Item I

Almsgiving
(Seamlessapàramità)

I.1 Akitti's Bodhisattva [1]
( Akitticariyam )

1- During the time of [2]  four A period ago and a hundred thousand lifetimes, all things [3]  that Bo-slaps done for the purpose of enlightenment.

2 - Not to mention the virtues that have been performed by Bo-slaps in many past lives, Tathagata will refer to the qualities performed in this life. Hey Sariputta listen [4] .

3 - After the Tathagata entered [5]  in the jungle and lived in a clearing [6] , there [7]  lived as a hermit named Akitti.

4 - After that, the King of heaven Thich Thich [8]  (his throne) was warmed by our virtue, who approached me to ask for real things in the name of a Brahmin.

5 - Seeing this Brahmin standing at my door [9] , with the container (for food) Tathagata collects forest leaves to donate this taste, without oil and salt [10] .

6 - After giving the tree leaves, Tathagata turned down the bowl, did not seek food anymore [11] , and turned on his heel back into the small leaf tent.

7- And the second and third times this guy came to Tathagata again. I feel neither fluttered nor attached to alms food [12] , I am giving this taste as before.

8- Because of this reason [13] , our body weakens. On that day, the Tathagata felt happy and at peace with joy.

9- If only in a month or two of Tathagata find a worthy person to give, Tathagata will donate noble goods without being attached or agitated.

10- While Tathagata is giving to this item, we do not feel proud or expect benefits. Because the result of  T being the Tathagata Tathagata performed these merit actions.

I. 2 The Happiness of the Bodhisattva Sankha [14]
( Sankhacariyam )

1- And again, when the Tathagata is a Brahmin named Sankha, cross the ocean alone, on the Tathagata path to the port [15] .

2- There Tathagata saw [16]  an enlightened Buddha [17]  on the other side of the road, an enlightened being [18]  walking along the rugged deserted path full of dust and sultry.

When Tathagata sees this person on the other side of the road, we consider this issue: "This is an opportunity to create merit for those who wish to pray for merit."

4 - Like a farmer, seeing a field that field will bring many crops, but not sowing there, so that person does not have grain.

5 - Yet Tathagata wishes blessing, see the benefits of blessing [19] , if Tathagata does not do that, then we can not achieve merit.

6. Just as the prime minister desired power [20]  more than others in the court, but did not bring them wealth and wealth, his power was reduced.

7 - Even me too, wishing for merit, seeing a person worthy of giving the whole faith, if Tathagata does not give this gift to him, Tathagata will reduce merit.

8- Thinking so Tathagata then took off his shoes [21]  and though offered to him.

9- Even as we have more than 100 times the wisdom and wisdom [22]  than the enlightened Buddha, yet to fulfill alms, so Tathagata gave to him (the items but Tathagata needs it more than he needs).

I. 3 The Happiness of the Bodhisattva Kurudhamma [23]
(Kurudhammacariyam)

1. Again, the Tathagata is the king named Dhananjaya, dwell in [24]  the city's magnificent Indapatta origin, then the Tathagata has collected good practices [25] .

2 - Brahmins from Kàlinga kingdom come near to Tathagata, they ask us to alms the statue - Nàga [26]  which is considered by everyone as auspicious.

3 - "Our country has encountered a crop failure, a terrible famine occurred. Please give us a glorious black elephant cutting board  called 27 Anjana".

4 - When someone comes to pray, the Tathagata could not refuse (I think), "in order to achieve happiness [28] , we will offer this powerful cutting board [29] ".

5 - As taking water bottles [30]  with water on his statue, [31]  - confirms the act of renunciation. Then Tathagata finished giving alms statues to the Brahmin.

6 - When I give alms to this statue [32] , the officials in the court said like this: "Why did you give this glorious statue to those brahmins?"

7- "Chopping the statue of victory and victory, symbolizing the good omen you gave, what will your kingdom be like?"

8. Even Tathagata will give his entire kingdom, even our own. For us fruition Buddhahood is very precious, so we've presented the elephants [33] .

I. 4 The Happiness of the Bodhisattva Mahà-sudassana [34]
( M ahàsudassacariyam)

1 - When in  K usàvatì, Tathagata is a territory, called Mahà-sudassana, a person with strong power can change the fate of man.

2- Three times a day Tathagata has announced in this land that: "Who desires, desires what, who gets what property?"

3- Who is hungry, who is thirsty, who desires a garland, who desires perfume, who has no clothes to wear, who will have many clothes to wear?

4- Who will parachute on the way, who wears shoes, blanket and comfort [35] ? So in the afternoon and at sunset Tathagata announced here about that incident.

5- Not just ten locations or just one hundred locations but there are countless places for those who ask will have their property.

6 - If a beggar comes [36]  day or night he will receive alms [37]  and leave in the hands of many possessions.

7- Tathagata gives such precious things until the end of his life. Tathagata gives alms not only because it is not satisfied or Tathagata has no place to store [38] .

8. Like the disabled to recover from an illness, please the physician [39]  with some possessions to stay healthy.

9- Tathagata did so, recognizing this to achieve fullness [40]  and rejoicing the mind [41] , giving to those who come to pray [42]  without being attached. , not expecting to receive back [43] , just because of enlightenment

I. 5 The Happiness of the Bodhisattva Mahà-govinda [44]
(Mahàgovindacariyam)

1- Again, when the Tathagata is the Brahmin Maha-govinda, who is the counselor for the seven kings [45] , the Tathagata is reveredby the gods and humanity [46] .

2- Then after that, the Tathagata received many great properties from the seven kingdoms, but the Tathagata mind was as solid as the ocean [47] .

3 - Wealth and grain did not satisfy Tathagata, but Tathagata also had no place to hold [48] . The enlightened taste is very noble to Tathagata, thus Tathagata gives precious assets [49] .

I.6 The conduct of King Nimi [50]
(Nimiràjacariyam)

1- Once again, when in Mithi, the magnificent capital Tathagata was a powerful king named Nimi, rich in knowledge and a desire for good deeds [51] .

2- Tathagata has ordered the construction of four halls with four entrances [52] , where Tathagata gives alms to animals, birds, humans and [53]  ...

3. Clothes, bedding, and food and drinks along with other foods [54] . Tathagata gives noble gifts, and makes them continuous [55] .

4. Like the waiter, he goes to his master for the well-being, seeking satisfaction with gestures, words and ideas.

5- Thus Tathagata will also find in everything to bring enlightenment, nurturing sentient beings by [56]  alms, Tathagata wishes for noble enlightenment.

I.7 Prince of Canda [57]
(Candakumàracariyam)
 [58]

1- Again, Tathagata is the son of Ekaràja in the city of Puphavatì [59] , a prince named Canda.

2- Tathagata then got rid of the international sacrifice, orders were issued from the podium [60]  makes people very touched [61] , Tathagata has done a great almsgiving.

3 - Tathagata did not eat [62]  hard or soft foods, even five or six nights no one gave a worthy object.

4. It is like a trader setting up a store there where the profits are very high.

5- Even though from the goods that he himself has used, the goods given to others are delicious fruits, so what is given to others will become a hundred times more.

6- Knowing this truth [63]  Tathagata has given life after life [64] . To attain enlightenment, Tathagata has not given up giving.

I.8 The conduct of King Sivi [65]
( Siviràjacariyam )

1-  In a city called Aritha Tathagata was a noble king named Sivi. Then when sitting on the throne, Tathagata thought:

2 - " Any gift of the world [66]  will not matter to Tathagata. If someone wants to ask Tathagata a Tathagata eye will give without moving ".

3. Knowing the desires of the king, God De Thich, sitting in the middle of a crowd of gods, said something like this:

4- "King Sivi, sitting on the throne, is a powerful man, thinking about various gifts, but he doesn't know what to give.

5- Come, let's try [67]  this person to see if the truth is true or not. Please wait for a while until I know the king's mind. "

6-Gods Like Thich appears in the form of an old man [68]  frail, sick, trembling in front of the king.

7- Then he raised both hands, and placed his hands on his head, saying these words:

8- "My Lord, great king, I am praying to him, a ruler of the mighty kingdom, famous for his joy of giving to man and heaven:

9- Even my eyes are blind. Give me one eye, he continues [69] to  keep one. "

10- When Tathagata heard the words of this person, took joy and was deeply moved in his heart [70] , Tathagata reached out his hands with enthusiasm, Tathagata said these words:

11- "Now that Tathagata has known the incident here, you know the Tathagata mind and have come to ask for an eye.

12- Well, my wish was fulfilled, Tathagata has satisfied the expectation. Today Tathagata will give this noble gift that has not been begged before. "

13- Come, Sìvaka [71]  come and do it, don't be slow [72] ã, don't tremble. Please pluck out the eyes for the beggar [73] .

14. Sìvaka, therefore, hurry, obey me, and pluck it out as if they would cut the bowels of a palm tree [74]  and give them to the pleading.

15. While Tathagata wishes to be given, while giving and after giving, Tathagata has no contradiction in mind [75] , as it is the benefit of enlightenment.

16. The two eyes are not important to the Tathagata nor it is of the Tathagata. The omniscient taste is very precious to the Tathagata, so Tathagata has given his eyes.

I. 9 The Happiness of the Bodhisattva Vessantara [76]
(Vessantaracariyam)

1- She is the mother of Tathagata, a queen named Phussatì [77]  and the wife [78]  of the God of Love in the previous life [79] .

2- Knowing [80]  that his wife's life is about to end, the king of heaven said like this: "I will give you ten gifts, choose [81] the  grace you like".

3- And after saying this, she said this to King Deich, "What mistake am I with him? He is not content with me so much that he caused us to leave this scene. like the wind (blowing down) dharanìruha [82] ".

4- And when the queen said this, God Thich Bèn then told her, "You did not do anything evil to me and I always loved you.

5- For this to only increase her life, the time has come for her destiny. Accept my privileges, the ten privileges that are unrivaled. "

6. Queen Phussatì was given the privilege of the king by the sky, so he was happy, privileged and delighted to accept the ten privileges including myself [83] .

7. Queen Phussatì died in that heaven, then was reborn in another noble family in the city of Jetuttara [84] , and married Sanjaya.

8. When Tathagata is in the womb of Queen Phussatì, my beloved mother, because of Tathagata's purity, my mother is always delighted in giving.

9- She gives alms to the needy, the sick, the elderly, the beggars, the passers-by [85] , the monks and the brahmins, to those who have lost their property [86]  , for those who have no property.

10- Mrs. Phussatì was 10 months pregnant with Tathagata, one day while walking in the city that gave birth to me on V essa street  [87] .

11. Name of the Tathagata is not due to parents [88]  set [89] . Because Tathagata was born there [90]  in the neighborhood of the seller, so people called Tathagata Vessantara [91] .

12. When Tathagata was an eight-year-old boy, while sitting at the palace, Tathagata then thought of giving.

13. Tathagata will give his heart, eyes, flesh and even blood, Tathagata will let everyone know about this. [92]  Tathagata will give his body if anyone asks.

14. While the Tathagata is examining his own mind, which is unwavering, firm, at that moment the globe shakes [93] .

15- Every half of the month [94]  and the day of the full moon, the day of the precepts, Tathagata rides on the Paccaya statue board and goes for alms.

16-  [95] Brahmins in a Kalinga kingdom approached the Tathagata, asking for a Naga statue that was considered auspicious and precious by the people.

17. "Our country has suffered from drought, food shortages and terrible famine. Please give us the noble white statue, the lord of elephants."

18. The Tathagata does not waver, the Tathagata gives anything to the Brahmins. Tathagata does not hide anything here, in "the property of Tathagata", Tathagata's heart rejoices alms.

19. It is inappropriate for a person to plead to Tathagata to refuse. Tathagata thought "do not let the wishes of Tathagata not achieve". Tathagata will give this powerful figure.

20- After holding the elephant's trunk and pouring water from the pitcher with the other hand, Tathagata offered the elephant to the brahmins.

21- Once again, when the Tathagata is giving the noble white statue the globe also shakes.

22. Due to the gift of the elephant, the people of Sivi [96] were  very angry, and they gathered together and exiled Tathagata to another country, "Let him go to Mount Vanka"

23. While they are chasing away, Tathagata does not waver, remains firm, Tathagata asks a favor [97] , to offer a noble gift.

24. When asked, all the people of Sivi gave the Tathagata a privilege. Tathagata has a drum pair [98]  very loud [99] , please give a noble gift.

25. Because the extraordinary people of this city are noisy, horrible. Because of that previous gift [100]  they threw to Tathagata. Tathagata gave the gift back.

26. Tathagata gives alms elephants, horses, horse-drawn carriages, slaves to men and women, cattle and wealth. After giving precious alms, Tathagata left the city.

27. When Tathagata left the city and turned to look at (it) [101] , the earth shook.

28. Tathagata gives four horse-drawn carriages [102]  standing alone in the middle of an intersection without an entourage, Tathagata told Queen Maddì:

29- "Hey Maddì, please hold Kanhà, it is lighter and smaller. I will carry Jàli because it is heavy and it is you"

30- Maddì holding Kanhàjina appears to be holding a blue lotus flower or a white daffodil. Here I hold Prince Jàli like that is a golden wine.

31. The four noble horses, well-educated, were on the road sometimes rough, sometimes flat, on their way to Mount Vanka.

32. Anyone who traveled [103] on the  same road or from another direction came, we asked them the way, "Where is Mount Vaịka?"

33. Seeing them there they uttered sympathy, they looked sad, and Mount Vaịka was far away.

34. If children see fruit trees in the forest [104] , children cry for fruit.

35- When the tall trees [105]  grew luxuriant and saw the children crying, they bent down to fit the children.

36. Seeing this extraordinary wonder, Queen Maddì was delighted and praised.

37- "A truly miraculous miracle in the world, it was the trees that drooped down due to the purity of the Bodhisattva Vessantara [106] ".

38. Because of the sympathy for the children of the Yakkas, the journey was shortened, on this day they departed and came to the kingdom of  C eta.

39. At that time, there were sixty thousand kings living in Vātula [107] . All of them raised their hands to the sky, mourned [108]  and moved forward.

40. When they met to chat there with the kings in the kingdom Ceta and along with their sons, from which they [109]  departure to Mount Vanka.

41. The king of heaven commanded Vissakamma, who had a magical power, "You should immediately turn a glass of equal glass with full comfort".

42. When Vissa KAMMA [110]  who had the miraculous power did the words of the god, King Thich Thich, he created a cup as instructed.

43. Going into the peaceful and peaceful forest, I and my wife and children lived on that mountain.

44. I and Maddì and my two children, Jàli and Kanhàjina, lived in the bureaucracy and then forgot all about sadness.

45. Continue to take good care of your children [111]  while in the burial area. Ms.  M addì picked fruit and brought her father and son to live.

46. When the Tathagata is in the forest when a traveler appears. He asked me for two children, Jàli and Kanhàjinà.

47-  T communal see people begging near, we [112]  feel rejoiced. Holding the children's hands, Tathagata gave them to the Brahmin.

48. When the Tathagata gave Brahman his natural children, the earth shook.

49. Then again, the God of Love liked to fly down, dressed as a Brahmin to ask Maddì, my virtuous wife [113]  .

50. Holding Maddì's hand, her hands covered with water [114]  for the sake of [115]  of Tathagata, I give her to her.

51. When we give Madadì her heaven, the heavens are all happy at once, the earth shakes.

52- Jàli (my son) Kanhajìna my daughter, Maddì my virtuous wife. When renouncing them that Tathagata does not hesitate [116] , it is because of our enlightened enlightenment [117]  .

53. The two children and Maddish are not yet perfect for Tathagata. The omniscience is more precious to the Tathagata, so Tathagata has given his loved ones [118]  .

54. Again, when I was with Tathaggas parents [119]  in the jungle, then they were mourning sympathy and talking about happiness and sorrow [120]  of Tathagata.

55. Tathagata approached them with shame and fear of reprimand, and with respect, the earth shook.

56- Again, when Tathagata with his relatives [121]  left the jungle, Tathagata entered [122]  the most magnificent and magnificent Jetuttara city of the cities.

57. There are seven kinds of ivory rain falling, one shower is falling, the earth is shaking.

58. Even this sympathetic earth does not know joy or sadness, with the giving power of the Tathagata the earth has trembled seven times.

I.10 Happiness of a wise rabbit
(Sasapanditaccariyam)

1.  L Who else, if the Tathagata as a rabbit going around in the woods, grazing, eating the fruit and, away from the other evil beasts,

2- Tathagata with a monkey, a jackal dog, an otter live in the same area and often meet in the morning and evening [123] .

3 - Tathagata teaches them how to love, how to be evil: "keep away from evil, keep good things [124] "

4. Meet each other on the day of the full moon, the Tathagata Precepts show it to them and say: "Today is the son's day"

5 - Prepare gifts to give to the worthy, after giving gifts to the worthy, preserve the eight precepts.

6. Please say "nice words" to me, after having prepared gifts that suit their abilities and their blessings, they seek [125]  people who are worthy of giving.

7. Sitting there Tathagata thinks about [126]  an appropriate and worthy gift. If Tathagata earns someone who is worthy of giving, what will be the gift of Tathagata?

8. Tathagata has no sesame, beans [127] , rice, butter. Tathagata continues to think about grass, but cannot give alms.

9- "If anyone [128]  deserves alms to come before Tathagata to ask for food Tathagata will alms himself; he will not leave without his hand".

10-  B iết intention Tathagata, gods in the guise of human Sakka Brahmin came to the den of the Tathagata to test the generosity of the Tathagata.

11- When Tathagata saw him, Tathagata rejoiced to say jubilant words like this "it is so good that the hay he came to Tathagata [129] ".

12. Today Tathagata will give you the noble gift that Tathagata has never given to anyone before. He is a man with many moral precepts, if not suitable for him then use another way.

13- Come set up a fire, pick up some dry branches. Tathagata will bake himself, he will eat Tathagata.

14. The sky said "very good", with joyful mind, this person gathered dry branches to make a big fire.

15- This group cooks up quickly. Tathagata shook [130] to  let the dust splash and sit down on one side.

16. When the great pile of dry trees burst into flames [131]  , Tathagata jumped into the middle of the fire.

17- Like anyone in a cold bath to ease [132]  his sadness and fever and find [133]  comfort and enjoyment.

18. Likewise when the Tathagata jumped into the fire, it also dispersed all the sorrow.

19. Tathagata has given to Brahman all his life, lower skin, upper skin, flesh, tendons, bones and hearts [134] .
