Monastic and spiritual mind.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
Many people are only concerned about the practice, paying attention to doing good deeds, or just knowing the temple does merit, not caring about studying the teachings to cultivate the mind.
We all understand that life is impermanent, now faded away, and so on, everything that exists forever, invariably, unchanged, so we definitely don't argue, no wonder However, just as well as not frustrating, seeing others change their minds, from good to bad, or vice versa, from bad to good.
The word "tu" is used to refer to the practice of all Buddhists, called Buddhists, whether they have taken refuge or not, at home or ordained. The word "tu", according to the commonly used worldview, is added with the words such as: repair, amendment, amendment, amendment, maintenance, spiritual practice, cultivation, remodeling, religious cultivation, religious virtue, cultivate the mind of nature, and mean "correct", such as: repair, modification, correction, correction, correction, preparation, generally "remodeling".
What is monastic life? Why minister?
We know that everyone born in this world has different appearances, the big and the small, the tall and lanky, and the short and fat. People with smart agile appearance, slow and slow, the rich appearance to the station, the poor ugly. This has nothing to say much. What we need to mention is the "general" of the human being in four movements: walking, standing, lying, sitting. In other words, these are the four postures of a practitioner in every everyday situation. One could hardly accept a monk dressed in a messy manner, speaking harshly, laughing loudly, dancing about, dancing with arms and legs, puffing up his eyes.
Tu tu means we try to preserve the appearance outside, prepare clothes for the solemn, proper. The laypeople often follow the rituals, culture, customs and habits of the society to preserve the appearance of the outside, so that the social relations in society are civilized, polite, nice, respectful, masonry sticky and respectful order. The renunciants must obey the precepts to preserve the majesty, create confidence and make a good impression on everyone around them. Therefore, it is very necessary for a monk to want to follow the Buddha, whether at home or renunciation.
Monk also means practicing visible things, through appearances, such as: going to a temple, worshiping Buddha, taking refuge, taking precepts, worshiping, chanting, reciting Buddha's name, sitting meditation, giving, making offerings, casting bells, creating statues, building pagodas, pressing books, generally creating means of merit, also called spiritual merit, that any Buddhist should do.
Apart from the general practice, a Buddhist practitioner needs to remember the next important thing, which is to cultivate the mind. Said enough is: cultivate mind nature. What is cultivating mind? Why mind cultivation?
We often complain, as well as hear others complain that "life is too hard!". Why so? The reason life is so miserable is because people often make themselves miserable and miserable others. Man misery himself and misery others, by the mind: greed, anger and delusion.
Because of the greedy mind, people often want to have big houses and lots, money to go to the sea, money like water, money to drop, fame to fame, so don't give up any opportunity to achieve things. That dream, despite the right, despite the tricks, despite causing suffering to others, through actions, words, or thoughts of self-harm, slander, false accusations.
Because of anger, people often hold on to unpleasant things, always remember what others are displeasing, hard to forget the feuds to bring to death, do not ignore the words that do not please themselves though inadvertently or intentionally, inscribing things that others hurt more or less their honor, narcissism or property.
Because of the delusion, people often create so many bad karma, resentment, wrongdoing without knowing it, trust many superstitious things, persist in obsolete and unjust customs and habits, unreasonable, excessive, selfish, obeying the precepts, commandments, unreasonable, inhuman and cruel laws.
Therefore, in order to live a peaceful, peaceful and happy life, not to suffer ourselves and not to suffer people, we must know how to cultivate the mind, or cultivate the mind. Want to gradually eradicate greedy mind, we should uphold the precepts, practice almsgiving, practice thrifty living, contentment. Knowing how is enough, our life will reduce much of the suffering caused by the greedy mind.
Want to gradually eradicate anger, we should practice meditation, compassion, loving people like you. Sympathizing with others, our life will reduce much suffering caused by anger and anger. Want to gradually eradicate delusion, we should practice wisdom, happy behavior, to identify where is the cause and effect, do not regret the past, where is the Chief Justice. Knowing to ignore unnecessary things, our life will reduce much suffering caused by ignorance.
That is the good result of the true Dharma practice. Therefore, cultivating mind is also synonymous with wisdom, or wisdom.
In the Cross of Goodwill, the Buddha taught: The
mind of solemnity, for sentient beings, does not initiate brain damage.
Serious compassionate mind, loving all beings, often not bored out.
Hy solemnly happy, seeing people cultivate, the mind doesn't hate.
Serious discharge mind, opposite scenes, the mind does not love anger.
Chu Chu taught: Inner thoughts should be engraved. Foreign affairs warfare any merits.
Meaning: Inside diligently rectifying the disorderly thoughts, that practice is called cultivation. Outside is always determined not to argue, practicing the virtue of cultivators, which is the part of the monk of the true practitioner.
In order to make mind cultivation easier, we need to know the following verses to apply in real life daily:
Eyes are already sharp.
If the ear hears then it does not.
Inert quietly.
Gently we stepped away from the cycle of depression.
Everyone dies tomorrow.
No controversy today.
Everything is forever.
Keep the mind pure.
Recite Buddha's name or meditate.
Remember the words of the Founder.
Definitely not controversial.
Keep the mind pure.
Please learn the virtue of the land.
Get bear of the world.
Fragrant and foul.
Turn into a fresh flower.
People give names of bullets.
Criticism and defamation.
The mind cultivates nature.
Turn into a fresh flower.
Is it too school?
Agarwood photos.
Swallow the relics.
Cards saved countless pictures interested.
In our daily lives, in order to keep our mind pure and tranquil, our eyes will see sharpness, not retain any image, whether we love or hate, if the ear hears then we don't, no Record any sound, soft or jarring. We should learn the virtues of the earth, whether receiving the praise or praise of the world, those who cultivate their minds turn into fresh flowers, which adorn the daily life of spiritual practice. more sophisticated.
Like the tern in the air, silhouetted in the cold water when flying across the river, but when the swallow disappears, the silhouette in the water is no longer. Why so? Because the tern has no intention of preserving the trail, the cold water does not have the heart to keep the bird's image.
Austerities are like that, our hearts will despise, light, disengaged, scenes of samsara samsara will soon overcome, realms of pure nirvana soon be attained.
We all understand that life is impermanent, now faded away, and so on, everything that exists forever, invariably, unchanged, so we definitely don't argue, no wonder However, just as well as not frustrating, seeing others change their minds, from good to bad, or vice versa, from bad to good.
However, there are also negative cases where only the practitioner does not know how to cultivate, or vice versa, only knows how to cultivate the mind.
The person who only cares about the practice, doesn't pay attention to the cultivation of the mind, doesn't know how to study the Dharma, accepts the form of rituals, prostrates to the Buddha with the mind of prayers, likes to be revered, pays attention to walking excessively, to look like a robot, or someone who has just recovered, or put a lot of emphasis on material things, which is about the general aspect, not being able to observe and transform the mind, not knowing what method to apply. use.
There are also many people who are only concerned about the practice, pay attention to doing good deeds, or just know the temple doing merit to earn merit, not caring about studying the teachings to cultivate the mind. Therefore, the only person who is concerned about the ordination is the person who has only entered the temple door, has not yet entered the temple door, the appearance of the body seems to change differently, but inside the mind is still afflicted before, now plus more new afflictions of the monk: often clinging to personal prejudices, controversy over the market, disturbance disturbance.
Here we do not mention the terrible cases of false generals to deceive people, fight for fame and fortune, seek benefits, and take advantage of worldly beliefs.
The West has a saying: "The robes do not create a monk" (L'habit ne fait pas le moine). The ancients also have the saying: "The tri tri tri tri tri heart", that is: know people, only know the face, see the outside appearance, do not know the inner heart.
In fact, in the scriptures, there is a saying: "Reasoning for merit", that is, people need to have firm theories, clear doctrine, and at the same time pay attention to the practice, that is, the general and the mind time, or blessing of the Buddhist song. In this way, the practitioner will surely enter the door, peaceful in the sea of the Buddhas, free from sorrow and suffering.
In short, it is difficult for us to discern how human nature varies from appearance. Therefore, in the matter of cultivating the mind, whoever cultivates to the place, he or she knows it himself, or the higher cultivator will know. The book has the saying: "Everyone who eats and fills them all witnesses" is the meaning of that. Simply commenting: the practitioner who feels more and more peaceful, the more his afflictions are reduced, the more he is cultivating in the right way, making progress. As someone who practices more and more defiles, he should reconsider his spiritual practice.
The Patriarchs often recommend "antagonistic autism," which means that we should take care of the practice and cultivate our own mind, re-light our own mind, that is to cultivate ourselves, not to how to observe other people around the practice, to keep our mind from disturbing because of the criticism, right and wrong, to harass.
The book has a saying:
"Organic heart is formless, parts of mind are born
."
Means: There are people who do not have a good appearance, are not good, but develop compassion and joy, practice gradually, one day the appearance will be more solemn, more gentle face, body the speech is purer, everyone who sees it produces more sympathy and affection.
On the other hand, there are people who, despite their appearance, are luxurious and beautiful, but the mind is greedy, angry, foolish, evil, treacherous, long time ago the former beauty disappeared, no more, deep strokes exposing the danger on the face, people can see it easily.
In the Sutta Sutta, the Buddha taught:
"The first cup is the most important thing."
Meaning: On the path of meticulous practice, if there is no obstinate, the mind is clinging, knowing to leave all appearances, including the attachment to the disciplines and sects, we will be enlightened to be the Prime Minister, that is the pure mind that all beings are the same, no different. In other words, without clinging to the general, we will achieve the perfect cultivation of mind.
People who are only concerned about cultivating the mind, do not pay attention to the practice, don't know how to study rituals, do not practice prostrations, do not need to go to the temple, just focus on studying the classics, favoring the theory, do not know practical application, often thinking that cultivating the mind is important, just cultivating the mind is enough, whatever the appearance is, dress, walk, speak in any way. The magic of the Buddha is that: actively helping people transform suffering and suffering into peaceful bliss, transforming infectious mind into pure mind, transforming ordinary mortal beings into supreme level of mindfulness, is a Buddha. All are created by our own mind. END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.4/7/2020.
