What is the three realms?VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.

The Three Realms (the three realms - Sanskrit: Triloka) talk about the realms of samsara. The commentaries often teach that all sentient beings have the ability to attain enlightenment ( Buddha-nature ), but because they are perceived by false attachments, they cannot detect and light themselves. that ability should keep hanging around in the three worlds.

Who is still in the three realms is still negativity. Only when attaining  enlightenment is  it freed from the three realms, that is, from the cycle of birth and death. The three realms include: Sex, Lust, and Virtue.

Sexuality (Kamadhatu)

"Sex" is desire. The Realm of Sex is the realm of food, material desire and physical desire. Beings in this realm because of the passion for following the "pleasures" of appearance, sound, aroma, eating, touching and lust, always cause many sins, calamities and suffering.

The sentient beings in this realm include: people, astral beings, hell,  hungry ghosts,  and animals. Among these 5 species, the Human race has the highest developmental mind, the realm of misery and happiness. Therefore, Bodhisattvas often choose to be born in the human world, where there are many favorable circumstances, to serve sentient beings and to practice the last disciplines necessary to attain Buddhahood.

Also included in this realm are 6 heavenly realms, though enjoying more blessings than humankind, they are still blessed and wisdom is not better than humankind. Beings in these 6 realms still have the form, but their material parts are very subtle, human eyes can not be seen.

They are biochemistry, also male-female form with full of lust as humans. The six heavenly realms of this realm (Lucifer's Heavenly Yard), from low to high ground include: Four Kings, Executioner (also known as the Thirty-Three Gods - Three Decades), Da Ma, Tue, Hoa Lac and Liberation is free.

Gender Identity (Rupadhatu)

"Form" is physical form. This is the realm of the Brahma, appearance, material as the body, the palace ... but very subtle, beautiful, magical. The gods here do not have male and female generals, no desire as in the realms of education, only living in  meditation . Depending on the high and low level of meditation, the Sac realm is divided into 4 levels, including the 18 heavens.

First realms of meditation

The First Jhana realm consists of three realms: It is the Brahmins (the retinue gods of the Brahminas), the Brahma (the gods close to the Brahminas), The Brahma (the Brahma gods are happy and beautiful) fine, the highest life in the First Jhana realm). The Brahmins in these realms have different bodies, but the way of thinking is the same, and of the eight consciousnesses there is no more consciousness and active consciousness.

The second realm of meditation

The Second Jhana realm consists of 3 realms: Light-emitting light (Brahma having a little light), Lightless light (Brahma having very light), Light-emitting light (Brahma having bright light) . This Second Jhana realm has lots of light. The Brahmins here all have the same body but the way of thinking is different, and of the eight consciousnesses from this Second Jhana or more, all five sense consciousness are no longer functioning.

The third world of meditation

The Third Jhana realm consists of 3 realms of Heaven: Minimum Pure (with small aura), Immeasurable Pure (with infinite aura), Pure Variable (with aura without disturbance). In this Zen realm everything is pure, both the body and mind of the Brahma are completely alike.

The four realms of meditation

The four realms of meditation include 9 realms: Vo Van (clear realm), Phuoc sinh (immortal realm), Quang fruit (enjoying the great merit), No disturbance (completely pure), Infinite heat (completely pure), Thien Kien (beautiful realm), Thien present (completely free of charge), Sac salvation (ultimate realm), Unrealistic (no longer thought).

This is the highest realm of Lust, which lives in the deep meditative realm of complete tranquility, not only in the sense of feeling but also in the consciousness.

Formless World (Arupadhatu)

This world has absolutely no material, physical, so there is no general male and female, no desire, but only a mere karma to dwell in the profound meditation realms. This is the highest of the three realms, including the 4 heavens.

Boundless space of space (Not boundless of heaven)

The realm of the heavens sees only infinite space, has been achieved and is staying in a state of meditation called infinite origin.

The infinite boundless mind realm

The world sees only the boundless mind, which is the realm of the gods who have attained and is staying in a state of meditation called the boundless form of consciousness.

The world without property (Without possessing the natural land)

This realm no longer has any phenomena, is the realm of the gods and has achieved and is staying in a state of meditation called no property of the land.

The world of the utopia of non-utopia (Non-perception of the utopia of heaven)

This realm has no perception nor is there no perception, the realm of the devas which has attained and is staying in a state of meditation called non-utopia non-territorial thought.

In the book "Buddha and the Dharma" (translated by Pham Kim Khanh), Venerable Narada Maha Thera said:

“It should be noted that the Buddha did not aim to spread a theory of the universe. Whether the above realms or not, it does not affect his teachings.

No one is forced to believe something, if it is not appropriate for his inference. But if we reject all that our limited reason cannot conceive, then that is not entirely plausible either. ” END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.17/7/2020.
