Ordinary people who have not attained enlightenment can still be reborn in the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha.

This is not because we are great practitioners or we have been practicing it, but because we are dependent on the merit, energy and compassion of  Amitabha Buddha  for enlightenment. enlightenment of all sentient beings.

If we ordinary people only pray for good things for ourselves, then the Bodhisattvas take the vow, saying, "After attaining enlightenment, I pray that it will benefit all sentient beings." love is reborn in the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha. " Due to the strong will of  Buddha Amitabha , the Pure Land rebirth conditions became easier for all sentient beings.

However, we cannot die in the Pure Land if we rely solely on the will of Buddha Amitabha only, surrendering to Him completely and rest assured to do nothing. If so, the law of cause and effect is no longer true. For example, if someone has worked hard to cook a delicious dish, but you have not put in the effort to bring the food to your mouth, then of course the dish cannot enter your mouth for you to enjoy the taste. its delicious. A delicious dish is the result of both the meticulous cook and the fact that you have to eat it, have to put food in your mouth.

1. Not guilty of five enemies

The Buddha Amitabha taught that sentient beings who do not commit the five contradictions can die in the Pure Land. The five contradictions include the following five crimes:

Kill father

Kill mom

Kill Arahantship (an enlightened being) or master

Causing the Buddha's body to bleed (or directly damage the Buddhas)

Breaking up the Sangha (causing friction, loss of harmony in the sangha and spiritual traditions).

2. Not defaming the Fa-rectification

If you defame or distinguish Buddhist traditions, vehicles (different "chariots" or means of transmitting the Dharma) in Buddhism, especially if that is not the tradition you practice, It is a serious crime. Because this deprives many people of the Dharma practice. It is inconsistent because on the one hand you pray to be born in the Pure Land of  Buddha Amitabha  to practice according to His teachings, on the other hand you disrespect the Dharma, which causes profound misunderstandings for people. other.

If we don't commit these crimes, then the most trivial sentient beings like us, both doing good deeds and creating negative karma as we sometimes lie (however, not the serious lie), drink one a little alcohol, but sometimes we practice the proverbs, we still have a chance to die in the Pure Land if we meet the necessary conditions. The chance of rebirth in the Pure Land is not due to the accumulation of many kusala kamma but because of the great devotion and virtue of Amitabha Buddha's intensive practice through countless lives until he attains enlightenment.

3. arouse strong bodhicitta

That means that you vow to die in the Western world not for your own liberation. Or with narrow, selfish thoughts, you don't want the people you hate to be reborn in the Pure Land. On the contrary, you need to pray for all sentient beings to be reborn in the Pure Land of  Buddha Amitabha , to receive his teachings and to attain enlightenment. Because if we are reborn as human beings, we may or may not be predestined to attain Dharma and will have to experience countless sufferings.

4. The strong will of mind turns to Amitabha Buddha and his pure land

The mind of the city and the power to visualize the Pure Land of  Buddha Amitabha while practicing is very important condition. Buddha Amitabha taught that when we remember, think of Him, pray to Him, He listens and understands our hearts. Practicing visualization helps you become familiar with the existence of the pure land. For example, there are some children who do not like to listen to the Dharma, but their parents keep bringing them there. They may not mind, but they still have a physical body, which makes them forced to sit at the teaching site. But when he dies, his body no longer exists. Spirit can travel wherever it wants. At that time, if the spirit did not believe in the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha, even if he came, the spirit would not have followed. After death, we have no body so the consciousness will not be hindered by the physical body.

Therefore, at the time of death, if the consciousness starts to desire to go to the Pure Land of  Buddha Amitabha , the consciousness can get there immediately in an instant. The more we practice the contemplative contemplation of the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha, always thinking about this vengeful realm in life, certainly when we leave the four elements, we will be able to think immediately. to this realm that is reborn. For example, when you only think about having to go shopping, you will surely do it one day. Because the mind controls all activities of body and speech. Similarly, if we always contemplate the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha, we will know for sure where we go when impermanence strikes.

Certainly the mind has strong powers that lead us there. If we begin to have doubts about the existence of the Pure Land, in the event of a predestined existence, even if we hear the Dharma for 500 years, the lotus we have been born in will never bloom for us. met with Amitabha Buddha.

That is the second reason why we need strong mind and the power to visualize the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha in the West of Ultimate Bliss.

5. Dedicating merit

Every time we do a good deed, we really need to dedicate the merit to accumulate good karma. Karma is like an energy source that can be used for any purpose. If you pray to be rich, you will become rich but that prayer does not help lead you to the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha. That is why we so need to dedicate merit. You need to orient the karmas you create in order to be reborn in His pure realm. For example, when offering a lamp, make a vow to dedicate the merit to offer this lamp to the Buddhas so that you and all sentient beings at the time of death will not be bewildered, disoriented in the dark. The darkness of the intermediate body, so that the wisdom light of the butter lamp will guide you and all sentient beings to the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha.

Always understand that if you were reborn in the Pure Land of  Buddha Amitabha , with your help, along with the White Mother, Padmasambhava, and countless Buddhas, you will have the opportunity to receive teachings. Dharma, the spiritual nurturing practice for the benefit of all sentient beings. Therefore, let us dedicate all the accumulated merit to be reborn in the blissful, vengeful Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha. Every day, make the vow that, "I pray to be reborn in the Pure Land for the benefit of all sentient beings and to attain enlightenment soon to lead them to the Land of Ultimate Bliss".
