The sermon is not for fame.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
Five desires (talent, color, beauty, mind, lobes) like five mountains always weigh heavily on people. To become a monk is to liberate but first to be free from the bondage of the five desires.
However, the five sense ghosts do not always show ugly appearance for people to avoid but sometimes appear in very beautiful form, if not alert, it is difficult to recognize.
Previously, I found that there is a "Buddhist group that loves teachers ...". I just laughed and laughed thinking that some Buddhists who admire certain teachers form a group to share encouraging each other to study according to the teacher's teachings. But recently, I saw another group called "The North-South Central Buddhist Group that loves teachers ...", and then I started to feel something was wrong, there seemed to be a rivalry between him and him. There, that people are loved, then we have to be like that, but why it is worse than that. If the momentum of the latter group is bigger than the previous one, then there will be "International Buddhist Group, Global Buddhist Group that loves teachers ...". Then the groups sometimes compete, saying no good about each other. And Buddhism is at risk of one more disturbance, for the world to talk.
In my opinion, Buddhism should not establish such groups of Buddhists, whether they are Buddhist groups of one temple or another. Buddhists take refuge in the Three Jewels in the ten directions, not a single temple or any teacher. The precepts of the precepts only represent the Sangha in the ten directions. Then it is not necessary to worship any individual teacher. Moreover, such grouping has the potential to lead to many other consequences.
Buddhism today see very developed. From the facilities to the organization of the dharma are very large, the monks and nuns are also very qualified, so it is easy to be famous. But if not smart, it is also very easy to be "ghosts leading the way, demons leading", falling into the trap of the five desires, of which the most dangerous is the famous ghost. People generally yearn for names, yearn for others to know their names, and the yearning for praise, worship, idolization. A teacher or a teacher may not need talent, color, reality, lobes but it is difficult to get rid of the name, especially he has many activities or lectures on sermon or is popular with many people. But the more people admire it without reference, the bigger the self, and how much lousy and messed up from here will be born.
Buddhism today obviously does a lot of work, but somehow it still doesn't make people feel secure. The ashram studied Buddhism, youth camps, and Buddhist departments organized this course ... very enthusiastic and also very helpful, but it still seemed to lack something. One for people to find refuge in or comfort their soul amidst the already noisy life. I can't define what that deficiency is, but compared to the current practice, the suttas are like, "Hey monks, these are stumps, these are empty houses. Meditation practice. Do not be distracted. Do not regret later ”... there is still something quiet and fascinating.
In the Canopy-la-la Sutta (of the A-function School), the Buddha taught, "The Buddha told Pham Chi: You will not say that Buddha is good for the sake of preaching?" Don't mind the mind like that. If there is any benefit, I will give you all. France is said, is the first magic, to eradicate akusala, growth of good dharma. Then the Buddha told Pham Chi: You will not say that Buddha is famous for his sermon? Because to be respected, because to be the leader, because to have dependents, wallets to have them, and preach? Do not start that foundation. Now those who depend on you are still yours. The Dharma that we say is to eradicate akusala, increase the good deeds ”.
The sermon is not for the sake, not for the reputation, not for the dependents. It is really worth it to take care of our hearts and prepare them for today's practice and propaganda.END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUTRALIA,SYDNEY.2/5/2020.
