Meaning
TO GO BEGGING,OR ASKINH FOR ALMS.
OF THE BUDDHA
PREFACE
Theravada Theravada Nam Tong Buddhism spread in Vietnam more slowly than Tan Tien Bac Tong Buddhism, so most of our compatriots did not understand the meaning of monks and nuns. There are many thoughts below:
If you cultivate indolently, you will not eat and eat, and if you beg of others, the merit of your spiritual practice will return to people.
Follow the Mien, go to peace, die and then reincarnate into the Mien.
If you are a true practitioner, you will eat and live in a religious place, you have a place and a place, the devotees do not eat everything, you do not have to beg like a beggar.
When we go to beg for food, we should worry about cultivating or planting and eating.
We would like to present the meaning of Buddhist almsgiving to gain popularity among fellow citizens, especially those who do not know.
We hope this simple, summarized explanation will help a small part in the beginning of understanding Theravada Theravada Buddhism.

REAL ESTATE PUSH
OF THE BUDDHA
000
When the Buddha returned to save the country, the land of Caesarea, one morning, the Blessed One and 1,250 Bhikkhus entered the city, sequentially going to practice alms alms.
His Holiness was still in the room washing his face, brushing his hair, and Mrs. Da Du Da La came in and said, "Thoughtful father, Prince Si Dat Ta have come back, but he also brought the bowl to beg for food along the way". The king heard very discontent, hurriedly wrapped his hair, threw his shirt downstairs to pick up right in front of Duc The Ton. As he was walking, the Buddha stopped, with a perfect light, brilliant, majestic, unusual compassion, King Tinh Sanskrit in his heart confused, half happy, half shy. But because of the royal pride, the king respectfully said: "Bach too Duc The Ton, people in the royal family always live on hundreds of families, jade, jewels, gold and silver are lacking. I am ashamed to see the Blessed One go to beggars hoping to receive the gifts of the folk to live like this. The White Buddha and the monks take a seat in the palace, allowing me to take care of my daily meals and drinks, so that I will not be sad and sad.
The Buddha calmly replied: "Dear Father, it is true that in the past, the royal family still lived in the golden palace of the jade palace, there is no shortage of phoenixes. But this is the life of the Buddha, the Tathagata still maintains the virtue of being alms in the past. Patriarch should not be afraid, this peaceful alms-alms life has many great blessings for all the Tanh ”.
The summary of the Buddha's alms-alms-deeds which the Buddhist monks in the world must follow is to strictly follow the Dharma of Shakyamuni Buddha.
Moreover, the virtuous practice of almsgiving also has many meanings, both benefits and givers, so the monks in Buddhism are not allowed to be ignored.
The virtuous virtuous alms of alms have the following meanings:
Eliminate self-esteem:
When the world was born, the cup of love cut the love, vow to become a monk, that is to be born into the Buddha's line, even though he was the king of the general, rich, rich and noble, now he is ordained. There are Tam y, the bowl is essential for daily life, so as not to worry about buying food. Every day bring bowls of begging, going from house to house, regardless of wealth, religion, or race. Already a beggar, claiming to send his life through others, almsgiving; bad, delicious, more, less, salty, flat please accept. His self-esteem is of course honed under the low-class poor as a beggar. If the monk is confronted with criticism or critics, the monk is also resigned to his patience and forgiveness for those who are poor in understanding. Thanks to that, anger, pride, no chance arise.
Calmly enduring all the detractors, patient with the sun, hard rock, the monk brought the body of the Tathagata to suggest to those who have charity; And by the way, they think about the Buddhist ethics that develop compassion, show it by giving, and then learn more Buddhist teachings.
Simplicity in everyday life:
The monk goes on alms and alms, no longer has to follow his taste buds, is not controlled by his appetite. So often, because of the appetite that people have to work hard, hard and cause sin. The monk only needs to eat and eat so that his body does not suffer from hunger and disease, so that he can free his mind to practice and study. Like that, the food is just an antidote to hunger. When we are sick, we have to take medicine because we want to be healthy. No matter how sour, bad, bitter or bitter, we must drink it, because it is essential to be healthy. The monk's eating is like that, although salty, light, bad, and delicious, it must be eaten, and must be swallowed. The monk thought: This plant is just pure earth, water, wind, fire, we must bring it into the body to nourish this body, earth, water, wind, fire to make it full, so that it is not lacking. If you are poor, you will be sick, uncomfortable, so that I can practice according to the virtue of it. That is why whoever feeds them, then the monk eats, he cannot claim his own will or perseverance, vegetarian food, salty food. Moreover, if the monk is not simple in food, cannot master the taste, how many other cravings will he demand, and then he must follow that is to enslave it, then it will lead us gradually into sin. Therefore, the monk must master his taste is the first battle that the monk must win, hoping to progress on the path of the dharma.
Direct social grace:
We live in mortality that cannot be alone. We must live with human society, gather and rely together. Just think, a person who has been wrecked on a desert island, or a person strayed into a deep forest, lonely life will face many difficulties and inconveniences. From eating, living, to preserving lives, how to be healthy. Therefore, humans have to live collectively in order to help and exchange each other. We see people in mountainous areas who are Montagnard, have little cultural knowledge and low intelligence, but also know how to live together in each neighborhood, each squirrel. When something is not satisfactory, they move to another place and also go with the whole neighborhood and squirrel. Birds, bees, ants, etc ... also live together in groups. Then the close relationship between us and human society is very important for life. From the tribe to the village, national, also not out of that important thing. There are many people who do not pay attention to that, so even if they live in the middle of the city, they do not sympathize with that relationship. to someone else.
As a Buddhist, of the four virtues, having social grace is one that we must remember.
Happiness goes on daily alms alms and the monk receives the gifts of the Tanh, so that he can live in a righteous and simple way, the monk receives a clear daily reminder of the meaning of social gratitude. Then consider oneself diligently to study, preserve the purity of happiness, to maintain the morality to contribute to building the happiness of society, to do what should be done to avoid committing social grief.
Get rid of the disease through physical activity:
Humanity is one of the animals. Thanks to the regulation of four postures, the body is healthy. Monastics need to be physically active, because they no longer work like ordinary people in daily life. If you do not have the virtuous practice of alms, the monks have little to spend moving their whole body. Thanks to walking, walking calmly, the body is refreshed and resistant. Especially in the morning, the air is fresh, the sunlight is not harsh, and going to be alms for 1.2 hours feels healthy and happy. Thanks to that, the spirit is refreshed and less sick.
Create opportunities for the Tanh to do blessings:
Most people are busy with public and private jobs. The rich are the same as the poor, mandarins and people alike. Therefore, we do not have time to go to the temple, do merit, especially the poor, or have low self-esteem, think poor fate, money is not abundant, clothes are not good, have no free time and have no ceremony. worthy objects like everyone else, even less thinking about going to the temple; little thought of doing merit. There are also many people who do not fully understand the benefits of almsgiving and blessing. The monk has time, is obliged to go and practice alms alms to give the Tanh Tanh a chance to do the blessing easily and without wasting time. If the monk does not go to meditate, stay at the temple forever, only the rich and rich come to the temple to offer offerings, while the poor do not have the opportunity to do merit.
The object to keep the monk's bowl does not need much, the least is needed, the benefactor rejoices with the real thing and leaves the bowl for the monk himself. A banana, a cake, a bit of salt, and sugar are delighted with their blessings, that is, he has planted blessings in the Buddhist blessings. Donors have the opportunity to give alms, even if they are small, but this simple act has immeasurable merit and will pave the way for the practice of liberation in the future.
Therefore, the monk is healthy, has time, must go to peacefully alms to create opportunities for the popular nature to easily cultivate good conditions in Buddhism.
Maintaining pure virtue to become blessed fill:
Almsgiving for the poor and beggars is often blessed, let alone alms for monks, especially monks who are virtuous. As for the monk always judges himself in observing the precepts, in his diligent practice, his body and mind are not indolent, how to do in accordance with the duty of the monk, becoming the blessings of the monks. Heaven and humanity. If you maintain the average life of the gift of Tanh, but the morality is not diligent, the practice is not mature, it is not worthy of being blessed, not comparable to the ordinary beggar, which the Buddha calls a robber in disguise. Monk, will bring many suffering later. Thanks to such considerations, the monk tries more and more to preserve the pure virtue and diligently study.
Spread kindness to all people, all sentient beings:
Before leaving the retreat, the monk arises loving-kindness, or good thoughts, scattered all sentient beings, especially on the path he will go through. When going out on the street, the monk must restrain his six sense doors, focus his attention on praying for the popular nature to be happy and happy, from suffering, from sickness and sickness, and not to be injustice with each other.
Regardless of religion, class, male and female, old and young, the monk opens his kindness to all, keeps his mind soft, filled with love, and harmonious in language and gestures. When standing in front of any house, the monk must focus again on contemplating the impure body, the feeling of suffering, impermanence, and the dharma of no-self. When he returned to his dwelling place, he went indulgent and dignified by forcing his mind in the dharma to take one step at a time. guys like that.
Spreading Buddhism:
In Vietnam, there are many places where our people do not fully understand the merits of saving, do not know the monk's peaceful virtues, do not understand the Theravada teachings of Buddhism. An alms monk had the opportunity to contact fellow people to explain Buddhist teachings, although it was brief and simple, but it was very helpful in promoting the Dharma.
Before delving into the study of Buddhist teachings, paving the way for impartiality by many means, for which the practice of almsgiving is one. Both help little for people and benefit us, especially the practice of precepts in Theravada Theravada Buddhism.
Monastic ordination in Theravada Buddhism for no reason but avoids going to practice alms for alms unless sick and busy with the Buddha's work.
In short, he is a monk who ordained according to the Dharma of Buddha Shakyamuni, having three yas, and the bowl, he must be used for his duties, especially following the example of the Buddha who used his time in the morning. A job that is simple, but it implies a profound meaning, is self-interest, people benefit, and ordination can not be ignored.
As for the benefactor, when he puts the food in his own hands in the monk's bowl, he is blessed. The benefactor must pay attention to dedicate this precious blessing to the deceased benefactors, especially grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters and wish for other blessings as they please.

In the last few decades, in Vietnam, there have been many Vietnamese monks practicing alms, claiming to be a Buddhist practice, but not following the Buddhist precepts and precepts.
In Vietnam, Buddhism has 2 tones: Tonkin and Nam Tong.
Tonkin used the Tripitaka Chinese script, the monks wore blue and blue robes, and did not go to practice alms.
Nam Tong has the Pali Tripitaka, the monks are dressed in yellow robes and have bowls, which are the natural dishes of the body. The y ca sa and the bowl are both according to the Buddha's precepts, which means that the method of sewing y ca sa has the right model with the meaning of PUNNA KHETAM to bless mankind. Pots and bowls can also be formed by their own rate, not by their own discretion to use large, small or of any substance.
While going to practice alms for alms, from dressing in robes, carrying pots, to walking and taking food, must also comply with the prescribed rules of the Buddha's law. It is worth noting that the monk in Theravada Buddhism in Vietnam does not go into a crowded place when he goes to peace, avoids jostling like in a market, and does not accept money or rice. For example, if the almsgiving is less, I would like to receive a little, if I give more, I only receive enough to live through the healthy day to build up merit and merit. The Buddhist monk in Nguyen Thuy Vietnam also did not go to promote money in order to go to the temple or do any other work. Monks in Theravada Buddhism in Vietnam are also not asked to give vegetarian or savory food, whoever wants to give them whatever they want, depending on what they have.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.5/3/2021.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
