UNIVERSAL BUDDHISM 1

Course II: THIEN THUA BUDDHIST
Lesson 6: SAMSARA.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=THICH CHAN TANH.

A. OPENING
The issue of loss and death and life is an extremely important issue, from the past until now has caused confusion, wondering how many people have wasted so much ink and paper. After all, there are two theories that draw people most attention:
- A theory that, as humans and animals, once dead is lost, nothing exists after that: "Sand dust, people return to dust".
- A theory of the contrary: human beings die, but the soul remains forever, to go to heaven, enjoy forever the pleasure, joy, or go to hell forever tormented forever.
These two theories are not true:
- Dead, can not be completely lost completely, because as we are in this world, nothing is completely lost. Until a grain of sand, a feather can not be lost, let alone the body or know in humans.
- But to say that the soul often remains, forever in heaven or in hell is not right. The usual remark is enough for people to realize that in the universe there is nothing that can stay permanently in place, but on the contrary, always changing and moving. Besides, what is more unfair than just because the people who have sown in a short present life suffer from eternal good or bad in the future?
The two "accept" and "accept" on this are rejected by Buddhism. According to the Buddhist doctrine, sentient beings are not ceased, nor are they often, but they turn around in samsara.
B. BACKGROUND
I. DEFINITIONS
Reincarnation translated in the word Samsera in Sanskrit. According to Chinese characters, Luan is the wheel; Hui is spinning. The image of the spinning wheel is a very clear image that Buddha used to visualize the rotation, up and down, the appearance of every being in the six realms (six paths) when reincarnated in this realm, when in the realm the other, always following samsara, samsara incessantly, like a wheel. Reincarnation is an empirical theory, not a myth.
When we have recognized the law of cause and effect, then we cannot refuse, nor recognize reincarnation, because reincarnation is just a continuous cause and effect, but because it is gone, when it appears, when we rise, when down, when lost, when still, when changing shape, so we seem to interrupt and not affect, dominate each other only.
II. DISCUSSION IN ALL THINGS AND PEOPLE
In the universe all things, from small things like dust particles, to as big as the globe, there is no such thing as samsara.
1. Land of reincarnation
As the vase is in front of us here, formerly it was earth, the potter brought it to make it into a pitcher, over time, the vase will be broken, melted into dust and return back to sandy state. This sand and soil is food for plants; plants or fade, after a while, to become fertilizer for other plants, or as food for animals. Animals that eat this plant, or excrete it right out to compost, become soil, or turn into blood and flesh, so that one day the body of the old animal will weaken, and will disintegrate into sandy soil. How many times the shape changes, because one fate or another, but sandy soil, it also becomes sandy soil after a while, a long or short rotation.
2. Samsara:
Water in the sea, evaporated by the sun's heat; steam rises into the air, and the cold air becomes cloudy; a lot of clouds gathered, falling into the rain; rain flows into lakes or is too cold, settling into ice. Icy met the sun's heat to melt into water again. Since beginninglessness, water has changed its state so many times, it still revolves forever, but water is still water. The phenomenon of water is extremely variable, the essence of water never dies. It is only reincarnation.
3. Wind of reincarnation:   Wind is the rotation of the air. The air was burned by the sun's heat. stretching, rising into gaps. To fill those gaps, the air from other places runs to fill, causing wind. The air moves slowly, the wind is small, the air moves quickly, the wind is high. Move faster, it becomes a storm. The wind is sometimes gloomy, sometimes faint, when it is present, when it is rushing, when it is violent, but its nature is always air.
4. Reincarnation fire:  Fire is a heat that burns things. When the conditions are right, the heat emits fire. For example, two sticks in the normal state, we do not see the heat, anywhere, but when rubbed together for a while, the fire immediately turned on. This fire could burn those two sticks, and these two bars partially turned into charcoal ash, partly turned into carbon. Other plants use their roots to attract the ashes, and use their leaves to attract carbon, which stores heat so that one day, having enough conditions, will burn again. Thus, heat is always available, but sometimes it is in a latent state, sometimes in a detected state. Our eyes only see it when it detects, and only then assume it is, and when it is in a subconscious state, we say it is not. In fact, it only reincarnates through different states,
5. Worlds reincarnation:   In Buddhist scriptures often say: "The world is as much as the Ganges sand". Indeed, at night we look up to the sky, seeing countless stars. Each star is a world. And each of these worlds does not escape from the common law of being a city, a pillar, a ruin, and no. Every moment there is the arising and passing of the world. One world dissolves, another world rises, like one wave disappears, another wave emerges, causing cause and effect, one after another, samsara never ends.
6. Reincarnation's body:  Human body, or animal body too, after all is due to the four elements that are earth, water, wind, fire. Flexible materials such as tendon and flesh belong to the Earth; wet things like blood, fat, sweat, tears, belong to Water; breath in and out, dancing heart, breathing lungs, limbs moving are Windy; The heat in you belongs to Fire. As we have seen above, the four elements are all reincarnated, so the human body formed by the four elements must also be reincarnated. When this body dies and the time to disintegrate, hard plastic returns to the Earth; wet substance returns to the water; heat returns to the Fire; breath and movement return to the wind. Then these four substances, depending on their common conditions, come together as a plant or other body. The other person until death, those four substances return to their original being. When I became a human, when I became a cattle body, this year I gathered here, moved to another place next year,
Well-known Chinese scholar Luong Khai Sieu said, while studying Indian Buddhism: "... People are always, in every moment, in samsara, too fast or fast or Slowly, it is called being killed or mutated, while it is called reincarnation "(Reincarnation is also a form of mutations). As if our bodies, incessant transformations, our flesh and blood, not even less than a week, might well turn into dust on the roadside. "
7. The spirit of reincarnation:   Man does not consist only of the four elements. In addition to the four elements, there is also a psychological part, or more generally, a spirit. That includes all the things Buddhism calls: Tho, Tuong, Hanh, and consciousness. The body of the four elements is only the part of Buddhism called Sac. Identity did not destroy but only transformed samsara, the mind or spirit, nor did it destroy but just turn and turn.
As Chapter II said, all the actions of body and mind create for each one of us a career. The karma changed, rotated forever, when this class team took a different shape, when leaving this realm, when entering another realm, it rolled around in the six paths (six paths) forever until it was possible. enlightenment only.
But the rise and fall, roll, and turn of karma in those six realms of the six realms are not accidental, random, unfortunate, unreasonable, but rather, according to a general law, that is the law of cause and effect . At this point we can see the close relationship between cause and effect and samsara. There has been cause and effect, that is, there must be samsara (except in the case of renunciation) reincarnation must follow the law of cause and effect.
III. DISCUSSION UNDER LIVING STATEMENTS THROUGH SIX AFTER
It can be said with certainty that, when we were born with human creation, when we die, the karma that leads the spirit to where it is reported is not wrong. If you create good people, then reincarnation comes to the realm of wealth, good body. As for the creation of criminals, reincarnation comes to the poor, the ugly body, the disability, the career when rising, falling and failing at times.
Following are the realms that a being can be or be absorbed in, depending on the karma that he creates:
1. Hell:  Create  angry and cruel  causes to do many sins that harm us and harm people, must reincarnate in hell, and suffer all kinds of misery.
2. Peta:  Artificially  greedy, miserable,  does not know giving, helping people, from money to teachings. On the contrary, there are deep conspiracy, poison design, to rob people, after death, reincarnation as hungry ghosts.
3. Animal birth:  Create  si delusion  sa fallen under the lovelorn, continental education, colors, financial resources, not considered or bad, good bad, dead, then reincarnation as animals.
4. A tu la:  Encountering humanities, doing, encountering wrongdoings is also unavoidable, both frightening and also cruel. Despite the good deeds,  aggressive temperament  still persists, adding to wrong views, delusion, and heresy. Create such a person, the result will be reincarnated as A tu la, having happiness also, that much sadness.
5. Humans:  Five Precepts: No killing, no stealing, no adultery, no deceit, no drunken tea, then the next life is back to being human, more noble than all things.
6. The heavens:  Abandon the ten evil acts of the Ten Greats (the following article will clarify) then after death, will be born in heaven. But remember this heaven is also in the mundane world, suffering from birth and death.
In order to escape beyond the world of samsaric existence, and to the four realms of enlightenment, Pratyekabuddha, Bodhisattva, and Buddha, one must be liberated.
IV. VERTICAL PROCEDURES ABOUT RECRUITING
+ A STORY IN INDIA
A few dozen years ago, Mai newspaper   took pictures and posted a story as follows:
In India, in Delhi, there is an 8-year-old girl named Phatidevin. The girl cried many times with her parents demanding to return to Mita to visit her husband, who was a teacher. Delhi is more than 200 km from Mita. The girl's parents were surprised and invited a journalist to come and ask him to investigate.
A journalist came and asked her when she was told that she was the wife of a teacher, living together to have a child. When the child was 11 years old, she fell ill and died. The reporter asked her if there was anything evidence. She answered that she had left gold and silver and furniture buried there and there ... And she clearly remembered a fan, given by her friend, written on the fan, and she read Those words were for the reporter to copy in the notebook.
The reporter then went to Mita Castle, and asked for the teacher's name, so it was not wrong. The reporter asked the teacher:
- Do you have a wife who died 8.9 this year?
The teacher answered:
- Yes, yes! My wife died now nine years ago. Do not know what he asked for?
The reporter said what she said.
The teacher heard that all was right.
The reporter took the notebook again and handed the words to the teacher, read and asked:
- When your wife died, did you leave a fan on it?
The teacher replied:
- Winning the same thing!
The next day, the reporter invited parents and Ms. Phatidevin to come to Mita city. From the time she was born to the age of eight, she had never gone far, but the road to Mita was, she knew everything, what was the way, where did it go, what was the name of that road, where to go, and also hit the officials' names on the sides of the road as well. Near the teacher's home, she told the car to slow down and stopped right in front of the teacher's home.
When I came to the house, I met an 80-year-old man with gray hair, and she was happy and crying and said:
- This is my father-in-law.
She pointed to the teacher and said,
- That's my husband.
Then he ran and hugged the child and cried and said:
- This is my child.
Everyone who saw everyone was surprised and moved!
This caused a stir of public opinion in India and the newspapers around the world were stirred up. Scientists tried to research, but could not explain. We already know the logic of reincarnation, so this is not strange.
+ A STORY IN THE USA
In about 1956, in America there was a 33-year-old woman named Ruth Simmons because she was so confident in reincarnation that she asked Hypnotherapist Morey Bernstein to help her see her previous life. The hypnotist, after putting her to sleep, said:
- Try to recall when you were 10 years old, what did you do?
Miss Simmons, in a coma, talks back to her teenage years, the times she went to school and meticulously described the times when she played with her friends. The hypnotist said:
- Now try to remember when you were 1 year old, what did you see?
She answered with babbling sounds like a child who couldn't speak. The hypnotist put all her spirit into her eyes, looked straight into Simmons' face and said:
- Try to remember your past life?
After a moment of silence, Ms. Simmons spoke, but her voice changed, the Irish accent (in the UK), not the American one.
She said: "In her previous life she was reincarnated into the Murphy family in Cork village in Ireland in 1898. She described her burial place and gave details about this village. She added that her husband, Brian Mac Carthy, a law school professor who used to work with Belfast News, and then she spoke of the day she died, where her grandmother was, and she had to do a ghost for more than a century. She reincarnated into the Simmons family in the US in 1923.
The hypnotist collected all Simmons' words about her past life, and then wrote a book titled, "Search for Miss Murphy's Identity." This book printed 170,000 copies, and within three months sold out. The hypnotherapist later narrated the story of Miss Simmons and collected thirty thousand (30,000) plastic plates and sold them in just two days.
This story has been published internationally, particularly in France, the Paris Math newspaper reported very clearly; There are many newspapers mentioned in Vietnam, such as Tin Dien, Lien Hoa, etc.
+ A CHANGE OF CONFIRMATION CHANGE story IN VIETNAM
In Ca Mau about 30 years ago, there was a strange story that caused a stir among public opinion:
Ca Hieu, in Tan Viet village, Dam Doi (Ca Mau) has a 19-year-old girl who fell ill and died. About 100 kilometers away, Mr. Huong Thua in the village of Vinh My (Bac Lieu) also had a sick daughter, who died, but rose again. When she came back to life, this girl did not know where her parents were and where she talked, nobody understood anything. Her parents thought that because she was in pain, she was distracting. But when she was completely healthy, she cried again, one or two demanding to go to Mr. Ca Hieu's home and show the place of residence, the village was clear.
Her parents sent someone to find Ca Hao and told the story to the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Ca's husband and children, when they heard it, went to see how it was really bad.
When everyone arrived, the girl rushed over to hug Ca and Mrs. Cry to tell ... Then she told him what happened in Ca's house, not even one mistake. Ca and his wife, seeing that this girl's body was not their child, but spiritually was their child, so they both loved and recognized as a child. Later, she enjoyed two parts of the wealth, both sides of her parents.
V. RESOLUTION
1. Someone asked:  If there is reincarnation, then when one dies, one person will give birth to only one person, why in this world, when the first world was founded, there were no people, but every day mankind kept more east? So why are there so many people?
Answer:  In the previous paragraph, we said: sentient beings reincarnate in the six realms, namely Thien, Nhon, A tu la, Preta, Animal, Hell, and a being in this realm, can head pregnancy through different realms, up and down each other, when up and down, not only the new born as a person only. Animals that have moods similar to that of humans that can be reincarnated as humans, like those who are in a wolf mood, will become wolf lang.
Moreover, in the previous paragraph, we also saw, in Buddhist scriptures, it says: The world in this universe is as much as the sand of the Ganges River, but not only this earth is the center of the universe, and there is only people? Scientists also recognize each star as a world, among all those, how many worlds have the same circumstances as the tiny earth we are here! The world has so much, then humanity is not few? Why can we not believe that there is always rotation, circulation, mental exchange, karma between this world and the other? Each world is about to perish, the sentient beings in that world will migrate to another, nearby world. In the Earth Store Sutta, it is written:
Try the world of vandalism, complete the annihilation ..." (This world is corrupted, sent to another world, another world is corrupted, sent to another world ...). As in Saigon nowadays, the population is very large, due to people from the provinces. When the enemy was uneventful, the people returned to the provinces, the population of Saigon naturally decreased. So more or less is due to the population in places that come, or melt away. In today's world it is more or less the same.
2. Someone asked:  People and animals are completely different, how can people be reborn as animals and animals into humans?
Answer:  People often have the misconception that people have human souls, animals have animal souls. Human souls or animal spirits are immutable, dead or alive. Because of such imagination, one cannot recognize that: Dead, the soul of the man returned to the body of dogs and cats, for example, and the spirit of dogs and cats could enter and enter the body of people.
In fact, karma is not a soul, but an energy tinged with the nature of the actions of every being. Because of that particular nature, karma merges into one form or another, due to the law of gravitation, (corresponding chorus, co-sphere).
Instead of saying the other person becomes an animal, or on the contrary, the other animal becomes a person, rather, it should be said: "Karma is detected in the form of a human or in the form of an animal!" (Narada Maha Théra).
C. CONCLUSION
The teachings of samsara bring us many benefits:
- It breaks the wrong "ants", making people feel depressed, because they think that, even if we try to live ethically, do good things, and finally we cannot bring what is nothing, no benefit at all, once the body has dissipated.
- It breaks the "common sense" wrong, makes people believe that mankind is dead, still keep its position, whether blessed or guilty as well. Therefore, people do not need to try during the money.
- With the teaching of reincarnation, we are excited to believe that: Death cannot be lost; but if we do not know how to cultivate the good, not try to live an ethical life, then in the next life, we will be born in a dark, evil realm.
The teachings of reincarnation make us more confident, we feel that we are the masters of our life, what karma we create, then we will receive that karma, but no one can take the reward, bless, himself.
Now that we understand the meaning and value of the teachings of reincarnation, we should try to improve our thoughts, words, and behaviors, in order to avoid the afterlife from falling into the realm of suffering. Once the evil causes have been washed away, the wholesome fruits and the karmic karma are no longer available, at which time we can escape from samsara and attain the beautiful, immortal realm of the Arahantship, Bodhisattva or Buddha.  END=NAM MO SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA.( 3 TIMES ).WORLD VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST ORDER=GOLDEN AMITABHA MONASTERY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.AUSTRALIA,SYDNEY.4/1/2020.
