Buddhists who make offerings to the monks and nuns receive the following blessings:
Good part about the merit of benefactors.
Q: How blessed are the devotional devotees who offer Kathina to monks?
Answer: The host who has a pure mind, offers Kathina to the monks, will be reborn in every life with beauty, full dress and no shortage. If the male then meets the Buddha after listening to the Dharma and wants to become a monk, he will become an Ehibhikkhu: that is, when he wants to become a white monk, the Buddha calls Ehibhikkhuvo: You become a Bhikkhu-khưu, then you are naturally blessed. Kathina's treasure, which he became a Bhikkhu-khưu had three bowls of medicine and eight dishes and accessories, just like the Bhikkhu-khưu had ordained for a long time, so he didn't need to shave his hair and earn medicine. both. And the woman can not become Ehibhikkhu, but being reborn in every life has abundant clothes full, more beautiful than people.
Not to mention the full offering of health as now that even when someone does the ceremony, we only need to make needles for merit, but the merit cannot tell all.
As there is a legend as follows:
One time, there was a rich man named Sirῑsetthῑ after Buddha Lettuce and the monks came down, he developed a pure mind in order to make a great feast of offering Casa Kathina to monks and Buddha.
He then went to his companions in Ba-la-complain, proclaiming, "You will celebrate the offering of Casa robes to the monks and the Buddha." If anyone has a pure heart, then be blessed at the offering ceremony, as much as possible according to wealth. At that time, there was a very poor person, the rice was not enough to eat, there was no clothes to wear, he had only a loincloth to cover himself. When he heard people calling like that, he thought: "Perhaps because of my previous life, I did not do merit giving, so this life is just as poor as this." So now we try to create merit by making merit on the offering of Casa. But how, we have nothing blessed! He just thought that we only had this old loincloth to cover ourselves, if we could sell it for a little bit of money to buy sewing threads. Thinking like that, he washed the old loincloth to sell, he had to use leaves to make fake loincloths to cover himself, hence the word y special name Tinamānava (who took grass and leaves to wear). Going to sell everywhere no one would buy it because it was just an old loincloth. Finally, there was a henchman who saw that loincloth bought for 1 māsaka (a silver coin) to let the dog lie.
He was very happy to bring the money he bought to make a contract.
Due to the merit-making power that touched the gods on the face of the globe, he rejoiced Sādhu: wholesome, wholesome, and reverberating to the heavenly realms of the Four Great Heavenly Kings, also rejoicing, always to the six realms of sex.
The resounding cheers reached King Bārānasi, who asked what the shout was like. The servant went over to work.
The king listened to the wedding, ordered Tinamānava to enter the temple.
He answered that he did not dare to go to the king's temple, because there was no clothes to wear.
The king gave him a very good costume for him, when he finished changing, he immediately entered the King's adoration.
The king said, "I have heard that you have both blessed and that the devas rejoice, so you divide half of the blessings with me, and I will reward you with clothing, vehicles, elephants, horses, concubines, and villages for your use."
He said, My Lord, King, because I was so poor and only did once so few times, I did not divide because I was afraid of being blessed. is the dedication for you, the more you gain more treasure, not more, for example, if you have a lamp for people to prey hundreds of thousands of other things, they will be brighter, but my part will not lose the light at all). The king reduced the number of times and only asked for a tenth. He thought, the king asked for blessings so that he would not divide nor should, after finishing thinking, he agreed to give merit to the king.
When the king rejoice to receive Sādhu, he orders Tinamānava to give clothing, vehicles, elephants, horses, gold and silver and countless villages, making him a blessing for long-term blessing.
This story makes it clear that not only will cloth offerings be blessed, but only to be given for good luck on the occasion of Kathina is also blessed immeasurably in the present life.
