Known thus, the rich man Anāthapiṇḍika waited when the Buddha and the Venerable Bhikkhu-khưu Sangha returned to the Jetavana temple . The rich man immediately came to pay homage to Lord Venerable andananda and told him:
- Dear Sir, every time Buddha and the Venerable Bhikkhu-khưu Sangha travel to another place, this temple becomes empty. The female servant, the female servant bring the offerings to the offering ceremony without seeing any taste. They had to bring the items placed before the door of the Buddha Gandhaku cốci cup, then thui back home, without arising a heart of joy.
Dear Sir, I ask you to tell the Buddha , "Is there any other place for Buddhists to make offerings or not?" ”.
At the request of the rich man, Venerable andananda came to pay homage to the Blessed One, saying,
- Dear Lord Buddha, cetiya is a place where many offerings are offered? Bach himself.
Hey Ānanda, cetiya where there are three places of offerings.
- Dear Lord Buddha, where are the three places? Bach himself.
- Hey andananda : The three places are:
Sāriraka cetiya: Cetiya place of worship of the relics of the Buddha of the Right Enlightenment .
Paribhoga cetiya: Cetiya where the Buddha used as the Great Bodhi Bodhi, the things the Buddha used .
Uddissaka cetiya: Cetiya where Buddhists create Buddha images, Stupas, etc. to worship .
Venerable Venerable bạchnanda said:
- Dear Lord Buddha, when the Blessed One was in the world, in those three places of cetiya, could Buddhists offer offerings? Bach himself.
-This Ānanda, Sāriraka cetiya : Cetiya place of worship of the relics of the Chief Justice of the Enlightenment, then when the Tathagata passed away Nirvana, then, the Buddhists can offer cetiya offerings, place of worship. Relics of the Buddha.
Hey andananda, and Paribhoga cetiya and Uddissaka cetiya, then as long as the Tathagata was alive, the Buddhists can also offer offerings to those two places.
Hey andananda, the Great Bodhi Bodhi is called Paribhoga cetiya, where the Buddhas use it as a seat to sit under the Great Bodhi Bodhi, in order to attain the attainment of the Buddha of Samyaksambuddha.
Listening to the Buddha saying so, Venerable Ānanda said,
- Dear Venerable, when the Venerable traveled to another place, the Venerable Bhikkhu-khưu monks also followed him, at this Jetavana temple became empty. The female, the male, the female servants brought the goods to this temple, they did not see anyone, so there was no place for them to offer offerings.
Dear Lord Blessed, thus, you can obtain the Bodhi seed from the Great Bodhi Tree in the Uruvela forest, and plant it at this Jetavana temple, for the Buddhists to make cetiya at the offering ceremony. , should or not? Bach himself.
Buddha rejoiced to teach that:
– Sādhu! Ānanda ropehi.
- Hey Ānanda, very good! You should plant Bodhi tree at this temple.
Sante Jetavane mama Evam nibaddhavaso viya bhavissati .

- Dear Venerable, I want to plant a Bodhi tree at the temple of Jetavana, respectfully invite you to come to the Great Bodhi Tree in the Uruvela forest, and bring a seed of Bodhi to bring to you.
Venerable Mahāmoggallāna accepted the invitation, immediately used magical power to fly to the Uruvela forest , flew around the Great Bodhi Tree, to find which Bodhi seeds were ripe, about to leave the branch. He used the plate inspired by the Bodhi seed, not to fall to the ground, bringing it back to him Venerable Ānanda . Venerable Venerable đónnanda received the seed of Bodhi with a golden disc respectfully.

Next, the rich man sprayed fertilizer on the hole, and both hands respectfully carried the golden dish containing the Bodhi seed sown into the hole and covered the ground with a layer of soil.
At that time, everyone was able to see a lot of things, which is so extraordinary and unprecedented! As soon as he finished sowing, he immediately sprouted a 50-black Bodhi tree (elbow), with 5 branches, each branch spread 50 fingers, becoming a great Great Bodhi tree, which all four directions, the eight directions are all clearly visible.
King Pasenadi Kosala instant surges offering 18 lotuses, water clean the stump, he rich Anathapindika , her great supporters of Visakha , and all the access to the south, near the women are very happy, once making offerings to Dai Bodhi in a respectful manner.
Around the Great Bodhi Tree were built four walls of fences and gates of precious stones; the base near the Bodhi tree is lined with a gemstone, to make a place to make offerings of Buddhists.
Venerable Ānanda came to pay homage to the Blessed One, saying,
- Dear Reverend Buddha, we have finished the Mahayana Bodhi tree, and we invite the Blessed One to come and use the Bodhi Mahasiddha. When the Blessed One used the Great Bodhi Tree, let us have the benefit, the evolution, the lasting peace.
At the request of Venerable andananda , the Blessed One came to use the Great Bodhi Tree to enter Arahán Fruit all night.
He Venerable Ānanda announced to King Pasenadi Kosala , he rich Anathapindika , her great supporters of Visakha , and all the access to the south, near the women in the city Savatthi gathered at the Bodhi tree, for festivals making offerings to the Great Bodhi Tree. Therefore, the Great Bodhi Tree is called:
" Andananda bodhi: Your Great Bodhi Bodhisattva andananda ".
