Arhat, though adversity does not arise, the concept of discontent.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.

Arhat Luo Toni, or La Ho La Ton Gia, Tram Tu La Han, the son of Prince Siddhartha, became one of the 10 great disciples, called the First Secret, residing in Duong. Cu Chau, Buddhist virtue in the first place.

The first novice

It is the virtue of patience that is safe, and can eliminate accidents.

He is the eleventh Arhat of the eighteen Arhat. Currently, he is with one thousand one hundred disciples residing at Tat Loi Duong Cu Chau. In the "Ten Great Buddhas", he is acclaimed as the First Secret Virtue. Three words "La Hau La" Han translated as Phu Chuong, meaning "obstacle". Legend has it that, when he was not born, he was in the womb of King Da Du Da La for six years.

Usually, the longest child in the womb is only ten months, yet he stays for six years, which is strange! The reason is that, because of his past life as a naive child, once playfully covered a mouse cave with rocks and mud, making the rats in the cave spend six days eating nothing. both.

Therefore, in this life he had karmic retribution in his mother's womb for six years. When he was nine years old, the Buddha sent Venerable Muc Kien Lien, the first great disciple, to the palace leading him to live by his side. Then told Religion to fake Xa Loi Phieu level for him to leave home. So, in Buddhist history, he was the first little novice.

When he was a novice, he thought he was the crown prince of a country at first, so at first, he did not get rid of the bad habits of the aristocratic period, was stubborn, or caused trouble, or deceived people, refusing to use the spirit. tons of decent practice.

At that time, La Hau La was in On Tuyen forest outside Vuong Xa citadel. Many dignitaries, elders and lay people came to ask where the Buddha was. He often finds ways to make fun of people. If the Buddha was staying at Truc Lam monastery, Luo Maa said he was in Ky Xa Quat mountain. The Buddha was at the Exalted Quat, he deceived that the Buddha was in Truc Lam. The two places were about two miles apart, causing people to go back and forth tired, but in the end they could not meet the Buddha.

When they returned in disappointment, La Hau La laughed at those people. La Hau La deceived everyone once, twice, people still made mistakes, but after a few times everyone knew and the rumor of Luo Ma La lied and teased people to Buddha's ears.

One day, the Buddha called him to come and told him the story: In the past, there was a king who raised a mighty elephant to fight. Every fight with an enemy never won. The king loves elephants so much that his whole body is very thick iron armor, ears and feet are covered with iron, but not only the hose. Its hose is the most soft in the whole body, if not careful to get hit by an arrow or to be cut, it will die.

Therefore, in order to protect the life each time, the elephant pays special attention to the tap. Hey La Hau La, you should also imitate the elephant protecting the trunk, must be very careful in words and deeds. You see, in the previous life, the foolish little kid filled the rat's den, and had been stuck in the womb for six years without seeing any light.

If you are like that now, all day, you can only play around, mess around and do many bad things, do not put in effort to practice, are you not afraid that the consequences will be a long series of unhappiness?

Luo La listened to the Buddha's teachings on enlightenment. Since then, he worked hard to make use of his practice, daring to be lazy. La Ma La fully displayed the virtues of humility and patience, and did not like to argue over defeat, so his room was often occupied by others. Occasionally he had to go to the toilet to sleep the night. One day, because of his mission, he was beaten on the head by non-believers.

However, he still did not complain, silently went to the stream bank to wash away the dirty blood and used a towel to cover the wound. Once, there was a believer offered him a retreat as a place to practice meditation, teaching sermons. But soon that creditor reclaimed and brought offerings to others, he still calmly moved out of the room without anger.

That is enough to prove that his patience is truly Brahministic patience, that is, patience reaches perfection. The Buddha saw his patience, so he was very happy and taught more that: One who does not know patience, will not be able to receive the Buddha's teaching, is angry at life against the dharma, far from monks, often reincarnating in the evil path.

It is the virtue of patience that is safe, and can eliminate accidents. People of Wisdom see profound causes and effects, overcome anger, often practice patiently. The spirit of Buddha-dharma, the true meaning of Dharma, is not the same as the way of life. What the world thinks is noble, the Buddhist Dharma considers inferior, the Buddhist Dharma thinks is good, it is right, people will not follow.

Trung does not like flattering, evil does not like righteousness, evil does not like to go with good. People who are greedy hate the celibate. In such a situation, a practitioner has only patience. Forbearance is the best supportive pathway, which can make a practitioner quickly witness Holy results. Ring is like a boat on a river and sea, it can overcome all waves and winds, it is a medicine that heals and saves lives for people in danger.

Cultivating into the rightful awareness, transcending the three realms, is admired by the gods, because our mind is well enough, to know that patience is very precious. At the age of twenty, he attained Arhat. Although he had attained results, but living in them, he did not like to show off, but only quietly practiced, quietly preached the Dharma, so he was specially selected by the Buddha to be among the sixteen La Lans who stayed in the human world.

Several hundred years later, King Thiet Thuong Ca Nuoc Cau Thi Na La did not believe in the Buddha's teachings to the point of destroying temples, burning statues to destroy statues, the number of monastic disciples was decreasing. One day, there was an old monk holding a bowl to the city to go alms house. But no one paid attention to the whole city. It was very difficult for him to meet a family that believed in Buddhism. They respectfully offered him a bowl of hot porridge.

After finishing the porridge, he sighed. The host see this immediately asked: Sir! Is not porridge delicious? Oh no, it was very good when the Buddha Dharma had a bowl of porridge to eat. Not that, so why did he sigh? Well, I suddenly remembered the old times, when the Blessed One was still alive, I used to take the bowl with him here. At that time, every house believed in Buddha, people scrambled to make offerings, but now it is different, people who believe in Buddha are less and less, it is true that beings are blessed with thick karma!

The old Venerable Master could not stop the tears. The owner found it strange to ask: Venerable Master! Did you say that you saw the Buddha with your own eyes and once held the bowl with you? That's right! Who are you, please? Hey my lord, have you ever heard that La Hau La the son of Prince Tat Tath Da? Yes. I am La Hau La, the monk said. During the past several hundred years, I have always devoted myself to promoting the Dharma.

After saying that, the Venerable Master disappeared. This story was recorded by Mr. Huyen Trang in the famous work "Dai Duong Tay Vuc". That proves that La Hau La's stay in the world is not a bit of sophistry.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.16/8/2020.
