading to the struggle and the suffering lawsuit.
Why, when we kneel before the Buddha, we offer 5 kinds of scents: Precipitation, concentration, wisdom, liberation of incense, liberation of knowledge. Because Buddha does need a burning smoke that is soaked with chemicals.
Buddha only needs us to practice diligently, if we make mistakes, then correct the mistakes, do not repeat, if we do not make mistakes, then do not make mistakes, so there is no more meaningful and purer offering than that.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.20/3/2021.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
