NIn the old days, the benefits of a Buddhist monk was just the gift of an offering superior to other monks, thereby gaining respect, fame, respect, and pride.

In the Sutta of the Samyutta, the Buddha repeatedly criticized the nourishing, presumptuous monk cases brought about by fame and respect from nourishing benefits. There is a series of sutras talking about this.

Here, we would like to introduce a most typical discourse on the above matter in which the Buddha strongly criticized  (1) .

Although the benefits to gain respect, fame, respect, arrogance and pride in expression, in the two eras there are different, but they are all the same basic features: People in material condition can be quantity, maybe quality, show off, take pride in it, despise fellow practitioners who don't have like themselves.

The Buddha's strong critique is shown in the example he uses. Benefits are like feces. The person who possesses benefits like a manure, the Buddha calls it "a fool", and possesses respectful benefits, fame, and being dominated by those things will "bring long-term unhappiness, suffering".

At Sàvatthi

- The suffering, the Female-on stilts, is gainful, respectful, honorable, bitter, cruel, is the legal obstacle to attaining superior peace, from suffering a yoke.

For example, the Male-stilts, a bacterium, eating feces, full of feces, filled with feces, and in front of a large pile of dung.

Such suffering, the Female-on stilts, is gainful, respectful, honorable, bitter, cruel, is the legal obstacle to attaining superior peace, from the yoke.
