When identity is no longer "mine", there is no end to suffering and despair. The idea is so simple, but has anyone ever been aware - don't let the mind become attached to that meaningless color?VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
Vakkali was a Brahmin young man from Xa Ve. His childhood and adolescence passed peacefully in the love of his parents and his peers. Until one day, the young man's mind was suddenly disturbed by a silhouette of the golden robes. The majestic posture, extraordinary disposition and unrivaled generals of the monk made the young man extremely amazed. Vakkali stood there blankly admiring the monk and suddenly saw in his heart a boundless respect for him. He thought:
- Strange monsters, unexpectedly in this world, there are so beautiful and strange people. Oh! I wish I could stay close to you to look at it ...

Any joy must be over. The identity of Tathagata, even non-divine, is subject to old age, sickness, and death! Any dharma in this life that has to exist must have ceased.
Vakkali inquired and learned that the Sa Mon was once a false King, renounced his throne and became enlightened. People often call him Sa Mon Co Dam, and his disciples respectfully call Him The Blessed One. Vakkali immediately asked to become a monk, leading a monk's life. Because the purpose of his renunciation does not take anything so far, so daily outside the bowl time necessary; Vakkali monks always find a convenient seat to admire the content of the Guru for pleasure. He did not care much about learning the sitting meditation, or the duty of a basic novice. The Guru knew Vakkali's mind well but he still waited silently - as if waiting for the full moon to arrive. And that day has come ...
One day the Master returned to tell Vakkali, when he was looking at Him passionately:
-This Vakkali where nothing interesting when looking at an impure entity called our body? Only when Vakkali hears the Tathagata's teachings and sees the arising and falling away, will it be called seeing the Tathagata!
But regardless of the Buddha's advice, Vakkali kept his mind and his attitude unable to take his eyes off the Guru. In the end, the Guru had to leave Xa San, and forbade Vakkali to follow.

The mind always follows, clinging to Lust. Chiang Sac is real. Being sustainable is "mine".
Three weeks after the moon passed, Vakkali could not see the silhouette and hear the dharma sound of the Guru, infinite sorrow. He thought to himself: “I have abandoned my family and changed the high-robed mantle of a famous young prince to enter a life of hardship, with the sole purpose of being close and contemplating the Tao. Professor. Yet he hated himself, while he was very merciful and gentle towards all sentient beings to the worm, the ant ... ”.
One day, too sorrowful - Vakkali came up with suicidal intent. He climbed up a high mountain to let himself down to the abyss to spare his life. Knowing the wild intent of the young disciple, the Guru manifested close to Vakkali and called:
Hey Vakkali, come here with the Tathagata!
Vakkali shouted in joy:
- Is that true? It is true that the Blessed One called me, He did not chase me anymore?
And in the shade of a tree in the side of the rock, the Guru preserved:
- Hey Vakkali! Why do you intend to suicidal?
-World Religion, because I feel too depressed, too depressed! I have not found any joy in this meager mendicant life. In addition to admiring the extraordinary appearance of the Blessed One!
- Hey Vakkali! Any joy must be over. The identity of Tathagata, even non-divine, is subject to old age, sickness, and death! Any dharma in this life that has to exist must have ceased. That is a law of course. If we know that, should we put all our hope in clinging to those eradicating phenomena to pursue an eternal happiness that won't fade?

When identity is no longer "mine", there is no end to suffering and despair.
Vakkali silently bowed his head, the Guru further explained to him the fleeting and transient nature of his so-called entities. After the Dharma, Vakkali was moved:
- White World Religion, I understand! I have long followed the ephemeral figures projected by my mind, taking that as my only joy. When that joy was hindered, I came out with sorrow and sorrow. I was so deluded and didn't know that anything that had to exist had to kill. The Tathagata body, though beautiful and unmatched, is not available before, so it will return to nothing. My joy is just a temporary feeling, if not raised, it must also die! I understand, and I also promise the Blessed One, that from now on Vakkali will only practice the teachings of the Tathagata, instead of contemplating His content as before.
- Very good! Hey Bhikkhus! If your heart is full of joy, full of faith in Tathagata's teachings, you will soon attain ultimate happiness!
And then, Vakkali said goodbye to the monk who meditated on the top of the mountain that he was about to take up. True to the Guru's prediction, Vakkali soon attained Arhat. Since then, World Religion ranks Vakkali among the most sincere disciples.
Dear friend!
The Vakkali guy in Xa Ve embodies countless Vakkali on this earth: The mind always follows and clings to the Sac. Chiang Sac is real. Being sustainable is "mine". Therefore, when rupa is no longer "mine", there is no end to suffering and despair.
