BUDDHISM CHAIN OF THE BUDDHA.
Today, on the occasion of the new year, we try to recap each stage of the path that Shakyamuni Buddha actually walked and attained the final attainment of enlightenment and liberation . I am not talking about the countless past lives that he went through to accumulate immeasurable merit and merit. But this is also predestined important, so he has a degree rooftop apartment , in the limits of this article, we only review the way practice only yours in this life .
Step 1 : Province enlightened radical law of impermanence of life . Living in the palace , lavish , playful , isolated from the poor and miserablelife scenesof the people, when suddenly he saw the scene of the old and weak, the scene of the sick, the scene of the person just died, he was traumatized. moving in the mind. Loving people, loving oneself, knowing with certainty that one day we will be old, sick and die just like that. This is enlightenment withwisdom , is the most important driving force , throughout the later stages of cultivation. Whenever he realized he had made a mistake , he changed direction , following the guidance of wisdom .
Step 2 : Know your goals : In all of the sentences , he has made it clear: " Find bridge the unborn , supreme peace from the hard yoke , nirvana ." At that time, he really did not know what "which is not born, is not old, does not get sick, does not die, is not melancholy, is not contaminated". At that time, there were manydifferent religious sects advocating. Later when he became enlightened , he was sure that it was all wrong views . Yet at that time he made it clear that his aim should be: to attain the stateGet rid of all the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, death, that is nirvana .
Step 3 : Leaving home : In the Great Sutta of Saccaka , he recounted:
“And then Aggivessana, after a while , when I was young, a teenager, with dark hair, full of youthful vigor , in the golden age of my life , though my parents were not content, tears filled my face. , mourning, I shaved off my hair, put on a robe, left home , abandoned my family , lived without a family .
I ordained as such, a man seeking something wholesome, seek supreme supreme peace path. "
He had an iron determination , when he gave up everything that people competed in , indulged in and wanted to possess.
According to the Theravāda system, after this, continuing to keep strictly according to the Buddha 's tradition , it advocated the desire to attain complete enlightenment , escape from suffering, and liberation , the important condition is to leave home . It is awakened first, away from family , relatives , cut off the bond of craving , definitely go into the mountainous desert hermit after renunciation .
Step 4: Finding a teacher : After ashort period of practice with two famous teachersteaching the four layers of Formless Meditation , he also attained and resided in it as 2 teachers. But notice 4 floors formless meditation has not led to state care cessation , peace , nirvana , as the goal of his. Once again, with wisdom , he abandoned four-story Zen Immaterial and leave, find another practice, although he stillrespect the virtues of two teachers.
This is an important event that we should take note of . In the Nikàya beside the prayer said over 4 floors Meditation, Buddha enlightenment Ba Minh, there are texts saying to 9 floors Meditation, and again ranked fourth floor formless meditation of yoga higher than 4 floors Meditation of the German Buddha and add the level of Concentration as the highest level of meditation. This may be a questionable history , so far does not seem to have any position in religious faith yet.
Step 5 : ascetic : After renounce 4 floors Zen Immaterial , he wandered in the woods and encounter groups Uruvela 5 director Dr. ascetic . He tortured his body to the maximum extent, refraining from eating, drinking, wearing, sleeping, and resting. As a result, after 6 years of asceticism , exhausted health , standing up, then falling down, but wisdom has not developed, nirvana has not yet realized . You know that the maximum ascetic method is wrong , so you decide end austerity . He returned to alms to restore his health .
Step 6 : Experiences in childhood : Now over 6 years with 2 legal arduous meditation formless and Austerity has failed, amid deadlock, he suddenly remembered the one experience of childhood . Experience complete tranquility ofmind, gentle contempt of body, and feel bliss throughout the whole body , during one day Ha Dien attended with King Tinh Phan . He practiced back to experienceand he also reached the result as the old. Then he decided to start again in this method, practicing intensively in order to achieve deeper results. He chose a wild forest, with many ancient trees , neither wild animals nor villages. And start a spiritual journey - no master - no friend.
Step 7 : The first Zen floor: is characterized by: there are four ranges , there is bliss due to the glass of education , the law of akusala . Then he realized clearly why, in his childhood , he had easily attained a calm and blissful mind ? Because at that time, he was an innocent child, not yet in contact with life, his mind was pure and serene . Just sitting down, breathing in and out , the mind is completely at ease . - And now, he is 35 years old, why alsoAchieving the same tranquility and purity of mind ? - I know now that my mind is as pure and serene as when I was a child .
Thus, the state heart serenity , joy is characteristic of the first meditation floor. He further emphasized : that joy comes from knowing that we have left the evil and the evil deeds .
Step 8 : The second Zen stage: characteristics are: no quartet, no bliss due to birth concentration . He went up to stop the whisper in his mind without difficulty. Joy joy is current and you know it's due process Dinh born. We can borrow the science to explain this bliss . When the mind is quiet, the signals will affect the parasympathetic nerve , the parasympathetic nerve endings to secrete nervesAcetylcholine transmitters, when transmitted to the brain will secrete more stem Acetylcholine, secrete serotonin, melatonin, dopamine ... Substances biochemistry This course makes the body light, comfortable , heart joyfully excited.
Step 9 : The third Zen floor: stay in peace, that the saints call the discharge of mindfulness.
He continued to dwell in that peaceful state , and then the joy became more subdued.
Step 10 : The fourth level of Zen: pure mindfulness .
He sank deeply in a state of silence , transcending all feelings . That is the feeling does not arise anymore. He attains total motionlessness , both body mind and sensation as well as motionless . The term is called the three motionless actions . That is:
+ Language executive estate : Games and silent quartet, ie words whispered absolutely not arise.
+ Volition estate : quiet feeling and perception.
+ The body is motionless : actually, from the first level of meditation, the body is already sitting firmly . Do not shake. Because when the mind is quiet, not trying , but completely relaxed, the signal will affect the parasympathetic, transmitted to the internal organs. When impacted the heart will make the heart beat lightly and slowly. Impact on the lungs, will constrict the trachea, making the breath in and out gently. By the fourth level of meditation, the breath becomes quiet, or very light, the term called purification.
Step 11: Respond to Ba Minh: Strong intelligence, Thien Minh Minh ,and Lau are intelligent .
It is in the state three acts do not move, the mind completely empty, completely deserted . Only the perception is pure , pure , objective, without any trace in it. What cognitive completely empty, no sensation , inside the body, mind or outside. It just perceives itself. Then he described :
" With concentration, static, pure pure , not contaminated , not negativity , highly skilful , easy to use , solid , calm so we guide the mind, afferent to Additional intelligent network ..." .. .. Thien label proving ... Gonorrhea take intelligent .... "
In the third vidya, he realizes that the cause of human Suffering is Gon or , is craving , so in order to get rid of suffering, he must practice the 8 methods / Eightfold Path .
Step 12 : Fruition of Arahant . At the same time , he realized that he had stopped all the piracy or , so he knew that he would not be born again. He knows clearly: " Birth is over , Pham has been done, the work to be done has been done. After this life does not come back . "
This realization is called ABHISAMAYA. However here the path goes unfinished.
Step 13 : Realizing Ly Dependent Origination : ashort while later, he was still in Bodhgaya , he realized all the laws governing the universe and man , that is the Law of Dependent Origination - Dependent birth : established , then transformed to go to destruction and rebirth again. Therefore, the essence of the universe and man is emptiness , and illusoryLegs like nature. In the end all are Equality .
Step 14 : Entering Legs Like : state of mind of him in two realizations are empty, completely deserted passed away , clear , objective and estate . That is mind Nhu. Therefore, the Buddha called himself "TATHÀGATA", translated as Tathagata / Such-Gone / Thus-Come ".
Step 15: Anuttara sammà sambodhi: Translated as the Supreme Enlightenment , which means that this enlightenment is the highest, equal to all the Buddhas who also enlighten the truths that govern man and the world as so.
Over here, we just skim the stage turns toward supreme enlightenment of Buddha Shakyamuni that classic was recorded. She had temporarily reconnected into a string, named the Bodhi string , because the goal was to aim for enlightenment . Which why is string? Not a straight path ? Because the steps finally be returned to the essence of myself. The innate Buddha nature . That is what is available.
There is a question to me: What is the red thread, which runs through the 15 bodhi beads ? END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.7/3/2021.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
