When the Buddha was still alive, every year the monks and nuns settled in the rainy season, all of them returned to live together in the monasteries (temples). In this time, The monks and nuns do not go to alms, have good men and women, come to the land "to eat" and make offerings. As the four verses below: "Mercifully happy to discharge the Dharma realm, Accumulation of good fortune and good fortune, Meditation of the pure virtue of being equal to ringing, Tàm you to be grateful to the whole mind". Ancient virtues teach, follow them Fruit Path, There are eight benefits. The eight advantages are: 1. Not indulgent, just not distracted. Before going through the street, we hit the board three times, it was called "Tam thong" (ie notice). The first one is to prepare the Passage, the second one for everyone to wear robes, go to Trai Duong sequentially and sit. The third message is to be quiet and patiently wait for the Venerable Master to enter the testimony. This is so that people will not be influenced by entertainment. 2. Save effort when clearing the road. Promulgating the street and the kitchen when preparing rice and food is convenient, can clean dishes, chopsticks, rice, vegetables all at once, when cleaning up can also do it quickly. 3. Equality without self. Everyone has the same amount of rice and vegetables. The Venerable Master and novice do not have a different offering, demonstrating equality in Buddhism. 4. Not being biased about their food. Everyone who received the offering was equal, equally distributed, nutrition is well balanced. There are also benefits to the body. The equilibrium distribution also contributed to change the bad habits of the members of the Sangha. 5. Commitment plus suffering. Everyone should not have a choice, for any food, it seems to taste nectar all the time, without discriminating mind, but should be extremely happy. 6. Concepts exist. Suspend external conditions, visualize the generosity of the giraffe, which is indigestible, eat rice like taking medicine, when the thoughts arise, immediately apply to the consciousness that arises and comes away, so call is a concept of existence. 7. As legal as. From the Tang dynasty onwards, there were more and more people from the monastery, especially during the ordination, often over a thousand people. If we don't set up the Passage rule, it'll all be chaos. The Passover ritual will create order, Order not only makes people feel good, but also demonstrates the serene spirit of Buddhism. 8. Start just posture. As a Buddhist disciple, whatever you do should also show your awareness. The path is no exception, it must show the posture of deeds, making those who see the listener feel happy and initiate respectful thoughts. That is the embodiment of the sermon. Since Chinese Buddhism was introduced into Vietnam, in addition to the Chinese scriptures, the Chinese culture of Buddhism has also been introduced, including the rituals of the Buddhist monkhood tradition. In Vietnam, the Three-Month Passover is indispensable. No matter how much the Buddhist monks and nuns have, the Transcendence cannot be abandoned (unless wrongly given by the Sangha) and as a necessary part of one's own responsibility.
