Chapter I: Practicing.
1. Austerities: Find Again "Ban Lai Ban Item".VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
The dharma that we cultivate is the Dharma-Supreme dharma, which has no form, because it is the dharma in the mind.
Monastic renunciation is for the purpose of rediscovering the identity of the item - his true face before his parents were born. When you have not clarified this, wisdom has not yet opened; just like the moon, hidden by the dark clouds, cannot show clarity.
Cultivation is for liberation, not being immersed in samsara. See you can tu to the Five Aggregates (Sac, feeling, thought, onion, consciousness) are "no" reasonable?
Cultivation is necessary to eliminate greed, hatred and delusion; reaching the place where the body, mouth, and mind are clean.
From the beginning of time, the karma that we created is filled with mountains. Nowadays, monks and nuns need to eliminate their karma. If not skillful practice, but on the contrary, create poor, the other high karma mount more and more high; forever you have no way out of samsara.
2. The Foot Pillar of Practitioners
Whenever you start the mindfulness concept by yourself, it is wrong, it is because of the "self", the "I" exists. This is a very subtle thought; just because this thought starts to arise, all other thoughts arise.
Reproach the other wrong, others bad, and you are always right, always good; It is fun to hear people say that we are good; being annoyed by others will make you feel bad; it is all-self Minister-real find yourself, there are people. When practicing, but there is also a general-self such that it is not possible to peaceful practice. When I was a self-general, I could see that there was a "me", very important to the "I" and the "I" and "them" boundaries. Thus, there is no benefit to the practice, which in turn results in disturbing emotions.
If you immerse yourself first, clinging to rupa, sound, aroma, taste, contact, dharma (color, sound, aroma, taste, touch, and idea) then wisdom cannot be developed.
Your ears always love to hear, hear if anyone speaks ill of you; eyes always like to see beautiful images; Those are things that are not conducive to spiritual practice.
Except for greed, hatred and delusion, there is no way to declare wisdom!
Just greed for something is enough to bring us back to the cycle of reincarnation!
Join one thing more then one more thing. Less one anniversary, then a little less karma, increasing an additional liberation.
Do not get angry, though small as a feather; otherwise, I cannot enter the religion.
If you still have love and affection in father and mother relationships, friends, colleagues, relatives ..., then hundreds of thousands of lives you will remain in samsara. If there is a Buddha seed, then the practice is relatively faster.
Do not let the evil, trash filled with the brain, it's miserable! Do not love beauty; Please wear this robes (only the robes of monks and nuns) and go directly to the Western world. If you like (to wear beautiful) clothes, then later in the West, you will naturally have beautiful clothes to wear, no need to sew to buy. Some have not been to the West but now have the shape like there already.
Should not learn stubborn, obstinate.
There should not be ego (always thinking of "I", always thinking that "I" is right). There is ego-clinging, the wisdom does not open. Do not be born high heart long because it obstructs the Path.
Without clearing the notion of "I" and "person" (personal-self), there is no way to liberate. Master-Teacher taught him the method of Liberation; He said Dharma is not for earning talent.
If someone who is talented but not skillful austerities, so keep thinking whirring, calculating this and that. Austerities are spiritual practices, colors, flavors, flavors, emotions, and dhammas; is to wear a crude robe, eat protein rice, and see if you have the ability to cultivate to clear your mind.
In the mind, the evil forces are strong and the good tendencies are weak.
Then it's good to say: "I'm very good"; If that's bad, then say, "I'm the best!" Evil thoughts are always at the top, overwhelming good thoughts; so the good is ultimately crushed by evil. That is not a good thing.
From the beginning of time, until now, due to the meager concept of goodness in our hearts and the many bad notions, the innate self-nature (Buddha-nature) is covered and does not appear. Because of that accumulated evil thought, we start hoping to recite, like to sleep, to enjoy ... without any resistance to it. That is the karma; so I have to cultivate to subdue it. If not, even if you go around listening to lectures, you are just listening to a pile of troubles but still full, there is no place to communicate!
When karma comes, disturbing emotions arise. When not mindful, wrong thoughts arise.
At that time, you see that everyone is not in the eye; Seeing anything is not pleasing. Some people want to leave the temple; or some people feel like they have no intention of wanting to continue. In fact, no matter whether you are rational or unreasonable, every time you start to suffer, you are wrong!
Without fear, the mind is calm. When the mind is afraid, it is not possible to settle down.
Fear is the psychology that lets you feel only, others don't feel like you; therefore, only yourself is detrimental. When I'm not in control, then I'm afraid. Scared too, afraid forever, the birth of disturbing emotions. Then, the mind is not stable, there will be no more spiritual Dao!
Question: Teacher, when practicing, it is not simple!
A: Don't say "not simple." You just do it will be very simple!
Question: But I am a mortal so ...
A: Saying you are "ordinary", that is attachment!
Question: But I have not practiced anything ...
A: Don't say no practice (then no practice). You need to have faith, that: "I have the ability to become a Buddha. I also have the ability to cultivate to a place." If you think like that, you are more diligent. Don't keep saying, "I, I ..."; by itself (the concept of "I") works, hinders you!
Once upon a time, there was an official who resigned and ordained as a monk. He was afraid of others knowing his identity and therefore did not reveal his noble status (someone with a high position, fully dressed, very vulnerable to being lost because wealth cannot be permanent). He does all sorts of inferior things like cleaning, cleaning ...; No one knows his identity. One day, he cleaned and became enlightened! He knew that he had broken many temple bowls in the past, thus speeding up the compensation for the temple.
It is because he has no idea of "I" that he is enlightened. Therefore, eliminate the self-minister.
It is not necessary to have a discriminative mind in order to eliminate the self-fall. When I was still attached to the notion of "I", it didn't work out. Except for the self-fall, the new wisdom begins.
Austerities, cannot be attached. Attachment is born negativity.
Tu Dao is the need to subtract greed, hatred and delusion; attain to pure body, mouth, and mind.
If we want to eliminate the attachment of "I", we must come from the place where we have to wear a robe, eat a protein meal and use the labor - reducing desires, not having a discriminating mind, not thinking about ourselves, about people, about sentient beings, or about life expectancy.
Everything is a brother-in-law dispute. See if you can cultivate to the point where there are no more brothers and sisters?
You need to practice rings; patience, patience is the basic, the root of cultivation. If you cannot cultivate rings, then it is in vain to bring the appearance, the appearance of the monk!
Do not give yourself always right. Such an attitude cannot cultivate the mind.
Practicing does not need to have the concept of "me." Should not recite his past, when not ordained, then this position, position and position; If you do that, you cannot let go of everything and cannot cultivate the Path. When you become a monk, there is no longer a position, position, education, diploma, talent ...; Everyone is the same.
Good is smiling, bad is smiling; because good or bad are all created by the mind of discrimination. Therefore, do not discriminate.
When it comes to jobs that inspire you, ask yourself, "Who is having fun?" When faced with afflictions, ask yourself, "Who is sad?"
When you have bad thoughts or when you have defilements, turn to Buddha Amitabha. Whenever those bad ideas come, crush them right away.
So you need to recite Amitabha, saying to yourself, "Disturbing! Hurry and go away, there's nothing for now!" That is the mind mind treatment.
The religious path needs to go through hardships; so that he can enlighten. Do not expect everyone to be good to you; if the religious is not the same as the secular.
Austerities must suffer losses and losses; Only then can we progress.
Practicing is doing things that no one will do; always brave, diligent, not calculating, so that "this is not for me to do!"; because that attitude is not different from life.
Doing things that others don't do, that's how to cultivate blessing. Austerities are not doing comparative calculations; No need to calculate and arrange.
Good things are collected for learning; bad things are put aside. Understanding within yourself is enough; following this practice tu patience-humiliation Ba-la-secret. If you're a monk, don't ask "right" with "wrong", don't say "rational" or "ridiculous."
Tu do not say marketing, who is right and wrong. Even though I'm right and others say I'm wrong, I still accept that opinion. Whenever you consider yourself wrong - even if you are right - defilements will not arise; otherwise your mind will be insecure, sorrow will come.
On the religious path, there are many things that are not the same as the secular, secular path; therefore, don't dispute "right" with "not right."
Once, there were two disciples who meditated together, one sitting very solemnly, the other leaning back and forth; but their Master whiped him and sat solemnly. If the people today then perhaps he was angry, being afflicted already; but the disciple was extremely embarrassed, asking Master to give instructions.
Practicing is not a "right" and "wrong" dispute. Practicing requires meticulous patience; even if I'm right and blamed for being wrong, I have to accept it.
(Method: Recite the Buddha, Lord Buddha, generate the mind to work at the temple, without calculation. Whenever calculating, being disturbed, that is create new karma.)
If you really want to cultivate, that's your blessing; so it is necessary to cultivate both blessing and wisdom. Each person needs to eliminate all the karma created in the past, then stop creating new karma; so blessed, hue will increase.
It is foolish to practice, stupid to eat, to recite Buddha's name for many.
Today is today. Tomorrow is tomorrow. Whatever you do, don't put your hands in your nose. That is the solid mind, which is spiritual practice.
When cultivating, just cultivate, do not need to think, calculate what is going to study Buddhism-study, get a degree, do this and that? It is not a practice.
Later, when I (Venerable Quang Kham) no longer exist, don't be sad; just listen to my words and recite the Buddha's name, cultivate asceticism. For good or bad situations, it is not recommended to accept, need to be predestined.
Austerities need to get rid of the body. clothes, food, accommodation must be simple. Need to wear rough, plain rice. If you are too focused on eating, dressing, and living, how are you different from the secular? When you disregard eating, wearing, and staying, you will subtract greed, hatred and delusion.
When those things (clothes, meals, houses ...) are too affluent, the desire will abate, the greed will soar. Therefore, want to let go body and mind, they must from where to eat, wear, in the elaborate lower.
When there's something good or bad, don't let it show on your face. As you are ill, don't let others know you are sick. As though I was sick, everyone who looked at me said, "You look very good physically"; No one knew I was sick at the time.
a) Eyes
When seeing the shortcomings and faults of others, don't be discriminated against, compared. Observe yourself. Everyone has a Buddha nature.
Should not look at the dark night of his bad. You must constantly check for your own mistakes or mistakes. Practice like that does not go against the Dao.
Anything that do not accept the general minister. Seeing good appearance, don't be content; see bad appearance also do not start negativity.
b) Ear
Say you are good, criticize you as bad: This is not because people are wrong, but actually you are not stable.
Austerities need to be free. Don't pay attention to the criticism and all that.
Others criticize you: This is where you have to cultivate.
When we practice spiritually, we need a realm to challenge. Self-cultivation, self-enlightenment - defilements are Bodhi. Practicing is the practice at that place. When there is an attacker your mind is still calm, calm, uneasy; it is a monk.
It is not to say: "I bow to Buddha many times a day, recite Buddha's name with many strings" and that is enough; must know that these are the predestined conditions (but must know how to cultivate in the remaining time).
When you swept the temple clean, there was a vicious teacher saying you did not clean it. If at that time, you and your teacher have justified and explained, then you still have a bad personality. If you accept the insult, then answer: "Yes, I will wipe it out"; then that is spiritual practice.
When you cultivate to the point of mindfulness and clarity, your ears like to hear good or bad words, you will feel them very clearly. When your ears only like to hear good words or words, bring bad words back and cultivate.
c) Mouth
When speaking, words need to be refined (only speak the main point) and simplified (simple). When words don't need to be said, don't say!
Austerities should not market (decry, speak ill of others), do not put things.
In Buddhism, the most fear is to say the market. The person who talks about the market is the non-trustee (untrustworthy), who only creates speech. Austerities are here that cultivates; otherwise, someone who only knows to eat three meals a day!
Don't say marketing; Because talking in the market will lead to failure, and make others unsettled.
What to say about others, first ask your conscience.
Don't criticize others for being wrong, being at fault. Words once said, you are wrong then. Therefore, the mouth is very important!
Every day you must train yourself to not greed, not gossip.
When you open your mouth, talk about the Buddha Dharma, Western birth. The "secular habit" strain you've cultivated in your mind is more than enough; Therefore, do not continue to say the words worldly, poet!
There are people who speak often make the listener afflicted, the mind can not be settled; making the listener not know how to handle it properly. Yes, he still made people listen to him but did not know if he would listen to them? As a result, the listener is afflicted, upset, and cannot solve any problem.
In the temple, no more than two or three people gather around to gossip; or to cling to one another, to criticize one person or another, to be right and wrong, while they are not present. Doing so would easily cause insecurity in them, breaking into the world of mass harassment.
Austerities need to be in the unanimous, not self-contradictory; meaning not to be "verbal mind non" (mouth says one side, one mind reclining).
Austerities must pay attention to the password. A good mouth is good for the mind. Don't say, "My mouth is not good, but goodness!"
After renunciation already, in the temple there are still people who speak non-town. However, don't tell them the marketing is enough. Do not keep opening your mouth is non-marketing. Whoever gossips and speaks about other people, he is a market keeper.
Whenever you have free time, prostrate to Buddha and recite Buddha's name.
When you start afflicting, sad, do not get someone to say this and that. Talk back and forth, how are you caught in the habit of philandering. It is best to prostrate to a lot to eliminate negativity.
Ask: Listen to the lecture (about the food) so I do not dare to eat too much, too full; but weak power, what should I do?
A: Need to eat enough. Mostly not greedy, not attached.
Not that every delicious food, eat a little more, bad food, eat a little less. Don't crave for flavor, taste, contact, and dharma
When you start a bad thought, don't be attached to it; tell yourself: "You shouldn't think evil!" Cannot use punishment, because punishment only harms itself.
Things with a general appearance are easy to see. The invisible formless is difficult to see (such as marketing ...); We need to be strong-hearted, not to be dragged into them.
A: Recite "Namo Amitabha Buddha" for many.
Question: How can bring wisdom to bring knowledge?
If you follow Master's virtuous example (Master Venerable Quang Kham), it's okay to go everywhere.
Our false bodies are hard to avoid illnesses; However, the disease itself is small.
There is delusion, greed, hatred and delusion are the great diseases. Still delusion is still continuing the chain of reincarnation, not ending the cycle of birth and death.
To ensure mindfulness at the moment of death, we normally need to take the "Amitabha Buddha" medicine; If not, I won't know where to die!
At walking, standing, lying, sitting, you must always meet the Buddha Dharma, enlighten your morality; so it's not a waste of time. Time passed very quickly, must take advantage of it to experience. If cultivated like this, then new bad thoughts have no chance of arising; Without doing that, there will be no mindfulness.
When the mouth does not speak, the mind thinks; But don't think things that have form, silhouette; Must think outside the form.
Is it easy for you to practice spiritually?
Now, what we do is only hard work, asceticism. Because currently we have not been greed, hatred and delusion, so this is the stage of cultivating the mind. Wait until those things are no longer a piece of a piece, then called the Dao.
You need to take 10 years, 20 years to maintain a sentence "Amitabha Buddha" without letting go, plus elaborately Tin, May, Onions.
Austerities are not as easy to "eat" as tofu, put them in your mouth and you can eat them right away!
If you have the Dao-mind, slowly cultivate to 40, 50 years old, have no fear, become "old masters," then you will have a little bit of freedom; but it is not very free. If you do not enlighten the Dao, even up to 40, 50 years old, negativity will still flood, easily become crazy.
Austerities need to keep the Middle Path (equilibrium). Don't be too urgent, don't be slow; must be like the "water cellar", the water flows slowly and continuously.
For spiritual practice, you must keep the Middle Path by elaborately letting go and looking at it. Need to wear a rough coat, eat rice protein, and do not accept attachment to identity, sound, flavor, contact, and dharma. However, to practice naturally; Not being reluctant, setting up not to eat rice, not to wear a coat even though it's cold, or not to sleep and sleep to prove you are an excellent monk! When cultivating to a certain level, naturally you will no longer know hunger, no longer need to sleep and sleep.
Be diligent, brave austerities. Tu comes when you no longer have the necessities to eat, dress, and stay, then you can go to the mountain retreat; That way you may be able to accomplish. If the practitioner has not reached such a level, he retreats, then he will encounter obstacles later.
In the process of austerities, arising disturbing emotions is not a good thing. It is necessary not to have disturbing emotions, anxiety, sadness and joy, in order to be good.
When there is no sin, then it is merit!
If it is possible for each day to be peaceful and calm to recite the Buddha's name, to the Buddha, to be a monk, nothing happens, that's good; Do not expect this and that.
Today is today. Tomorrow is tomorrow.
Today does not happen any wall, can recite the Buddha's name through the day, is enough already.
Tomorrow's work, for tomorrow's sake - don't be afraid, don't worry.
Removing the self-self (concept and attachment to the notion of self and person) is something that a cultivator must do to comprehend. Do it, it's called meticulous damage. If you can't do it, you go anywhere, every temple is in vain. Tu to such a level, your meticulous achievement.
Everything is due to "I, you", I, who "dispute, division that out. See you have the ability to cultivate to no longer" me, people "reasonable?
Just take the opportunity to do, depending on predestined days, then anything will not disturb your mind. Everything: eat, drink, sleep, rest, wear, stay, market, humiliation ... let go of them coldly. When wiping out those predestined conditions, the wisdom in the mind will naturally develop.
The ordinary mind is the Path: Every day keep the mind from starting to be afflicted, sad, and not too happy. It is neither good nor bad to treat people; depending on predestined relationship with them. However, don't be predestined, that is, do not take advantage of them to take advantage.
Always pay attention to the start of your thoughts, thoughts and thoughts. When you have a bad idea, you must immediately wake up and put it away.
Austerities, need practice with an attitude of fearless, such as cranes nest so. The crane doesn't worry about eating or drinking; If it likes it, nest it there. When it wants to, it flaps its wings and flies away. It is the most free and free bird.
When cultivating, you must have the attitude of "invisible fear" everywhere, everywhere. Yes, the mind is calm, new as unmoving.
Austerities, need to cultivate to the point that there are no more obstacles in dynamic or static situations.
What is "dynamic and static no longer afraid of?" That is, in a dynamic situation your mind is not moving: You are not affected by an external dynamic situation that moves your mind. And when you are in a quiet situation, you have no idea of being quiet.
Must use the recitation of Buddha's voice to wipe out these two dust states, causing the flower to open; that is why you are mindful. When reciting Buddha's name, you need to transfer mindfulness - transform, turn evil thoughts into mindfulness!
Everything must be let go. Let go is meticulous.
Normally, treat anything to let go; No problems, no problems. That is to avoid the case of death, the ultimate moment, the delusion emerging that draws us into the endless cycle of reincarnation.
The purpose of the practice is to die, you are no longer entangled, no longer afraid of anything; Just relax and bring your own glory (wise merit of wisdom)!
Austerities need to be the same everywhere; wherever you are, you can be free. Monk practice here.
Austerities, need not to let the external environment influence, entice your mind.
You need to pay attention to your mind: It is necessary to have joy arising from the inside, not the joy brought about by the good circumstances outside. Therefore, you must always observe your own mind, consider your thoughts, and don't pay attention to your surroundings. I have to cultivate to the point that "I have nothing"!
Practicing is spiritual practice and wisdom. By the time you get older, "old" is, then blessing and wisdom will be complete; then, everyone will respect you (don't be greedy when you are young, when you lack blessings).
When you cultivate truthfully and properly, wherever you are, people will come to you; Everyone is happy to want to talk with you.
Need to go to the righteous mind to always pay. Only mindfulness can distinguish between what is right and what is wrong; and then act from there.
Practice spiritually, cultivate on your own. From practice to enlightenment - the suffering in Ta-she, the suffering must be reincarnated. Whenever it comes to realization, a little wisdom appears.
Practice, need to cultivate until you have wisdom. What happens to you, you know how to manipulate it. When speaking, need to know how to use the tablet. Once I have stood firm, I can make others believe and receive it happily.
Having new wisdom does not create negative karma. Therefore, one must cultivate a mind of compassion and practice the Bodhisattva conduct.
Austerities, need practice for compassionate appearance. Tu how can others see the gentle, compassionate look in his eyes!
When a practitioner accomplishes, others will be blessed. At that time, everyone started their courageously and diligently to follow his example.
When everyone wants to practice, let's encourage together and practice together. If not, then people will start to talk about things, create jealousy, dispute, and become foolish; Then, the practice in the temple will not be peaceful anymore.
Tu practice well, naturally there are supporters; not force people to be.
Do not hope, hope that the benefactor would offer this and that. Do not rely on the host. You only need to practice spiritually; When cultivating achievements, Thien, Long, Bat Bo all came to support you.
When meditating, seeing whether the world is good or bad, don't be attached to it; don't talk about it either.
Dharma is not attached, stopped in the realm of Lac, Minh and Khong.
When the body contempt, gently, the mind will rejoice (Lac); when there is less hope in mind, the mind will be clear (Minh); and when there is no thought or thought arising, attain the state of no.
If you are entangled in a realm of Lac, then fall and the Heavenly-Precepts, attachment to the Ming realm, become trapped in the Sac-Precepts, and cling to the Realm of Non-attachment in Infinite-Sacrifice.
1. Strong Faith, Suffering Hanh
People have Bat Suffering - Being born, aging, sickness, death, unjustly praying (suffering due to their wishes but not being satisfied), Ai separating (suffering from being separated from the one they love), resentment by meeting (suffering) because they have to be close to the people they resent, and the warm-hearted Ngu-warm (suffering due to being controlled by this body).
If you have the vow to cultivate asceticism, then you will have some magical power, you will know this and that. At that time, I felt myself in control.
If everyone has a vow to cultivate asceticism, then everyone can become a Buddha, can be reborn in the West, and be reborn from a lotus. The monks are the Western robes.
The rice of the renunciant must be frugal; consider this to be a ascetic.
Austerities need to suffer. The more you suffer, the more you get it.
A. Encouraging Practicing
The practice is based on one's practice. Like drinking water, when you don't drink it you don't know its taste; finished drinking to know the taste There are new practices to ensure the practice is genuine.
Walk, stand, lie and sit - you must use it to meet the Dharma. The days pass like a shot, don't be distracted!
"One day has passed,
The network also decreases,
Like a dried up fish,
Try asking something funny? "
Impermanence - a breath that does not come back, life is angry! Therefore, quickly brave, diligent; Don't let go, loose! Consider reciting the Buddha's name as the most urgent and urgent!
Wealth, wealth - everything we don't bring with us at birth and will not be brought with us at death:
"Everything is not good enough,
Only personal karma. "
Do not waste your precious life on things outside of your body. Must hurry, practice early!
B. Happiness
The concept of good, the good karma we bring (from previous lives) is few, but the more evil concept. Therefore, now we need to cultivate asceticism to eliminate karma. Therefore, should not be greedy sleep, greed ... You have to sweep all those bad thoughts away! Having mindfulness is less disturbing.
Austerities of happiness are the aspirations of the Great Patriarch's calendar, of Duc Pho-Hien, Van-Thu, Quan-Am, Dia-Tibet, and the Great Bodhisattvas. Today we imitate, follow their example.
When the Venerable Hu-Van walked three steps at a time of painting, he was alone, with a stick, and a makeshift meal. Every day you bow to where you count; The story will be calculated tomorrow. His mind has absolutely no attachment to anything. Therefore Long, Thien, and Dharma protectors all protect him. We have no wish; If you wish, anything can be done to your destination!
The ascetic practice is to cultivate the vow; whether you have or not vow. The less karma, the new one can vow to cultivate asceticism. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas attain the Dao by virtue of their prayers.
Question: But I cannot make vows of Asceticism?
A: May it not be "I want to be like this or that"; because then there is still the "self", the "me." May the natural distribution be made, and for the sake of sentient beings.
Like myself, I never said what I was like, where I am? Even though I have achievements today, I don't know!
What is austerity ascetic? That is not to measure, calculate everything. For everyday matters, do not initiate the mind of discrimination.
Tu Suffering-ie ie clean mind, change the seed.
Austerities are not simple things, because asceticism is mindfulness.
Austerity is not a simple thing, it is to do "haphazardly." Doing "harrow" is not the right solution. If you do "harrowing", even if you have to end your life, then reincarnation will not come anywhere!
The ascetic deed does not mean making much.
Working is training your mind.
Working must be leisurely; Don't be too hasty.
Working long time will get used to the hand; Then you can enlighten. Now, what the job needs to be, you just need to look through it to know immediately; No need to squeeze your forehead and think about it.
If you want to cultivate asceticism, you need to practice whether you are capable of letting go of this body or not.
This body is temporary, will definitely be destroyed; Even if you want to save, there is no way to recover.
What is "letting go of this body"? That is to eat protein rice, wear a rough coat, cover three layers of tomato; not to mention delicious, nice dress!
I teach you to base on the Dharma-practice of reciting Buddha's name.
Once upon a time, I was on a mountain practicing spiritually, depending on my predestined relationship. As long as all beings can eat, humans can eat; it is called the natural offering of heaven and earth.
If you are so hungry and so stubborn you endure, your body will fail. Austerities need to use the mind; extreme things like not eating and drinking like that should not be cultivated.
I cultivate to this day, feeling that if most cultivators, unfortunately, practice wrong, then it is dangerous. Only the Buddha Recitation is the best.
What is "wearing rough clothes, eating protein"?
It's not like not eating rice! It is to eat to fill, not to eat well; wear warm enough to cover yourself, not beautiful. It is good to sleep well enough to have enough spirit; Do not fall asleep. Sleeping a lot is prone to drowsiness, confusion, and heavy feelings.
If you set up not to eat rice, fasting, it will make the body weak, then it will be difficult to cultivate. So it's a waste for you to come here to practice.
I used to work through it (fasting); Only when you are old, you know it's wrong.
Practicing sitting and sleeping is the asking for good roots; It's not simple. Don't talk about the method, how to practice it, how to treat it, etc.
This is something the good-hearted person wants to cultivate. When practiced, when there is mindfulness, nature will succeed. However, if the path is wrong, then "the body is lost, hard to recover!" A lot of people have made a mistake!
Question: The Venerable Master often teaches us to follow the example of the great Master Foundations. However, if the circumstances are too good: food, clothing, and shelter are not lacking, how to learn from the gods?
A: You should not be greedy, immersed first in everything (eat, dress, and live); Just being able to live through the day is good enough.
Don't say there is a lot of food to be offered, and then plug in your neck, make yourself a slave to the mouth. However, you cannot eat too little, so your stomach is hungry. You have to eat your stomach, eating enough to be full is good - don't distinguish between good and bad!
Currently, all foods have chemicals, or have been contaminated with chemicals, disinfectants ... When the food is really unable to eat, or is already spoiled, do not eat. Just eat indiscriminately, eat a lot more, you can die!
3. Let Go Of This Rotten Leather Bag!
This rotten leather bag is for us to borrow but temporarily stay. However, because of it (this body), we create infinite karma.
We are all born of karma, so full of suffering. Fewer killing, reciting Buddha's name more, can eliminate the karma.
When the body is sick and taking any medicine is not good, recite Buddha's name, the disease will be healed, because Amitabha Buddha is the "Supreme King Medicine King" (the highest physician king).
Can human beings escape from digital existence and suffering?
For example, someone has a heart attack; if he specializes in reciting Buddha's name, then heart disease will definitely heal. If he recites the Buddha's name but still wants to go to the doctor to check the condition, then reciting the Buddha's name returns the Buddha's name, the disease cannot be healed (lack of sincerity). If he can concentrate on reciting the Buddha's name, the illness will heal, but he himself will not know either!
This body is like a house; will surely fall apart. At that time, no matter how repaired it would collapse. Therefore we must let go of our attachments to this false body; Don't take care of yourself.
After all, this body is illusory; nevertheless, we have to skillfully use it to practice spiritually.
Should not be too precious this body. When being sick, don't be too concerned; Because it's a challenge. Too concerned about this body should be challenged.
When sick, you must be able to assemble the impermanence of life. It is difficult to avoid birth, old age, sickness, death, and suffering; Therefore, the more effort, increase the spiritual practice!
If the renunciants do not rely on Buddhism but practice, the ten cultivators have nine wrong people.
Practitioners study the Dharma, not that:
"I don't need anything!" That is going astray then.
Read the Kim-Cang Sutta more, you will not be too attached.
Should read for many books and stories about Buddha, Bodhisattva, Great Patriarchal calendar, monks, Venerable. We have to learn from their examples and learn about the experiences of the spiritual practice that made them Buddhas.
Man is the one in the best spiritual position; because becoming a Buddha or going to hell all from where this person is determined.
After taking the precepts, studying the Dharma, you have the spiritual examples of the Patriarchs, and you have the scriptures to refer to - see if you can find yourself a spiritual path.
Secular books in life, you've already read them all (when you haven't cultivated, still in society); so should not be because of it that reincarnation in this realm Ta-Ba!
When you have free time, consider the classics. See sutras to understand, then rely on the scriptures that practice, practice; not after watching and then chatting.
Some (renunciates already) still go to school (real life school); It is like a secular person! When he does not have a pillar of practice to rely on, the more he learns, the more chaos he has.
You need to take time; Don't let time and time go to waste. Take time to watch the sutras, bow to Buddha, recite the Buddha's name, meditate, meditate!
The suttas are the path. When defilement comes, follow this "path" and escape. If you know how to use the scriptures, when defilement comes, negativity is Bodhi. If you do not know how to manipulate, then defilement is ignorance.
If defilement comes and you don't know liberation, you will be hard-wired into negativity; That is like taking the wrong medicine, or taking the poison. It is up to you to take or not to take medicine. You must take medicine for the right medicine; Do not drink the wrong poison! What does that mean? This means that you have to know "reflected light bounce", turn your mind to reflect the heart (look afflicted according to the eyes of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the scriptures).
The entire Tripitaka is in our mind. Gender, Dinh, Hue also only in this mind.
Gender, Dinh, Hue is not something to take to talk - that's what is used to practice, to cultivate (break) the Five Elements. Chanting does not have to be clarified. You must meet the meaning of Sutra; If not, it is for your renunciation!
Dharma teaching is just a word of mouth. You need to cultivate yourself to look there. We have to realize everything; If not, you will be attached to the classic!
Where is the sutra hidden? Sutras are hidden right in our hearts, but we need to open our wisdom to know them. If you don't cultivate wisdom, then watch the Sutta you will be vague. When wisdom opens, when watching the Sutta you will feel very mature and fluent; At the same time, you will gain more truths.
When one reason is clear, all reason is thorough!
Now, when you are still in the action, you should learn well the content of the book Zen Meditation Using Chanting (ie Daily reading, two elaborate periods). Later, when you are in a still state, you will use it.
When the work, work done, if there is time left, you see Sutra. See What suttas? As long as you willow, will meet the two elaborate-elaborate, then follow that practice, you will definitely escape samsara.
You should be clever that the Assembly Quy-y; whether I have done it to arrive.
Like "Taking refuge in the Dharma, pray that sentient beings, deeply understand the Sutta Pitaka, have wisdom like the sea." How is your wisdom as far-reaching as the sea? Outsiders look at once they know right away!
Not the classic is where the black and white paper is square; because of the end, they are not things of your (true-nature).
You must see the "Beyond the Sutra in the Sūtra" - the one who knows how to read it knows right away; Anyone who doesn't know how to watch it can't know it. Therefore, whenever reciting Buddha's name, reciting it to a certain level, it will naturally be in your mind!
Question: What is Buddha?
A: Buddha is nothing. In life (society) there are sharp objects, appearance. Learning Buddha, there is nothing at all.
Things "no form" is not different colors, not different colors; and that is also true magic vacuum. Its meaning is that although it is said that there is an object, there is no such thing in mind.
The mind is "no". If there are still things in the mind that have rupa, then defilements will arise.
Q: What is "no"?
A: If you can see through (all things), it is "no".
Practice, need inward (mind, action) must agree; do not "export the mind" (mouth says one thing, the mind thinks a different way).
Seeing, hearing, feeling, knowing, is the effect of the six bases - eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind. His nature is behind these six faculties. Everyday, nature is always right with us.
How to make peace of mind? You need to be heartless (without mind). The mind (the mind-nature) is not based on nothing, and cannot find it anywhere. But this mind (legs-nature) which covers nowhere, turning throughout France.
The mind in the present: cannot grasp.
The mind in the future: also unable to grasp.
The mind is gone: it's impossible to grasp.
When you are afflicted, when your anger is angry, don't cling to, search, pursue them, or find out where they are from. Once you hold on to them, your heart will not be able to open; and therefore cannot be assured to progress.
Whatever comes, you have to see through them, not attached to them. Most important is the four-letter "Amitabha-Buddha" in his mouth!
Question: I have read the book saying: "The enlightened one has stopped the evil he created himself, but he did not eliminate the evil." How to assemble this sentence properly?
A: Must cultivate merit. For example, when I meet someone who doesn't have rice to eat, I give him some rice to eat. Always find ways to help the needy, the poor; so is the blessing of spiritual practice (that is, ending all evil by growing good deeds). And therefore, I will no longer do evil deeds (thus, the evil itself dissipates, the mind does not initiate evil thoughts).
We only know we were born by our parents. But before being born by parents, how are their faces and faces? After I die, where will I go?
Now by listening to the Dharma, knowing that the Buddha, Amitabha, is the one who delivered 48 prayers, that whoever recites his name will be led to the West. If the Buddha so wish, then we also have to make vows: vow to rebirth Pole-Lac.
We have to be sure that there is a World of Great Bliss, there is the Great Compassion Buddha (Amitabha Amitabha); then we must always recite Buddha's name until we are at the moment of our death to be mindful. When dying, but capable of reciting Buddha's name, Buddha Amitabha will come to lead. However, if you still have the thought of attachment to anything, no matter how small, like a needle or a blade of grass in this Ta-Ba realm, you will fall into samsara again!
The karma of Buddha and the Bodhisattva is the concern for their beings.
When the Ta-Ba realms are beings, there is Buddha and the Bodhisattva. When there are no beings, then the Buddha and the Bodhisattva no longer exist.
Quickly practice to return to the West, otherwise here is very miserable! Here you see the impatience, but in the West is pure and cool.
The world is full of struggle - we have to find a peaceful place like the West of Amitabha Buddha.
I was mischievous, obsessed with reincarnation. Now, we need to be wise to find the way to die - that path is Amitabha Buddha Recitation.
The four births (the four types of beings born from the egg, from the fetus, from the low temperature, and from the transformation) are in the cycle of reincarnation, without interrupting samsara. The reason is that the notion of greed, affliction, delusion ... arises when the Six Faculties (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind) come into contact with the Six Tran (image, color, sound, fragrance) , taste, emotions, dharma). Therefore Sau Can is harmful.
Nowadays, it is very difficult for you to have time to practice spiritually. To see if you can find the way to escape samsara or not. If you pay too much attention to this body, you don't have to practice reciting Buddha's name. Too much care for this body, there's no way to save it!
Amitabha Sutta refers to the Buddha in the six directions - East, West, South, North, Upper and Lower - all manifesting a broad and long tongue (ie the Dharma teaching), which makes the Dharma sound spread throughout the three thousand realms of Heaven. World-World - mostly inductive to the West.
Where is the West? Staying in one's mind - when the mind is unscathed, without disturbing emotions, it is the Western.
Although our body arises in the realms of Ta-Ba, if we recite Buddha's name and recite the mind until the time is clear, then the Buddha-land will be pure. That is when the mind is pure, no disturbing emotions, no delusion; then it is the Pure Land - the Land of Pure Land in the middle of Ta-Bà - whose mind is the West.
The Western Bliss is in our mind. We need to recite the Buddha until the mind is pure; Reciting in a focused, focused way. When reciting Buddha's name, you need to make a vow to give birth to the Western world, leaving the world to suffer. Do not be too beloved, cherish this fleshly body.
Every world as well as every grain of sand, including thousands of beings that everyone can be born in the West.
Whenever we recite Buddha's name, the lotus (in the West) will bloom. Hence saying: "Mindfulness (reciting Buddha's name), flowers bloom."
To recite Buddha's name makes us really pure. Reciting Buddha's name is the way to the West. Whenever we recite the Buddha's name, we will go to the West without having to buy a train ticket or an airplane; because the French boat has no form.
Reciting the Buddha's name, chanting, watching the Sutta and speaking are four things that you are sure to do every day. It is best to talk less. The time to recite and watch the scriptures should not be more than the best time to recite the Buddha's name. Reciting Buddha is still the key.
See the scriptures do not need too much. What is wrong with everyone, just say "Amitabha Buddha". To avoid marketing problems, keep saying "Amitabha Buddha".
Be quiet, calmly recite Buddha's name; The idea of falling asleep is always possible. When the mind comes to the specialized place - just one thought - then you can export the Three Realms, directly to the West. When practicing spiritually, you need to practice: seeing with your eyes but pretending not to see, ears pretending to be ignorant; just sincerely recite Buddha's name.
No need to read many books, just recite Buddha's name for many. When wisdom opens, all the Suttas will naturally be at your mind.
Walking, standing, lying and sitting should all be within the scope of reciting Buddha's name.
When you recite the mind, you will enlighten that we are from morning to night, the mind always closes its eyes outside without ever contemplating whether our mind is directed toward Amitabha Buddha. Do not allow your mind to be tied to a bunch of followers, disciples, or the outside world. If you tie them, they will be turned and dragged away; Scary!
Currently you are not enough mindfulness, ten parts are not one; so it is very dangerous. When you recite Buddha's name much, it is Zen.
Some say retreat, but they are full of delusion, the brain is not at all pure. When you sit quietly, feel tired, you should get up and walk.
When you recite Buddha's name and leave the realm, that is Zen. You must maintain mindfulness, because there are always many evil seeds in your mind.
When reciting Buddha's name without mindfulness, your heart always thinks this and that. Mouth of mind that mind is extroverted. If you really want to, then you can make your mind the most specialized. If you don't want to cultivate, then how to recite Buddha's name (for success)?
If you recite the Buddha's name and leave the outside world, and the Buddha corresponds, then you will know this mind and Buddha are the same.
The most important thing when reciting Buddha's name is to listen to the recitation clearly.
Reciting Buddha's name means going to China-Dao? No good, no bad.
Although reciting Buddha's name is also a illusory story, it belongs to mindfulness. Therefore, we use illusory (recite Buddha's name) to eliminate illusory (delusion).
Question: How to recite the most specialized way?
A: This is also an attachment. As long as you do not pay any attention to delusion is okay (the mind will specialize). Because we tell ourselves: "Don't start thinking"; But delusions still arise. Therefore, when paying attention to delusions, we produce one more thought; The more you pay attention to it, the more it increases!
When thoughts arise, do not be afraid. Leave it alone, don't pay attention to it. Just one heart to recite "Amitabha Buddha". Contemplation has no entity, slowly it will vanish.
Whenever you remember reciting Buddha's name, recite it immediately; I should not be attached that I have to do this and that. Reciting the Buddha's name is noting but not accepting (attachment to) reciting.
If you recite Buddha's name and find that you are reciting or not reciting, then you are all attachments.
To recite the Buddha's name, to be dependent What do people do, where, always should depend on circumstances to recite the Buddha. It doesn't have to be said: "I need to recite as much, so many names," or "I'm reciting Buddha's name, can't work," or "I'm busy, haven't recited Buddha's name ..."
Each mind, each thought, you should not leave the Buddha realm. Go, stand, lie, sit - most movements, whatever you do, recite Buddha's name. Crying also recited Buddha's name; take a step and recite the Buddha's name. The power of reciting the Buddha's greatness is unparalleled, which can make you attain recitation of the Buddha Tam-Muoi - a kind of Dinh that is not ordinary.
When I was born, I brought with me a lot of bad karma. Therefore, don't create new karma to die and bring again; No benefit at all!
Question: Which recitation of Buddha or Bodhisattva is best?
A: All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are equally good. Not chanting one is better than the other: it is all because you distinguish, compare that out. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas don't necessarily need you to recite their names anymore.
Reciting the Buddha's name to the center of concentration, which is Zen. Should to say:
"Meditation and Pure Land simultaneously,
Ten cultivators, ten successful people.
There is Zen, there is no Pure Land,
Ten cultivators, nine who lost their way! "
Just calmly just recite the Buddha's name, then relatively not go astray or happen harm.
If your mind still desires, desires, lingers about something, then when it comes to death it will appear. Now, if you see that scene and then you fall in love with it, generate consciousness and pursue it, then as a result, you will go straight into samsara!
If you know how to clean your mind to recite Buddha's name, then when you die, there will be a lotus, Buddha, Bodhisattva and a world of hostility. Therefore, when you are alive, you need to cultivate to eliminate all mundane desires.
Khai-thi at Buddha-lost:
The purpose of the Buddha-loss is to save sentient beings reborn in the World of Extreme Bliss.
The world of Ta-Ba is born with death; The Western realm is immortal. If you go abroad, you need money to buy a ticket, do not come to the West, you just need to recite the Buddha to the most specialized level, no appearance (attachment). That is the "undying immortality" so. You have to recite Buddha's name to have a place for you to consign your life.
Recite the Buddha's name, recite the concept not far from the Buddha. Recite clearly, listen to quibble, each word must be clear. The mind remembers, the ear listens, the mouth silently recites - just like that, the mind concentrates on the Buddha. Let go of everything outside; depending on the concept of mindfulness, the mind will concentrate, specialize. Regardless of whether the "person reciting" or "reciting", regardless of whether "I recite" or "you recite"; Great-people who rely on the Buddhist concept, the mind will specialize. The Western Bliss also relies on this recitation of Buddha's name.
When fighting Buddha-Furniture, you do not let the mundane idea draw your mind. If you are not dedicated, it is a precious opportunity.
Therefore, please single heart a recite Buddha, focus on the mind.
Question: Can reciting Buddha's name be able to see Buddha?
A: Not possible!
Question: If so in the chapter Dai-The-Chi Niem Buddha-Thong has the sentence:
"If anyone remembers Buddha, recites Buddha's name,
then now or tomorrow will definitely see Buddha;
There is no need of anything, openly and openly. "
what do you mean?
A: Yes! Opening heart means seeing Buddha, seeing the Buddha of self-nature.
Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have the vow that we can rely on to practice. Therefore, when walking, standing, lying and sitting, do not leave the Buddha's recitation. When reciting Buddha's name, we will correspond to Buddha; This is the realm without form and appearance.
Do not be attached, ask why Amitabha does not appear to lead!
Regard to the level of meticulous practice to the extent, (I say let him hear), when he dies, he needs no lingering, freaking out anything to be reborn.
If the master still aspires to save sentient beings, then that desire is also an attachment, a frightening thing!
The Venerable Master asked: Where is the West?
Teacher Quang-Hóa answers: Speaking according to the azimuth, it is in the West; in fact, it is in my heart.
The Venerable Master said: Whenever Buddha has Bodhisattva, there is Pure Land. Teachers must teach them so that their listeners have a place to train to practice.
The Buddha taught that if any one day, two days ..., until seven days that can recite the Buddha to the "single-minded disorder", Buddha (Amitabha) will come to lead. But if you don't eat or sleep, then you don't need seven days, just four or five days is enough!
Teacher Quang-Hóa said: I once saw Duc Quan-Yin appear with a solemn and beautiful appearance; His whole stray chain is also beautiful.
The Master laughed, saying: Really? Where is that Bodhisattva like that?
When teachers level beings, teachers need to make vows and follow them, like Duc Quan-Yin and Pho-Hien. However, until he died, he had to let go of everything. If the vow of the teacher has not been fulfilled, then the one who comes here to continue giving birth; the more this merit is greater and greater. May the teacher inscribe in his heart.
Although the Buddha and the Bodhisattva appeared to enter Nirvana, they were indeed still around, not leaving those who were practicing like us; only they do not appear.
As long as Sutras, Laws, Abhidharma exist, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas can teach themselves.
Do not assume that no one has ordained, then there is no more (Dharma).
When you die, don't be mindful of seeing the appearances of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
Praying without seeing is a good thing.
If the bridge sees, then those appearances are not reliable.
Must expect nothing; Just recite the mind of Buddha. Buddha, Bo-slapped from the foot of pure mind appear to be true.
You have to let go of this attachment to this rotten body. Mind is the mind. Regardless of whether this body turns round or distorted, don't worry, indulge it. Needless to say, when there is evidence, what is harvested is still not true. (The Venerable Master would like to indicate Master Quang-Hoa's attachment, that he is still attached to the fact that he has witnessed Avalokiteshvara Avalokiteshvara reincarnating.)
In this (the Venerable Master points to His mind), there is nothing. They (the Master-only group of lay-members at home listening to the lecture), there are still many things.
Currently, you sleep in the dream at night, but in the morning, you are in a dream.
You are like filming a movie; This movie is very long - your whole life, but like a night dream!
(Venerable-Master encouraged Quang-Hoa to recite Buddha's name with real-form - true appearance is not form, not being born; that is true mind? , appearance, worldly affairs of the world).
I said that much today. The renunciation will be somewhat receptive, but no one in the world will understand.
Once upon a time, ancient people only said one sentence, I said too much today! Wait until you go back, you slowly receive the enlightenment, fully comprehended.
Chapter V: The Practice of Pàrami
How good work?
Everyone needs to work together. It is not that you speak in your mouth that you command others to do it; That is the attitude to be avoided. Take it easy, mildly explain the work, how to do it, so that the listener will understand clearly. For example, explain the flowers he doesn't understand, make him see; otherwise, the job will not work smoothly, both you and him will be afflicted.
When brothers and sisters work together, or when distributing work, you must rely on the spirit of Dharma and do it - be polite and polite.
Don't shout out loud, giving this, just that ... as if the father sent the son, the master sent me; That's a secular way, not good!
Do not be afraid of offending others.
If you are a manager, you must try to do it well. Everything that needs to be said must be said; not because of private feelings (the need to say but do not say), to avoid making the mistake of planting false mistakes.
Doing management is not easy. So whenever the Manager entrusts you to something - good or bad - be happy to accept it, don't get angry. Thus, the new mind lucid.
Good is learned about, bad things thrown aside. Inside is clear enough. Just follow here to cultivate patience.
When you practice, don't ask "right" or "wrong", and don't care "justified" or "ridiculous." That is the difference between monks and lay people.
Make efforts to practice spiritually. If you have a problem, ask Master, I will answer it.
The Manager says what you are doing. With this attitude, your mind will not think wandering; and so, it will be easy to practice.
If the Manager says you do what he does wrong, don't argue, do as he says; Naturally, you will be able to grasp the truth about this.
If you don't know something well, you should ask Master or your brother.
Do not be afraid of losing face, then set yourself to do.
The purpose you work for is to eliminate your own karma, not to do it for others. When many people do it together, whoever doesn't know, just teach him. If he does not do well, you wholeheartedly help him.
Do not divide the boundaries between yourself and the person very clearly (this is "my" job, that is "yours"). Whenever someone does not do it, you should not get angry, upset, but should be happy to do for him. Always be merciful (generous, forgiving)!
When you do something, don't count your privacy.
If you find something that hasn't been done yet, go ahead and do it. Don't say anything to others (criticize, question why you won't do it ...), because the merit of doing is yours. If you keep talking about others, just create more karma.
Working is a way for us to eliminate our own karma, not to do it for anyone else.
Do whatever you are willing to volunteer (not forced to do), then the wisdom will develop.
The righteous deeds at the pagoda are completely "unconditional" (no one forces, no one asks, you want to volunteer to do); Therefore, when you do not complain, blame.
My work, I try to do; Don't send someone else, making them upset. Making people angry, upset, then we will not have merit at all. The case of people arbitrarily to help themselves is different.
Don't be attached to anything, whatever is predestined.
When a brother or a brother helps you, if you are afraid, afraid of being blessed, or thinking that it is not worth being helped, or that you are afraid of letting people help you, they will enjoy all the merit ; Such ideas are attachments.
In order for others to be blessed, first of all, we must be blessed to give them to them!
The Teacher-Manager has a mind of concern and concern for himself, so he reprimanded him and pointed out his fault for letting us know.
He is the Thien-knowledge level - the person who leads the way.
Do not be scolded for an hour but instant discomfort, frustration, disturbing students.
Always be happy to receive advice, advice, encouragement (or criticism, criticism) from others. Never protest, willful, unobtrusive; then the party sectarian, anti-rivalry, hate each other.
For example, when you clean tables and chairs, Master said you should clean again, you might think, "I have cleaned like this, why did you make me wipe again?" That is the fourth thought of the worldly people.
When you practice, you need to have a frank mind: "Yes! I'll wipe it right away!" This is also a test of your heart, whether you cultivate your mind or not. Therefore, austerities in direct mind - frank mind. This is exactly how monks and nuns work.
If you know how to work, go wherever you want.
Be committed to responsibility.
If you keep eating and then lazy, not fulfilling your duties, then when the blessing is over, karma hits, naturally you will not be able to stay at the temple (that is, you have to continue)!
Working as a laborer is to train yourself. Therefore, as long as you do it, you know how you are. At work you know how you are. When you are dedicated to the job, then when it comes time to study Buddha, recite the Buddha's name, you are also dedicated; You will see for yourself. For example, when cleaning, where not clean, even a little dust, you also know, no one needs to say. Thanks to the attentive nature of attention, whatever you do, just hear it once and you know how to do it, and do it well.
Working hard, you need to be patient.
For example, when cleaning, you do it very clean; then it is like you have cleaned your mind clean and pure.
Just do just recite the Buddha, should not neglect, distraction.
Do not let your consciousness, your thoughts, your mind, your body, your mouth and your mind are pure.
When you do something, you should be careful to be considerate and perfect for that job. Don't be greedy, do whatever you want, and as a result no work will end!
Everything must be patient; So reciting Buddha's name. Slowly cultivate, the mind will cease to disturb; later it will be no different from Buddha Amitabha; Extremely free!
Do not be attached to anything, bigotry.
Sometimes when I encounter something, I want to make it so perfect and so ideal; and then forget others, ignore them. That is my attachment to work, too pursuing (success).
Every day do something, make it clear, with the mind always turning towards Buddha, also on the Path. Thus, sweeping trash can also enlighten you, because your mind at that time is sweeping dust and ignorance!
If you work on the books and records (at the temple's office), you will endure a great deal with the sentient beings; different from people when they also work in the office or the office. Your merit is equal to that of the afternoon chanting; so you should not compare and birth frustrated, afflicted.
Do not be attached to appearance, appearance; Also, don't hesitate to dress, don't like this, don't like that. If not, eventually you could not do anything to help the temple but were also attracted to clothes and dresses.
I need to sacrifice myself to do anything for the temple.
If you are too worried about preserving this body, then it is difficult to cultivate and bless; On the contrary, this rotten "leather bag" also tricked me.
Follow my practice and practice; just doing and reciting Buddha's name.
Except all the grasping and the legal, the new wisdom opened. Wisdom has no form at all, cannot touch, hold it. However, if the wisdom is open, but I don't know, but whenever I see something, I can see through it thoroughly, knowing what to do right away. That is true wisdom!
Reciting Buddha's name must be coordinated with work. Reciting Buddha's name until the mind calms down, then you will be reciting yourself by reciting the name, one-pointedly then. When working, just keep reciting Buddha's name; and others don't know that we are reciting. Just work hard, do not start thinking or thinking about anything else, that is the one-pointed mind, also the Buddha's mind, in accordance with the Buddha's Way.
Only when there is mindfulness, what we manifest or do is compassionate; The viewpoint I have is also naturally mature and correct. This is also the mind of Buddha.
Question: Master said that we should not be attached. But if not attached, then how to do the job well?
A: "Not attached to work" does not mean negligence, neglect, irresponsibility, scandal, and negligence; nor is it networking, plugging neck plugs in excess; Which means that after you've done everything, nothing will happen.
When your heart is still paying attention, still afraid, worried about work, unable to let go; then that is attachment. When working in an attitude that is not attachments, it is good to do it. Regardless of attachment, the job will not be good; Because the attachment is lacking in wisdom, but working also requires Dinh-force, need to have concentration, attention too!
Do everything you need to use the mind, thorough reflection; Not everyone who says anything, I just follow the words in a rigid way (sentence, don't know how to flexibly manipulate).
Must have the ability to judge and discern; don't be like an ignorant dog, see people throwing a stone, he doesn't know what to throw and runs after him!
Any plan must be planned in advance; Don't have a sloppy scandal, let's do it through the rules!
Must handle the work and furniture in the temple appropriately and completely. Like planting a cluster of trees, if you don't decide in time to plant them in time, the tree will die; At that time, the fault is on you.
Use less of your mind - but that doesn't mean you don't think about the job, but what it means to be done, done!
Do not start the mind to distinguish (discuss, brag, complain ...), giving birth to all non-marketing (disputes, quarrels, reasoning ...).
As for work, it is like that; for others it is the same!
Already ordained, you must understand what it means to become a monk. You must be in control; Do not let others pierce your nose. What needs to be heard is heard; not worth listening, don't hear; smiling is enough.
Often see the brown shirt, touching the bald head, but alert yourself: "I am a monk!" If you do not, sometimes you forget, unconsciously let the mind run wild, no longer the heart of the renunciants.
When you wake up in the morning, immediately touch your head, asking yourself, "Why am I a monk?"
"Because willow will be reborn, because of the end of samsara!"
Practicing virtue is the most important thing.
At the temple to do? It is to cultivate virtue, cultivate the future of the item.
If you look at the things around Master, you will immediately understand. After listening to what you have to do, you must try to assemble, not to overhear the ears.
Young monks and nuns are in very bad sentiments. However, the body to become a monk the mind must also become a monk. Three career body, mouth, mind of the renunciation is completely different from the householder. You must know how to kill birth and death. The purpose of our cultivation, which we pursue, is to escape from the cycle of birth and death!
2. The Transcendent Path of the Practitioner
A. Before and After Life hours i
Not understanding the Buddha-dharma but having attained Precepts, it is very easy to give birth to a high-minded, self-conceited mind.
You do not blind blurry blurry ordained, then blind fuzzy life span. Tho Gioi is about praying for penance, not dragging the corpse, dragging the corpse back.
When in the Forum, talk less and talk less with other people (or fate). Whenever you have time, bow to Buddha, recite Buddha's name.
In the Forum, people who pray for precepts come from everywhere, so they are always crowded. Remember, I'm not here to compete with them to see who wears better, stays better, or eats better!
When going to the precepts, if you take it hard and be patient, then you will enter the Path.
Everything (in World-forums) is very simple; You should not compare with others to see who eats well, sleeps well, or how this or other things happen ... Tho Gioi is the time to learn majesty and rules; rather than discussing, speaking non-business, creating career.
After you have taken the precepts, you must be completely different from the time you took the precepts - take the precepts as a teacher, do more austerities, wipe them out, fix all the bad habits and eliminate all bad thoughts. evil.
You must always recite Precepts; Thus, there is no such thing.
If you have the Precepts, you will stop and hold them back, so it is not easy for you to do wrong and harassment.
Tho Gioi is long-suffering. When your ears hear people cursing or provoking you, and you don't mind it, it is Precepts.
"Precepts" are the inner precepts (restraining oneself), not the foreign precepts (restraining others).
Just when your heart has aroused an evil idea, you use the Precepts to stop it. That is called taking precepts as teachers.
Need to memorize Japanese Bhikshu-Ni and application every day.
B. Throw away fame and fortune
When you have not taken the precepts, because you don't know the rules, the precepts, you have committed the precepts; It was unintentional. Now have the precepts; understanding gender and breaking gender, it is intentional This crime is very heavy. After the Precepts, they must keep the Precepts, follow the Precepts and practice.
The Precepts are not the precepts of the three precepts (the burning mark on the head). Gender is in the mind. Therefore, when you know you have done something wrong, immediately repent. When you maintain the Precepts correctly, there will be no more generals (or notions) about men and women.
Having to take Precepts, they must take them into practice. Not having to finish the Precepts is to uphold the Venerable Dharma Master. There is no division between high and low.
There are many who go to the Precepts to learn more greed. When I came back to the temple, I became interested in enjoying, enjoying delicious food, dressing well, in a good place; I don't know anything about bravery and diligence.
In the Precepts, there is a clear teaching of all things, including that of an abbot. You have to study and read thoroughly, it is not easy to make mistakes; and later, if you become a deacon, you will do a good job.
Precept is to command oneself; Therefore, the bridge of penance is also About.
Hold Precepts, but don't go to extremes or attachments. If not, although I intend to hold the precepts, the result will be pushed away by the precepts. Because, observing the precepts is not born of defilements (making oneself or others afflicted, suffering) and does not conflict with others.
When you have your own generals, human generals (distinguishing the boundaries between you and me, mine and yours), you will most likely be at odds. To a monk's temple, not to fight, to argue. Monastics must be "ordained mass", in harmony with people; Well then, everyone is good.
Going to a monk's temple is not to dispute who is right and who is wrong. That attitude is secular, always dividing oneself and person.
Having ordained as a monk, there is no competition, no competition, no argument over losing, more or less, right and wrong ...; Those things are all "smell" of fame.
When the Venerable Master said, "The renunciants must not participate in the greedy greed. Because all the benefits will be harmful, therefore, they must not cultivate the desire for fame and goodness"; some people asked, "So now, how about Master's reputation resounding in the four seas?"
The Venerable Master replied, "I have no idea about it either, because they are all illusory. No one knows what is best for us!"
The questioner nodded: "That is the true meticulousness!"
C. This Mind
Now that you have renounced, but you are like in the immense sea, finding no way out.
The renunciants need to be omniscient (with no wishes at all) and be headless (not to get caught up in anything, work, or conception, mood or affection).
You have to cultivate nature; ie correcting temperament, bad habits; also tu tu-Tanh. Every person has a Buddha-nature; This Buddha-nature is the Dao.
You should depend on the nature of others (do not generate conflict), in harmony with people.
Renunciation is to treat the mind wandering like monkeys, fixing the mind running like a horse.
Monks must work at all times, recite Buddha's name to subdue the mind.
The renunciation should recite Buddha's name for many, not necessarily to just sit in Zen; because when elaborately Zen is not ripe, you are easily attached to the ghost.
The renunciants need to sacrifice themselves - who curses, humiliates, decry, torments, treats ..., you must be indifferent. We must wipe out all concepts of self ("I", "I") in order to practice well.
Already ordained already, you must clean your greed for eating, sleeping, staying happy; that way you practice to bless and favor. Don't be like a domestic man; full of attachment. The monk is one of the three jewels (the Triple Gem - Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha). Therefore, as a monk, you must cultivate well for good; but only frugally and simply can practice Precepts, Dinh and Hue.
The pagoda is a public monastery. Monks and nuns from other temples, if they keep the rules, they can stay at the temple to practice.
The virtue of renunciations is to cultivate in color, feeling, thought, onions, consciousness - Warm years; practice to make them all "no." Therefore, wear coarse cloth, eat rice frugally. This does not mean that you go on a hunger strike, but that it is good to eat enough and to be warm enough is enough; Do not be greedy, demanding.
About eating and drinking; For the renunciate, whoever gives what, cooks what they eat. Not to be attached, picky; Do not be gluttonous, like delicious. A little food, spoiled a little, but still eat. If you are greedy and enjoy good food, then your karma is not easily eliminated. If you still voraciously craving, samsara does not escape! In fact, what food if tested, it can also find toxins. When the masses eat something, you eat it is enough; Don't be frustrated or annoyed by anything.
Monks should never be afraid to die. Die to the West, the better okay!
Practitioners need to have the power of "turning everything into nothingness"!
Dressed on a piece of crockery, you have to cultivate to a place where there is no longer anything to be afraid of and bother about. No monsters, no worries about the matter; do not get involved in the mistress ... Everything, everyone is afraid to admit.
A. Thap Phuong Pagoda
At the temple, everyone can come and live to practice. Those who come to stay must keep the rules set by the temple. You must not consider the face of good and evil, then arbitrarily do as you like, want for anyone to stay, then stay.
When someone comes to stay in the temple, you must not be discriminated, compared, specialized in telling the bad stories and mistakes of that person. By doing this, you will make it difficult for cultivators. Just respect, follow the rules of the temple is enough.
Do not compare, distinguish who this disciple is, the other whose disciple is. Everyone who observes the Precepts and rules is the same. Everyone is a disciple of Buddha. If you clearly divide, "Teacher is the one who came from outside, I am Master's disciple in this temple ..."; then you are not a monk!
As a monk, you only need to practice in accordance with the Precepts. Whenever you cultivate properly, wherever you go you are also revered by everyone, even Thien, Long, Bat Bo also support, protect you, and every temple is your home!
B. The Misty Place
When you practice, you have to practice in the big temple (great spare-forest). Practicing in places with large crowds can then train to become talented people.
When you practice, you need to cultivate in a large, crowded temple. Because only in places do many friends know and learn from the bad points. The wicked people in the temple are all people who guide you so that you can improve. Most of the Masters came from cooking, growing vegetables, splitting firewood ... in the temple. It is the places where no one pays attention, no one takes it, that's the place for you to practice!
When you practice at the big temple, suffer miserably about eating, staying and wearing. Your eyes act as if they can't see, your ears act like they do not listen, just like an idiot. If so, then the Dharma protectors Vi-Da will definitely protect you. Later when you go anywhere, everyone sees you as Buddha respect. Then, if you want to build a temple, immediately there will be supporters immediately.
Today we have a good temple, an ideal ashram for spiritual practice; You should not have delusion, calculate where there is a better temple.
When your heart is not stable, there is no way you can practice!
Question: I want to leave from one temple to another, now there are three places; I don't know what the Venerable meant, what place is predestined for me?
A: Are you leaving because your mind is not safe or because the temple is not safe?
If your mind is not secure, even if you run to the West, you will not be secure.
When your mind wanders, feels uneasy, runs free, but you transfer it immediately, the mind will settle down. Therefore, keeping the Precepts is extremely important. As long as you keep the precepts clean, the mind will be pure. When your mind is not peaceful, look at everything you have self-Minister (clinging to the conception of yourself and your own); therefore you must look at every thing that is not us, nor is it ours.
To come to the West, you have to cultivate to a place where the mind is no longer in turmoil, that is, the delusion is no longer congested. When faced with anything, your heart has only one pure thought, that is the West.
The mind is not safe, so the thought is wandering forever. Therefore, you have to take your mind to be at peace; If not, then how to "an"? When your mind wants to run wild, ask yourself where it wants to run.
C. Study Visiting
In Taiwan there is no place to visit for study, so it is sufficient to study yourself.
Don't be restless, irritable, short-tempered.
Where is knowledge-goodness? In his heart!
When the rice is ripe, the head of the flower is heavy and bends downward; When rice is not ripe, the tops of the plants stand upright. (Those who understand the Dharma, who practice well, lower themselves down; and those who are new to the Tao always have high self-respect and cannot bend themselves.) because an excellent practitioner is seldom found, but you're afraid you also don't see where his excellence is. Therefore, visiting to study bad guys is also true; because you see their bad points, your faults, use it to be alert, to wake yourself up; ask yourself if you made the same mistake, and avoid making that mistake.
Participating in the study is to study one's bad and bad points. Did they make that mistake? We have to practice so we don't commit it! They do not practice the Dharma Precepts correctly; we have to cultivate the right Precepts!
You renunciate is for the purpose of austerities, so do not go out to learn more worldly. The things that the Buddhist-Academy-taught school is not necessarily Dharma-Buddhism-Buddhist studies, because it is always interspersed by subjects like Sociology, Economics, etc. If you stay close to environment like that, over time, your mind will not be able to escape secular.
When you come to Buddhism, shave your head to become a monk, see if you will be able to die or not; That's something you can't help but understand. As a monk, he still wants to learn to earn a degree, more knowledge; Try asking at school who taught you to wear a rough coat, eat a protein meal, let go of austerities?
Many monks have left the monastic life and went to study at the Buddhist Academy. After graduation, they only develop self-conceitedness, pride, and want to become Abbot. However, where do they rely on to "rule the masses", make people harmonious and happy to practice? They have no capacity to convert others; Nobody can stand them!
Therefore, monks must practically practice asceticism, recite the Buddha's name for many, and bless the two bhikkhus.
D. Relationship Between Fellow Practitioners
As a disciple, if you know that your Teacher has made a mistake, no matter how big, you should not tell others. Because, if you do that, it is also a mistake!
After listening to others talk about his teacher 's mistake, you bring those things that he heard and told to everyone, how much of his sins are attributed to you. Because it is a mistake to say bad things about fellow practitioners.
For fellow practitioners in the temple, you have nothing to be afraid of. Please respect, respect each other.
When you want to ask someone to do something, do not use the attitude of command (such as loudly, majestically, talking curtly), making them look like a father sending a child, a master sends me; because that is the attitude of the secular.
If you are a Taoist monk, you must take Buddha Dharma as a model (that is, use small, gentle, respectful words to ask them to work).
When brothers and sisters sit down together, you should discuss the Dharma. Don't talk about any other topics to avoid distractions. Do not engage in chatting, talking nonsense, wasting time.
When there are people who talk about Dharma, you should not intervene in mundane matters. If not, the more you say, the more off-topic. Moreover, when you talked secularly, you would mention eating, this food is delicious, the other food is bad, etc.
Both monks and nuns must divide the boundaries clearly. The living to the hundred years also have to be clear like that. Unless you have enlightenment, fruitfulness, get deep power-concentration; otherwise, you will be very easy to make mistakes, causing enough complex problems.
When monks and nuns talk to each other, they must not face each other, eyes to eyes. When monks and nuns need to exchange or exchange things, they must not touch each other's hands.
Master-initiate has Dinh-force; otherwise, I cannot let you get within a hundred steps. You don't have one tenth of mindfulness right now; Therefore, you are still in a very dangerous situation, so you need to pay close attention.
E. Patience
Tho Gioi means patience. If you can endure everything, then you will hardly violate the precepts.
You have to practice patience because rings are the root of cultivation. If you don't know how to endure, it is a waste of the monk's habit. You should never assume that everything you do is right (others are wrong); That attitude will make it difficult for you to cultivate your mind.
Based on patience, spiritual practice is the basic practice. As a result, you have the ability to touch other people everywhere you go. Therefore, practicing virtue of patience-virtue is virtuous; whoever sees you will be happy, and you can transform them.
After you have become a renunciate, you must consider patience as the highest, the number one. Those who say bad things, swear at, criticize, criticize you are all people who show you the way. Without them, you cannot improve, you cannot achieve.
Do not assume that these afflictions cause you pain and birth and hate them, bored them, consider anything you are not satisfied with, see anything thorny eyes, then you think: "Well, wrap the package to get away! already!" Song, know where to go well? It is also impossible to get married, because you know doing so is more miserable than that, what else is living in hell?
When being attacked, criticized, you should endure. Despite being unjustly trying to hold fast. You also have to thank people for being so lucky to be (criticized) like that.
When someone brings evil and sin to blame, falsely accuses you; You need to be patient.
Although you have the right to be slandered by other people, saying that you have wronged you, you should repent and apologize to that person (don't argue); because practicing spiritually is practicing in this place.
How to observe? You must contemplate such words as money; and when the other person spits bad words, it's like he is throwing money to you. If when those realms come and you don't have patience, don't know how to cultivate patience, you will only produce all kinds of afflictions and frustrations!
The assailant, the rebel curses you, you think he's ugly. Song, from the viewpoint of Dao, who is indeed someone who helps you; You must thank him. He brought money in the Pure Land to give you, you refused to accept, ran away again, crying loudly!
When something happens to you, you can also endure, then improve. Even if you are right don't argue. repentance, apologizing to people is enough. It is that you are accumulating merit for yourself.
Patience Bala is the virtue that when you are patient, you do not feel and do not think that you are doing patience, forbearance, not claiming that you are patient, and that you do not suppress, compress your mind (not to show inner anger); because that's all general appearance.
When patience, your heart has no feeling, do not see what happens; like when someone curses at you, you don't know they curse you; then it is true that patience-humiliation Ba-la-secret.
F. A Isolated Mindfulness
If you cannot bear the Dharma Assembly, then even though you are a monk, your mind is still wandering in the external environment, turning around according to the realm and external affairs; That is still very dangerous.
In the temple is also filled with Africa, black and white, beautiful and ugly. Those who are qualified think: "Wait for me to practice quite well, I will practice it again." Those who don't know will do bad things, and make more resentment toward the sheep. (The idea is to see if you can transform your surroundings.)
If anyone wants to harm you, you should think: "Maybe I used to harm him in the past; now I should not cause more resentment, but should save him."
Everything has cause and effect, even as small as a needle, a thread, a word - all have cause and effect.
Never practice obstinate.
Someone asked: My bowl was broken; is my rice bowl also going away? (I mean the broken pool, the reasonable price will not end.)
The Venerable Master replied: Don't be attached. If her bowl had been broken by someone, and there were people who resented it and wanted to take revenge on the other person, it was obviously just because of the bowl that she created resentment on the sheep, causing hatred for others!
When karma strikes, ignorance and disturbing emotions arise, if you don't have mindfulness then wrong-mindfulness will arise. Then, see everyone you also thorn eyes, frustrated; see what you are not satisfied. You just want to pack away in another temple; or you feel religious life tasteless, makes no sense, just wants to get it done.
Do you know? As long as you bring up a disturbing thought, you are wrong, no need to talk about whether you are right or not!
Don't look to see if people make mistakes. You have to light your heart, project your mind, reflect your reflection - see if you've done it well.
Cultivation is self-correction based on truth, not on others. Therefore, you must respect and respect the Three Jewels (the embodiment of truth).
Every being, everyone has a bad mistake; But every day he knows how to repent, to repent, to amend, then that's good. Whether it hatches from the egg, or is born from a fetus, from a damp place or from transformation - all have Buddha-nature. Many animals are very flexible nature, more than humans; However, the only crime is that they cannot speak for us to understand.
You are aware of your own evil, which is a very good thing.
As people, everyone is full of a disturbing belly; If you do not know the error then how to tu? Therefore, the amendment is from here, from this awareness that eliminates negativity. Otherwise, every day you stay the same, no change - eat, sleep, work, don't cultivate to enlightenment; then in old you are still the same, and your brain is full of troubles!
Your whole day is just full of bad thoughts, without any mindfulness; you don't think of colors (things that look like beauty, clothes, money, temples, rice soup ...), you also think of things that have no color (named without form like name, profit, pleasure, enjoyment, idea, thought ...).
Whenever you dispute, struggle, quarrel, calculate more than lose, your mind will not be at peace. Don't assume that others are wrong, you're right. They are not wrong, not at fault; that you yourself did not know how to practice. Just because your heart has afflictions, anger, discomfort, resentment, the new mind is not peaceful. Let things go by and they will disappear, and you will be mindful.
People say you are ugly, you are bad; You must not be angry, upset, uncomfortable. They say you are good, you are good; Do not be happy, highly inspired. In the bad there is always good, in the good is always mixed with the bad.
He who praises, strokes, raises you; that person is not a good teacher, not a master-teacher. Those who curse or curse you regardless of whether you are right or wrong; they are the masters. The moment they treat you badly is when they help you accomplish.
If you are being oppressed and mistreated, you think: "You despise me like that; but, I still practice to let them understand"; you are a person of character; And so, one day you will succeed!
You are right and y is wrong; Let him do whatever he does, assuming you're wrong. (Because you explain, no matter how much you argue, he doesn't listen; so what is the point of arguing?) That is that you know how to control yourself, not be moved by outsiders or things.
The realms that you come in contact with now are all the seeds you planted in the past, now they appear.
Seeing people at home wearing beautiful clothes (that is, a scene), some people thought to themselves: "How can I become a monk like this? Everything is not there, only wear these three rudimentary brown shirts. ... "; There was another who thought, "Oh! In this miserable Ta-Ba realm, only dresses so beautifully; what's so cool and strange?"
Many female believers, before they became ordained, stuffed with chalk, put on lipstick, eyeliner, and painted eyebrows ...; Now the girls are nuns here, no one else, look better!
Two people, one is ugly, the other is beautiful. She was ugly and knew she was ugly so she put on makeup, all makeup was good. But, the more makeup, the more ugly; not equal to natural!
Austerities need to have the capacity to endure - to suffer, to eat rice protein, to wear rough clothes.
At this time, the material world is plentiful, so easy to get what you want. Many things, due to advanced technology, no longer need to use limbs, so extremely comfortable.
As monks and nuns, you must observe and reflect on the examples of spiritual practice of the previous Patriarchs. Following in their footsteps, cultivating will end samsara.
I (Venerable) ordained as a monk not for the sake of enjoyment; I want to make things like eating, sleeping, and clothes so simple. I'd rather be disregarded by society, thinking that everything here can't be compared to people!
When socially respected, between them and us will generate affection, love, and then will lead to suffering to be separated; The result is a vicious cycle of samsara! When you are despised and despised by society, you will be less afflicted (like taking one, owning the other, associating with one person for another), less distrust (just think about it all) from one thing to another, not one thing after another, without end), and easier to devote to the work!
When the benefactor appreciates you, they make the offering. Therefore, you should have gratitude, appreciation, and properly practice.
As you dress modestly, frugally, dare to sacrifice themselves to work for the temple; outsiders looking at their friends will realize that: "These monks really touched me; they know how to give their lives for the Tao, for the temple ..." and naturally they want to make offerings to you. Thus, invisible medium, you have them, causing them to plant good roots in the field of merit. This is the propaganda of Dharma, so profitable!
A cultivator must endure hardship, not be attached to the concept of "I" and "mine", and then he will develop a habit of grooming beautifully, eating well, and wanting everything to be convenient. Comfort, affluence. Body dressed in clean brown shirt, grooming is sufficient; by the renunciation that live too happy, too enjoyment, no householder wants to make offerings! If a practitioner knows how to endure hardships and hardship, then the host will admire and want to make offerings. Life is just enough to eat rice, have warm clothes is enough.
The renunciation: foot pedal land of the credit contest, the sky's head of the contest, the body wears the benefactor shirt, mouths to eat rice donated, sleeps in the laboratory built. It is calculated that every day you cultivate one hundred merit coins. Whenever you start the mindfulness thoughts making your body and mind impure, then deduct thirty dollars. In addition, the cost of meals is worth thirty dong, the accommodation is twenty, the cost of dressing is fifty dong; a total of one hundred and thirty coins of merit. See, the spiritual merit you make in the day is not enough to pay these costs; So what merit do you have anymore? Credit owners indigestible offerings!
Want Sangha solemnity, myself must be dignified. Wherever I am, I have to be solemn. For example, when chanting Sutras, if people see monks and nuns extremely solemn, then naturally they will give birth to their religion, and they will no longer consider Buddhism a negative thing.
Bodhisattva is the level of being, so we have to extend good affinity with beings. Currently I am alive, when people come to see me, you must try to get along with them. See any believers, you should also welcome, greet; but do not be predestined (using emotional tricks to make private gain), do not pay high tribute, that "I am a monk, you are just at home!" You must understand that all expenses for daily activities such as meals, lodging, and wearing of mine are all donated by the benefactors!
When someone has a bad affinity with the benefactor, you must not be influenced by that person, making you also have a bad affinity with the benefactor. You must be able to discern right to left and right to self-control; because we need good conditions.
So say: "The Buddha, the first link to predestined"; meaning before he became a Buddha, first of all, he had to get along well with people.
When a follower returns to the temple, please use good words to treat them, invite them to bow to Buddha, eat rice, take a walk to see the temple. That is the good affinity, and also the way of practice. The most important thing is to not pretend to be noble, "I am the Teacher". That is not spiritual practice at all. Believers are cultivators, you are a practitioner, you must practice the Bodhisattva. Do not cultivate bad behavior; Must practice good gesture. When dishonest people come to the temple, you should not pay attention to him. Don't nag, don't curse at others forever. When we practice, we have to practice until we have wisdom; Now, whatever happens, you can see right away. At that time, you can speak freely. Once you have stood firm, others will therefore be happy to receive your word, and you will not create karma.
Believers bring offerings to the offerings, that is because they want to bless. Therefore, even though the object is as small as a blade of grass, you must be happy to receive it. If when you see them bring good things back to the offerings, then you are born greedy, then you cannot be enlightened. When someone brings in bad food, you bring it back to cook, then it is you who practice both blessing and wisdom! If you do not know how to handle it appropriately, on the contrary, blame the benefactor for offering spoiled food; it is your own affliction and self-created karma alone!
Whether family members or relatives come to the temple to eat, I should advise them to offer rice money to the temple so that they have the right concept (about cause and effect, karma.)
You should be diligent, love all beings; Think that they are one. The owner of the practice again cultivates good roots; we have to take the Bodhi mind and compassion towards them.
When someone is talking, don't interrupt or interrupt. Wait for them to finish speaking, let's talk; That's called being polite. When improvising, talking to the benefactor, you should only talk about Buddha-dharma. When they want to speak secularly, apologize and say, "I don't have time, please go to the Buddha's offerings, or take a walk." When meeting the bad guy, don't pay attention to him being the best; because if two coins hit each other then surely have to clink!
Relationship with people: in fact, they are just social. Therefore, when you approach them, your mind must be in control, there is always Buddha-dharma (enlightenment). Should not discuss secular life with the world. Please bring the Buddha-Dharma comparison.
Talking parallel jokes full of Buddha-Dharma will make the listener less disturbing.
Austerities that do not speak Buddha-Dharma, went to discuss the world; What is the duty of the monk? When a practitioner also talks about the worldly life, that is, he has not been able to practice air (mundane habits); then how did he qualify to say the word "austerities"?
Each teacher has a different fertility method; Therefore, you should not arbitrarily decry, criticize. Because if you do, you will have a bad influence on the Buddhist-Dharma beliefs of others. This has cause and effect!
Because we want to save sentient beings, we have to be consistent with other sentient beings, just as we deceive the child (because we want to save his life); but mostly for sentient beings to plant wholesome roots in blessed fields.
I am not asking for anything. Beings that see me are born happy; However, I myself did not know.
Whatever you do, you also have to be clear about the truth of that to lead and lead people. If we do not understand the truth, how to lead others?
At the moment, cultivators need to use the Buddha-dharma and truth to direct and educate sentient beings. Otherwise everything becomes secular; Not only can I not depend on anyone but I also lose my generosity!
Hoang France, profitability: this is not a mere talk. As long as you practice well, naturally when looking at you, everyone is happy and revered.
(For example, Venerable Quang Kham: He never went down the mountain, but many who admire and take refuge in Him are unspeakable.)
Hoang Dharma, profit means needing to sacrifice this body.
You must be a Bodhisattva. Not being able to give yourself well is enough, then ignore others. We have to consider other people as important, and whatever we are. Must benefit others. When you only benefit your own ignorance, your defilements will fill.
The renunciation took kindness as the root, took the means to use, took the great compassion as a body. All (every good root, every dharma door ...) are born of compassion.
Gia, such as collective temperament, habits, ignorance, afflictions, his bad seed. Quoc, such as the mass. I have to rule the country first, then the country after. That is, first of all, eliminate all bad habits, ignorance of your afflictions; and then bring virtue to inspire others, "mass rule."
Renunciation is a great filial. You need to repay the four great gifts (to the parents, to the benefactors, to the Buddhas, to the Teacher), and to save the three hardships (hell, hungry ghosts, animals). You will be freeing your parents for countless lives, not only parents for this life.
Monks' clothes cannot be worn by everyone. Only the blessed will wear it.
A monk, though he does not practice very much, only knows to be vegetarian, does not kill, has no great sins, then in the next life he can reincarnate and continue to practice. He will not fall into the three miserable paths or the four types of birth (born from eggs, from pregnancy, from damp places, or from transformation).
Question: When a monk breaks the precepts, commits immeasurable crimes, falls into hell, is he worse than a layman? Therefore, spending by practicing at home is better?
A: Being a monk is better! Although he (the renunciation) was lost, but when he suffered all the retribution, he could return to practice. Certainly then he also became a renunciate, because he had planted many healthy roots. (An outsider, if compared, is inferior to a renunciate breaking gender).
The radical, then after becoming a monk, he understands everything, can gather good points as well as bad points between monks and lay people. Some people can never meet that.
The reason you cannot see, cannot know the good points of renunciation, is because you still have karma. If that karma does not eliminate, then when you die, they will appear.
Looking superficially, the renunciants only know to eat three meals a day, doing something or that. In fact, renunciation is because to eliminate greed, anger, delusion and eliminate karma.
Someone said: Vegetarian teachers should say the allegation of a vegetarian; If everyone is a monk, what happens to society?
The Venerable said: Everyone who is a monk goes to life together to give birth to the World of Great Bliss in the West; Is that not possible?
6. One inch tall, Macau a ruler
The bad karma that we have created from many lives is as high as a mountain. At this time, when I become a monk, those bad karma can appear. Therefore, sometimes I feel that the karma after renunciation is much longer than when I was at home. At that time, I need to have strong strength to overcome. If we do not surrender to defilements, re-initiate the mindfulness, we will create new karma!
Monastic ordination is not trivial.
The renunciation is very much. When the plaintiffs, relatives, creditors (in the previous life) come to collect debts, we get sick or encounter all kinds of troubles. If we can not overcome it, there is no way to reassure us. Therefore, when you are sick, encourage yourself, and strive for yourself. Lord Buddha, if you recite Buddha's name more karma will dissipate.
Those at home look (at the cultivator's activities) but do not understand, so they are very miserable. For those who do not have solidified-mind, then he regarded life tu as life in hell on earth; He always felt that everything was not good and not free, and being disturbed much. Although there were many Tao-minded people who were more solid, but because of the bad seeds planted in many previous lives, although they listened to Master's teachings, they did not put anything in their hearts. The influence of the mundane world on them is still heavy, profound.
At your pagoda, you also see people from everywhere: who is this appearance, that appearance ... all. Young monks and nuns are still very heavy in the concept of love. When you see the couples coming, if the audience was moved by that scene, and then born desire, favorite, then you will stop the Dao-mind (austerities). If you recognize your favorite mood is sin, then there is the Dao-mind.
Young renunciants today are very dangerous. They are very susceptible to changes in introversion. Those half-life renunciants (that is already married), they have tasted the taste of life, so for the external scene, they are somewhat more self-control. However, if young people leave home and practice properly, then the wisdom will open and it is easy to achieve.
The woman lacks practice 500 generations. If you know how to cultivate, you can right away, this life is liberated. But do not take yourself too seriously: eating well is good, wearing warm is enough, do not need to sleep, do not sleep. Not doing so, only greed, disorder, and loss of Dao-mind!
Being born as a female body, the monk was ordained, met with the great Thien-knowledge, was able to stay in the ashram and was able to practice spiritually; You have to feel you're lucky! They should quickly cultivate and correct their temper, except for the evil thoughts, change the old misconceptions.
Taiwan is still good because the women can still leave home. Otherwise, I'm afraid that the women in society will only be miserable. Now the monks and nuns, if they still do not practice, know the next life, will they still have human bodies to practice?
Don't think that such nuns are very miserable, and then you will be hated by this and that you will be annoyed; thinking: "Well, let's go now!" Song, the girls go, but know where to go? It is also impossible to get married, because in the end, it only adds suffering like living in hell!
Many women have suffered from serious illness - emotional illness. You must not repeat the melodramatic love game that, like like sleeping together. (If she refuses to sleep with her, she is told she's not good to her). The girls have to sleep separately, a little separate. If you're persistent, that's the devil!
It is difficult for a woman to become a renunciate; Why are you asking to come and go for interviews, to learn and to do? Just need to learn yourself (at the start of the mindfulness, when there is greed, hatred, ignorance, arrogance, wrong view). The new teacher should go to study interviews!
They should try their best to avoid talking with men and teachers.
1 When Venerable Quang Kham (83 years old) wanted to enter nirvana, he said: "The nuns in Taiwan cannot suffer - suffering here refers to all kinds of suffering, such as making ascetic things patience, or when you are diligent in reciting the Buddha, prostrating to the Buddha ... and your body suffers, strength - you cannot bear hardship, there is no way to attain it! "
Chapter VII: Renunciation and At Home
Greed, attachment to everything in the world, you will forever reincarnate in four species (born from eggs, from the oyster, from the wet, from the transformation).
Everything in society is materiality, feeling, thought, action, and consciousness. When not ordained, everyone sowed all the seeds of the mundane world.
Everyone wants material enjoyment, everyone loves beauty; dress decent. The rich have the power to pursue those things; Those who do not have money, because of those things, dive after them.
Anyone who takes part in things of the bar, flavor, taste, contact and dharma will have samsara in the four species.
People are sexually deluded. Just because you want to eat delicious should kill to nourish your body. They do not know that to eat sentient beings means to eat themselves. Because, by eating a pound of meat, you are bound to pay 16 amounts; This is something you can't hide from. Therefore, a whole life, people have to pay debts, collect debts; life after life cannot escape from samsara. How much of the meat they ate was sometimes the flesh of sentient beings that had once been their parents. How can my mind be so impatient?
Those at home kill to eat meat; The sentient beings being killed are all their kin in many previous lives. "You kill me, I will kill you;" Just like that, there is samsara. The laypeople do not know, lack awareness, that if they do not have children, their lives will be miserable; lament to himself that he is not like the family of others, the children are full of houses. They do not doubt that, no children ie at least injustice, debt!
Filial piety with the Buddhas, the Patriarchs, is to be filial to their parents.
You should cleverly use all ways for your parents to understand the Dao. If they were sincere, at least they would be born to heaven.
As a monk, I must save my relatives and relatives. At a minimum, make them believe in Buddha, be vegetarian, not kill; that is why you fulfill your duty.
Grace parents born to great education, if not ordained, it will be difficult to repay this gratitude. That is because between parents and children inherent resentment and intimacy woven from generations.
The renunciation wants to repay the four great gifts, you must save your parents, causing them to die. But parents do not have to exist only in this life; but parents have many generations before, I'm too surprised I don't know that. If you don't practice, how can you understand that in your previous life you had so many parents? But do not be afraid to miss your parents; relive those memories are samsara!
As a parent, everyone wants their children to get married, have children, just like them - a life filled with love, suffering, brain. If you, the austerities, love those things, then you will be spoiled for playing that drama. These are "plays" that you can act very naturally, without having to learn how to be polite, mean, honest, and wholesome. When you are lost as a creature, you will act more naturally!
The better your parents are with you, the more they will have grace and affinity with you.
The viewpoint of a cultivator is very different from that of a person: The more parents love you, the more they die, they will not let you go. But nevertheless, you should not be so upset, blaming your parents.
Be devoted to the Dao practice. Otherwise, you will fall in love, hate, suffering from the distance you love; then, therefore, is caught up in the cycle of birth and death. It is very dangerous!
Do not be attached to (attachment to) your parents, relatives, and brothers in this life. They are all creditors, who have resented to you from previous lives.
Each person is born of a cause and effect; and because of cause and effect, he died. His parents and relatives are all in samsara; Therefore, we must hurry to practice spiritually to save them.
We should be born for karma, but we won't die because of karma.
Must cultivate - on the temple four great gifts, under three degrees of suffering. Themselves have to practice to liberate the new place to achieve.
My parents were born but they didn't know where we were from. Now I must find the path of birth and death from which I came; means we must escape samsara.
In my life, I only eat three meals a day and drift along the stream of life and death.
People all day busy working are just because the pursuit of fame, position, because they want to enjoy the gym, eat well, wear nice, stay happy.
Practitioners who work are also for inner training. Therefore, the work does not need too much, should not be rushed; nor does anyone need to praise him; no pursuit, desire anything. Only wear the Western Western bliss suit.
For cultivators, the realm or external environment is worse, the better. The practitioner spreads as much suffering as possible. That is the difference between a practitioner and a person.
The laypeople have suffering but the renunciants also have suffering. People in misery are because they do not have insight; who is ordained because he wants to be rebirth, wants to come out of samsara.
Everyday people go back and forth to pursue things, colors, names, realities, lobes (money, beauty, fame, eating, enjoying or sleeping), and always being polluted by the external environment. mentality; Absolutely not own yourself.
A cultivator needs to wash away those dirty structures. Whether tu life is struggling, but peace of mind, lucidity is enough.
When I was in my life, everyone was chasing after the superficial things. Having money is happy, not money is miserable. So calculate every way to make money. Then, when the desire for rebellion arises, the nature of the mind will kiss soothingly, just like a drunkard. Everything in life is not out of pursuit, desire; Everyone is foraging for a living.
Therefore, the renunciant must always generate righteous thoughts, reflect the truth; I have to say the Buddha's Dharma so that I can be liberated.
Practitioners should not be greedy to eliminate negativity, anger, delusion. Should not be like life style: eat, you must eat well, sleep, you must sleep enough.
A monk calls himself "poor" (poor monk), because if the life is as simple as it is, the more spirituality he or she has, the more prosperous and richer! If it is not, let greed exist, refuse to eradicate; then even though you say you are austere, but delusion, defilements from that greed still rage.
The renunciation and the life are very different. Practitioners do not say "true" or "incorrect"; because "yes" they also receive, and "incorrect" they also receive. Just like that, you cultivate patience and patience, then slowly you will eliminate the self.
Being in the middle of the society and cultivating (referring to the home), it is not easy to cultivate. Because the pressure of others will make you agree to follow them; If not, they will attack you. Therefore, monks and nuns are easier to practice.
When you've been through the turbulent life, then come to the temple to step up to austerities, to be forbidden, you are easy to get along with others.
Deliver confidence, saying, "I absolutely have to become Buddha!" Saying that means that you have the intention to become a Buddha, then you have the motivation to make yourself diligent in your religious life.
Don't always boast about yourself, because the ego will hinder cultivation.
In real life, you like to wear beautiful clothes, but when you enter the temple, those things are no longer appropriate. At the temple, you wear clothes that no other person wants to wear. Your hot-tempered, angry habit must be modified a bit. Just cultivate, then you will feel through everything.
Renunciation: mindfulness. In real life: there is no mindfulness.
Religious practice and different life.
The life of people is exactly like day dreaming, but at night is also a dream, dreaming of samsara.
People in the world can enjoy pleasure, go out somewhere, it seems like a lot of happiness. But when the fun is over, the mind is reeling with all sorts of delusions and troubles; The mind is not pure.
Those who practice clothes, food and shelter are not happy at all, but once they have done everything they can sit down to cross with their stills, recite the Buddha's name, practice the religion, be mentally pure, and not be afflicted, which can lead to mindfulness.
Although clothes, lodging, and eating are not well-off, we practice purity, but we practice. When your mind has no problem with everything, everything; every day is like that; it is a pure place. The world can only live in the place of Pentecostal, wicked.
Many people hope their children have many friends and boys, then they are happy. But children to parents are not polite, but parents are also very easy with children. If the monk but secular habits, like to make many friends, then later there will be many "plays" for them to perform again!
In life, most children depend on their parents, so they don't know how big the sky is. When renunciation is surrounded by brothers and sisters; Those who are responsible for fulfilling their duties, but also have to take care of the assigned work. Therefore, everyone has an independent nature.
Being a monk is worth it. Because if not, I just stay in society, get married, have children, even die till I can't let go, and I won't be able to go serene!
People take suffering for pleasure; When he was old, he was afraid of death, and did not let go of his children.
Although we renunciate austerities, but if we do, both recite the Buddha's name, then we will be able to meet all of the six paths of samsara for many days. Then, I will be happy to have been ordained.
If you recite Buddha's name enough, enough, wisdom will enlighten you, you will enlighten; I will not be afraid to die because I have a World of Ultimate Bliss in the West.
Your karma is piled up like a mountain; If you don't become a renunciate then you have no feeling about it. Those who lack knowledge in real life always go on the path of creating karma. The monk then went the path of finishing karma, heading straight to the World of Ultimate Bliss.
The ancients taught: "One inch of ethics, nine inches of ghosts" (ie the Tao is few but many ghosts or karma). Therefore, the more a practitioner steps forward, the more evil thoughts and bad habits will emerge from many previous lives. At that time, the more you have to suffer more and more to slowly dissolve the karma. Until death, the golden lotus will appear to take you to the West.
People do not understand how to understand it, so they keep chasing identity, sound, flavor, touch, and dharma every day. But when they came to pass, and when Satan appeared to arrest them, they would not go, nor could they go.
Now that I don't become a monk, then when I am old I am like my parents: full of disturbing emotions, then falling into samsara. Therefore, renunciation is a must! You should not be attached, not to learn the example of the one who went first!
Chapter VIII: Our Realm of Birth
Hope has no master. Buddha (new level) master (mind).
Practicing how to cultivate as old as monk is not afraid. Whenever you want to die, just close your eyes and sleep. Every night we sleep like a dead body, not knowing what happens around us. When I wake up in the morning, I open my eyes and immediately begin the process of attachment; look at this as 'mine', see that as 'mine' ...
You cannot see things invisible, formless; so there is no interest, not like them. Therefore, you only want to pursue things that look good.
When your parents give birth, you don't know anything. When you grow up a little, you 'sticky dust', clinging to the concept of self. Whenever there is attachment to the concept of self, there will be defilements immediately. Nevertheless,
'Once upon a time, no thing,
How to get naked? '
Those in heaven see us as identical to the black maggots, which are in the toilet. Buddha Amitabha Buddha issued 48 great vows to continue his journey to the World of Bliss; but I still insist on attachment to the realms of Ta-Ba, giving misery is fun, just like some black maggots (for unclean toilet is full of interesting places)!
I think the toilet is unbearably foul, so I want to pick up the maggots and drop them in the clear water. But those maggots are more attached to the toilet than dirty, rather than die, but they won't go anywhere!
People learn to do bad things very easily; It is very difficult to learn to do good things!
Four species of beings when they eat and then sleep, the mind is always scattered.
Straightforward people open their minds to wisdom.
Each person's personality is very important.
Good temper, gentle, where to go also be sociable with people, depending on others. But there are limits depending upon the agreement; because for those who do bad things, we cannot follow them freely, but must be steadfast in our stance and principles of action.
Man himself is not evil; only habit, qi practice is bad. Everyone has bad habits, except they are few. You just need to be mindful of the Path of Taoism to be sufficient. As long as you can forgive, forgive right away. Never give people are bad.
Mr. A has a habit of smoking, everywhere he goes he fumes smoke. Mr. B has a habit of being suspicious, always having doubts and all that. Once A smoked in front of B. B was angry, suspected that Brother A was contemptuous of himself; The two are born quarrel, conflict. Fortunately, Mr. C knows the habits of the two of them, so he comes to reconcile; prompting the two sides to revise and quit smoking habit, quit suspicion.
Therefore, the bad habit that we are not aware of to correct ourselves is only causing trouble for others. Doubt only harms us, obstructing cultivation. When you see anyone in conflict, conflict, then you do not pour oil into the fire to make things more trouble; but always find a way to reconcile!
Some people criticize, criticize, or speak ill of others. In fact, he did not understand what his job was wrong, nor did he intentionally criticize, say this or that. It is only because of the bad habit that he has been practicing since countless previous lives that motivated him, which made him involuntarily do so.
In the past, there was a person, when he talked to anyone, he always looked sideways and glanced at him, acting mysterious; make others look at him and they feel like he's talking ill of someone. Actually, that's not it! That is just a bad habit.
Therefore, whatever you do, you must be free and natural; If not, you can bring all sorts of useless troubles to your body!
Formerly in Mainland China (China), the more one tried to practice, the more radical, the more challenging. There are people who intentionally use enough unreasonable attitude to oppress and provoke them. Or someone who saw him almost complete a certain work then vandalized to collapse collapsed. However, it is necessary to see how the person's roots are then challenging. If the test does not have the basic basis, the bravery, then will be born negativity.
In Taiwan, it is difficult to challenge anyone. Because most of the nuns come from the cozy home of their parents, used to being nasty; so for them, only the whole world method is required.
In the past, some Master wanted to try to see the diligent practice of disciples. He told his disciples to bring their sandals back.
He who has a base and wisdom, kneels down; then Master mercifully taught. Foolish people do wear sandals right away. And whoever has no inborn quality is immediately angry, born of affliction; that Master was wrong, intentionally making him unhappy.
When someone who has an inborn ability to hear you talk about him (criticizing, criticizing, yelling at him), he knows that this is exactly what Master is teaching him; therefore, he knows how to pray for penance.
When the injustice heard you talking about him, he immediately argued, asking why you dared to mention him; and then he was born angry, afflicted. He will think of his parents' cozy home, which is to eat well, dress well, go to school ..., the old tons of drama that will make him fall in samsara forever.
Whenever anything comes that we awaken to, we are fully enlightened. Who does not have the basis of what the (contrary to the will, left hobby) to y, y were born negativity, frustration.
Those who do not have the root of power are afflicted in great numbers. Although you intentionally explain, he could not understand.
Except for defilements, mindfulness (right thinking with truth or Buddhism) does not show money.
Only know how to eat and drink but do not know how to practice.
Why do people reincarnate? Because Seven Love (seven emotions or psychological state), the Five desires too heavy.
When charmed by Lovelorn and Five Lust, all day long people only chase money, beauty, fame, dignity, eating, enjoying and sleeping. Defilements also follow that birth, and then create all kinds of karma.
Do not assume that there is no reincarnation. Have! Very miserable!
In the past, Han Son and Thap Dac (incarnations of Bo-slap Van Thu and Pho Hien) saw people getting married, clapped their hands and laughed, saying: 'You see the bridegroom marrying his grandmother. is not? Look, they eat you and their aunts! '
The others heard that, and scolded them, saying, 'The Venerable is crazy! Bad talk!'
But when Mr. Han Son called the name of a pig, the pig ran to him immediately: confirmed that there is reincarnation already!
Those who like to be beautiful, wear high heels, then later (the retribution of that temperament) he will naturally reincarnate as a horse, no need to wear shoes at all!
A person who keeps eating well will have a deep brain, want to sleep. Whenever you sleep too much, the latter (retribution) will make it a snake's body.
The buffalo, although working so hard, does not know how to escape suffering. Being a buffalo body is karma because previous lives as officials (public servants, state employees) are not pure and incorruptible (bribery), so this life must repay the debt.
There was an official, and then brought the money (earned from doing unrighteous work) to flee abroad. In the end, he had to pay the retribution and reincarnated as a buffalo in Taiwan.
'A life as an evil official,
Nine lives as debt debt.
The buffalo has two horns, and the tiger also has to abstain from fear. Gradually one day the buffalo will also understand. As buffalo plowing now, is also helping me.
When someone does something good, you agree and agree with him. But when you do not do well and you also become, then your guilt will multiply.
Know the white paper (you can write). Whenever a piece of paper is written in a classic script, do not throw it in the trash; should burn it. This is also a virtue.
Keep the words written on paper or shirt; Even a small word, you have to keep it. Embroidery letters on shirts should be cut and burned, do not throw them in the trash. Know how important the word is (the retribution) to read. That is such a virtue!
Once upon a time, the ancient people taught Chinese respect, hospitality, ceremony, meaning, integrity and wholesale; thus producing many saints. Nowadays, no one teaches such virtuous morals anymore, so the times are chaotic. Therefore, for these scriptures and teachings on ancient morality, we must cherish them.
Good things that you don't know how to use properly, properly (don't know how to preserve, maintain), and then spoil it; then it's your fault. You have to suffer the consequences or retribution.
When handling, deciding to perform, or carrying out any task, you have to be very careful, because everything is causal. For example, the leftover food that you throw away or let it rot, you have to pay for it. Cause and effect are not wrong, and no one can bear your retribution:
The life and death of everyone is worried; Rice, whoever eats it is full!
There are good things, do not make it damaged. (Don't deliberately spoil; don't neglect, be careless, lack of sense of responsibility; or refuse to learn the right way to use or maintain it; don't neglect, scare, disrespect, don't value material arbitration.)
Buddha, Bodhisattva, Arhat, Heaven, People, A-Tu-La, Hell, Preta, Animal, are all made by people. Anyone who practices properly leads to a good birth; tu scandal, breaking the Five Precepts, then fell astray evil road.
Difficult to be human; It is difficult to hear the Buddha Dharma. Now being human, must try to practice properly.
Those in heaven enjoy the merit, but when they start a bad idea, they will be lost. For us, if we have sinned, we only need to sincerely repent from our hearts to be pure like innocent people. The Human Realm is the best realm of spiritual practice: to hear the Buddha Dharma, to know how to cultivate.
When a bad idea arises, if you haven't said it and haven't followed it, then you can repent in your heart, refusing to repeat it.
Question: It is difficult to keep karma for purity, because of the bad habit of infection, accumulated from beginningless life, now encounter bad conditions so naturally arose. When the bad thought arose, I immediately repented, did I have to suffer from bad retribution?
A: The notion of evil is just thought in the mind, if there is a penance, there is no bad retribution. If the bad idea has been manifested in the mouth (verbal action), or we have already practiced it (the karmic body), then there will be retribution. Every second we have to repent; having the mind of repentance, a new good idea will arise.
Tell the practitioner to see what their inborn quality is like before speaking.
For example, to someone who has an inborn quality, he says: 'If you have sinned, you can repent. Crime created by the mind, so be sincere and repent. ' So then the other person although guilty, but y can repent and then return to purity: no more recidivism, mindfulness of the Chief Justice.
For those who have no root, I say that is not okay. Because teaching them that way, they think that just being guilty creates sin, and the mind of repentance is finished right away! Therefore they are forever unable to sincerely rectify their mistakes, even if they repent forever!
There are exceptions to the rule, not an offense. You must study carefully to avoid misunderstandings.
If you accidentally made a mistake, you can repent. Deliberately making the mistake of not being able to repent. Repenting a crime must not exceed three times (that is, not to be repeated more than three times).
As for karma, we are not afraid of the arising of evil thoughts: we are only afraid of awakening and recognizing it slowly. Therefore, as soon as initiating evil thoughts, they must immediately repent.
Once you have made a mistake, you must always admit: 'I made a mistake'; that 'I ask for repentance'; that 'Please teach me.' Do not be born of defilement, then all will fall to the Prime Minister, and there will be no evil notions arising.
The more one practices, the more he always feels that he needs to repent.
If you know how to practice, pray to Buddha a lot, pray for repentance, broadly grow good roots, then you know when Maitreya will be born, you can be your disciple!
Big fish eat small fish. Humans are like big fish: eat anything, even tigers eat it; Therefore, the karma is deep and deep. If you are not clever in repenting your heart and bowing to the Buddha for many, then by the time Maitreya is born in this realm (that is to say, it takes a very long time), you don't have any good root.
Teachers today and in the past are very different.
During the Han Dynasty, teachers respected ethics, ceremony, meaning, integrity and wholesale. Today, teachers themselves do not finish (not enough virtue). Buddhism today is far inferior to the old days.
In the past, everyone respected the ceremony, meaning, integrity and wholesale; Therefore, only the Saints appear.
Nowadays none of these things are valuable, so society is increasingly chaotic. Therefore, we must have the attitude of respect for the scriptures.
In the old days, an artist could paint an image of the sun just like the real thing, so people could bring the rice to dry under the picture! Someone painted a bird so vividly that he could really fly! The reason they did so was by cultivation.
Who can paint a real flying bird today? Everyone depends on machine engineering or processing chemistry!
Currently, Buddhism-Buddhism in the world is generally spread the Dharma, spread. However, although Buddhism is so popular, it is very difficult to find a true spiritual practitioner. Some also come to the Dao soon, good dwellers are quite good; but the renunciation is still few.
Once upon a time, at a temple on the mainland of China (renunciation), ordination was not easy. As soon as you become a monk, you have to do manual labor in the temple for a while (hard work such as plowing, hoeing ...), and then being allowed to do light works in the temple.
In Taiwan (China), renunciation is very common, very common; and most of it is based on the academic background that makes the ordination
In the mainland, in the past, renunciation was to get rid of samsara: therefore, to practice hardship, to study the asceticism of Buddha, Bodhisattva to cultivate oneself. In Mainland China, the renunciant has to work hard labor (asceticism) for three years; Only after suffering can you be freed!
This person and the old people are far different: the ancients, Dao-mind have ten parts; People in this life, Dao-mind only part.
People at home or ordained in this life have fun and very well. When life is too happy, there will be many accidents. Attachment to identity, sound, flavor, taste, contact, and dharma will also be greater.
Eat protein rice, wear rough clothes: practice is to stay here and use the labor. But now, everyone is researching how to eat well and wear good clothes. All day busy because of all that. We vow to destroy the karma, now turn into the loss of good fortune; then the bad karma will follow.
Once upon a time, rice, soup, and vegetables were simple - just put them into the boil to finish (called La-Han Thai). Now everyone is paying attention and fussy eating so much that the monks and nuns eat better than the secular people!
In the past, in mainland China, monks in temples wore robes (burial cloth) dyed gray; eat porridge liquid as water (so that the dishes do not need to wash thoroughly), plus a bit of simple food; It's not like you can eat white rice now, there are enough dishes, many dishes like that.
Pagodas in China in the past, whoever left furniture indiscriminately, the pagoda gathered, confiscated, regardless of whose. If you want to find what you lost, you must go to the Teacher-Manager.
At the pagoda in China in the past, when someone made a mistake, the Teacher-Manager did not need to talk at all, but just wrote his name on the notice board; he can read and automatically leave the temple immediately.
Today, the Manager-Manager comes to say that your mistake (to invite you to wrap up), you (not only do not listen) still argue with him; What a mistake!
Being self-disturbing being, by itself must be opened. Bring Master's instructions to apply.
Master-declares so much, now see how your life is maintained.
Those who know how to listen and understand help. Guys who don't know how to listen and tell are useless
Listening to lectures, it is not a question of hearing more or listening less, but rather to see whether to listen in or not (the mind). After listening to the mind, you must know how to apply it.
You heard Master's testimony very well. Song or Master is good (but not good friend). Still needing you to practice.
You prostrate me as Teacher; I teach you Buddha Dharma. When I am no longer in the world, you have to follow this Dharma and practice, then the Tao-mind is solid, the path of renunciation is full.
When you studied the Dharma, you heard Master telling a sentence to yourself, so how could you enlighten yourself and recite it. No need for words. When the words are many, you are still turning.
Question: After Master passed away, what should we do if we remember Master?
A teacher (Master Truyen Van) stated: 'It is the Buddha-nature of Master who speaks Dharma, enlightens us; not his false body. Remember to think of Him, then develop a strong mind, diligent in spiritual practice! '
My words are directed at you. Don't think that I say bad fault of your own or someone else, and you are born of sorrow, frustration.
If you are at fault then admit yourself, repent, reflect, modify your character and behavior.
Just often attached to the attachment is easy to cause afflictions. You have afflictions, then influence, make others also frustrated, and then the mass are rebellious. So how does 'popular rule' make people harmonious? I have to fix myself, go ahead, then later rule the country and fix people.
Whoever has a direct nature, though the words are not pleasant, not easy to hear very well, but you do not think evil words. Some people talk very well, but the mind is not good at all. Therefore, you must pay attention, must understand throughout the psychology of mistress.
Sometimes the one who intuitively says the words doesn't mean anything, but the listener is crooked, twisted, distorted; Even think he thinks too complicated!
Do not listen indiscriminately. Don't listen to this and listen to each other and then don't know who is right and who is wrong. When your mind is not self-employed, it is easy to become disarrayed, provoked, born of afflictions.
Listen must know how: to listen to the Dharma, not to listen to mundane stories.
Listening to the Dharma is liberated, there is no more self, there is no 'I'. Listening to mundane stories means that there is a story of nonsense, giving rise to a self (there is 'me', there is 'you'; there is 'right', there is 'wrong'). That is a bad seed, later difficult to eradicate.
True words, you should hear. Words that are not truthful, which you hear, can cause bad effects for others, and you have to bear the consequences of retribution.
He who hears, then only one or two words he understands immediately; No need to be cumbersome.
In the past, some teachers taught sutras, they all saved a part for the listener to learn for themselves and the assembly. They do not lecture, nor tell lengthy fairy tales.
Guys based on what you say is what he heard immediately. Who does not have the base, when listening to you talk, he immediately chat, babbling non-stop.
On your own, you must enlighten your identity. Listening (lecture) is just the realm of Lu Chen.
Question: Every day of reciting mantra, prostrate to the Buddha, practice more Dharma-Hoa Tam-Muoi, but the mind is still wandering and sundry is why?
A: I don't have control over myself. Dedicated to reciting the Buddha's name, reciting the precepts, and bowing to the Buddha is enough!
The more you work, the more love you become attached to, the more insecure your mind is. Don't be attached to the good or good of others. Who has the base, when looking at the evil of people, he knows how to apply (avoid making the same mistake) to cultivate more. Those who are not capable will only produce more afflictions.
Want to concentrate, very difficult. Therefore, you must find the mind of undying being, do not seek things to kill outside. We need to find what is now available to us. Everything that can be heard, seen, outside, has nothing to do with us (the true nature).
The form of Bhikkhu-Khưu is the form of Buddha. Whenever you see Bhikkhu-Khưu coming, you should immediately join hands to greet and prostrate. There is no need to discriminate, assess whether one teacher is practicing and the other one is not practicing.
Knowing chanting, knocking, hitting the bell is very natural; There is no need for mind learning. When wisdom opens, you naturally know how to do it right away.
In the Three Religions (Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddha), Confucianism teaches morality, ceremony, meaning, loyalty, and filial piety. Although the Taoist teacher also teaches Taoism, he does not teach Buddha-justice (the truth to save the truth), so does not liberate. Finally, only inductive to the Buddha-subject of Pure Land (of Buddhism), pray to rebirth, will be able to escape birth and death.
Buddhism and Taoism (Taoism) are very different. Practicing Buddhism is because of the birth and death. Tu Tao Taoism is for everlasting life. However, even if living up to a hundred thousand years, it still does not have to be the end, because it cannot escape samsara.
In Taoism, there are also many cultivators who are very diligent, attesting to being La-Han (such as La-Dong-Tan, Han-Chung-Ly); but their Arhat relatives don't have to end. The La-Han in Buddhism, the paragraph has been two-or-and-private idea (Kien and Tu or two delusion of vision and the mind that makes you do not see the Buddha-nature. This delusion is very profound because it has been formed and nurtured for many generations by the polluted habits and strains that mistakenly possess the 'self' and the ten thousand things), transcending samsara. In Taoism, many of the La-Han relatives didn't have to die, sometimes they lived in the mountains for hundreds of years.
We need to cultivate in essence to liberate samsara. Therefore, we need to give up, don't be afraid of this body suffering.
