Then, He renounced worldly sensual pleasures, crossed the city alone into austerities of monastic life. Lady Kiều Đàm Di heard the news of the monk's sadness and remorse with the worry and concern of the mother when she saw that her son, gold and jade, now had to live a miserable and miserable life in the middle of the mountains and forests. deserted solitude. Thinking like that, her heart ached.

500 women asked for renunciation of Buddha

In the first time the Buddha returned to the Bhikkhu La Ve - his former homeland - to preach, the religious kings in the lineage such as Prince Bat-title, An-na-law, Nan-da were all Buddha the chemical level for renunciations, and also La Huu La - the son of the Crown Prince of the former days - was ordained as a Buddhist monk.

Lady Kieu Dam Di saw that image, and she started to develop the base so she came to The Sun to pray for her to join them in joining the Sangha.

At that time in the Buddhist Sangha there were no monks or nuns. Regarding the request of Lady Kieu Dam Di, the Blessed One did not agree. He told her to live only the laity at home to study the Buddha Dharma, to take refuge in the Triple Gem, to uphold the five precepts, if the determination to cultivate can also be of great benefit in this life and the next.

But Lady Kiều Đàm Di was not satisfied with that, so every time the Blessed One returned to the lecture, she patiently begged her to be ordained.

One day, she personally sewed two robes to bring to the Ni-sentence-law garden where the Buddha was to make offerings. The Blessed One said:

- Two plates that the wife offered, Tathagata happily received one plate, the other wife should make offerings to them.

Received by the Buddha, she was very happy, and took this opportunity to immediately join hands with Buddha:

- Dear Blessed One! Please have mercy on women we also follow the renunciation, ordained.

Buddha said:

- Lady don't say that! The nun at home is also very good already. Now we have carefully considered, if for female renunciation, to join the Sangha of the Tathagata will probably cause many negative effects on the Sangha later.

Three times the prayers were rejected by the Buddha, but Lady Kieu Dam Di still patiently waited. With earnest sincerity and desire to become a monk and also to show his sincerity, after the Buddha led the Sangha from Bhikkhu-ly to Na-ni-ni-ni, she immediately joined five hundred people. female ascetic vow to ascetic, barefoot to the seminal fine Na-ni-ni to once again begged Buddha for renunciation. The legs of the fortresses are bleeding because the road is full of thorns and stones, but they are still determined to go to the place to beg the Buddha for permission to be ordained.

At this time, Venerable Ananda saw the mother-in-law and five hundred women took the ascetic barefoot bloody as a monk, causing him to be unbelievable, so he also said to help. He earnestly came to pray to Buddha again, mentioning the gratitude of Kieu Dam Di who had been raising and caring for the Blessed One since he was at the palace, lovingly worried like a mother who loved her child and so on.

Finally, due to the perseverance and sincerity of Ms. Kieu Dam Di and the 500 female wives and the earnest request of Venerable Ananda, the Blessed One realized that it was inexplicable for them to give up. the desire to join the Sangha, so He reluctantly accepted the request. However, in order to limit the uncertainties that could happen to the Sangha later, he made a number of conditions that the nuns had to comply with, known as the Eight Precepts. The Buddha clearly taught that if women could voluntarily obey the Eight Precepts, they would allow renunciation.

- Bach Duc The Ton! If you agree to allow them to renounce, no matter what precepts they will give, they will happily follow.

Although carrying a female body but full of macho

Monks and nuns Dai Ai Dao led the nuns' group, but they and their nuns also did not arbitrarily accept them, not arbitrarily go alms. Their uniform is one color, one type, when they go, they do not go alone, travel far in their hands without carrying a row of furniture, no interaction with the laity or in the secular house ... All work on, they all comply with the rules, practice very seriously.

Dai Ai Dao deserves to be a first monk, worthy of being a leader of the nuns. Accepting the woman ordained, the Blessed One hopes that the nuns can learn the virtue of the Great Patriarch bhikkhuni, which prevents the Buddha's teachings from becoming lost.

Bhikshuni Dai Ai Dao abided more than ninety years old to enter Nirvana. At that time, the Buddha stood before the audience and said to her:

- Hey monks! You should not look down on Mahi Bhikshunis as a woman. Although she is a female body, she has a macho virtue, a person with great virtue, worthy of being an example for the future Sangha.

The Buddha, before the assembly, praised the virtue of the Bhikkhunis of Mahayana, who studied, especially the example of the Eight Precepts. END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.15/6/2020.
