Chapter I: Training.
1. Practice: Finding "The Identity of the Section".VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
The dharma that we practice is the Supreme-Dharma, which has no form, because it is the dharma in the mind.
Monastic practice is for the purpose of rediscovering his identity - his true face before his parents were born. When you have not clarified this, wisdom has not opened; it is like the moon covered by dark clouds, unable to manifest clear light.
Cultivation is for liberation, not being drowned in samsara. See you can tu to the Five Aggregates (Sac, feeling, thought, onion, consciousness) are "no" reasonable?
Cultivation, then need to subtract greed, anger, ignorance; reach where the body, mouth, and mind are all clean.
From the beginning of time until now, the karma that I created is filled like a high mountain. Nowadays, when you are ordained as a practitioner, you need to eliminate your karma. If you do not practice well, but on the contrary, create karma, the high mountains of the karma will increase more and more; forever you have no way of escaping the cycle of samsara.
Whenever you initiate mindfulness, you have made a mistake yourself, because the "self", the "I" exists. This is a very subtle thought; just because this thought starts to arise, all other thoughts arise.
Just criticize others who are wrong, others are bad, and we are always right, always good; It is fun to hear people say that if I am good, I like it; being annoyed by others will make you feel bad; that is human-ego-general-see the truth, there are people. When we practice, but we also have such a human-self general, we cannot practice safely. When we still have the self-general, we can see the "I", consider this "I" very important, and delimit the boundaries of "I" and "them" very clearly. Thus, there is no benefit to the practice, which in turn results in disturbing emotions.
If you are preoccupied with attachment to rupa, sound, flavor, taste, contact, dhamma (form, sound, aroma, taste, touch, and idea) then wisdom cannot develop.
Your ears always love to listen, to hear if anyone speaks ill of you; eyes always like to see beautiful images; Those are things that are not conducive to cultivation.
Without eliminating greed, anger, and delusion, there is no way to cultivate wisdom!
Just greedy for something is enough to bring us back to samsara!
Join one thing more then one more thing. Less than a hopeless thought, a little less karma, and an increase in liberation.
Do not get angry, though small as a feather; If not, we cannot enter the religion.
If you still have love, love in the relationship of motherhood, friends, colleagues, relatives ..., then hundreds of thousands of lives you will still be in samsara. If there is the Buddha seed, then practice is relatively quicker.
Do not let bad things, garbage piled up the brain, it is painful! Don't love beauty; Please wear this robe (only the robes of monks and nuns) and go directly to the Western realm. If you like (to wear) beautiful, then when in the West, you will naturally have nice clothes to wear, no need to buy. Someone has not yet come to the West, but he already appears as there.
Should not learn stubborn, obstinate.
There should be no ego-attachment (always think of the "I", always think "I" is right). With self-accept, wisdom does not open. Do not be born high in the tribute to self because it obstructs the Path.
Without getting rid of the concept of "I" and "people" (human-self-general), there is no way to get rid of it. Master taught me the Method of Liberation; He said the Fa is not for earning talent.
If someone has talent but is not good at spiritual practice, so just think wandering about, calculating this and that. Cultivation is practice in color, bar, flavor, taste, contact, and law; is wearing raw clothes, eating rice, and seeing if you have the ability to cultivate so that your mind is pure or not.
In the mind, the evil forces are strong and the good tendencies are weak.
Well then say: "I am very good"; So bad then say: "I'm the best!" Evil thoughts are always at the top, overwhelming good thoughts; so good is ultimately crushed by evil. That is not a good thing.
From the beginning of time, until now, due to the meager concept of goodness in our hearts and the range of evil thoughts, so the pure nature (Buddha-nature) is covered and cannot appear. Because of that accumulated evil recitation, we just start thinking, like to sleep, like to enjoy ... without any way to resist. That is karma; Therefore, I have to cultivate to overcome it. If not, even if you go around and listen to the lecture, you just listen to a lot and defilements are still full, nowhere to communicate!
When karma comes, disturbing emotions arise. When not mindful, wrong thoughts arise.
At that time, you see that everyone is not suitable; Seeing anything is not satisfied. Someone wanted to leave the temple because of that; or some people feel that they have no intention, so they want to be vulgar. In fact, no matter whether you are rational or unreasonable, when you arise afflictions, you are wrong!
Without fear, the mind is calm. When the mind is afraid, it cannot calm down.
Fear is the psychology that lets you feel only, others don't feel like you; therefore, only yourself is detrimental. When I'm not in control, then I'm afraid. Scared too, afraid forever, the birth of disturbing emotions. At that time, if the mind is not stable, there will be no more spiritual practice!
Question: Teacher, when practicing, it is not simple!
A: Don't say "it's not simple." You just do it, it will be very simple!
Question: But I am an ordinary man, so ...
A: To say that I am a "noble", that is, attachment!
Question: But I do not practice anything ...
A: Do not say that there is no practice (then no practice). You need to have faith, that: "I am also capable of becoming a Buddha. I am also capable of cultivating to a great extent." Thinking like that, you will be more diligent. Don't just keep saying: "I, I ..."; by itself (the concept of "I") is evil, obstructing you!
Once there was an official resigned, ordained as a monk. He is afraid that others will know his identity and thus never revealing his noble status (a person of high rank, well-dressed, is very easily perverted because of his indefinite wealth). He does all kinds of lowly things like cleaning, cleaning ...; no one knows his identity. One day, he cleaned and became enlightened! He knew how many bowls and bowls he had broken in the past, so he promptly compensated the temple.
It is because he has no idea of "I" that he is enlightened. Therefore, let's eliminate the self-general.
It is necessary not to have a discriminating mind to subtract the ego-form. When I was still attached to the notion of "I", it didn't work out. Except for the self-general, wisdom has been released.
Austerities, cannot be attached. Attachment is afflictive.
Tu Dao is needed except for greed, hatred, and si; attain pure body, mouth, and mind.
If we want to eliminate the attachment of "I", we must come from the place where we have to wear a robe, eat a protein meal and use the labor - reducing desires, not having a discriminating mind, not thinking about ourselves, about people, about sentient beings, or about life expectancy.
Everything is he-I dispute that out. See if you can cultivate to a place where there is no brother-me, me-human?
You need to cultivate; Patience, patience is the basis, the root of cultivation. If you cannot cultivate patience, then it is only a waste of effort to bring the appearance, the appearance of the monk!
Don't let yourself be right all the time. Such an attitude cannot cultivate the mind.
Cultivation does not need to have the idea of "I." We should not tell us about the past, when we were not ordained, we had this position and that position; If we do that, we cannot let go of everything, we cannot cultivate the Dao. When he was ordained, there were no positions, positions, academic abilities, qualifications, talents ...; everyone is the same
Good is smiling, bad is smiling; because good or bad are set forth by discriminating mind. Therefore, do not distinguish.
When you have a job that makes you excited and happy, ask yourself, "Who's having fun?" When having troubles, ask yourself: "Who is upset?"
When you have negative thoughts, or when there are disturbing emotions, turn to the Buddha Amitabha and speak. Whenever those bad ideas come, crush them.
Therefore, you need to recite the Buddha Amitabha, saying to yourself: "Frustration! Hurry away, nothing for now!" That is using mind treatment.
The religious path needs to go through hardships; so that enlightenment can be done. Do not expect good people to you; If the cultivator is not, then it will be no different from a layman.
Practicing, you must suffer losses and losses; Only then will improve.
Cultivation is doing things that no one will do; always strong, diligent, not calculating, comparing: "This is not for me to do!"; because that is an attitude like people.
Doing things that others don't do, that's how to cultivate blessings. Cultivation is not doing calculations; No need to plan and arrange.
Good things are gathered to learn; bad things are thrown aside. Understanding by yourself is enough; according to this practice of patience-patience Ba-la-secret. Tu, do not ask "right" with "wrong", do not tell "reasonable" or "unreasonable."
Tu do not say marketing, who is right and wrong. Even though I'm right and others say I'm wrong, I still accept that opinion. Whenever you admit yourself wrong - even though you are right - afflictions will not arise; otherwise your mind will be insecure, sorrow will come.
On the religious path, there are many things that are not the same as the secular, secular path; therefore, don't dispute "true" to "not true."
In the past, there were two disciples meditating together, one sitting very solemnly, and the other leaning back and forth; but their Master whipped him and sat solemnly. If he is a person today, perhaps he was angry, born of afflictions; But the disciple was extremely ashamed, asking Master to give instruction.
Cultivation is not about "right" versus "wrong." Practicing requires meticulous patience; Even if I'm right and blamed for being wrong, I also have to accept.
(Method: Recite the Buddha's name, bow to the Buddha, generate the mind to work at the temple, do not calculate. Whenever calculating, there is defilement, which means creating new karma.)
If you really want to cultivate, that's your blessing; so it is necessary to cultivate both blessing and wisdom. Each person needs to eliminate all the karma that was created in the past, and then not create new karma; so blessed, hue will increase.
To be stupid to practice, to be stupid to eat, to recite Buddha's name for a lot.
Today is today. Tomorrow is tomorrow. Whatever you do, don't get your hands up, put your nose in. That is the solid mind, the practice.
When cultivating, just cultivate, need to think, what calculation is going to study Buddhism, get degrees, do this or that? That is not all about spiritual practice.
Later, when I (Venerable Quang Kham) no longer exist, don't be sad; just listen to my words, but recite the Buddha's name, practice the asceticism. For good or bad situations, there should be no attachments, it is necessary to depend on conditions.
Cultivation needs to get rid of the body. clothes, food, accommodation must be simple. Need to wear rough clothes, eat plain rice. If you pay too much attention to dress, dress, and living, how are you different from secular people? When you take lightly of eating, dressing, and living, you can eliminate greed, anger, and delusion.
When such things (clothes, food, home, etc.) are too affluent, lust will flare and greed will be high. Therefore, if we want to let go of our body and mind, we have to go from the place of eating, dressing, and living in the lower part.
When there's something good or bad, don't let it show on your face. If you are sick, don't let others know that you are sick. Like I was sick, but everyone who looked at me said: "You look very healthy"; No one knew I was sick at that time.
a) Eyes
When you see the faults and mistakes of others, you should not ignore the difference and comparison. Observe yourself. Everyone has Buddha nature.
Should not keep looking at people's bad mistakes day and night. Must regularly find out if you have made mistakes or mistakes or not. Practice like that does not go against the Dao.
Do not be too clueless if you see anything. Seeing a good appearance, don't give birth to please enjoy; see bad appearance also do not start negativity.
b) Ear
Say you are good, criticize you as bad: This is not because people are wrong, but actually you are not stable.
Cultivation needs to be free. Do not pay attention to the public opinion criticizing you.
Others criticize you: This is where you must cultivate.
Cultivation needs to have a realm to test before we can cultivate. Self-cultivation, self-enlightenment - defilement is Bodhi. Practicing is the practice at that place. When there is an attacker, your mind is still calm, calm, and windless; then it is tu.
Not to say: "Every day how many bows to the Buddha, how many strings to recite the Buddha" and for that is enough; to know these are the essential conditions (but to know cultivating in the remaining times).
When you sweep the temple clean, another master retorted to say that you haven't cleaned it yet. If at that time, you and your teacher have justified and explained, then you still have a bad personality. If you accept the scolding, then reply: "Yes, I will wipe it out"; then that is spiritual practice.
When cultivating to a place of mindfulness and clarity, your ears like to hear good or bad words, you all feel it very clearly. When your ears only like to listen to good words or good words, cultivate the bad words.
c) Mouth
When speaking, words should be refined (just say the main point) and simple (simple). When words don't need to be uttered, don't say!
Practice should not be disparaging (disparaging, defaming others), do not put things.
In Buddhism, the most fear is said non-marketing. The person who talks about the market is the non-trustee (untrustworthy), who only creates speech. The main practice is in this place to cultivate; otherwise, someone who can only eat three meals a day!
Do not say stereotypes; Because cheating will lead to failure, and make others unsure.
What you want to say about others, ask yourself first of all your conscience.
Don't criticize others for being wrong, being at fault. Words once uttered, you are wrong. Therefore, the mouth is very important!
Every day you must train yourself to not greed, not gossip.
When you open your mouth, talk about the Dharma, pray for the birth of the West. The "secular habit" strain you've cultivated in your mind is more than enough; therefore, do not continue to say mundane words or contests!
Someone often makes the listener disturbing when he speaks, the mind cannot be at peace; makes the listener not know how to handle it properly. Already, he also makes people have to listen to him, but do not know whether he heard for them? As a result, the listener is upset, upset, unable to solve it.
In the temple, not two or three people gathered to chat; or forming partisan parties, criticizing people for themselves, misrepresenting right and wrong, while they were not present. If we do so, it will easily cause insecurity among them, committing crimes against the public.
Practice needs to be in and out of consensus, not self-contradiction; that is not "mindless mind" (mouth to say one thing, mind one way).
Cultivation must pay attention to speech karma. A good mouth is a good mind. Do not say, "Although I am not good at mouth, but kindness!"
After renunciation already, in the temple there are still people who speak non-town. However, do not join them to say that marketing is enough. Do not keep opening your mouth is non-nostalgic. Whoever gossiped, sneaked up about other people, then y is the concubine.
Whenever you have free time, bow to the Buddha and recite the Buddha's name.
When you arise unhappiness, sadness and anxiety, do not look for others to say this and that. Speaking back and forth, you will get caught up in the habit of promiscuity. It is best to bow to the Buddha a lot to get rid of defilements.
Question: Listening to the teacher (about real time), so I dare not eat too much, eat too full; But with weak strength, what should I do?
A: It is necessary to eat enough. Mainly not greed, no attachment.
It is not that every good food should eat a little more, and eat a little when bad food. Do not want taste, taste, contact, and dharma.
When you arise a bad thought, don't be attached to it; tell yourself: "You shouldn't think evil!" The punishment cannot be used, because the punishment only hurts oneself.
Things with appearance are easy to see. The invisible formless is difficult to see (such as saying non-visual ...); We need a hard heart, not to be dragged on by them.
A: Recite "Namo Amitabha Buddha" for many.
Question: With karma to bring, how to develop wisdom?
If you follow Master's virtuous example (Master Venerable Quang Kham), it's okay to go everywhere.
It is difficult for our false bodies to avoid illness; However, the body of the disease is a small disease.
There is delusion, greed, hatred and delusion are the great diseases. Delusions are still continuing the chain of samsara, unable to end the cycle of birth and death.
In order to ensure that we have mindfulness at the moment of death, we normally need to take the medicine "Amitabha"; If not, I won't know where to die!
When walking, standing, lying, sitting, must always be able to meet the Buddha's teachings, enlightenment morality; that's not a waste of time. Time passed very quickly, to make use of it to experience. If we cultivate like this, new bad thoughts have no chance of arising; Without doing that, there will be no mindfulness.
When the mouth does not speak, the mind thinks; But don't think things that have form or silhouette; must think of letters out of form.
Is it easy for you to practice?
Now, what we do is just hard work, practice only. Because currently we have not been able to get greed, hatred, and delusion, so this is the stage of mind cultivation. Wait until those things are broken without a bit, then called the Dao.
You need to take 10 years, 20 years to keep a sentence "Amitabha Buddha" without letting go, plus the effort of faith, prayer, and practice.
Cultivation is not an easy thing to "eat" like tofu, put it in your mouth is ready to eat!
If you have a Dao-mind, slowly cultivate to 40, 50 years old, have no monsters and become "grandmother", then you will have a little freedom; But not at all. If you do not understand the Truth, even when you reach the age of 40 or 50, your afflictions will be overwhelming, easy to go crazy.
Training needs to keep the Middle Path (a state of balance). Don't be too urgent, don't be slow; It must be like the "saving water field", the water flows slowly without stopping.
Practicing, to keep the Middle Dao by meticulously let go and see through. Need to wear a rough shirt, eat protein rice, and have no attachment to color, flavor, flavor, contact, and dharma. However, to practice naturally; No reluctance, order not to eat, not wear clothes even though it is cold, or not sleep to prove that you are a good spiritual practitioner! When cultivating to a certain level, naturally you will no longer be hungry, no longer need sleep.
Be diligent and brave in spiritual practice. Cultivate until you no longer have the need for food, clothing, or shelter, then you can go up to the mountain to be secluded; Then, fortunately you can achieve. If cultivating has not reached that level yet and retreats, there will be obstacles in the future.
During the process of spiritual practice, it is not good to arise defilement. It is necessary to be free from negativity, anxiety, sadness and happiness, to be good.
When there is no sin, it is merit!
If possible every day to be calm and calm to recite the Buddha's name, to bow to the Buddha, to cultivate, nothing will happen, then that's good; do not expect this and that.
Today is today. Tomorrow is tomorrow.
Today there is no inconvenience, being able to recite the Buddha's name day by day is enough.
Tomorrow, leave for tomorrow - don't be shy, don't worry.
The subtraction of human-self form (concept and attachment to the concept of being self and person) is something cultivators have to do. Do it, it's called meticulous damage. If you can't do it, wherever you go, every temple will be in vain. After cultivating to such a level, your effort will be accomplished.
Everything is due to "I, you", me, who "dispute, division that out. See you have the ability to cultivate to no longer" me, people "reasonable?
Just accept it and do it, depending on the conditions of the day, nothing will disturb your mind. Everything: eat, drink, sleep, rest, wear, stay, town, honor ... coolly let go of them. When these external conditions are cleared away, the wisdom in the mind will naturally arise.
The ordinary mind is the Path: Every day keep the mind from starting to be afflicted, sad, and not too happy. It is neither good nor bad for everyone; it is up to them to have good relationships with them However, do not be predestined, that is, do not take advantage of them for profit.
Always pay attention to your own thought-provoking thoughts. When there are bad ideas, you must immediately awaken and put them away.
Austerities, need practice with an attitude of fearless, such as cranes nest so. The crane is not worried about eating and drinking; wherever he likes, he will nest there. When it wants, it flings its wings to another place. That is the most free, free bird.
When cultivating, you must have the attitude of "fearlessness" everywhere and anywhere. All right, then the mind is calm, new as motionless.
Cultivation, need to cultivate to the point where there are no more monsters or shyness in dynamic or static situations.
What is "dynamic and static no longer afraid of?" That is, in a dynamic situation that your mind does not move: You are not influenced by external circumstances to move your mind. And when you are in a quiet situation, you have no thought of being quiet.
It is necessary to use the recitation of the Buddha's name to clear those two dusty states, causing the flowers to open; that is why you are mindful. When reciting Buddha's name, you need to transfer mindfulness - transform, turn evil thoughts into mindfulness!
Everything must let go. Letting go is meticulous.
Normally, treat anything to let go; No problems, the hell is afraid of something. It is to avoid the case of death, the ultimate moment, the delusion emerging that draws us into the endless cycle of reincarnation.
The purpose of cultivation is so that at the time of death, you will not have any problems, no more fear of anything; just take a moment to bring your own aura (the merit of wisdom and wisdom) of yourself!
Practicing, need to practice the same everywhere; everywhere you can be at ease. Tu is cultivating here here.
Practice, need not let the external external influence, drag your mind.
You need to pay attention to your own mind: It is necessary to have joy aroused from the inside, not the joy brought by good external circumstances. Therefore, you must always observe your own mind, consider your thoughts, and do not pay attention to the external environment. Must cultivate to the point of "I have nothing"!
Cultivation is to practice in both merit and wisdom. Cultivate until you are old, "old" then, the merit and wisdom will be complete; At that time, everyone will respect you (don't be greedy to be revered when you are young, when you are still lacking in blessings).
When you cultivate truthfully and correctly, people will come wherever you are; Everyone is happy to want to talk with you.
Need to cultivate to a place of mindfulness is always money Having mindfulness is to be able to distinguish between what is right and what is wrong; then act from there.
Practicing, is self-cultivation. Cultivate until enlightenment - enlightenment of suffering in Ta-Ba, suffering must be samsara. Upon enlightening one thing, a little wisdom appears.
Cultivate, need to practice until wisdom. What happens to you, you know how to manipulate it. When speaking, you need to know how to speak. Once I have stood firm, I can make others believe and receive it happily.
Having new wisdom does not create negative karma. Therefore, it is important to practice cultivating compassion and practicing Bodhisattva virtue.
Austerities, need practice for compassionate appearance. Cultivate so that others can see the kindness and compassion in their eyes!
When a practitioner accomplishes, others will be blessed. At that time, everyone started up a strong mind, diligently studying according to that person's example.
When everyone wants to practice, we encourage and cultivate together. If not, people will start gossiping, generate jealousy, dispute, and become ignorant; Then, the practice in the temple will not be peaceful anymore.
If cultivating well, naturally there are supporters; It's not about forcing people.
Do not hope, hoping for the owner to make offerings. Do not rely on the benefactor. You just need to make an effort to practice; When practicing successfully, Thien, Long, and Bat Bo all come to support you.
When sitting in Zen, see the realms of good or bad, do not be attached; Don't talk about it either.
The Dharma does not cling to, or cease, in the realms of Lac, Ming and Khong.
When the body is gentle and contemptuous, the mind will rejoice (Bliss); when in the heart less hopeless thoughts will be wise (Minh); and when no thought or thought arises, there is no state.
If you are entangled in the realm of Lac, then fall and Greed-World, attachment to the realm of Ming is stuck in the realm of Heaven, and cling to the realm of No, then stuck in the No-color-world Thien.
1. Confidence in Faith, Tu Khat Hanh
Human beings have Bat Suffering - Birth, Laoness, Sickness, Death, Prayer of displeasure (suffering due to the desire but not being satisfied), Divorce (suffering from leaving the one you love), Resentment Assembly (suffering because they have to be close to the people they resent, and the warm-hearted Ngu-warm (suffering due to being controlled by this body).
If you have the aspirations to cultivate austerities, then in the future there will be a little magic, you will know about this and that. At that time, I feel myself, I own myself.
If everyone has the vow to practice the Austerities, then everyone can become a Buddha, can be born in the West, be born from the lotus. For the monastics, the cassava plate is the Western robe.
The rice of the monk must be frugal; consider this as a asceticism.
Austerities need to suffer. The more you suffer, the more you get it.
A. Encourage Practice
Cultivation is based on one's practice. Like drinking water, when you don't drink it you don't know its taste; After drinking, we only know the taste. There is practice to ensure the cultivation is true.
Walk, stand, lie down, sit - you must use it to celebrate Dharma. Days pass quickly like arrows, do not be distracted!
"One day has passed,
The network also decreases,
Like a shallow fish,
Try asking something fun? "
Impermanence - a breath that does not come back, life is angry! Therefore, quickly become brave and diligent; do not let go of the lung, loosen up! Consider reciting the Buddha's name as the most urgent and urgent!
Wealth, wealth - everything we don't bring with us at birth and will not be brought with us at death:
"Everything can't be helped,
Only personal karma. "
Should not be for things outside of your body that waste your precious life. Must hurry, practice soon!
B. Happiness
The kind of good recitation, good karma we bring (from a previous life) is less, but more evil thoughts. Therefore, now we need to practice Suffering-virtue to eliminate karma. Therefore, should not be greedy sleep, greedy ...; must wipe out those bad thoughts! With mindfulness, there will be less defilements.
Suffering is the aspiration of the calendar of the Great Patriarch, of Duc Pho-Hien, Van-Thù, Quan-Yin, Ðề-Tib, the Great Bodhisattva. Today, I imitate and follow their example.
When Venerable Master Hư-Vân took three steps and prostrated himself to the mountain tide, he was alone, with a stick, and a bag to eat temporarily. Whenever bowing is taken into account; The story will be calculated tomorrow. His mind has absolutely no attachment to anywhere. Therefore Long, Thien, and Dharma protectors all protect him. We don't have a wish; If you pray, anything can be done to the place!
Cultivation of Suffering is to nurture the vow; see whether or not you have vowed. The less karma, the new one can vow to cultivate asceticism. The Buddhas, Bodhisattvas into the Dao by prayer.
Question: But I cannot make vows of Asceticism?
A: It is not "I want to be like this or that"; because then there is still the "self", the "I." May should be made spontaneously, and for the benefit of sentient beings.
Like myself, I never said what am I like, how is it? Even if I have achievements, I do not know!
What is the practice of suffering? That is, do not compare, calculate everything. For daily stories, do not start to discriminate.
Tu Suffering-happiness means washing the mind, changing the seed.
Suffering is not a simple thing, because cultivation of suffering is the practice of mind.
Austerity is not a simple thing, it is just to do "mess." Doing "harrow" is not the right solution. If you do "harrowing", even if you have to end your life, then reincarnation will not come anywhere!
The Austerities do not mean doing much.
Work is to train your mind to think.
Working must be leisurely; must not be too hasty or hasty.
If you work for a long time, you will get used to it; then, you can be wise. Then, what should be done, you just need to look at it and immediately know; I don't need to squeeze my forehead, to know it over and over.
Want to cultivate asceticism, need to practice whether we have the ability to let go of this body or not.
This body is false, bound to be destroyed; Even if you want to save it, there is no way to recover.
"Discharge this body" is how? That is to eat protein rice, wear rough clothes, and cover three layers of tomato; not to mention delicious, nice dress!
I teach you to cultivate based on the Dharma-discourse of Buddha Recitation.
Once upon a time, I was on a mountain practicing spiritually, depending on my predestined relationship. Whatever sentient beings can eat, man can eat it; that is called a natural offering of heaven and earth.
If you are too hungry and you can stubbornly endure it, the body will deteriorate. Austerities need to use the mind; should not cultivate extreme things like not eating and drinking.
I cultivate to this day, feeling that if the most, unfortunately cultivating wrong, it is dangerous. Only having the Buddha Recitation is the best.
What is "wearing raw clothes, eating protein"?
It is not that they do not eat rice! It is to eat to be full, not to eat well; wear warm enough to cover the body, not dress well. It is good to sleep just to get enough spirit; Do not fall asleep. Sleep a lot, it is easy to be drowsy, heavy.
If you order food without food or go hungry, it will make your body weak and it will be difficult to cultivate peace of mind. So it is a waste for you to come here to practice.
I used to work through it (fasting); Only when you are old, you know it's wrong.
The practice of sitting and sleeping is a requirement of good base; it's not that simple. Don't talk about the method, how to practice it, how to deal with it, etc ... Speaking of which, you add attachments.
This is something the good-hearted person wants to cultivate. When practiced, when there is mindfulness, nature will succeed. However, if the wrong way goes wrong, "the body is lost, hard to recover!" There have been many mistakes already!
Question: The Venerable Master often teaches us to follow the example of Master-Grand calendars. However, if the circumstances are too good: food, clothing, and shelter are not lacking, how to learn from the gods?
A: You should not be greedy, indulging in everything (eating, dressing, and living); just being able to live through the day is fine.
Do not say that there is a lot of food to offer, then plug the head into the neck to eat, and become a slave to the mouth. However, you cannot eat too little, so your stomach is hungry. You have to eat your stomach, eat enough and be full is good - don't tell the difference between good food and bad!
Currently, food contains chemicals, or has been contaminated with chemicals, antiseptics ... When the food is really inedible, or spoiled, do not eat it. Just eat in a mess, eat more, you can die!
3. Let go of This Rotten Leather Bag!
This rotten leather bag is for me to borrow and stay. However, also because of it (this body) that we create an infinite amount of karma.
We are all born of karma, so full of suffering. Fewer killing, reciting Buddha's name more, can eliminate the karma.
When the body is sick, but taking any medicine will not heal, recite the Buddha's name, the disease will heal, because Buddha Amitabha is the "Supreme Medicine King" (the highest physician king).
Can people escape fate and suffering?
For example, someone has a heart attack; If he concentrated on reciting Buddha's name, heart disease would definitely heal. If you recite the Buddha's name but still want to go to the doctor to check your illness, then recite the Buddha's name to return to recite the Buddha's name, the disease cannot be healed (lack of sincerity). If he can concentrate on reciting the Buddha's name, the disease will heal, but he himself does not know it!
This body is like a house; will definitely fall apart. At that time, no matter how we repair it, it crashes. Hence we have to let go of the attachment to this false body; Do not take too much care, worry about it.
After all, this body is an illusion; However, we must skillfully take advantage of it to practice.
Should not be too sorry for this body. When sick, don't be too concerned; Because it is a challenge. Too interested in this body that should be challenged.
When you are sick, you must more and more celebrate the impermanence of human life. It is difficult for anyone to avoid birth, old age, sickness, death, and suffering; Therefore, the more effort must be made, increasing spirituality!
If the monk does not rely on the Buddha's teachings but practice, ten cultivators have up to nine wrong ones.
A practitioner of Dharma does not say that:
"I don't need anything!" That is going astray
Read the Diamond Sutra for a lot, you will not be too attached.
Should read for many books, stories about Buddha, Bodhisattva, great ancestor calendar, Cao-monks, Dai-Germany. I must study their examples, learn from the experience of the spiritual practice that made them Buddhas.
Man is the one in the best spiritual position; because becoming a Buddha or falling to hell comes from the place of this man's determination.
After taking the Precepts, studying the Dharma, you have spiritual examples of the Patriarchs, and have scriptures to refer to - see if you can find yourself a spiritual path.
Books secular in life, you have read them all (not yet cultivated, still in society); therefore, you should not return to samsara for it in this Ta-Ba realm!
When you have free time, look at the classics. See the sutras to understand, and then rely on the scriptures to cultivate and practice; Not finished watching and chatting.
Someone (left home) still go to school (school in real life); really like a layman at all! When he doesn't have a spiritual pillar to lean on, the more medicine he gets, the more chaotic he gets.
You need to take the time; don't let time go to waste. Take time to see the sutras, bow to the Buddha, recite the Buddha's name, sit in meditation, chant the sutras!
Sutras are the way. When afflictions come, follow this "path" to be clear. If you know how to use the scriptures, when defilement comes, defilement means Bodhi. If you don't know how to use it, then defilement means ignorance.
If defilements come and you don't know liberation, then you will get stuck in defilements; That is like taking the wrong medicine, or drinking the poison. Medicine is up to you to drink or not. You must take the correct medication; Do not drink the wrong poison! What does that mean? That means you have to know "back to light", turn your mind around to see yourself (look at defilements according to the views of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the scriptures).
The entire Tripitaka is in our mind. Morality, concentration, and Hue are also only in this mind.
Morality, Concentration, and Hue are not something to be said to talk about - it is something used to practice, to cultivate (destroy) the Five Warms. Chanting does not have to be read aloud. You must be able to assemble the meaning of the Sutra; otherwise, it will waste you being ordained!
The sermon is just oral. You need to cultivate yourself so that you can look there. I have to realize everything; If not, you will be attached to the classic!
Where is the sutra? Sutras are hidden in our hearts, but we need to open up our wisdom to know them. If you don't enlighten wisdom then watch the Sutras, you will be vague. When wisdom opens, when watching the Sutta you will feel very mature and fluent; at the same time you will enlighten other truths as well.
When one reason is clear, all reason is insightful!
Now, when you are still in the scene, you should learn clearly the content of the book Zen Monastics of the Liturgy of the Year (ie, the daily recitation of the Sutra, two elaborate times). Later, when you are in a static scene, you will use it.
When the karma is done, the task is over. If you have more time left, please see the Sutta. See What suttas? As long as you finish the two-time, meticulous meeting, and then practice accordingly, you will definitely get rid of samsara.
You should be clever that the Assembly Quy-y; see if I have done it to the destination.
As "Self-refuge in the Dharma, may sentient beings, deeply understand the Sutras, and wisdom are like the sea." How wide is your wisdom like the sea? Outsiders take a look and they know immediately!
Not the classic is where the black and white paper is square; for the end, they are not objects of (the true nature) of you.
You must see the Sutta "Beyond the Appearance of the Sutras" - those who know how to read it will immediately know; anyone who doesn't know how to see it cannot know. Therefore, whenever reciting Buddha's name, reciting to a certain level, the Suttas will naturally be in your mind!
Question: What is Buddha?
A: Buddha is nothing. In life (society), there are physical objects and appearances. There is nothing to study Buddhism.
The thing "without form" means that materiality is neither non-zero, nor no different; and also that is the magic vacuum. Its meaning is externally, although it says there is that object, but in mind there is no (concept, silhouette) of that object.
Mind is "no". If there are material qualities in mind, then defilements will arise from there.
Q: What is "no"?
A: If you can see through (all things), it is "no".
Practice, need in and out (mind, action) must be unanimous; not "mind and mind" (say one word, think another way).
Seeing, hearing, feeling, knowing, is the effect of the six sense faculties - eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. My own nature is behind these six faculties. Every day, the nature is always right with you.
How to be safe? You need to be heartless (without mind). The mind (the mind-nature) is not based on nothing and cannot find it anywhere. Song mind (true-nature) which covers nowhere, turns around France-world.
The mind is in the present: cannot grasp.
The mind in the future: also cannot be grasped.
The mind is gone: it's also impossible to grasp.
When you get upset, when your heart is angry, do not grasp, pursue, pursue them, or find out where they come from. Once you cling to them, your heart cannot open; then, it is not possible to cultivate peacefully.
Whatever comes, you have to see through them, don't be attached to them. The most important is still the column of four words "A-Di-Da-Buddha" in your mouth!
Question: Have you read a book that says: "The enlightened one has stopped the evil he created himself; but he does not eliminate the evil." How to assemble this sentence properly?
A: Must cultivate merit. For example, if we meet someone who has no food to eat, we will give him some food. Always find ways to help the needy and miserable; so is the blessing of spiritual practice (ie ending all evil by growing good deeds). And therefore, I will no longer do evil deeds (thus, the evil nature dissipates by itself, the mind does not arise evil thoughts).
Chapter IV: The Pure Land Method
We only know we were born of our parents. But before being born by parents, how are their faces and faces? After I die, where will I go?
Now, by listening to the Dharma, knowing that there is the Buddha, Amitabha, is the one who made 48 vows, that whoever recites his name will be led to the West. If the Buddha has such a vow, then we must also take the aspiration: the vow to die of Pole-Bliss.
We must firmly believe that there is truly the World-Great Bliss, the Great Buddha of Great Compassion Amitabha; then we must always recite the Buddha's name so that we can be mindful until we die. When dying, but capable of reciting Buddha's name, Buddha Amitabha will come to lead. However, if you still have the thought of attaching to anything, even as small as a needle or blade of grass in this Ta-Ba realm, you will fall back into samsara again!
The karma of the Buddha, the Bodhisattva is their concern for living beings.
When the Ta-Ba realm still exists, there are Buddha and Bodhisattvas. When there are no more sentient beings, the Buddha and the Bodhisattva are no longer there.
Quickly cultivate to return to the West, otherwise it will be painful here! Here you feel hot, but in the West it is pure, cool.
The world is full of struggles - we must find a peaceful place like the West of Buddha Amitabha.
I was confused, confused at the beginning. Now, we need to wisely find the way at death - that way is Reciting Amitabha Buddha.
The Four Sanhs (the four types of beings born from an egg, from the womb, from low humidity, and from transformation) are in the cycle of samsara, without interrupting samsara. The reason is that the notion of greed, affliction, delusion ... arises when the Six Faculties (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind) come into contact with the Six Tran (image, color, sound, fragrance) , taste, emotion, french). So the six can be very harmful.
Today, if you have time to practice is precious, it is very difficult. Let's see if you can find a way out of samsara or not. If you pay too much attention to this body, then you will not have to practice reciting Buddha's name. Too much care for this body, there is no way to liberate it!
The Amitabha Sutra refers to the Buddha in six directions - East, West, South, North, Above, and Below - all showing the appearance of wide and long tongue (that is, the sermon of Dharma), making the Dharma-sound cover over three thousand Dai Thien realms. The World - mostly inductive to the West.
Where is the West? In our mind - when the mind is unaffected, it is the West.
Although our body arises in the realms of Ta-Ba, if we recite Buddha's name and recite the mind until the time is clear, then the Buddha-land will be pure. That is when the mind is pure, no defilements, no delusions; then it is the Pure Land - the Pure Land in the middle of Ta-Ba - whose mind is the West.
The Western Pole-Bliss is in our mind. We need to recite the Buddha until the mind is pure; mindfully, focused. When reciting Buddha's name, you need to take the vow of rebirth in the West, leaving the world of hardship. Do not be too beloved, cherish this fleshly body.
Each world as well as every grain of sand, including countless beings, that anyone can be born to the West.
Whenever we recite the Buddha's name, the lotus flower (in the West) will bloom. Hence saying: "Mindfulness (reciting Buddha's name), flowers bloom."
Reciting the Buddha's name to make us truly pure. Reciting Buddha's name is the path leading to the West. Whenever we recite the Buddha's name, we will go to the West without having to buy train tickets and fly; because the French boat has no form.
Reciting Buddha's name, chanting, viewing the Sutras and talking are four things that you will definitely do every day. It is best to talk less. The time to recite the sutras and watch the scriptures should not be more than the time to recite the Buddha's name. Reciting Buddha's name is still the key.
Seeing scriptures does not need to be too much. What is wrong with everyone, just say "Amitabha Buddha". To avoid the non-marketing story, just a sentence "A-Di-Da Buddha".
You should be quiet, calm down and recite the Buddha's name; remember to fall asleep as much as possible. When the mind comes to a place of monasticity - just one thought - you can transcend the Three Realms, straight to the West. When practicing, you need to practice: eyes that pretend not to see, ears but pretend not knowing; just honestly recite the Buddha's name.
No need to see many books, just recite Buddha's name for many. When wisdom opens, all the Suttas will naturally be at your mind.
Walking, standing, lying, sitting, should all be within the scope of Buddhist recitation.
When you meditate again, you will be enlightened that from morning to night, the mind always closes outwardly without ever contemplating whether our mind is directed toward Amitabha Buddha. Do not let your mind be tied to the crowd of followers, disciples, or the outside realm. If you tie to them, they will be rotated and dragged away; very scary!
Right now you are not mindful enough, ten sections cannot be one; hence it is dangerous. When you recite Buddha a lot, it is Living Meditation.
Some people say retreat, but they are full of delusion, not a bit pure. When you sit for a long time and feel tired, you should get up and walk.
When you recite Buddha's name and left the realm, that is Zen. You must maintain mindfulness, because there are always a lot of evil seeds in your mind.
When reciting Buddha's name without mindfulness, your heart always thinks this and that. Mouth of mind that mind is extroverted. If you really want to, then you can make your mind unique. If you don't have the heart to practice, how to recite Buddha's name (for success)?
If you can recite the Buddha's name, if you can leave the outside world and the Buddha is compatible, then you will know that this mind and Buddha are the same.
The most important thing when reciting the Buddha's name is to hear the recitation clearly.
That is to recite Buddha's name in Trung-Dao? No good, no bad.
Although reciting Buddha's name is also an illusion, it belongs to mindfulness. Therefore, we use illusory (recite Buddha's name) to destroy illusory (delusion).
Question: How to recite the most specialized?
A: This is also an attachment. As long as you do not pay any attention to delusion is okay (the mind will specialize). Because I told myself: "Do not give rise to thinking"; But thought is still self-provoking. Therefore, whenever we pay attention to the delusions, we are born with an additional hope; the more you pay attention to it, the more it increases!
When thoughts arise, don't be afraid. Leave it alone, don't pay attention to it. Just one heart recite "A-Di-Buddha". Thought, which has no entity, slowly disappears.
Whenever you remember to recite the Buddha's name, you should immediately recite; there should be no attachment that I have to do this and that. Reciting Buddha's name is reciting but not (attaching to) concept.
Reciting the Buddha's name and seeing that you are reciting or not reciting, are all attachments.
Reciting Buddha's name must depend on conditions. Phàm do what, where, always should depend on circumstances that recite Buddha's name. Not to say: "How many names I need to recite, how many kamma", or "I am reciting the Buddha's name, I cannot work", or "I am busy, not going to recite Buddha's name yet ..."
Each mind, each thought, you should not leave the Buddha realm. Walk, stand, lie down, sit - most move, do whatever you do, recite Buddha's name. Crying also reciting Buddha's name; Take a step and recite the Buddha's name. The power of reciting the great Buddha is unmatched, can make you attain Buddha-Tam-Buddha Recitation - a kind of Dinh is not ordinary.
When I was born, I brought a body filled with karma. Therefore, don't create new karma to die and bring again; no benefit at all!
Question: Which Buddha or Bodhisattva is best to recite?
A: All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are equally good. Not to recite one taste is better than to recite the other: it is all due to your discrimination and comparison. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas do not necessarily need you to recite their names.
Recite Buddha's name to a place of concentration, which is Zen. Should to say:
"Meditation and Pure Land,
Ten cultivators, ten people become.
There is Zen, there is no Pure Land,
Ten cultivators, nine lost their way! "
Just calmly just recite the Buddha's name, then relatively not go astray or happen harm.
If your mind is greedy, lustful, or lingering about something, when it comes to an end it will appear. Then, if you see that scene and then fall in love and chase after it, the result is that you will fall straight into the cycle of samsara!
If you know how to clear your heart and recite the Buddha's name, when you pass away, lotus, Buddha, Bodhisattva and the victorious realm will appear. Therefore, when you are alive, you need to cultivate to eliminate all mundane desires.
Opening at the time of Buddha-loss:
The purpose of the Buddha-loss is to allow sentient beings to die in the World of Extreme Bliss.
The world of Ta-Ba is born with death; In the Western realm, immortality is eternal. If we go abroad, we need money to buy a plane ticket, do not go to the West, we just need to recite Buddha's name to the point of being most specialized, there is no form (attachment). That is the "undying immortality" so. You have to recite the Buddha's name to have a place for you to deposit this life.
Reciting Buddha's name, you must recite the concept of not leaving Buddha. Recite clearly, listen to quibble, each word must be clear. The mind remembers, listening, listening, silently reciting - so that they concentrate on focusing on the Buddha's sign. Get rid of everything outside; depending on the concept of mindfulness, the mind will concentrate, specialize. Whether it's "reciting" or "reciting", whether it's "I recite" or "you recite"; Mass-everyone depends on the sound of reciting the Buddha's name, the mind will be the most specialized. Western Pole-Lac is also based on this recitation of Buddha's name.
When you do the Buddha-retreat, do not let the mundane thoughts draw your mind. If you do not pay attention, it is a waste of this precious opportunity.
Therefore, let us recite the Buddha's name with one heart and mind, and focus on the recitation.
Question: Is reciting Buddha's name to see Buddha?
A: It cannot be!
Question: If so, in chapter Ð Đại-Thế-Chí Recitation of Vien-Thong Buddha, there is a question:
"If anyone remembers Buddha, recites Buddha's name,
now or tomorrow we will definitely see Buddha;
Needless means of anything, open up with my own heart. "
what do you mean?
A: Yes! Opening heart means seeing the Buddha, seeing that the Buddha of self-nature.
The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas both have the aspirations that we can rely on to practice. Therefore, when walking, standing, lying, sitting, you should not leave the recite of the Buddha's name. When reciting the Buddha's name, we are compatible with the Buddha; This is a realm of no form or form.
Do not be attached, wondering why Amitabha did not appear to continue leading!
See how diligent the teacher is to practice, (I tell him to listen), when he dies, he needs not to question, the hell is afraid of anything to be born.
If you still have the ambition to help sentient beings, then that desire is also an attachment, a kind of fear!
The Venerable Master asked: Where is the West?
Teacher Quang-Hoa replied: Speaking according to the taste, it's in the West; According to reality, it is in my heart.
The Master said: Whenever a Buddha has a Bodhisattva, there is a Pure Land. Teachers must teach them so that their listeners have a place to train to practice.
The Buddha taught that if any person in a day, two days ..., up to seven days, can recite the Buddha's name to the place "one-pointed unrest", the Buddha (Amitabha) will come to lead. However, if you don't eat or sleep, it doesn't take seven days, just four or five days is enough!
Teacher Quang-Hóa says: I once witnessed Duc Quan-Yin appear with a solemn and beautiful appearance; His lost brother chain is also beautiful.
The Venerable Master laughed, saying: Really? Where is that Bodhisattva like that?
When you level sentient beings, you need to make a vow and follow them to practice, like Avalokiteshvara, Samantabhadra. However, until he died, he had to let go of everything. If the teacher's vows have not been fulfilled, the teacher will return here to continue his fertility; This merit is more victorious and great. May is what he inscribed in his heart.
Although the Buddha and the Bodhisattva appeared to enter Nirvana, but they are actually still around, not leaving those who are practicing like us; Only they do not appear.
As long as Sutras, Laws, Abhidharma exist, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas can teach themselves.
Don't assume that no one has the transmission, then there is no more (Buddha Dharma).
When dying, do not mind wanting to see the appearance of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas.
Bridging but not seeing is a good thing.
If you see them, those appearances are not reliable.
Must not expect anything; Just recite the mind of Buddha. The Buddha, the Bodhisattva appears from the pure heart of the mind, that's true.
Must let go of this (attachment to) this corrupt body. Mind is the mind. Regardless of whether this body turns round or distorted, don't worry, pamper it. Needless to say, it is still not right to have attained and obtained anything. (The Venerable Master's intention is to indicate the attachment of the Master Quang-Hoa, that he is also attached to the fact that he has witnessed the manifestation of the Bodhisattva).
In this (The Venerable Master points to His mind), there is nothing at all. Those people (The Venerable Master only group of lay people in the home listening to the lecture), there are still enough things.
Currently, the night you sleep dreaming, but in the morning it is also in the dream.
You are just like in a movie; This movie is very long - your whole life, but like a night dream!
(Venerable-Master encouraged Quang-Hoa to recite Buddha's name with real-form - true appearance is not form, not being born; that is true mind? , form, worldly affairs).
I said that much today. The monk will receive a certain part, but no one understands the world.
In the past, people used to say only one sentence was enough, today I talk too much! Wait when you come back, you will slowly comprehend and you will be enlightened and fully understood.
How good work?
Everyone needs to work together. It's not that you speak out of the mouth, sending others to do it; that is an attitude to avoid. Be gentle and peaceful to carefully explain the work, how to do it, for the listener to understand clearly. For example, explaining how to grow flowers that he does not understand, let him see; otherwise, the work will not be smooth, both you and y will be suffering.
When you work together, or when distributing work, you must rely on the spirit of the Dharma to do it - be polite and polite.
Do not call out loudly, send this, just that ... like father sends children, master sends me; that's the secular way, not good!
Do not be afraid to offend others.
You are a manager, you must try to do it well. Whatever needs to be said, it must be said; because of personal feelings (the need to say but not speak), to avoid making mistakes.
Managing is not easy. So whenever the Manager entrusts you to something - good or bad - be happy to accept it, don't get angry. Thus, the new mind is clear.
Good things go back to school, bad things are thrown aside. Inward understanding is clearly enough. Just follow here to practice patience-patience Ba-la-honey.
When you practice, don't ask "right" or "wrong", don't care about "is right" or "unreasonable." That is the difference between monks and lay people.
Please endeavor to practice. If there is a difficult problem, ask Master, I will answer it.
The Manager says what you are doing. With this attitude, your mind will not think wandering; and thus, it will be easy to practice.
If the Manager says you do something wrong but he did it wrong, don't argue, just stick to his will; naturally you will be able to meet the truth of this.
If you don't know something well, you should ask Master or your brother.
Do not be afraid to lose face, and then set up as a grudge.
The purpose you work for is to eliminate your own karma, not for others. When many people work together, whoever does not know, just tell that person. If he does not do well, please wholeheartedly help him.
Do not divide the boundaries between yourself and the person very clearly (this is "my" job, that is your "yours"). Anyone who does not do it, you should not be angry or upset, but should happily do it for that person. Always have compassion (generosity, forgiveness)!
When you do something, do not calculate your privacy.
Whenever you see that something is not done well, you should go to do it. Do not say anything about others (criticize, question why you will not do ...), because the merit of the work belongs to you. If you go on talking about others, only create more karma.
Working is a way for us to eliminate our own karma, not to do it for anyone else.
Whatever we do, we are willing to volunteer (we don't have to be forced to do it), our wisdom will grow.
Public works in the temple are completely "unconditional" (no one forces you, no one asks, you will volunteer if you want to); Therefore, when you do, do not complain or blame.
I try to do my own thing; Don't send someone else, making them upset. Making people upset, we won't have any merit. It is different when people come to help them with special intentions.
Do not be attached to anything, everything depends on the conditions.
When you have a teacher or brother to help you, if you feel afraid, fear that blessings, or think you are not worthy of help, or you are afraid of letting people help you, they will enjoy all the blessings. ; Ideas like that are all attachments.
If we want others to be blessed, first of all, we must be blessed in order to yield to them!
Because the Manager-Manager cares and cares for me, he rebukes me and points out his mistakes to let us know.
He is the kind-minded-intellectual - who guides the way.
Do not be scolded for one hour but immediately become annoyed, frustrated, and afflictive.
Always be happy to accept the advice, counsel, encouragement (or criticism, criticism) of others. Never protest, willful, unobtrusive; then the party sectarian, anti-rivalry, hate each other.
For example, if you clean tables and chairs, Master said you should clean again, you might think, "I have cleaned like this, why did you make me wipe again?" That is the fourth thought of the worldly people.
Practicing, you need to have a straightforward mind: "Yes! I will wipe it again!" This is also a test of your heart, whether you cultivate your mind or not. Therefore, practice precious in direct mind - straight mind. This is how the monk works.
If you know how to work, you will be free to go wherever you go.
Be dedicated to the responsibility.
If you keep eating and being lazy, not fulfilling your duties, then when the blessings are exhausted, karma hits you, naturally you won't be able to stay in the temple (that is to be disrespectful)!
Working on the job is to train yourself. So, as long as you do, you know how you are. At work you know how you are. When you are dedicated to the job, then when it comes time to study Buddha, recite the Buddha's name, you are also dedicated; You will see for yourself. For example, when cleaning, where is not clean, even if there is a little dust, you know by yourself, no one needs to say. Thanks to the mindful nature, whatever you do, just listen to it once, you will know how to do it yourself, and do it well.
Working hard, you need to be patient.
For example, when cleaning, you do it very clean; then it is like you have cleaned your mind clean and pure.
Let's do it while reciting the Buddha's name, we should not neglect or be distracted.
Do not let your consciousness, your thoughts, your mind, your body, your mouth and your mind are pure.
When you do something, you be careful to make it thoughtful and perfect. Do not be greedy, do everything, and as a result, nothing is done!
Everything must be patient; recite Buddha's name, too. Slowly cultivate, the mind will cease to be afflicted; after this it will be no different from Amitabha Buddha; extremely free!
Do not be attached to anything, bigotry.
Sometimes when I encounter something, I want to make it perfect, it's ideal; and then forgetting about others, ignoring them. That is, I am too attached to the job, too pursuing (success).
Every day do something, make it clear, with your mind always on the Buddha, also on the Way. Then sweeping the trash can also enlighten the Truth, because your mind is sweeping away the dust of ignorance!
You do the writing and paperwork (at the office of the temple), you have great friendship with sentient beings; Different from the world when they also work in the office or office. Your merit is equal to that of the afternoon chanting; so you should not compare and give birth to frustration and afflictions.
Do not be attached to form and appearance; Don't be gullible about dress, don't like this, don't like that. If not, in the end, you will not be able to do anything to help the temple and will be attracted to clothes and clothes.
I need to sacrifice myself to do anything for the temple.
If you worry too much about keeping this body, it will be difficult to cultivate merit; on the contrary, she was fooled by this rotten "leather bag".
Just follow my words and practice; just doing and reciting Buddha's name.
Except for the ego-clinging and the dharma, wisdom will open. Wisdom has no form, cannot touch it, hold it. However, if the wisdom opens, I don't know, but whenever I encounter something, I understand at first glance, and I know what to do immediately. That is true wisdom!
Reciting the Buddha's name must be combined with work. Reciting Buddha's name until the mind calms down, then you will be reciting yourself by reciting the name, one-pointedly then. When working, also keep reciting Buddha's name; but others do not know they are reciting. Just work diligently, do not start thinking or thinking about anything else, that is one-pointed mind, also the Buddha's mind, in accordance with the Buddha Dao.
Only when there is mindfulness, what we manifest or do can be compassionate; My point of view is also naturally mature and correct. This is also the mind of Buddha.
Question: Master said that we should not be attached. But if not attached, then how to do the job well?
A: "No attachment to work" does not mean neglect, neglect, irresponsibility, scandal, negligence; It is not like making a mistake, plugging in the neck plug is too much; Which means that after you've done everything, nothing will happen.
When your heart is still paying attention, still freaking out, worried about work, can't let go; then that is attachment. When working in an attitude that is not attachments, it is good to do it. Whatever the attachment, the job won't be good; Because attachments lack wisdom, but working also requires Concentration, it requires concentration and concentration!
Whatever you do, you need to use your mind and reflect to understand; If no one says what, I just follow the same words that follow a rigid way (questionable, don't know how to flexibly use it).
Need to have the capacity to judge and discern; Do not be like a stupid dog, seeing people throwing stones, he doesn't know what to throw but also runs after him!
Whatever you do, you have to plan ahead; do not have negligent scandals, make it through the loudspeaker only!
Must handle the work and furniture in the temple appropriately and completely. Like planting a cluster of trees, if you don't decide in time to plant them in time, the tree will die; then, the mistake is with you.
Ignore your mind - but that doesn't mean don't think about your work, it means something comes up, it's done!
Do not start discriminating (discussing, bragging, whining ...), giving birth to all kinds of stories (disputes, arguments, reasoning ...).
For work it is like that; for others it is the same!
Having been ordained, you must understand the meaning of becoming a monk. You have to be in control; don't let someone else drag them through their nose. If you need to listen, listen; work is not worth hearing, do not listen; smiling is enough.
Often see puncturing the brown shirt, touching your bald head, but warn yourself: "I am a monk!" If you don't do that, sometimes you forget, unconsciously let the mind run wild, no longer the mind of the renunciant.
When you wake up in the morning, you should immediately touch your head and ask yourself: "Why am I going to practice?"
"For the willow birth, for the end of samsara!"
Practicing virtue is the most important thing.
What to do at the temple? It is to practice virtue, to cultivate the self-contained aspect.
You just look at the things around Master and you will immediately understand. After listening to something, you must also try to be able to meet, not to pass your ears.
The young monks and nuns have a very heavy feeling. However, the body to practice, the mind must also practice. Three karma, body, mouth, and mind of the renunciant are completely different from those of the house. You must know how to get rid of birth and death. The purpose I cultivate, what I pursue, is to get rid of the cycle of samsara!
2. The Transcendent Path of the Practitioner
A. Before and After Life i
Having not understood the Dharma knowledge that has received the Precepts, it is very easy to be born with a high mind and high self-esteem.
You do not blind blurry blurry ordained, then blind fuzzy life span. Life expectancy is for repentance, not dragging the corpse away, dragging the corpse back.
When in the Forum, talk less and talk less with other people (or fate). Whenever you have time, bow to the Buddha and recite the Buddha's name.
In the Precepts, precepts come from everywhere, so it is always full. Remember, I didn't come here to emulate them to see who dressed better, stayed better, or ate better!
When taking the Precepts, if you work hard and be patient, you will enter the Path.
Anything (in World-forums) is also very simple; you should not compare with others to see who ate well, slept well, or what was this, something like ... Tho Precepts is the time to learn majesty, orderly; This is not the time to discuss, talk, and create karma.
After taking the Precepts, you must be completely different from when you were not yet ordained - take Precepts as Teacher, do more austerities, wipe out, correct all bad habits, get rid of all bad thoughts evil.
You must always recite Precepts; Thus, there is no such thing.
If you have the Precepts to stop and hold, then you will not easily do wrong or wrong things.
Life expectancy is the feeling of patience. When your ears hear people cursing or provoking you, and you don't mind it, it is Precepts.
"Morality" is the inner precepts (restrain oneself), not the external world (restrain others).
As soon as your heart arouses an evil thought, use the Precepts to stop it. That is called taking precepts as teachers.
Need to memorize the Japanese Buddhist Monk and apply every day.
B. Throwing Profits
When not yet received the Precepts, because you do not know the rules and precepts, you violate the Precepts; That was not intentional. Now has taken Precepts; understand Gender that violates the Precepts, it is intentional. This crime is very heavy. Real Life then must keep the Precepts, follow the Precepts and practice.
Life expectancy is not some kind of life-three (the burning mark on the head). Gender is in the mind. Therefore, when you know that you have done something wrong, immediately repent. When you practice the Precepts properly, there will be no more male and female form (or concept of).
Having to take Precepts, they must take them into practice. Not finished taking the Precepts is promoted to Germany, Dafa-Master. There is no high and low division between cultivators.
There are many who take the Precepts who learn more about greed. When we come back to the temple, we become indulgent, like to eat well, dressed well, in a good place; No longer know anything about courage and diligence.
In the Precepts there is a clear teaching of the rules of all things, including the deacon's work. You have to learn, read thoroughly, then it is not easy to make mistakes; and later, if you work as deacon, you will do well.
Morality is for self-commandment; Therefore, the bridge of penance is also About.
Keep Morality, but don't go to the extreme, the attachment. If not, although I intend to hold the precepts, the result will be pushed away by the precepts. Because, keeping the Precepts does not generate defilements (make yourself or others suffer, suffer) and do not conflict with others.
When you have your generals, human generals (distinguish between me and you, mine and yours), you will inevitably encounter disputes. Going to the temple to ordain is not to fight, to quarrel. Renunciation must "the mass system", in harmony with everyone; Well then, everyone is good.
Going to a monk's temple is not to dispute who is right and who is wrong. That attitude is clearly secular, always divided between me and people.
Having ordained as a monk is not in competition, competition, or quarrels over losing, more or less, right and wrong ...; Those things are all "smell" of fame.
When the Venerable Master said, "The renunciate is not taking part in the greed. Because all the benefits will be harmful, therefore, do not cultivate the desire for fame and goodness"; Someone asked, "So now, how about Master's reputation resounding in the four seas?"
The Venerable Master replied: "I also do not know anything about it, because they are all illusions. Nobody knows anything about me is the best!"
The questioner nodded: "That is the true meticulousness!"
C. This Mind
Now that you are ordained, you are like staying in the vast ocean, finding no way out.
The monk needs to have no need (no desire at all) and headless (not to let the mind get caught up in anything, anything, or conception, mood, or feeling).
You have to cultivate nature; That is modifying personality, bad habits; also ie tu Buddha-nature. Each person, everyone has the Buddha-nature pure; This Buddha-nature is the Dao.
You should depend on the nature of others (do not generate conflict), in harmony with people.
Leaving home is to treat the mind wandering like a monkey, fixing the mind of running wild like a horse.
As a monk, you must use your work at all times, to recite the Buddha's name to subdue the mind.
Monastics should recite the Buddha's name for many, not necessarily just sitting in Zen; because when the Zen practice is not ripe, you can easily get attached to magic.
Monastic practitioners need to disregard - who curses, humiliates, disparages, torments, behaves badly ..., you have to be indifferent. Must wipe out all connoisseurs of self ("I", of "I") to practice.
Already ordained already, you must clean your greed for eating, sleeping, staying happy; That way, you will cultivate blessings and blessings. Don't be like a housekeeper; full of attachment. The Sangha is one of the three jewels (the Three Jewels - Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha). Therefore, as a monk, you must cultivate well for good; but only frugally and simply can practice Precepts, Dinh and Hue.
The temple is a public ashram. Monks and nuns from other temples, if they keep the rules, they can stay in the temple to practice.
The deeds of the monk are to practice in color, feeling, perception, practice, consciousness - in Warm years; tu to make them "no." Therefore, please wear a coarse cloth, eat rice frugally. This does not mean that you are on a hunger strike, but that it is good to eat well enough, to wear warm enough; must not be greedy or demanding.
About eating and drinking; For the monk, whoever gives, cook what, they eat it. Do not be attached or selective; not greedy, like delicious. A little food, spoiled a little, but still eat. If you keep wanting to eat, like to taste, then your karma is not easy to eliminate. If you still voraciously craving, samsara does not escape! In fact, any food can be tested if it is tested for the toxin. When the masses eat something, you eat it is enough; Don't be frustrated or annoyed by anything.
Monks should never be afraid to die. If you die, then go to the West, the better it is okay!
Cultivators need the power to "turn everything into nothing"!
Put on your cassava plate, you have to cultivate to a point where you will not be bothered by anything else. Not afraid, bothered about the story; don't get involved in the mistress ... Everything, whatever fear is redundant.
A. Thap Phuong Pagoda
At the temple, everyone can come and live to practice. Those who come to stay must keep the rules set by the temple. You are not allowed to consider the face of good and bad people, and then freely do as you wish, if you want to let anyone stay, stay.
When someone comes to the temple, you must not have the mind to discern, compare, and specialize in telling bad stories and mistakes of that person. By doing this, you will make it difficult for cultivators. Just respect and follow the rules of the temple is enough.
Do not compare, distinguish one disciple of whom, the other is a disciple of whom. Everyone who obeys the Precepts, is organized, the same is all. Everyone is a disciple of Buddha. If you go ahead and divide clearly, "You are coming from outside, I am Master's disciple in this temple ..."; then you are not a monk!
As a monk, you just need to practice in accordance with the Precepts. Whenever you practice properly, you will be respected by everyone, even Thien, Long, and Bat Bo will support and protect you, and the pagoda everywhere is your home!
B. The Misty Place
When you practice, you must cultivate in a great temple (dai-forestry). Cultivation in places where there is a large mass, then it is possible to train into a talented person.
When you practice, you need to cultivate in a large, crowded temple. Because only in a place do many people know and learn from bad points. The evil people in the temple are all the guides for you to know how to improve your cultivation. Most of the patriarchs are from cooking, growing vegetables, splitting firewood ... in the temple. It is the places where no one pays attention, no one wins a job, that is the place for you to practice!
When you practice at a big temple, bear hardship about eating, living, and dressing. Make your eyes look like you can't see anything, your ears seem like you can't hear anything, just like a fool. Just like that, the Dharma Protector Vi-Ðà will definitely protect you. When you go to where you go later, everyone will respect you like Buddha. Then, if you want to build a temple, immediately there will be supporters immediately.
Today we have a good temple, an ideal ashram to practice in; Do not have any delusion, calculate where there is a better temple.
When your heart is not stable, there's no way you can practice!
Question: I want to leave from one temple to another, now there are three places; I don't know what the Venerable Master meant.
A: Are you leaving because your mind is not safe or because the temple is not safe?
If your mind is not secure, even if you run to the West, you are still insecure.
When your mind wanders, restless, runs wild, and you move it immediately, the mind is calm. Therefore, keeping the Precepts is extremely important. Whenever you keep the Precepts pure, your mind will be pure. When your mind is not stable, you also have an ego-form (grasping at the concept of yourself and yourself); hence you have to see that every thing is neither me nor mine.
If you want to go to the West, you have to cultivate to the point where the mind is no longer chaotic, that is, delusions do not arise again. When faced with anything, your heart also only has a pure thought, it is the West.
The mind is not safe, so the thought is wandering forever. Therefore, you have to take your mind for peace of mind; If not, then how "an"? When your mind wants to run wild, ask yourself where it wants to run.
C. Study Visit
In Taiwan there is no place to visit for study, so it is sufficient to study yourself.
Don't be restless, irritable, or impatient.
Where is knowledge-goodness? In my heart!
When the rice is ripe, the head of the rice flower is heavy, so it bends downwards; When rice is not ripe, the tops of the plants stand upright. (Those who understand the Dao, practice proficiently, they will lower themselves; but those who are new to the Tao are always proud, not able to bend themselves.) For cultivators who are not good, you must also take part in learning; For excellent cultivators are rarely found, but fear that you also cannot see where people's excellence is. Therefore, visiting to study bad guys is also true; because you see their bad points, their faults, use it to alert yourself, to awaken yourself; ask yourself if you have made the same mistake, and avoid it.
Join interview to learn to study the bad points, bad points of people. Did they make that mistake? We have to practice so we don't commit it! They do not practice the Precepts correctly; I have to cultivate properly in the Dharma Precepts!
You are ordained for the sake of spiritual practice, so do not go outside to learn more worldly dharma. The things that the Buddhist-Academy-taught school is not necessarily Dharma-Buddhism-Buddhist studies, because it is always interspersed by subjects like Sociology, Economics, etc. If you stay close to In such an environment, over time, your mind will have no way to escape from the world.
When you come to Buddhism, shave your head into the monkhood, see if you can kill birth and death; that is something you cannot help but understand. As a monk, I still want to learn to earn degrees and more knowledge; Try asking at school anyone who teaches you to wear raw clothes, eat rice, and let go to practice?
Many monks have already ordained, went to study at the Buddhist Academy. After graduation, they only increase self-esteem, pride, just want to be Head-Abbot. However, where do they rely on "mass management" to make people harmonize and happily practice spiritual practice? They have no capacity to convert others; Nor can anyone stand them!
Therefore, the Sangha must practice ascetic practice, recite the Buddha's name for many, and bless the song tu.
D. Relations Between Fellow Practitioners
As a disciple, if you know your teacher has made a mistake, no matter how big, you should not tell others. Because, if you do that, it's also a bad act!
After listening to others talking about his teacher's mistakes, you bring those things he heard to everyone, so much of his sins are attributed to your body. Because it is fellow initiates' wrongdoing.
For fellow practitioners in the temple, you have nothing to be afraid of. Please respect, respect each other.
When you want to ask someone to do something, do not use the attitude of command (such as loudly, dreadfully, speaking curtly), causing them to be like the wrong father, the wrong owner; because that is the attitude of the secular.
If we are a practitioner of the Dao, we must take the Buddha Dharma as a model (ie use soft, gentle words, respectfully ask them to work).
When brothers and sisters sit together, you should discuss the Dharma. Do not talk about every other topic to avoid confusion. Do not participate in chatting, talking nonsense, wasting time.
When someone in your brother talks about the Dharma, you should not interfere with secularism. If not, the more you talk, the more you go off topic. Moreover, when you talk secularly, you should always mention about food, food is good, food that is bad etc ...
Both monks and nuns must divide the boundaries clearly. Those who live up to the hundred years old must also have such clear division. Unless you are enlightened, you realize fruitfulness, you have a deep Concentration; otherwise, you will easily make mistakes, causing all kinds of complex problems.
When monks and nuns talk to each other, they are not allowed to face to face, eyes to eye. When monks and nuns need to exchange or give anything, the two sides must not touch each other.
Master-initiate has Dinh-force; otherwise, Moi cannot let you guys get closer to within a hundred steps. They do not have a tenth of righteous thoughts now; therefore, you are still in a very dangerous circle, so you need to pay close attention.
E. Patience
Life expectancy is patience. If you can endure everything patiently, then it will be difficult to break the Precepts.
You must cultivate patience because patience is the root of cultivation. If you do not know how to endure, it is only wasted on the robes wearing you. Do not always assume that whatever you do is right (others are wrong); That attitude will make it difficult for you to cultivate your mind.
Based on patience, practice is the basics. As a result, wherever you go, you have the ability to feel other people. Therefore, practice patience-patience will have virtue; whoever sees you will produce joy, and you can transform them.
After being ordained, you must consider patience-patience as the highest, number one. Those who speak badly, swear, disparage, criticize you, are your guide. Without them you cannot progress, you cannot achieve.
Do not think that these adversity hurts you and then hate them, get bored with them, look at everything that is not pleasing to you, everything will throb, and then you think: "Well, wrap it up! Go home. already!" But, where to go well? Can't get married, because you know it's more painful than that, what's the difference between living in hell?
When someone attacks or criticizes, you should be patient. Even with injustice, I also tried to stop. You also have to thank people for being so lucky to be (criticized) like that.
When someone gives you evil, mistakes that blame, slander on you; You need to be patient.
Even if you have the righteousness that others slander, say that you have wronged you, you should still repent, apologize to that person (don't argue); because to practice is to practice here.
How to observe? You have to contemplate those words as money; And when the other person spits out evil words it's like throwing money on you. If when these realms come, you are not patient, do not know how to cultivate patience, then only all kinds of negativity and frustration will be born!
Insults, denials curse you, you think he is bad. However, from the point of view of the Dao, y is the one who helps you; you must thank y. He brought money from Extreme-Bliss realm to give to you, you refused to accept it, ran away again, crying loudly!
When something happens to you, you can endure it, so your cultivation will improve. Even if you are right, do not argue; just repent, apologize to people is enough. That is, you are accumulating merit for yourself.
Patience The Balaamma is a virtue that, when you are patient, you do not feel and think that you are doing the virtue of being patient. (does not reveal inner anger); because that's all general appearance.
When you are patient but your heart does not feel anything, don't see what happens; like when someone curses at you, you don't know they curse you; then it is true that the patience, patience, and compassionate
F. A Distinctive Concept
If you are unable to meet the Dao, even though you are a monk, your mind is still wandering around outside, turning according to the external realm and things; That is still very dangerous.
The temple is also full of stories, black and white, beautiful and ugly. Qualified people think: "Wait for me to practice well, I will degree you again." Those who do not understand will do bad deeds, causing more resentment of sheep. (I mean see if you can change the environment or not.)
If anyone wants to harm you, you should think: "Maybe I used to harm him in the past; now I should not cause more resentment of sheep, but rather save him."
Everything has cause and effect, even as small as a needle, a thread, a word - all have cause and effect.
Never practice stubbornness.
Someone asked: My bowl was broken; is my rice bowl lost too? (That is to say, the bowl is broken, it should be all over.)
The Venerable Master replied: Don't be attached. If her bowl had been broken by someone, and there were people who resented it and wanted to take revenge on the other person, it was clearly because of the bowl that she created resentment against the sheep, causing hatred towards others!
When karma strikes, ignorance and afflictions arise. If you don't have mindfulness, wrong thoughts will arise. At that time, you will see thorns and frustrations for everyone. See what you are not satisfied. You just want to wrap up in another temple; or you feel religious life tasteless, makes no sense, just wants to get it done.
You know what; As long as you bring up a disturbing thought, you are wrong, no need to talk about whether you are right or not!
Don't find out if people have made mistakes. You have to light your heart, illuminate your mind, reflect back - see if you've done well.
Cultivation is modifying oneself based on the truth, not relying on others. Therefore, you must respectfully respect the Three Jewels (the embodiment of truth).
Everyone who is a living being has faults of evil; But every day to repent, to repent, to change, it will be good. Whether it is a species that hatched from an egg, or a birth from a womb, from a damp place or from a transformation - there is Buddha-nature. Many things that are animal nature are very flexible, more than human; However, it is only a sin that they cannot speak for us to understand.
You realize your bad thing, which is a very good thing.
As a human being, everyone has a stomach full of troubles; if I do not know the error, how to practice? Therefore, the amendment is from here, from this awareness that eliminates negativity. If not, every day you will be the same, unchanged - just eat, sleep, work, not cultivate to enlighten the Truth; you will still be the same when you get old, and your mind is full of troubles!
You are just full of bad thoughts all day, without a little mindfulness; you don't think about materiality (things that have appearances such as beauty, clothes, money, temples, rice soup ...), you also think of formless things (having names without forms such as fame or gain, happiness, enjoyment, ideas, thoughts ...).
Whenever you dispute, fight, quarrel, calculate more than lose, your mind cannot be at peace. Don't assume other people are wrong, you are right. They are not wrong, not at fault; but you did not know how to practice. Only because your heart has disturbing emotions, anger, irritability, resentment, the mind is not stable. Just let it pass and it will dissolve, and you will have mindfulness.
People say you are ugly, you are bad; you should not be angry, angry or upset. They praise you for being good, you are good; you do not be happy, excited. In the bad there is always the beauty, in the good is always mixed with the bad.
Whoever compliments, caresses, impulses you; that person is not a good teacher, not a master. Those who curse or curse you regardless of whether you are right or wrong; they are the masters. When they treat you badly, that's when they help you achieve.
If when you are pressed, treated badly, you think: "They despise me like that, but still, I keep cultivating for them to understand"; you are a person of character; And so, one day you will succeed!
You are right and wrong; let him do whatever they do, as if you were wrong. (Because you explain, no matter how controversial, he will not listen; what is the point of argument?) That is you know how to control yourself, not be moved by outsiders or things.
The realms you are exposed to now are all planted by the seeds you planted in the past, now they appear only.
Seeing people in house wearing beautiful clothes (ie a kind of scene), someone thought: "How hard is it to go to practice? ... "; Some people think differently: "Oh! In this world of Ta-Ba suffering only dressed so nicely; what's so cool, strange?"
Many female believers, before they became ordained, stuffed with chalk, put on lipstick, eyeliner, and painted eyebrows ...; Now the girls are nuns here, no one else, look better!
Two people, one ugly girl, one beautiful girl. She is ugly and knows she is ugly, so she wears lipstick and makes up well. However, the more you put on makeup, the more ugly; not equal to being natural!
Cultivation needs to have the capacity to endure - to suffer, to eat protein, to wear rough clothes.
In this life, the material world is rich, it is very easy to have whatever you want. Many things, due to advanced technology, no longer need to use limbs, so extremely comfortable.
As monks and nuns, you must observe and reflect on the spiritual examples of the previous Patriarchs. Following in their footsteps, cultivating will bring an end to samsara.
I (Venerable-Venerable) do not practice for the sake of enjoyment; I want to make things like eating, sleeping, and clothes so simple. I'd rather be despised by society, think that everything here cannot match the world!
When being respected by society, between them and themselves will create a bond of affection, love, and then will lead to the suffering of being apart; The result is a vicious cycle of samsara! When you are despised and despised by society, you will be less afflicted (like taking one, owning the other, associating with one person for another), less distrust (keep thinking about things one after another, one after another, endlessly), and easier to devote to!
When the benefactor treasures you, they make offerings. Therefore, you should have gratitude, appreciation, and practice properly.
As you dress modestly, frugally, dare to sacrifice themselves to work for the temple; outsiders look at you, they will find that: "These monks really touched me; they know how to devote themselves to the Tao, for the temple ..." and naturally they want to make offerings to you. Thus, invisible medium, you have them, causing them to plant good roots in the field of merit. This is the French propaganda, so lucrative!
A cultivator must endure hardship, not be attached to the concept of "I" and "mine", and then he will develop a habit of grooming beautifully, eating well, and wanting everything to be convenient. suspicion, affluence. Wearing a clean, neat brown shirt is enough; Because a monk who lives too happy, too enjoy, no family member wants to make offerings! If a practitioner knows how to endure hardships and hardship, then the host will admire and want to make offerings. Life just needs to have rice to eat and to wear warm clothes.
The renunciation: foot pedal land of the credit contest, the sky's head of the contest, the body wears the benefactor shirt, mouths to eat rice donated, sleeps in the laboratory built. Just count that every day you cultivate a hundred merit coins. Whenever you start the mindfulness thoughts making your body and mind impure, then deduct thirty dollars. In addition, the food and meals cost was thirty dong, the shelter fee was twenty dong, the clothing fee was fifty dong; a total of one hundred and thirty merit coins. See, the spiritual merit you make during the day is not enough to pay the above costs; Then what merit do you have? The creditors are very hard to spend!
Want Sangha solemnity, myself must be dignified. Wherever, anytime, I have to be dignified. For example, when chanting the Sutras, if people see that the monks and nuns are very solemn, then they will naturally develop belief in the Tao, and not consider Buddhism as a negative thing.
Bodhisattva is the level of being, so we have to extend good affinity with beings. Currently, I am alive, when people come to see me, you must try to make good relationships with them. Seeing any believer, you should also welcome and greet; but do not be predestined (using emotional tricks to make private gain), do not pay high tribute, that "I am a monk, you are just a layman!" You must understand that all my daily living expenses such as food, accommodation, and clothing are donated by the owner!
When someone has a bad affinity with the benefactor, you must not be influenced by that person, making you also have a bad affinity with the benefactor. You must be able to judge right and left, to be your own boss; because we need to broaden good conditions.
So say: "A person becomes a Buddha, first causes conditions and conditions"; that is, when you have not become a Buddha, first of all, you must have good conditions with everyone.
When devotees come to the temple, you should skillfully use good words to welcome them, invite them to bow to the Buddha, eat rice, take a walk to see the temple. That is the auspicious affiliation, and also the way of practice. The most essential thing is to not pretend to be lofty, "I am the Teacher". That is not practice at all. Believers are those who are studying, if you are a cultivator, you must practice the Bodhisattva Path. Do not cultivate bad behavior; must practice good gesture. When a dishonest person comes to the temple, do not pay attention to him. Don't nag, don't curse others all the time. To practice, you must cultivate until you have wisdom; then, whenever you touch anything, you can also understand immediately. At that time, you can say whatever you want. When we have already stood up, others will thus generate a happy heart to accept your word, and you will not create karma.
Believers bring items to offer, that is because they want to bless. So even if the object is as small as a blade of grass, you must be happy to accept it. If when you see that they bring good things back to you and you are born greedy, you cannot attain the Truth. When someone brings bad food, and you cook it delicious, it is you who cultivate both blessing and wisdom! If you do not know how to handle it appropriately, on the contrary, blame the benefactor for offering spoiled food; it is your own affliction and self-created karma alone!
Whether family members or relatives come to the temple to eat, I should advise them to offer rice money to the temple so that they have the right concept (about cause and effect, karma.)
You should be patient, loving all living beings; think that they are just one. For the owner to practice again, to cultivate a good base; we have to take bodhicitta, a compassionate mind for them.
When someone is talking, don't interrupt or interrupt. Wait for them to finish speaking, let's talk; that is called politeness. When you continue, talk to the benefactor, you should only talk about Dharma. When they want to talk secularly, apologize and say, "I don't have time, please go to Buddha, or go for a walk." When you meet bad guys, you should not pay attention to him for the best; because two coins that hit each other must definitely clatter!
Relationship with people: they are just social. Therefore, when you approach them, your mind must be in control, there is always Buddha-dharma (enlightenment). Should not discuss secular life with the world. Let's compare the Buddha-Dharma.
Talking about parallel jokes full of Buddha-Dharma will make the listener less disturbing.
Those who practice without saying the Buddha-Dharma go to discuss the situation; Which is the duty of the monk? When a practitioner still talks mundanely of the world, that is, he has not been able to break the mundane spirit (mundane habits); then how is y qualified to talk about the two words "spiritual practice"?
Each teacher has a different fertility method; Therefore, you should not arbitrarily disparage or criticize. Because if you do that, you will have a negative influence on the belief of the Dharma of others. This has cause and effect!
Because we want to help sentient beings, we must agree, have to follow sentient beings, just as we deceive the child (because we want to save its life); but mostly for sentient beings to plant good roots in the field of blessing.
I don't ask for anything. Beings who see me give birth to joy; However, I myself did not know.
Whatever we do, we must be clear about the truth of it in order to lead and guide people. If we do not understand the truth, how to lead others?
Currently, cultivators need to use the Buddha-dharma and truth to guide and educate sentient beings. Otherwise, everything will turn into secular; Not only can I not depend on anyone but I also lose my generosity!
Hoang Phap, lucrative: this is not an empty talk. As long as you cultivate well, it is natural to see you, everyone will be happy and respectful.
(For example, Venerable Quang Kham: He never went down the mountain, but many who admire and take refuge in Him are not many.)
Hoang Phap, profit is required to sacrifice this body.
You have to be a Bodhisattva. Not being able to be good is enough, and then ignoring others. We have to consider others as vital, and whatever we do. Must do to benefit others. When you are for your own benefit only, your ignorance, defilements will be full.
The monk takes kindness as the root, uses means to make use of, takes great compassion as a body. All (all roots of goodness, all methods ...) arise out of compassion.
Gia, such as practicing qi, habits, ignorance, afflictions, bad seeds. Quoc, such as the mass. We must rule first, then rule the country later. That is, first of all, eliminate all bad habits, ignorance of your afflictions; and then bring virtue to inspire others, "mass rule."
5. The good point of cultivation
Monasticism is filial piety. You need to repay the four great blessings (parents, gifts, Buddhas, and masters), and save the three paths of suffering (hell, hungry ghosts, animals). You will be free from your parents for many lives, not just parents in this life.
The clothes of the cultivator not everyone can wear. Only a blessed man can wear it.
A monk, although he does not practice very much, only knows to be a vegetarian, does not kill, and does not have great sins, he can be reincarnated in the next life and practice again. He will not fall into the three paths of suffering or the four types of birth (born from the egg, from the fetus, from a wet place, or from a transformation).
Question: When a renunciant breaks the Precepts, commits an infinite crime, falls into hell, is he even worse than a layperson? Therefore, spending by practicing at home is better?
A: It 's still better to leave home! Although y (the renunciation) is miserable, but when he endures all retribution, he can return to practice. Certainly then he also became a renunciate, because he had planted many healthy roots. (A non-monk, by comparison, is worse than a monastic monk who breaks the precepts).
For those with basic abilities, after going to practice, he understands everything, he can get good grades as well as bad points between the monk and the layman. Someone can never meet that.
The reason you cannot see, cannot know the good points of renunciation, is because you still have karma. If those karma are not eliminated, when you die, they will appear.
Looking superficially, the renunciants only know to eat three meals a day, doing something or that. In fact, being ordained is because of wanting to eliminate greed, anger, delusion, and eliminate karma.
Someone said: The monks who are vegetarians should speak the rhetoric of vegetarians; If everyone is a monk, what will be the society like?
The Venerable Master replied: Everyone who practices monasticism together will give birth to the Ultimate-Bliss World in the West; Is not that better or not?
6. One-inch High Path, One-yard Macau
The negative karma I created from many lives is as high as a mountain. In this life, when we practice, those negative karma may appear. Therefore, there are times when I feel more karma after leaving home than when I was at home. At that time, I need strong strength to overcome. If we cannot surrender to defilements and initiate thoughts again, then new karma will be created!
Monastic practice is not trivial.
The ordination is very much. When the resenters, the relatives, the creditors (in the previous life) come to collect the debt, then we get sick or encounter all kinds of troubles that come. If we can't pass it, there's no way we can safely cultivate the Dao. Therefore, when you are sick, encourage yourself, and persecute yourself. Lord Buddha, the more you recite the Buddha's name, the more karma that you have, the karma will dissipate.
The laypeople look at (the cultivator's activities) but do not understand, so they assume that the cultivator is very miserable. For those who do not have solidified-mind, then he regarded life tu as life in hell on earth; he always feels that anything is not good and not self-centered, causing many defilements. There are many of them, though the Dao-mind is more solid, but because of the bad seed planted many lives ago, even though he listened to Master's teaching, he did not put anything in his heart. The influence of the mundane world on them is still heavy, profound.
At your temple, you can see people coming from everywhere: what kind of appearance is this, what shape is that ... enough. Young monks and nuns, the concept of a love affair is still very heavy. When you see a couple of boys and girls coming, if you are disturbed by that scene, and then give birth to your desire and preference, you will stop losing the Dao-mind (spiritual practice). If you perceive your favorite mood as sin, then there is the Dao-mind.
Today's young monastics is very dangerous. They are very susceptible to change of direction from the outside. Those who are half-life monastics (that is already married), have tasted all the smell of life, so for the external environment, they have somewhat more self-control. However, if a young person is ordained and will practice properly, then wisdom will open, and it is easy to achieve.
The woman has been practicing for 500 years. If you know how to practice, you can right away in this body, this life will be liberated. But you do not take too seriously the body: it is good to eat full, warm is enough, if you don't need to sleep, don't sleep. Failure to do so is only greed, disarray, loss of Dao-mind only!
She was born as a woman, but was ordained, met the great Thien-knowledge-wise, and was in the ashram but in peace; You must feel that you are lucky! They should quickly cultivate, change their temper, eliminate bad and evil thoughts, change old misconceptions.
Taiwan is still good because you can still leave home. If not, I am afraid that the women in society will only perish. Now that you are ordained, if you still refuse to practice, do you know that in the next life, will you still have human bodies to practice?
Do not think that these nuns are very hard, and then they hate this, angry that, seeing everything is wrong; thinking: "Well, let's go now!" Song, the girls go, but know where to go? It is also impossible to get married, because then, in the end, only more suffering is like living in hell! 1
Many girls have suffered from a serious illness - a disease of many emotions. You mustn't commit that romantic game again, like you like to sleep together. (If this girl refuses to sleep with the other girl, she says she is not nice to her.) You have to sleep separately, separate a little. If you keep on sticking with it, that's evil!
It is difficult for a woman to leave home; Why are you asking to come and go for interviews, to learn and to do? It is only necessary for the women to learn for themselves (at the moment of initiation of mindfulness, when there is greed, hatred, delusion, arrogance, wrong view). The teachers should go to the interview to learn!
They should try their best to avoid talking with men and teachers.
1 When Venerable Quang Kham (age 83) wanted to enter nirvana, he said: "The nuns in Taiwan cannot suffer - suffering here refers to all kinds of suffering, such as doing all kinds of ascetics, be patient, or when diligently reciting the Buddha's name, bowing to the Buddha ... if your body suffers from pain, strength - you cannot bear extreme suffering, there is no way you can attain it! "
Greed, attachment to everything in the world, you will forever be reincarnated in the four species (born of eggs, from a boy, from a wet place, from a transformation).
Everything in society is matter, feeling, perception, formations, consciousness. When not ordained, everyone sowed all kinds of seeds of the immoral world.
Everybody wants to enjoy material things, everyone loves beauty; well-dressed. The rich have the power to pursue such things; those who do not have money are also pursuing them because of these things.
Whoever greed for things like bar, flavor, taste, contact, and dharma, there will be reincarnation in the four species.
People are confused by the five senses. Just because you want to eat well, you should kill yourself to feed your life. They do not know that eating the flesh of living beings means eating themselves. Because, to eat a kilogram of meat, you must pay 16 amounts; this is something you cannot avoid. Therefore, for a lifetime, people have to pay debts and collect debts; eternal and eternal lives cannot escape samsara. More than likely, the meat they ate was probably the flesh of sentient beings who were their parents in the past. How can my mind be so impatient?
The layman kills himself to eat meat; sentient beings killed were all their relatives in previous lives. "You kill me, I'll kill you;" so that there is samsara. The family members do not know, lack awareness, think that if they do not give birth to children, their life will be very miserable; I lamented that I could not be like other people's families, and my children were full. They do not doubt that, no children ie at least injustice, debt!
Being filial to the Buddhas and the Toes is filial piety towards your parents.
You should cleverly use all ways for your parents to understand the Dao. If there is sincerity, at least they will be born into heaven.
As a monk, we have to free our relatives. At the very least, make them believe in Buddha, be a vegetarian, do not kill; That is the way to fulfill your duties.
Thank you very much to parents who are born and nurtured, if they do not become ordained, it will be difficult to repay this merit. That is because between parents and children there is inherent resentment and affection that has been woven for many generations.
As a monk wants to repay the four great blessings, you must free your parents, causing them to die. But parents do not have to exist only in this life; but my parents have many generations ago, it is so unreasonable that I don't know. If you don't practice, how can you understand that in your previous life you had so many parents? But don't start loving your parents; remembrance of those memories is something samsara!
As parents, everyone wants their children to get married, have children, just like them - a life filled with love, suffering, brain. If you, a practitioner, are interested in these things, you will be free to play that play later. These are "plays" that you can perform very naturally, without having to learn how to be polite, mean, honest, and wholesome. When perverted as animals, you will perform these acts even more naturally!
The better your parents are to you, the more they have predestined resentment towards you.
The cultivator's point of view is very different from that of the world: The more your parents love you, the more they will be held when they die, they will not let go of you. But nevertheless, you should not be so upset, blaming your parents.
Please diligently cultivate the Dao. If not, you will fall in love and hate, suffering away from the one you love; then get absorbed in the samsara chain. It's very dangerous!
Do not attach to (attachment) to parents, relatives, or brothers in this life. They are all creditors, who have resentment towards you from many previous lives.
Each person is born of cause and effect; then die because of cause and effect. Our parents and relatives are in the cycle of reincarnation; Therefore, we must quickly practice in order to free them.
I'm born because of karma, but don't die because of karma.
Must practice - on the temple four great blessings, under three degrees of suffering. Themselves have to practice for the liberation to have the place to achieve.
Parents gave birth to me, but they don't know where I came from. Now we must find the path of birth and death that we have come from; means we must escape samsara.
In my life, I only eat three meals a day and drift along the stream of life and death.
People are busy all day working just because they are pursuing fame and status, because they want to enjoy the material, eat well, dress well, stay happy.
If a practitioner works, it is also for inner training. Therefore, the work does not need too much, should not be rushed; No one needs to praise me either; not pursuing, wanting anything. Only wearing the clothes of the West of Bliss.
For cultivators, the worse the realm or the external environment, the better. The more a practitioner experiences as much hardship as possible. That is the difference between cultivators and people.
The lay people have suffering, but the ordained also have suffering. People suffer because they don't have insight; The monk is suffering because he wants to kill birth and death, wants out of samsara.
Everyday people come back and forth, chasing talents, beauty, fame, realism (money, beauty, fame, eating, enjoying or sleeping), and are always polluted by the environment. mentality; absolutely not owning yourself.
Cultivators need to wash off those dirty things. Even though life is difficult, but a stable and lucid mind is enough.
When in life, everyone was chasing after the flowers. Having money is happy, not money is miserable. So calculate all the ways to make money. Then when the pursuit of the desire arises, the natural mind will be in a coma, just like a drunkard. Everything in life is not out of pursuit, of desire; Everyone wants to eat for a living.
Therefore, the renunciant must always generate righteous thoughts and thoughts in accordance with the truth; have to say the Buddha's Dharma, thus liberation.
We cultivators should not be greedy to eliminate defilements, anger, and delusion. There should be no lifestyle like the world: eat well, eat well, sleep must be enough.
Cultivators call themselves "the poor" (poor monk) because the simpler the life, the more corresponding spirituality becomes, not the richer and more affluent it is! If not, let the greed exist, not be eliminated; then even if you say you practice, but delusions, afflictions from that greed still flock to.
The monastic and the people are very different. Practitioners do not say "true" or "incorrect"; because "yes" they also accept, but "not true" they also accept. Just like that, if you practice patience-patience, you will slowly subtract the self-form.
In the middle of society, cultivating (referring to people in the home), it is not easy to cultivate. Because the pressure of the people around you will make you agree to follow them; otherwise, they will attack you. Therefore, it is easier for those who are ordained to cultivate.
When you have experienced waves in life, then go to the temple to take a spiritual step, practice patience-patience, you can easily get along with others.
Deliver confidence, saying, "I absolutely have to become Buddha!" Saying that means that you have the intention to become a Buddha, then you have the motivation to make yourself diligent in your religious life.
Don't always boast, talk about yourself, because the ego will obstruct your cultivation.
In real life, you like to wear beautiful clothes, but when you go to a temple, those things are no longer appropriate. At the temple, you wear clothes that no other person wants to wear. Your angry, angry habits must also be modified a little. Just cultivate, then you will feel through everything.
Renunciation: with mindfulness. In real life: there is no mindfulness.
To practice and to live differently.
Life of the people is like dreaming during the day, but at night is also a dream, dreaming of the dream of samsara.
People can enjoy pleasure, go out somewhere, seem like a lot of joy. But when the fun is over, the mind is reeling with all sorts of delusions and afflictions; The mind is not pure.
The cultivators, although the clothes, the food, the accommodation are not happy, but when they are done with anything they can sit down to sit in the sitting position, recite the Buddha's name, cultivate, and their mind is pure, without disturbing emotions. that is, can lead to mindfulness.
Although clothes, lodging, and eating are not well-off, we practice purity, but we practice. When my mind doesn't entail everything, everything; every day is like that; then that is a pure place. The world can only live in the place of the Five-fold, bad and evil.
Many people hope that their children have many friends, boys and girls, then they will be happy. But children do not have any respect for parents, but parents are also very comfortable with their children. If the monk but secular habits, like to make many friends, then later there will be many "plays" for them to perform again!
In life, most children depend on their parents, so they do not know how great the heavens and the earth are. When renunciation, the surroundings are full of brother and sister; Those who take care of fulfilling their duties, but we also have to take care of the assigned work. Therefore, everyone is independent.
It is worthwhile to be a human being to become a monk. Because if we don't, we just stay in the society, get married, have children, and die, still can't let go, and won't be able to go peacefully!
People make misery happy; When I get old, I am afraid of death, I will not let go of my children.
Although we ordained us, we will practice the Noble Truth of Suffering, but if we both work and recite the Buddha's name, we will be able to meet everything in the six paths of reincarnation for a long time. Then, I will be happy that I have been fortunate to be ordained.
Recite the Buddha's name, enough, enough, wisdom will arise, and will be enlightened; When I get old, I will not be afraid to die because I have a Bliss-Bliss World in the West to come.
Your karma is piled up like a high mountain; If you do not leave home, you will have any feelings about it. Those who lack knowledge in real life always go on the path of creating karma. The monk then goes the way to end his career, straight to the World-Bliss-Bliss.
Ancient people taught: "One inch of Dao, nine tac of ma" (ie Dao is less but more than ghost or karma). Therefore, the more a practitioner moves forward, the more many kinds of evil thoughts, bad habits, from many previous generations will emerge. At that time, the more you have to suffer more and more to slowly dissolve the karma. When you pass, the golden lotus will appear to take you to the West.
How can people understand, so they keep pursuing sharpness, bar, flavor, taste, touch, and dhamma day by day. When the death came, the Demon of La-murder appeared to arrest them, so they could not go nor could they!
Now that I don't become a monk, when I am old I am like my parents: full of disturbing emotions, then falling into samsara. Therefore, ordination is a must! You should not be attached, not learn from the example of those who came before!
Chapter VIII: The Realm of Our Birth
Hope has no boss. Buddha (the new one) owns (mind).
How to cultivate when you get old the more you practice, the more you don't mind. Whenever you want to die, just close your eyes like sleep and go right away. We sleep like a corpse every night, we don't know what's going on around us. When you wake up in the morning, open your eyes immediately begin the process of attachment; look at this is 'mine', see that one is 'mine' ...
You cannot see invisible, formless things; hence there is no excitement, dislike them. Therefore, you only want to pursue things that look good.
When your parents give birth, you don't know anything. When you grow up a little, you 'sticky dust', clinging to the concept of instant self. Whenever you attach to the concept of self, there will be disturbing emotions immediately. Nevertheless,
'In the past not a thing,
How to stick bare dust? '
The people of heaven see us as black maggots, the maggots in the toilet. The Buddha Amitabha gave 48 great aspirations to bring him to the Great-Bliss World; but I keep sticking to the realms of Ta-Ba, giving misery is fun, just like some maggots (for unclean toilet is full of interesting places)!
I found the toilet stinking so I couldn't stand it, so I wanted to pick up the maggots and drop them into the clear water. But those maggots are more attached to the polluted toilet than anything else, and rather die than go anywhere!
People learn to do bad things very easily; learning to do good is very difficult!
The four kinds of beings, when they eat it full, then sleep, the mind is always scattered.
Straightforward people easily open up wisdom.
Each person's personality is very important.
With good temperament, gentle, you can get along with everyone wherever you go, depending on others. But arbitrary also has a limit; Because for those who do bad things, we can not do it arbitrarily, but must steadfastly stand, act principles.
Man himself is not evil; only habit, qi practice is bad. Everyone has a bad habit, only a few people are different. As long as you focus on cultivating the Path is enough. Whoever you can forgive, forgive immediately. Never let people be evil.
Mr. A has a habit of smoking, everywhere he goes he fumes smoke. Mr. B has a habit of doubting, always suspecting this and that. Once A smoked in front of B. B was angry, suspected that Brother A was contemptuous of himself; So the two ways are born of quarrel, conflict. Fortunately, Mr. C knew the habits of the two of them, so he went to reconcile; prompting the two sides to revise and quit smoking habit, quit suspicion.
Therefore, the bad habits that we do not know by ourselves to correct, only cause trouble for others. Cynical mind only harms me, obstacles to cultivation. When you see anyone in conflict, conflict, then you do not pour oil into the fire to make things more trouble; but always find a way to reconcile!
Someone criticizes, criticizes, or speaks ill of others. In fact, he did not understand that his actions were wrong, but he also did not intentionally criticize, say or say. It was just because of the bad habit that he had trained from countless eons ago, making him involuntarily do so.
There was a person before, when he talked to someone he always glanced sideways, acting mysterious; makes others look like he is defaming someone. In fact, it must be! That is just a bad habit only.
Therefore, whatever you do, you must be free and natural; otherwise, you might bring all sorts of useless troubles into yourself!
In the past in Mainland (China), the more people who try hard to practice, the more radical they have, the more will be tested. Someone deliberately uses all kinds of unreasonable attitudes to oppress and provoke him. Or someone who saw him almost complete a certain work then vandalized to collapse collapsed. However, it must be seen how the person's abilities are, before they can be tested. If he challenges someone who has no basis, righteousness, he will generate defilements.
In Taiwan it is difficult to challenge anyone. Because most of the nuns are from the cozy roof of their parents, bawdy habits; so for them, only the whole world method is required.
In the past, there was a Master who wanted to try and see the diligence of discipleship. He told the disciple to bring back sandals.
Those who have abilities, wisdom, immediately kneel down; then the compassionate Master teaches. The foolish person really wears sandals in reverse. And those who have no faculties will immediately get upset, creating afflictions; think that Master-is wrong, intentionally making him upset.
When the capable person hears you talking about him (criticizing, criticizing, scolding), he knows that it is what Master-y is teaching; Therefore, he knows the request of repentance.
When the person lacked the ability to hear you talking about y, he immediately quarreled, asking why you dare to talk to him; and then y born angry, afflictive. He will think of his parents' cozy roof, which is to eat well, to dress well, to go to school ..., the old morals that make him pervert forever in samsara.
Whenever we come to enlightenment and comprehend anything, we are a person who has the basis. Those who have no basis, then what (against the will, left interest) to y, y is all suffering, frustration.
Those who do not have the root of power are afflicted in great numbers. Even if you explain it intentionally, he cannot understand.
Without the exception of defilements, mindfulness (correct contemplation of the truth or the Buddha's teachings) does not manifest money.
Only know how to eat and drink, but do not know how to practice, so eat a lot, it is difficult to spend (karma).
Why do people reincarnate? Because of the Lost Love (the seven emotions or mental states), the Five senses are too heavy.
When being fascinated by the Lost Love and the Five Sexes, all day long people only know how to pursue money, beauty, fame, power, eating, enjoying and sleeping. Here also defilements are born, and from there create all kinds of karma.
Don't assume that there is no reincarnation. Have! Very miserable!
In the past, Han Son and Thap Dac (incarnations of Bo-slap Van Thu and Pho Hien) saw people getting married, clapped their hands and laughed, saying: 'You see the bridegroom marrying his grandmother. is not? Look, they eat you, their aunt! '
The others heard that and scolded them, saying, 'The Venerable Master is crazy! Bad talk!'
But when Mr. Han Son called the name of a pig, the pig ran to him immediately: confirmed that there is reincarnation already!
Those who like to be beautiful, wear high heels, later (the retribution of that qi) will naturally be reincarnated as a horse, no need to wear shoes!
A person keeps eating well, his mind goes down and he wants to sleep. Whenever you sleep too much, the latter (retribution) will make you a snake's body.
Although the buffalo works so hard, it does not know how to escape suffering. Making a buffalo body is the karma of a previous life as a mandarin (public servant, government employee), not pure, incorruptible (bribery), so this life must pay the debt.
There was an official, and then brought the money (earned from doing unrighteous work) to flee abroad. Finally he must pay retribution, reincarnated as a buffalo in Taiwan.
'A life as an officer,
Nine lives as a buffalo to pay off debt '.
The buffalo has two horns, but the tiger must also abstain from fear. Gradually one day the buffalo will also understand. Like a buffalo plowing the field now, it is also helping me.
When someone does something good, you agree and agree with him. But when you do not do well and you are also inaugurated, then your sin will multiply.
Must know how to cherish white paper (can write letters). Whenever a piece of paper is written in a classic script, do not throw it in the trash; should burn it. This is also a virtue.
Keep the words written on paper or on shirts; Even if you have a small word, you must keep it. The embroidery on the shirt should be cut out and burned, do not throw it in the trash. Knowing how to value words like that (retribution) can read words. That is such a virtue!
Once upon a time, the ancient people taught Chinese respect, hospitality, ceremony, meaning, integrity and wholesale; thus producing a lot of saints. Today, no one teaches these virtues, so times are in turmoil. Therefore, for those scriptures and treatises on ancient morality, we must appreciate them.
Good things that you do not know how to use properly, properly (do not know how to preserve, maintain), and cause it to fail; then it is your fault. You have to suffer the consequences or retribution.
When handling, deciding to perform, or carrying out any task, you have to be very careful, because everything is causal. For example, the remaining edible foods that you throw away or let it rot, you must bear the retribution of doing so. Cause and effect are not wrong at all, and no one will be able to take your karmic retribution:
The birth and death of a man will take care of him; Rice, whoever eats it is full!
If you have good things, don't spoil it. (Don't deliberately spoil; don't neglect, be careless, lack of sense of responsibility; or refuse to learn the right way to use or maintain it; don't neglect, scare, disrespect, don't value arbitration.)
Buddha, Bodhisattva, Arhat, Heaven, Person, A-Tu-La, Hell, Ngoi Dem, Animal Beast, are all human. Anyone who practices properly is born on a good path; tu scandal, breaking the Five Precepts, then fell astray evil road.
It is difficult to be a human body; It is difficult to hear the Buddha Dharma. Now being human, must try to practice properly.
Though those who are in Heaven enjoy merit, whenever they start a bad idea, they will perish. For us, if we have sinned, we just need to sincerely repent and we will be as pure as an innocent person. The human realm is the best spiritual realm: to listen to the Dharma, to know how to cultivate.
When a bad thought arises, if you have not said it yet and did not follow it, you can confess in your heart, determined not to commit it again.
Question: It is difficult to keep the will of karma pure, because bad habits have been injected, accumulated from a first life, now encounter bad conditions, so naturally arises. When that bad thought arises, I immediately repent, will I suffer bad retribution?
A: The evil concept only thinks in the mind. If we repent immediately, there is no negative retribution. If the bad concept has already appeared in the mouth (speech karma), or we have already practiced it (the body karma), then we will suffer retribution. Every second we have to repent; If you have a mind of repentance, then good ideas can arise.
Tell the cultivators to see how their roots are and then speak.
For example, to someone who has an inborn quality, I would say: 'Having committed the sin, you can repent. Sin is created by the mind, so please sincerely confess. ' So then the other person is guilty, but he can repent and then return to purity: no more recidivism, mindfulness of the right path.
For those who have no basis, I say that is not good. Because teaching them that way, they think that just being guilty creates sin, and the mind of repentance is finished right away! So they forever cannot sincerely correct their mistakes, even if they repent forever!
The precepts do set exceptions, not rules. You must study carefully to avoid misunderstandings.
If you accidentally made a mistake, you can repent. Deliberately committing a mistake, it is impossible to repent. Confess something no more than three times (that is, do not commit more than three times).
For the will-karma, I am not afraid of reciting evil that arises: just afraid that I awaken, realize it slowly. Therefore, whenever evil thoughts have arisen, they must immediately repent.
Once I make a mistake, I must always admit: 'I made a mistake'; that 'I ask for repentance'; that 'Please teach me.' Do not be defiant, then all self-form will end, and no evil thoughts will arise.
The more a person practices, the more it always feels like he needs to repent.
If you know how to practice, pray to the Buddha a lot, pray for repentance, cultivate goodness, then maybe when Maitreya is born, you can be his disciple!
Big fish eat small fish. Humans are like big fish: eat everything, even the tiger's flesh; Therefore, the karma is deep. If I do not sincerely repent, pray to the Buddha for a lot, then by the time Maitreya was born in this realm (meaning it has been a long time), I do not have any good root.
The teachers of today and the old days are very different.
In the Han dynasty, teachers respect morality, ceremony, meaning, integrity and integrity. These days, the teacher himself is not finished (not enough virtue). Buddhism today is also far behind the old days.
In the past, everyone respected ceremony, meaning, integrity, and integrity; that is why a saint appeared.
Nowadays, no one has these things worthwhile, so the society is more and more chaotic. Therefore we must have a respectful attitude towards the scriptures.
In the old days, there was an artist who could draw a realistic sun image, to the point that one could expose rice to a picture! Someone drew the bird so vividly that it could actually fly! The reason they can do that is due to cultivation.
Who today can draw a real flying bird? Everyone depends on mechanical engineering or chemical processing!
Currently, Buddhism in the whole world is roughly propagating the Dharma, propagating. However, although Buddhism is so popular, it is very difficult to find a true spiritual practitioner. Some also come to the Dao soon, good dwellers are quite good; However, the monastic is still few.
In the past, at the mainland temple (China), ordination was not easy. As soon as you become a monk, you have to do manual labor in the temple for a while (hard work such as plowing, hoeing ...), and then being allowed to do light works in the temple.
In Taiwan (China), ordination is very popular, very normal; and mostly based on education that consider the ordination.
In the ancient mainland, renunciation is to get rid of samsara: therefore, practice hard, learn the austerities of Buddha, Bodhisattva to cultivate yourself. In Mainland, the monastic is subjected to hard labor (asceticism) for three years; if you have to suffer, you can be free!
This person and the ancients are far from different: ancient people, Dao-mind has ten parts; For people today, Dao-mind is only part.
People in the house or ordained in life are happy, very good activities. When life is too happy, there will be many accidents. Attachment to identity, sound, flavor, taste, contact, and dharma will also be greater.
Eat protein rice, wear raw clothes: practice is here to use. But now, everyone is researching to eat well and dress well. The whole day was busy because of that. I wish to dissipate karma, now turn into consumption and loss of blessings; then the bad karma will follow.
In the past, rice, soup, vegetables, it was simple - just put everything in the boil to finish (called La-drought). Now, everyone is attentive, so picky about eating that the monastic is even better than a layperson!
In the past, in Mainland China, the monks at the pagoda wore burlap clothes (the cloth for funerals) dyed gray; eat liquid porridge like water (so dishes do not need to be washed carefully), plus a little more simple food; Not like you now can eat white rice, there are enough dishes, many such dishes.
Temples in ancient China, whoever left things indiscriminately, the pagoda would gather and confiscate it, regardless of who it was. If you want to find items you have lost, you must go ask the Manager.
At a temple in China in the past, when someone made a mistake, Manager-Manager did not need to lash out, but just wrote his name on the report board; If he read, he immediately left the temple.
Nowadays, the Manager-Manager comes to say your mistake (to invite you to wrap it up), you (not only don't listen) even quarreled with him; it is too far wrong!
Be self-afflicted, you have to open yourself. Bring Master's instruction into practice.
Master-declares so much, now see how your life is maintained.
Those who know how to hear, will be useful. Guys who don't know how to listen and tell are useless.
Listening to the opening, not commenting is listening more or hearing a little, but see whether to listen to or not to (mind). Listen to the mind, then must apply.
You heard Master-Master's instruction very well. But good is the good Master (not a good friend). It still needs you to put into practice.
You bow me to be the Teacher; I teach you Dharma. When I am no longer in life, you must follow this Fa and practice, then your Path-mind will be solid, the path of renunciation is complete.
When you learn the Dharma, when you hear Master-Master give instructions to a sentence, how to enlighten and comprehend that sentence by yourself. It doesn't take much. When the words are high, you are still being turned.
Question: After Master passed away, what should we do if we remember Master?
One teacher (Master Truyen Van) said: 'It is the Buddha-nature of Master who speaks the Dharma, giving us instructions; it is not His falsified body. If we remember Him, let us develop a strong mind, practice diligently! '
My words are directed at you. Don't think that I say bad things about yourself or someone else, and then give birth to sorrow and frustration.
If you are at fault, admit it, repent, reflect, change your personality, your behavior.
It is easy to be attached to the attachment to create disturbing emotions You have afflictions, then affect, make others also upset, and the masses are all rebelled. Then how does 'mass rationalization' make people in tune? I have to fix myself, go ahead, then later rule the country and fix people.
Someone with a straightforward personality, although words are not easy to hear, not very easy to hear, but you do not think of evil words. Someone speaks very well, but his mind is not good at all. Therefore, you must pay attention, must understand throughout the psychology of mistress.
Many times, the outspoken person does not mean anything bad, but the listener is crooked, confused, distorted; even thought he was thinking complicatedly!
Do not listen indiscriminately. Do not listen to this side to listen to the other and then do not know who is right or wrong. When your mind is not self-controlled, it is easy to agree with confusion, stir up delusions, and generate defilements.
Listening must also know how: need to listen to the Dharma, not listen to mundane stories.
Listening to the Dharma is liberated, there is no self, no 'I'. Listening to mundane things means that there is an impersonal story, giving birth to the form of self (having 'I', having 'brother'; having 'right', having 'wrong'). That is a bad seed, which is difficult to eradicate later on.
True words, you should hear. The untruthful word that you hear about can sow negative effects on others, and may bear retribution on your own.
For those who know how to hear, only one or two words he immediately understood; No need to be cumbersome.
In the past, some teachers taught the sutras, they all reserved a part for listeners to learn and celebrate for themselves. They do not explain everything, nor tell long stories.
Those who have the right, what you say is immediately heard. Someone who has no muscle, when listening to you, he chatters, fluttering incessantly.
You must enlighten yourself to your own faculties. Listening (opening instruction) is just the realm of Luc Tran only.
Question: Every day keep mantra, prostrate Buddha, and cultivate more Dharma-Hoa Tam-Muoi, but why is the mind still wandering and messing about?
A: If we are not self-controlled, it is not done. Dedicated to reciting Buddha's name, observing Precepts, and bowing to the Buddha is enough!
The more work and the situation, the more you are attached to, the more unstable your mind is. Don't be attached to the goodness of others. Those who have basic abilities, when looking at the bad things of the people, he knows how to apply (avoid making the same mistakes) to improve his cultivation. Those who are incapable only generate more defilements.
Want to concentrate, very difficult. Therefore, you must find the mind of undying being, do not seek things to kill outside. Need to find the old self-nature available. Everything that can be heard, seen, outside, has nothing to do with you (true nature).
The appearance of the Bhikkhu-Khưu is the appearance of Buddha. Whenever you see the Bhikkhu-Khưu coming, you should immediately welcome your hands and bow. There is no need to make a distinction, judging whether one teacher is spiritual, the other is not.
Knowing chanting, typing khanh, ringing the bell is very natural; No need to study. When wisdom opens, naturally you know how to do it.
In the Three Teachings (Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddha), Confucianism teaches morality, ceremony, meaning, loyalty and filial piety. Although Taoism also teaches the Tao, but does not teach the Buddha-truth (the end of the truth), so no liberation. Finally, only inductive to the Buddha-subject of Pure Land (of Buddhism), pray to rebirth, will be able to escape birth and death.
Buddhism and Taoism (Taoism) are very different. Practicing Buddhism is for the sake of life and death. Taoism is to live forever. However, even if living up to a hundred thousand years, it still does not have to be the end, because it cannot escape samsara
In Taoism, there are also many people who practice very diligently, who can prove themselves La-Han (such as La-Dong-Tan, Han-Chung-Ly); However, their Arhat is not the end. The La-Han in Buddhism has been able to pass two kinds of view-or-private-or (View and Tu or are two delusions of vision and of mind that prevent us from seeing the Buddha-nature. This delusion is very profound because it is formed and nurtured from many lives and many lives because of the mistakenly defiled habit and seed that there is really the 'I' and all things), transcending samsara. On the Dao-Dao side, many of the people who are La-Han also do not have to die, sometimes they live in the mountains for hundreds of years.
We essentially need to cultivate to liberate samsara. Therefore, I need to release my body, do not be afraid that this body is miserable. Remember, to practice Buddhism is to practice so that the three karma (body, speech, mind - action, speech, and thought) are purified, the six sense faculties are pure, free from the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, and death. .
Don't be attached to good or bad. Do not fall into extremes (two: happy-sad, good-bad, right-wrong ...), If you are attached to bad things, you will forever be stuck there, unable to progress. For example, if you made a mistake, you feel very miserable and regret in your mind; and then kept sorrowful, unable to open up my heart. If you keep embracing the past forever, you cannot safely cultivate the Dao.
Everything is illusory (like images, scenes appear in soap bubbles), are not real. The work is over then stop. Just cling tightly, embracing forever, only disturbing.
Prayer is played in the heart: not to say. The heart needs energy, according to aspiration to do
When the scene is good or bad, don't react to the surface: knowing is enough.
Master taught that He was like a bridge. He went ahead, erected a bridge for himself to cross. He did not dare to claim that He taught anyone. He said that He only told me about his experiences in the process of spiritual practice, so that I could study and learn!
