Lesson 6:  TEN RELIGION OF BUDDHISM IN CHINA
RELIGION.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.

Religion belongs to Mahayana, advocating teaching people to recite Buddha's mind to be reborn in the Pure Land scene of Buddha Amitabha. Therefore, this new religion is called Pure Land.
This is one of the many dharma disciplines of Buddha, which is characterized by easy cultivation, easy to witness, and is suitable for the vast majority of people. With this practice, no matter what kind of person, in any time, in any situation, he can practice. If compared with the road, then this is a flat avenue, spacious, cool, easy to go but quickly go, not afraid of dangerous obstacles in the middle of the road.
Because of these reasons, so from past to present, there have been countless people who choose this practice to practice. Particularly in Vietnam we, in the past as well as today, have many people who are followers of this religion. That is why we urgently compile this article to introduce the "second religious path" among the ten sects of Buddhism.
I. STARTING UP TON RESERVATION
What canonical merits did the Pure Land rely on? The classics that the Pure Land made y-go are many. Here we would like to give just a few basic sutras, often mentioned only. Those are the sets:
1. Business immeasurable:  This business records 48 vows of the Buddha Amitabha, while still a monk named Dharma. The content of these 48 vows is that: After becoming a Buddha, he will establish a very solemn and very pure country, to lead sentient beings in the ten directions of the world there, if those beings often recite his name and often pray to be reborn in his pure land.
2. Business Quan Amitayus:  This business records 16 legal shops and 9 products, to teach people who are reborn in the Pure Land.
3. Sutta of Amitabha  Sutra : This sutta describes the solemn realm of Pure Land (Pure Land), which causes people to love and vow to cultivate according to the method "to recite the Buddha's name until the mind is unmatched." "To be reborn in that world.
Three business on this is the main business; ancient people often called "Three Jing Pure Land". There are also other suttas such as:
- The Buu Tich scripture records the Buddha's life because the King of Pure Land and Sanskrit and seventy thousand people in his kin, said the practice "reciting the Buddha's name" to pray for birth in the world of Ultimate Bliss.
- The Great Patriarchal Amitabha Sutra, the Six Senses of Contemplation, the Sutta Contemplation of Buddha, the Sutta-Lotus Sutta, the Sutta Pitaka, the Sūtra Nghiem, etc.
The Dictionary of the Pure Land spread to China very early, but it was not until the Dong-Tan period that Hue Hui Vien succeeded to propagate it, therefore this religion became popular. He was the first Patriarch in China. After that, the famous masters such as Mr. Dam Loan, Mr. Dao Xuoc, Mr. Thien Dao, etc. all used this method to practice and transform many people and forever pass it on to this day.
II. FOUR CALCULATION
The pure land is not only one, but many realms. Standing on the analytical aspect, from sacrifice to crude, can be divided into the following 4 Pure Land:
1. Ordinary Light Optical Pure Land:  This is the realm where the Dharmakaya Buddha dwells. "Often" is not changed, not being destroyed, ie the Dharmakaya Buddha; "President" is far from the negativity, ie Buddha's Liberation; "Quang" is the illumination throughout the ten directions, ie the Buddha's Bat-elegant. Thus, this Pure Land has enough of all three treasures of Buddha, namely Ordinary, President and Quang, so it is called "Ordinary Pure Optical".
This pure scene has no image but only the mind. Because the true nature of mind, or the nature of awareness, "is often quiet, shining and pure", it is called "Pure Land Optical Pure Light". When Buddhas have witnessed this realm, the body and the body are incomparable, but based on the following three types of pure land, they are temporarily called Bodily and Pure. Certificates to this place, if standing on the Body, it is called "Dharmakaya", also in degrees, then called "Ordinary Light Optical Pure Land".
Jing Jing, about the words, is written: Tu Nhon happy about teachers, when multiplication fullness, the City of Magic sensation (Buddha) will be in the "permanent President Quang Tinh".
2. Truth-solemn Pure Land:  Practitioners go through three lives, accumulate merit and virtue due to the merits of spiritual practice and accumulate many lives, making solemn real-life realm should call it "True-serious solemn Pure Land degree ”. This realm of Pure Land is the dwelling place of the Sambhogakaya Buddha. Business immeasurable immeasurable words on the written words: "Tu-practice feet-truth, feel good results, so called" Very solemn newspaper ". On Mahayana teachers, this realm belongs to the three sages (Head, Hanh, Direction); On the Mahayana Mahayana school, this is the realm of steps from the Decade to the Enlightenment Bodhisattva.
3. Abundant means of Pure Land:  The Pure Land scene is not the ultimate end, but only the means. This is the Pure Land of the Second Vehicle. Although they have been able to eliminate ants-and-and-private or in the three realms (Sex, Lust, and Formless Realm), there are two left: ignorance or and tran-sa or not yet deducted, should be called "organic-residual". Already "organic-residual" ie not yet completely saved, so call this Pure Land is "means residual Pure Land".
4. Pure Land co-inhabitants:  This is the pure land of Buddha Amitabha in the West. Already called the Pure Land, or Ultimate Bliss, of course, there are enough of the pure and solemn virtues, without the four evil beasts. But here because the Buddha, the Bodhisattva and the good people (saints) living with newly born beings, have not yet attained the fruit of the flesh (divine), so they are called "the holy beings in the Pure Land".
Because the majority of Vietnamese and Chinese Buddhists, while cultivating the Pure Land method, vow to be born in this Pure Land, that is, the Land of Amitabha Buddha, so here we ask based on the sutta "Small Patriarch Amitabha" recounts the Buddha Shakyamuni describing the realm of this Pure Land: "... From this Ta-she realm, just to the West, ago more than ten thousand memories of Buddha realm, there is a world called Ultimate Bliss. The teacher in that world was Buddha Amitabha, who used to say the dharma. That realm has seven layers of verse (wall-flowers), seven layers of webs, seven rows of beautiful trees, and a lake full of eight merits. The bottom of the lake is all yellow sand. The four sides of the lake are filled with jewels and jewels. In the lake there are four-color lotus with large wheels, sweet scent, every color has an aura of illumination. Around the lake, rise to the magnificent, beautiful castles made entirely of false security.
In the air, mixed with sacred music, there were birds chirping, made by Buddha, to lecture for six times to the people. The listener then immediately started to recite the Buddha's name, recite the Dharma, and recite the Sangha. Not only the sound of birds, but also the sound of flowing water, the wind blowing, and the trees ringing, they also emitted magical sounds.
Such beautiful, solemn realms of Bliss are due to the merit of Amitabha Buddha (1) who is the Lord of that realm and the Bodhisattvas and Saints together.
III. THREE FACTORS TO BRIDGE A QUESTION
To be reborn, to the Pure Land, the practitioner must prepare the following three elements: Faith, Vow and Action. These three factors are often referred to as three-Luong (food salaries). If there is a missing item, one cannot practice well.
1. What is "Tin"?  Faith is a firm faith, unshakable. Faith is very important and necessary for spiritual practitioners. Kinh Nghiem taught: "Believing mother gives birth to merit." Through faith, the Bodhi fruit can be achieved.
The news has three parts:
a) Believe in Buddha:  Believe that Buddha is a fully enlightened being, knows the past, present and future affairs, sees all the sa world, knows the dhammas clearly. Believing that due to compassion, we want to save samsaric suffering for sentient beings, Buddha Shakyamuni said the method of reciting the Buddha's name, so that all beings can practice and be reborn in the Pure Land. Believing that the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha were not deceitful, Buddha Amitabha and the Pure Land were all real.
b) Believing the Dharma:  Believing that the practice of reciting Buddha's name is a method that is easy to cultivate, easy to witness, and sure. Believing that the 48 vows of Amitabha Buddha are fully effective for saving sentient beings, and that if we practice them correctly, we will surely be reborn in the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha -And.
c) Believe me:  Believe that I am fully capable and energetic to follow this practice. Believing that if we practice exactly as Buddha Shakyamuni taught in the Amitabha Sutras, and maintain the name of the Buddha Amitabha until "one-pointedly rebellious", then surely We will be born in the Pure Land.
2. What is a "vow"?  Prayer is a promise, a desire, a will, a desire to do true things. May the attraction of the magnet stones, the wind sails of the boat, the pinwheel of the plane. May prayer be the motivation for people to practice quickly to the goal.
Such an important vow, so one should make a vow to be steadfast, always patient, and persevere in the practice of reciting the Buddha's name, day and night reciting Buddha's name constantly, earnestly desiring to be born in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha.
In order to have an idea of the word " vow ", we would like to quote the following three prayers, out of the 48 prayers of Amitabha Buddha, when he was a Dharma monk:
- "After we become Buddha, sentient beings in the ten directions, one believes and wants to return to our realm, from one thought to ten thoughts, if that being cannot be reborn, then we swear we will not become Chief-awareness, except those who commit crimes and rebellion contradict Dharma. "
- "If we become a Buddha, sentient beings in the ten methods of generating bodhicitta, cultivating merit, one making aspirations, wanting to be reborn in our country, if only we weren't with the masses who appeared in before the eyes of beings, my vow not to become Chief Justice-sense ”.
- "If we become a Buddha, beings in the ten directions listen to our name, specialize in reciting our realms, and if we are not satisfied, then we swear not to become Chief-awareness".
3. What is "Onion"?  Onion is practice, follow. If believing (believing) but not desiring or desiring (praying) is just plain and useless news. But if the desire, desire (vow) but not to do (onions), it is just a wish, a virtual dream, without any result. Therefore, Tin, May, Onions these three basic elements must always have enough, be eligible for rebirth in the Pure Land. Like a prostrate, it takes three feet to stand, one leg is missing, and all falls.
IV. METHODS OF TU ON THE POSITIONS
After we have prepared all three elements or three dishes of the Pure Land above, we must take care of them immediately. But in order for it to be effective, we need to understand the austerities method. Still know that the practice of reciting Buddha's name is a very simple method, just reciting Buddha's name is enough. But there are many ways to recite the Buddha's name, but we would like to introduce a few of the following methods:
1. Tri-list recite the Buddha:  In this way of reciting the Buddha's name, the practitioner only focuses on reciting the name of Buddha Amitabha. Every day from the moment he wakes up to the time he goes to bed, he has to remember to recite. When walking, when standing, while lying down, sitting, eating, or before sleeping, one should never forget to recite Buddha's name. In addition to wanting to be more effective, practitioners need to follow the method of "Buddhist Sutta to recite Buddha's name" (see Buddhist Buddhist prayer ritual) or "Buddhist meditation" (see Buddhist meditation). Every time after reciting, the practitioner will dedicate his life to Pure Land.
2. Tham-save reciting Buddha's name:  In this way of practice, the practitioner must consult and consider the Buddha's recitation. As when reciting "Nam-Amitabha Buddha", one must observe this Buddha's recitation, where did it come from and where did it go? Who is reciting, reciting etc ...? Thanks to the attentive attention to refer to such a recitation of the Buddha's name, the thought-thought waves gradually subsided, the water of concentration appeared, and the practitioner was "one-pointedly unconcerned", until he died, he would be born. scene-world of Buddha. This concept of reciting Buddha's name is similar to the method of consulting the "first dialog" side of Zen Buddhism, so it is called "taking part-saving reciting Buddha's name".
3. Contemplating reciting Buddha's name:  In this way of practice, one attends to observing the image of Buddha.
Practitioners sit in front of the Buddha image, paying close attention to contemplating and observing the good generals which relate to Buddha's qualities. As when contemplating the eyes of the Buddha, then thinking of the wisdom of Buddha; When contemplating the gentle smile of Buddha, then think of the virtue of compassion and joy of Buddha. Because of the wisdom of Buddha, the meditative character of the practitioner fades; thanks to the Buddha 's compassionate dharma, one's temperament diminishes. Everytime one contemplates a good virtue of Buddha, one' s bad nature is reduced. The nature of the Buddha is like a ray of the sun, the bad nature of the practitioner is like a stain; The more the sun's rays and the longer it shines, the faster the ink stain fades. In short, thanks to the attention of the good generals on the image of the Buddha, virtues such as compassion, joy, equanimity, and compassion are practiced and instilled in the mind of the practitioner; for a long time, the meditator will be pure,
4. Contemplation of reciting Buddha's name:  In this way of meditation , the practitioner sits still, even though there is no Buddha image in front of him, but he contemplates having Buddha Amitabha Buddha, standing tall on a lotus flower , radiating aura like a golden silk, covering her entire body. Practitioners sit upright, put their hands together, and think that they are sitting on a lotus seat, guided by Buddha. Practitioners focus on contemplating forever like that; go, stand, lie, sit also do not stop, until you open the eyes or close your eyes, you will see the Buddha, that is, the dharma is mature. When death, practitioners will certainly be reborn in the Pure Land.
In the Buddha's eight samsara Sutta that says: "Buddha is for the King, says the Dhamma contemplation is transparent ...". Contemplating white transparent means visualizing white feathers with shining aura, between the eyebrows of Buddha, like a full moon, as clear as a jade glass. This is a method of contemplating the Buddha.
5. Truly reciting the Buddha's name:  Really admiring the Buddha's mindfulness is reciting the Buddha's name that has reached the true nature of the mind. Chon heart not being kill, not past, not nowhere to fake, so called "real minister".
In the five legal concept of Buddha on this, the previous four dharma belong to the, there is mindfulness with practice; and the fifth dharma (Truthfulness of Buddha's concept) is that of Ly: no longer reciting, still cultivating, no longer energetic, superior. Reciting Buddha's name until this place is completely new.
But, practitioners must always remember: it is thanks to Su, the new manifest. First of all, we have to cultivate the four types of reciting the Buddha's name, until we reach maturity, we no longer see ourselves as the one reciting, Buddha is the one recited, only one mind shines, has no energy, tries, doesn't possess, no nothing. At this point, the Sà-Ðà Sutta called "be single-mindedly rebellious". The Sutta of the Twelve Divisions states: "Mindfulness comes into mindfulness, and it is thoughtfulness."
In the year of reciting the Buddha's name, from the past to the present, Pure Land cultivators, often choose the method of maintaining the name, are a method that is easily practiced by practitioners, practitioners at any level, anywhere or anytime, can practice. What a very hateful method.
V. BENEFITS OF THE BUDDHA
The benefits of reciting the Buddha's name are immeasurable and can be divided into two parts: the benefits of Su and the benefits of Li.
1. Benefits of the
a) Reciting Buddha's name will eliminate defilements.
Those who meet with misery, such as death, separation, unusual accidents, etc., birth to defilements, if you know the mind of reciting Buddha's name, then the afflictions of suffering gradually dissipate. Why are there such good results? Because our mind is like a stream of water always flowing. If we mix in dirty substances, the water becomes turbid; If we mix in fragrant substances, the water will become fragrant. If our mind only remembers thinking of painful accidents, then there will always be disturbing disturbances. When we recite Buddha's name, we will naturally remember Buddha and forget our suffering. Bring this memory of Buddha in place of remembering suffering; an hour of reciting Buddha's name can change an hour of sorrow, a day of reciting Buddha's name can change a day of suffering. Just like that, if the recitation of Buddha is increased, then the sorrow and suffering will be reduced that much. So the old people have the saying:
During the last Vietnam-France war, we brought the recitation method for only some people who were almost sorrowful, because their career was destroyed, their descendants lost, they collected very good results. is nice.
b) Reciting Buddha's name will eliminate being reborn.
- Beings daily remember to think of sinful things such as greed, hatred, delusion, etc., spitting out evil things, body doing evil things. Such are the bad karma of sentient beings. Now if we recite Buddha's name, then we don't have time to remember thinking of sin and practicing the negative karmas again. So reciting the Buddha's name will eliminate sentient beings. The more you recite the Buddha's name, the less beings you recite. Reciting Buddha completely, reciting sentient beings will be clean.
c) Reciting Buddha's name will make the body feel peaceful.
Our illness, in part due to the physical, but also partly due to the influence of the spirit. Many people lose their appetite, go to sleep because of resentment, disgrace, etc. In such cases, if we recite the Buddha's name, the resentments that weigh down on our hearts, will be poured out with the breath, the same mindfulness, and our body and mind will be softened easily. bear. Those who are weak of heart, if reciting Buddha's name, will recover quickly. Because heart disease often makes people nervous and anxious; now thanks to reciting the Buddha's name, the concentration and concentration of anxiety will decrease. Therefore, he can eat, sleep well, and recover quickly.
d) Reciting Buddha mind will be clear, learn to remember quickly.
The disturbed minds are dark, like a wind-powered lamp, unable to light. By reciting the Buddha's mind, the mind will be calm, like a chimney lamp, not moving. Hence the mind will shine, like a lamp radiating light.
d) Reciting Buddha's name, when death will be born in the Pure Land.
As we have seen above, reciting Buddha's name gives us many practical benefits in our present life, both physically and mentally, both mentally and intelligently. But the greatest benefit is in the next life. If we practice this practice of reciting the Buddha's name, according to the Buddha's teaching, until we are "single-mindedly rebellious", after we die, we will be reborn in the Pure Land, we will always see the Buddha listening to the Dharma, befriend the holy sage, and have enough good conditions to continue to practice until the Buddhahood.
2. Benefits of Physics
When a practitioner recites Buddha's name, he is "one-pointedly unconcerned", the delusion is over, his pure mind appears. Chon's non-destructive heart is "Often", the pure mind is quiet is "President", the mind is extremely lucid "Quang". The scene of "Pure Land Optics" is only in our feet, not elsewhere.
Again, the undivided mind is "Buddha Amitayus"; Chon's endless projection of enlightenment is the "Buddha of Amitabha" and it is also the meaning of "the pure and pure Dharmakaya of Amitabha Buddha."
In short, when people recite Buddha's name until the time of expiration and enlightenment are realized, then Amitabha Buddha or the Pure Land scene will only appear in his mind, not far away. So should copy: "Nature Di-Da, idealistic Pure Land" is like that.
Through the above paragraphs, we see the concept of reciting the Buddha's immeasurable benefit. If the unbelievers have Amitabha Buddha, the Pure Land scene, and even mind the Buddha's mind, they will get many benefits as above.
BECAUSE. THE REGULATIONS AND BRIDGES ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF THE BODIES AND THE PROFESSORS
We should not think that the Pure Land Method is a simple, simple method just for those who are lowly and narrowly in spiritual practice. In fact, although this practice does not require the practitioner to have a deep understanding, an outstanding intelligence, but because it is easy to cultivate easily and effectively, there have been many Bodhisattva and O Sensei practiced this method to pray for birth in the Pure Land. He is the Bodhisattva Bodhisattva has a dark-won mind, no one can match, but He also made a vow to birth in the Land of Bliss of Amitabha Buddha as follows:
Interdisciplinary fall in love with the contemporary network
The most eradication of the obstacles
The presence of compassion Amitabha Buddha
Instant prime being An Lac close.
I vow to go to death, eliminate all obstacles, in front of seeing Amitabha Buddha, immediately being reborn in the realms of Bliss ).
Bodhisattvas like Mr. Samantabhadra, Avalokiteshvara, Great Blessed One also all wish to be born in the Pure Land.
The Patriarchs in other religions, although propagating their religion, still practice the Pure Land. Like Mr. Thien Than, the ancestor of Duy consciousness; Mr. Tri Gia Dai, the ancestor of Thien Thai Ton; Mr. Hien Thu, the ancestor of Hoa Nghiem Ton; His Excellency Nguyen Chieu, lawyer, Lawyer Ton; Mr. Ma Ming, Long Tho, the founder of Zen Buddhism, etc. also practice the Pure Land method.
After that, famous masters in China, such as Mr. Dam Loan, Mr. Dao Xuoc, Mr. Thien Dao, Mr. Cheng Vien, Mr. Phap Chieu, Mr. Thieu Khuong, Mr. Tinh Am, etc. all used this method. autonomy and forgiveness, and forever handed down to this day.
VII. CONCLUDE
We have learned through the principles, characteristics, methods of practice and values of the Pure Land. At this point, we need to consider carefully, see if this method of cultivating the Pure Land is practical, useful and appropriate for us. In this important moment, let us be utterly honest: if we realize that this practice is clearly not appropriate for us, then we have the right to wait for a different method. But if we realize that it has a practical value, certain benefits for our life in the present and the future, then we do not hesitate, let's elaborate immediately. Time passed quickly, not waiting for anyone. Prepare immediately three items of salary, namely Tin, Prayer, Planet and diligently practice the methods of reciting Buddha's name.
With a sincere attitude of sincerity, a non-corrupt determination, we will definitely recite Buddha's name to the "Unwavering one-pointed mind". END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.12/1/2020.
