The beauty of the monk.
please don't be sad because of the public opinion that happened recently. I'm still beautiful in Buddhism! My monk is still very beautiful, especially in the hustle and bustle of life today! In the past, Buddha was also humiliated. Buddhism has undergone 2,600 years of history, what era has no fluctuations and challenges?
After all, no matter what we say, we cannot deny the practical value of Buddhism for people and society, especially in the age of the decreasing moral values of people.
Sometimes the bell breaks ignorance, photo NL
Buddhism has been joining hands with society to educate a generation of young people with healthy and ethical lifestyles through summer retreats across the country that attract thousands of young people to join. We cannot deny that Buddhism has been joining hands to beautify life with a lifestyle of compassion and wisdom.
I like the Buddha's teachings most that: Buddhism is practical, now known by the witness, comes to see, not just to believe.
I know that brother A is the son of a rich, handsome, and well-educated member of the family. Huynh B from a poor family used to sell lottery tickets for rice ... but I don't see any difference in personality between the two. Every brother radiates a peaceful, gentle energy, every brother is directed to the ideal of self-reliance and forgiveness.
Doesn't Buddhism have such a great value? If someone is skeptical, then shave your hair into a strict vegetarian monkhood for about three years to see the great value of Buddhism. In the past, he carried Na-subject, the notorious bandit Angulimala ... or came from noble Brahmin lineage such as Sariputta, Moggallana ... when he was ordained in the Buddha's Sangha, all the same results. Then where does the origin have any effect on the practice that we have to struggle to discuss?
Young people, our same age is living family life! What do you think of us - people who give up their families to live without a family?
If you are an intellectual, having recognition the more you will value the monk. In a developed society in all aspects today, the higher the need for human enjoyment is, look back ... when you dress yourself up with expensive outfits, the monk still wears plain clothes. weird; When you have a good taste and meet regularly, the monk is still meager, living in a vegetarian diet through the day; When you have fun all night long, picnic, karaoke, discotheque ... the monk is still quietly, regularly listening to the sutras early in the afternoon; When you have days to sleep until the sun reaches the top, the monk is still right at 3-4 am to wake up elaborately. While you love life and death only one person, the monk brings his love to all around them.
Nor do we avoid cases where false monks are creeping around the streets to make money in one way or another. It is easy to understand because when people want to make counterfeit goods, they must choose items of value and favored by consumers!
Nor can we avoid cases where monks are not as beautiful as what we deify. It is easy to understand, because the monk is still on the path of practice, is changing from a mortal to a saint, making mistakes is unavoidable. The important thing is to know if it is wrong, then correct it. And even more important is the way of our error.
The Buddha taught a person to blame others to have 5 virtues:
1. Not because of anger
2. Not because of jealousy
3. Not to discredit the position
4. There is compassion
5. Only for the purpose of helping him correct his mistakes to perfect himself.
Let us consider how many of these qualities we have? Sometimes blameless remarks will accidentally push them into a dead end. So I urge you to consider every word carefully!
In addition, we should not be criticized for the fact that education is futile, defaming teachers as deceivers and disqualified and let our children drop out of school. illiteracy. That is not the act of a wise man.
On that day, when I started to leave home, people said that I was out of love and should go to the monkhood and advised: "If I don't have this child, I will find another, why should I bury my youth in a lonely temple?" ? " I just smiled because I knew that the love story of Lan and Diep was ingrained in the subconscious of all Vietnamese people. Since then, accidentally defaulting to becoming a monk was due to a loss of love.
My father said a firm sentence: "If you want to become a monk, then step over my body!" And my mother sat on the ground and cried, and she struggled like a baby on her father.
Some villagers in the village also said straightforwardly: "You are filial, why don't you worry about taking care of your parents to repay them, but you leave to practice ..."
I also do not know how I overcame the challenges of public opinion. Just know that at that time, in me filled with the ideal of enthusiasm, only a desire to leave home.
As you know!
Monastic life is a long journey to fight with one's own greed and ignorance. It is not easy to give up worldly habits, mundane thoughts that have been gathered in my mind for many generations. There were also moments of unconsciousness and weakness in the roadside pleasures, but thanks to the ideal, thanks to the initial inadvertence, thanks to the prompting of the Dharma and the protection of the precepts, I promptly stopped and continued. the journey towards the corner.
Many people ask if it is difficult for me to become a monk? I have a difficult answer. Cultivators go against the flow of life, difficult to gold. My master once taught: “A log that wants to be carved into a Buddha image for people to worship must first be a good log, not a worm. Then the log was subjected to being sawed and chiseled. Everything is carefully detailed every line, if not just accidentally scratching the nose only then the statue must also be removed. "
Monks have to go through the same hardships, buddy. It is not simply that those who used to be called "guy", today shaved a hair, they immediately called "teacher" then bowed, and offered offerings.
Dear friend, every tornado will pass, everything then goes back to the past. I just know that you and I are very happy because we are walking together on the path of happiness - an irreversible happiness in the midst of a life that is impermanent. Promise me, we will forever be the dharma pilgrims, forever vigorously stepping firmly on the path we have chosen. Anyway, I still feel so happy to be a monk, friend.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.16/3/2021.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
