A. OPENING
Until now, those who have great merit for the nation and society have been worshiped and admired. This cult of devotion has many causes, but the main cause is gratitude and the desire to follow the example. The proverb has a saying: "Eat the right to remember who planted the tree, Drink the water to remember who digs the well". Gratitude is a valuable quality, which people with a fair bit of indispensability lack. A society of non-gifted people, eating porridge stone bowl, can not survive long, because it discourages those who have heart, and dried up the source of sacrifice. Besides, if a person sees good things, gentle people do not admire, sees bad things, bad people do not avoid them, he is a person who lacks the moral basis, lacks the good germ and is unable to progress.
For these reasons, we see in the world, no matter what the sun, the people, the age, whoever has merit to the village, he is worshiped by the village, the person who has merit to the nation, the people a nation, it is worshiped by the nation, a nation that honors those who have merit to mankind
Worship in other religions does not go beyond the above-mentioned reasons. But in religions, the worship is more permanent and earnest, because the preceptors are those who have great gratitude to mankind and are good examples that believers need to put always before their eyes. to enlighten my life. Among the cardinals, the Buddha is the most respected devotee. The devotion here manifests itself in worship, prostration and offerings to Buddha.
B. BACKGROUND
I. THE BUDDHIST
1) Buddha is the one to be worshiped.
Buddha is the ones who have cultivated merit and wisdom, so have been fully discerning and full of noble virtues. They used that virtue and wisdom to guide sentient beings out into the sea of samsaric suffering, and to bring them to a peaceful, peaceful position. In that life-giving work, they never change their heart, despite difficulties. They prayed for all sentient beings, until there were no more sentient beings left to save. It is true with the sentence: "Self-discipline, sense of tha, sense of fullness".
A person with all three precious qualities is Bi, Tri, Dung, three basic qualities that a human being wants to be perfect, perfect, full of legs, indispensable. An outstanding divine being, with precious teachings, noble gestures, wise actions, an exemplary life like Buddha, which we don't worship, who else will we worship?
2) But how do we worship Buddha to be true?
As mentioned above, we worship Buddha to show our gratitude to a person who has made a great gift to humanity. We worship Buddha in order to have always in front of a perfectly wise model to stereotype our thoughts, words and actions as true, good and beautiful as Buddha. It is often said: "Near the ink is black, near the lights are bright". We worship Buddha as we want to always have His lamp of wisdom, His compassionate aroma to be enlightened, fragrant, not that we have the purpose of praying to Him for His blessing, except So that he may protect us in a dishonest way, or let us rely on his power to do unrighteous things. If we worship him for the wrong purpose as mentioned above, not only will we defame the Buddha,
3) Which Buddha must we worship?
Every Buddha means immeasurable light, immeasurable immense life, and merit of spiritual immeasurable immeasurable wisdom; So every worship of a Buddha is to worship all the Buddhas.
But we should also depending on the period of education of each Buddha and the dharma practice that worship for rationality and co-operation. For example, today, when we are in the period of Shakyamuni Buddha's teaching, then naturally, we have to worship Him first.
If any follower practices the "Pure Land Buddhism" and specializes in the method of "reciting the Buddha's name" to pray for rebirth, then the worshiper must worship Amida Buddha. Or, if a Buddhist wants to worship all Buddha for three generations, he should worship Shakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha, and Maitreya, called "Three World Buddha".
4) How to worship Buddha.
So in the home of believers, if you want to worship the Buddha, the most is three. And remember, while worshiping the Three Buddhas, one table must be arranged. If the glass cage picture should be hung upright, not the high, the low, nor the big, the small; As for wooden statues, bronze statues of crockery, they should be placed on the same level as those in the temple. The altar of the Buddha must be placed in the middle of the house, the altar of the grandparents will be below or after the sentence: "Pre-Buddhist post-Linh Buddha, or Upper Buddha lowering the Spirit". If the upper floor, the Buddha worship on the upper floor. At the altar of the Buddha, there should be no other objects, except the vase, incense burner, lamp stand and fruit plate. These items are cleaned daily.
For the first time, when visiting a Buddha image, a follower must make an offering to the Buddha's image, which is also called a Buddhist ceremony. This ceremony is not required to be celebrated, should be done simply, but no less solemn and pure. In order to have these two characteristics, the host must clean himself: fast, keep the precepts and invite more helpful and knowledgeable people to come to recite a sutta.
And starting from the day of the ceremony to recite the Buddha onwards, everyone in the house, every day to go out and see the Buddha image, should think of his great virtue and adjust his body and mind. Every day we worry about improving our behavior with each other, both internal and external, and must always be imbued with the spirit of compassion, charity and equality. That is why it is worthy of fighting against the name of a family with Buddha worship. For a long time, if the Buddha image is damaged, cannot be painted or repaired, the new statue should be changed. When there are new statues, the old statues should be offered to the temple to wait for the opportunity to enter the tower.
II. BUDDHISM
1) The meaning of Lord Buddha.
In the old days, when the Buddha was still alive, the disciples from the king, to the people, whenever they were lucky to meet Shakyamuni Buddha, bent down to embrace Buddha's feet and place his forehead on his feet to show his respect. grave, worship a supreme being: Bi, Tri superhuman. It was an extremely humble gesture, in need and complete confidence in the Buddha.
After Buddha's death, all believers still considered him as still alive, and the gesture of bending down to hold Buddha's foot continues to this day and thousands of years later. That gesture only has a use that makes believers always imagine as Buddha was sitting in front of him to witness to his earnest devotion.
2) How do you prostrate to the Buddha.
In order to be true to the above meaning, when bowing to Buddha, you must kneel, tilt your hands out as if you are lifting Buddha's feet, and lower your back to place your forehead on your palms.
Before bowing to the Buddha, you must clean yourself: wash your face, rinse your mouth, wipe your hands and feet, change your clothes and put on a colon. When he had finished, he burned the incense before the Buddha table, stood upright, folded his hands in front of his chest, looked at the Buddha image, thought of his good generals and noble virtues, and expressed his righteous aspirations. , dispensary, then insert incense into the censer, hit the bell and bow to Buddha three times.
Buddhist ceremony like that true legal; in the sutta called "the mind and body respect," that is, the body is eagerly arranged, serious, the mind is cheerful and wholeheartedly as if meeting the living Buddha. On the contrary, we worship Buddha with the conceit (in the sutta called the feast of love), or with the mind of praying for the name (in the sutta called praying for the ceremony), there will be no result, but also carrying more sins.
Falling from holidays , when you bow to Buddha, your arrogant and arrogant heart is still close to the ground, five heads (two hands, two legs), standing up and down sloppily, over the speaker for something.
Praying for the ceremony , when seeing a lot of people, the mouth immediately loudly proclaimed the name of the Buddha, the body diligently bowed unceasingly, intending to be praised by everyone. In contrast, when there are no people, the body is lazy, the mind treats, does not want to worship anything.
The two ways of worshiping above are very false, so those who want to progress on the path, they should be avoided immediately.
3) Four prostrations (physical).
Logically, there are four rituals.
a) Delivering pure solemnity : In this liturgy, the practitioner must realize that the realms of the Buddhas are manifestly displayed, so prostrate to a Buddha, that is, prostrate to all Buddhas, prostrate one prostr prostrate to all the Dharma Realm, because the Dharmakaya of Buddha is informed.
b) Turning into the legal world: In this law, the ceremony must contemplate itself, mind and all the law, from any time until now did not leave the legal world.
c) Right View : In this dharma, a person makes prostrations to the Buddha right in his own mind, not in any way connected with any other Buddha, because all sentient beings from the past until now, have the Buddha nature to be full, equality and truthfulness.
d) Truly, the equality of ceremony is : In this ceremony, the ceremony people do not see that they have self and forgiveness; He and himself are one, the flesh and the most holy, like and incomparable. Therefore, His Excellency Van Manjushri Bodhisattva said: "Gifted ceremony, ritual service of emptiness," that is, the person who kowtowed, and who he bowed, the nature were all silent. That is thorough and rational Bat Nha.
Four ways of this ceremony, high reason hard to think, if not the upper house upper head, it is not comprehend and difficult to follow.
III. WORSHIP BUDDHA
Offering Buddha is short, saying enough is making offerings to the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Offering means offering and nourishing.
1. Meaning of worshiping Buddha
Someone will ask: Why is the Buddha immortal and immortal but also offered? In fact, the Buddha was out of samsara, there is no limit to eating. But this is only a form to imply that, although Buddha passed away long ago, but for us, always consider him still alive. In the past, how did the disciples, the pilgrims, and the benefactors, offering him, now we continue that gesture. This offering makes us close to Buddha, feeling like we are always beside Buddha. Also thanks to this worship and worship, we made an affinity with Buddha, clearly visualizing his life in order to follow in his footsteps.
2. Must worship the Buddha with what? (About the).
Still know that we should make offerings to Buddha to imagine that he is still alive, but if we, when worshiping Buddha, presented adequate food and drink, having a great table banquet would be a waste of money. but also falsify the profound meaning of the Buddha's offerings.
So if you want to worship Buddha properly, you should only use scent, bright lights, fresh flowers, good fruits, clear water and sometimes adding white rice is enough.
3. Five wondrous incense dishes to worship Buddha.
The above paragraph is about Su, about appearances to the Buddha. As for the Ly aspect, we have to use the five wonders of incense to worship Buddha as follows:
a) About : The Buddha's dharmakaya is very pure, if we use the incense, we use incense to burn the offerings, then on the Ly side, we must also maintain the precepts of pure solemnity, so that we can make enough offerings about Su and Li.
b) Dinh Huong : Our bodies and minds are infatuated and often disturbed in every situation. If we let go forever in that state, then we cannot practice. So every day, every hour, every minute, every second, every minute, we have to try to calm the mind, don't let bad thoughts and actions invade our souls and make us confused. dynamic. Calm down the mind, so as to use the Buddha's Land of Identity.
c) Hue incense : Hue incense worship Buddha is always to pay attention to three clear dishes: Van Hue, Tu Hue, and Tu Hue. The wisdom is to listen to the precious teachings of the Buddhas and sages; The wisdom is to bring those precious words to consider and to ponder, to know what is right, what is harassing, which is true, which is untrue to avoid getting lost in the wrong way; Wisdom is determined to practice what we think is right, except what we consider to be wrong, to properly implement the Buddha's wise teachings.
d) Liberation of incense : Liberation of incense and worship Buddha is determined to destroy the ego, the source of the suffering of samsara. We must always contemplate selflessness, do not accept this body of four elements as ourselves, nor see the karma that distinguishes us, in order to escape from the cycle of birth and death.
d) Liberation of ants and incense: We have known the selflessness, to destroy the ego, it is liberated, but there is still "Dharma attachment", so we have not reached the realm of freedom and fearlessness like Buddha. And France means that also sees things such as: earth, water, wind, fire are real; also feel sad and happy is real. When can we realize that the four great reasons are true because we are still in human karma, not for other species, like fish, then the water is not the water as we perceive it to be, it is the castle, the house; For weevils, wood is not what we think it is, but food and shelter; Until happy, sad, happy, miserable is to treat each other and be born. Then the Dharma, like the self, is a lie, not real, but just simple nouns. Always, like that, to be liberated from the attachment of Dharma,
4. Offering the Dharma.
Dharma is the Dharma taught by Buddha, letting sentient beings follow that practice. In order to make offerings to the Dharma, we must first learn the sutras, laws, treatises, and study the doctrine to determine what is Dharma, the right teaching. If we have a wide range of studies, we have to think about translating foreign language sutras into Vietnamese to complete a Vietnamese Tripitaka, we can help with the profit-making activities by giving lectures or writing. problems related to the Dharma. If we have financial resources, we should send money to publish or publish sutras to spread the Dharma. The above works are all Dharma offerings.
5. Offering Sangha.
If we sincerely worship Buddha, then of course we have to respect the Sangha. The monks have substituted Buddha's teachings and passed them on to us, how could we ignore them? We should not distinguish the Sangha in which country, temple or sect. Any monk who has enough moral virtue is also ready to serve him, so-called Sangha offerings.
C. CONCLUSION
1. Benefits of worship and worship Buddha
As the preceding paragraphs say, we worship and worship the Buddha because of our deep gratitude to those who have sacrificed all eternal happiness for sentient beings. The second reason for worship and worship is for us to always have in front of our eyes, on our heads, a model of complete sincerity, goodness, and beauty to follow. The worship and worship of the Buddha, if you practice sincerely, well-intentioned and true meaning, will bring many benefits for the present and the future:
a) In the present : Each of us and our family, as always, lives in the bright atmosphere, in the good influence, the piety of the Buddhas. We always live in earnest, in ritual, on peace, because every thought, every gesture, every word of ours is illuminated by the eyes of the Buddha. We do not dare to live indiscriminately, fuss, think harassed when the Buddha is reigning in the family and in each of us. Only empty souls, not believing, not worshiping a noble being, will easily fall and become depraved.
So in the family, if you want to have happiness in the present, want to live a meaningful life, want your children not to be self-indulgent, depraved, the homeowner should set the table for Buddha, to worship and worship. Him and set the children to live a peaceful and pious life.
b) When we die : The good karma that we have practiced in our daily life will touch the infinite compassion of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Due to the "Law of corresponding unanimity, similar gas demand", the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will release the light to lead our enlightenment to the pure, peaceful and peaceful realm.
2. Advise the right faith in the worship, prostration and worship Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
In order to have such a good result, we must develop righteous faith. If you worship, worship and make offerings to the Three Jewels in a wrong way, not only will it be of no benefit to us, but you will also bring in more sins, and drift forever and again in the world of birth and death. We must strongly believe that:
a) The Buddha is completely frustrated with enlightenment, supernatural birth and death, having the power to liberate sentient beings from the cycle of reincarnation, and deserve to be a living being in the three realms. That's why we worship Him.
b) Dharma is a miraculous remedy, except for all causes of suffering of sentient beings, so we worship Buddha Dharma.
c) Monks, if there are enough pure virtues, are bright teachers, our good friends. Therefore, we worship and approach them to learn from our spiritual practice.
d) All sentient beings have enlightened Buddha nature, if they will practice according to the Buddha Dharma, they will surely become Buddhas.
dd) Reason and cause and effect are not wrong and if they create good causes, they will enjoy good results. Among the benevolent causes, there is no one more vindictive than "worshiping Buddha, making Buddha, and making offerings to the Three Jewels", including Sui and Li. Still know how to worship, worship and worship Buddha in both aspects of Su and Ly is difficult, but around us, in this world there are countless boundless Bodhisattva Kim Cang Bodhisattva and Dharma protectors. to support, to recite for all people who develop the righteous heart to worship Buddha, then what would we worry if our work is not round, our results are not satisfactory?
