XIX. Annotation of the Buddha PHUSSA.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.
[ 232 ] Following the Buddha Tissa after having been prolonged for an indefinite period, due to the process of reduction, life expectancy gradually increases and decreases gradually to the point where sentient beings only enjoy life expectancy. About ninety thousand years, at that time Buddha Phussa appeared in that world. After having completed the Paramitas. He was reborn in the world of Tushita. Having passed away from that realm, he descended upon the rebirth of a queen named Sirima, the regent queen of the reigning king of Jayasena in the city of Kāsi. After ten months in the mother's womb, he was born in Sirimā park. He spent the harem life for nine thousand years.[476] It is said that he had three castles named Garuḷapakkha[477], Haṃsa and Suvaṇṇahrā[478]. About thirty thousand women served him in the harem with Kisāgotamī in the front.
When he witnessed the four phenomena and his son Anupama was born to his wife Kisagotamī, having set out to make a great ordination, he left the palace on elephant back. Along with a group of about ten million people also renounced his example in that ordination. This group of men, surrounded by him, decided to make an ascetic struggle that lasted for six months. Then, after saying goodbye to the crowd and withdrawing to live alone for a week, he came to a lot of stillness. When he attended a feast of sweet milk rice offered to him by the daughter of a merchant named Sirivaḍḍhā on the full moon day of Visākha in a certain city, he spent a day in the Simsapā forest.[479].
At night, after having received eight bundles of hay from a Taoist monk[480] His name was Sirivaḍḍhā. He approached the tree of Bodhi Āmalaka and spread that hay on a thirty-eight cubit plot of land. Having attained Right Enlightenment and uttering solemn statements, he spent seven weeks near that Bodhi Tree. When he saw that the ten million bhikkhus who were ordained with him were capable of mastering the Dharma, he moved in the air, and landed in Deer Park, the residence of the hermit in the city of Saṅkassa, he Zhuan Falun right in the middle of the crowd. Then there was an insight of the Fa conference for about one hundred thousand ten million sentient beings. So it is said that:
XIX
1. In the same Maṇḍa lifetime there is the master Phussa, who is the intellect[481], champion, is the highest leader in this world.
2. When He dispelled all darkness and removed all great troubles for the world. He rained immortal water to refresh the world with the gods.
3. When Buddha Phussa turned Zhuan Falun during the constellation festival,[482] There was a thorough understanding of the Dharma Assembly with about one hundred thousand and ten million sentient beings.
[ 233 ] 1. In this case in the same great Maaa life means: a great life in which two Buddha emerged at the same time. Called as above is the great Maaa[483].
2. Debugged means to unravel (troubleshoot)
2. The great confusion means that in this regard "tangle" is a synonym for craving. This, because it often emerges because it often appears on and under the objects of meditation, is thought to be as tangled as jumble, "known as the web (with strings).[484] understood in the sense of entwining[485]: that was a huge mess.
2. With the gods means this world together with the gods.
2. Falling rain means pouring rain.
2. Immortal water.[486] Means refreshing (worldly) he poured rain with the water of the sermons are considered immortal.
And when in the city of Bāraṇasī of the king named Sirivaḍḍha, who renounced a great number of possessions, he ordained in a monastic ordination. Ninety thousand monks followed him. The Buddha preached to them. Then there was a thorough understanding of the Fa conference that involved ninety thousand people in attendance. And when he interpreted the Buddha Dharma to his own son, Prince Anupana, there was a thorough understanding of the third Fa conference of eighty thousand people attending. Therefore it is said that:
XIX.4. The second round of Fa-rectification was about ninety thousand. The third Dharma encounter has about eighty thousand beings.
At that time in the city of Kanṇakujja, the son of King Surakkhita and the son of a kind teacher, Prince Dhammasena, together with sixty thousand people, went to see the Arahant Phussa Buddha, Right Enlightenment, when he came to the city. their street. After paying homage to Him and inviting Him, they held a great trial for about seven days, and when they listened to the Dharma by the Twelve.[487] theory, they had acquired Arhat. The Blessed One recited the Precepts in the mid-sixty thousand bhikkhus. That is the First Sangha. Again, in the city of Kāsi, he taught the Chronicle of the Buddhas at a meeting of at least the royal relative of King Jayasena. When they heard this dharma time, fifty thousand people became monks by "Thien Lai Bhikkhu" (formula for renunciation) and attained Arhat. The Blessed One recited the Precepts among these people. That is the Second Sangha. Also, when forty thousand people listened to preaching good in a meeting about good signs. Mahā, Maṅgala[488], they became monks and attained Arhat. The Blessed One recited the Precepts among these people. That is the third Sangha. Therefore, it is said that:
XIX
5. And Phussa Buddha, the great hermit, gathered three steadfast groups of people, who ended up smuggling or being spotless, and remained calm in their hearts.
[ 234 ] 6. The first sangha consists of sixty thousand people; The second Sangha consists of fifty thousand people.
7. The third Sangha is a group of up to forty thousand people, who have been freed from the entire birth of medicine and are no longer involved in rebirth.
Our Bodhisattva at that time was a Noble Slayer, named Vijitviṅ residing in the city of Arimanda. After listening to the interpretation of the Dharma and admiring the Buddha Phussa, he organized a great experiment for him. After renouncing his vast kingdom, he ordained in the presence of the Buddha Phussa Patriarch, he mastered the Tripitaka, he was an expert in Tripitaka, he conducted the Dharma Teaching to the public and to fulfill the Precepts. The Buddha Patriarch then returned to him as follows, "He will become a Buddha Patriarch." So it is said that:
XIX
8. At that time I was a Noble Slayer named Vijitāvin. After renouncing our vast kingdom, we were ordained in the presence of (Great Buddha Phussa) the great hermit.
9. And Phussa Buddha, the supreme world leader, has also signed for me as follows: "Ninety-two lives from now on he will be a Buddha."

His life span is ninety thousand years. His main wife is called Kisāgotamī. His son's name is Anupama[494] When ordained he rode on the back of an elephant. Therefore it is said that:

[ 235 ] 20. The Bodhi Tree of the Buddha Patriarch is said to be maṇḍa tree.

23. His normal life span lasts ninety thousand years. Having lived this long, he has caused so many people to overcome their confession.
When he encouraged many beings[495] Overcoming the confession, that guru was also extremely famous, and he passed away with his disciples.
When he encouraged, he gave words of encouragement, after giving the lecture.
24. V This master was also extremely famous, which means: that guru, extremely famous. "When he became unrivaled fame" is also an explanation.[497] The meaning according to all that is said about him is, "after giving up his great position"[498] They claim that Buddha Phussa has nibbana in the royal park of Sena[499] in the city of Kusinārā. His relics are thought to have been scattered.
Nh ng what remains in the other verses are clear enough.
