A. INTRODUCTION:
Shakyamuni Buddha is a shining example
In any religion, the prelate is always a good example for believers to look forward to moving forward. But among the cardinals of the existing religions in this world, there is no one full of great meaning, a life as profound as Shakyamuni Buddha. His every action, every gesture, every word, every silence is valuable lessons for us. If we study His teachings without understanding His life, then our learning will be superficial and flawed. His life are the manifestations of his teachings. He speaks and He immediately practices what He has said. His life is an evident proof for people to realize that his teachings can be carried out, not just words, utopia, utopia, castles built on clouds, on smoke.
So when we study His life, we should not have the concept of learning to satisfy our curiosity, but we need to understand the profound meaning of that life to apply it to life. our lives.
To do so is to escape the great will of the Buddha when he was born in this world of Ta-she and has endured many sufferings and hardships in life as each of us.
B. BACKGROUND
I. DEFINITIONS TWO CHRISTMAS
Often in the Buddhist term, when it comes to the presence of Shakyamuni Buddha in this life, people often use the word birth (meaning a happy birth, rejoice, brighten the world. ); or visions (meaning visible in the flesh and flesh, visible to our naked eyes); or Christmas (that is, from a high place to a low place to be born).
These three words all have 3 different meanings: The birth word used to praise a noble being born; the word meaning Buddha always always exists, but because the human eye cannot see it, it must be clear to see; the word christmas means the Buddha in a higher, better realm that descends to this mortal realm. Those three words, though different, can all be used to refer to the birth of Buddha. In contrast, when a mortal was born, it was called "reincarnated". Reincarnation means that either karma or good or evil is forced to reincarnate in order to bear the retribution of good or evil. As for Christmas or appearance, it does not imply the meaning that is driven by karma, but because of compassion, wanting to benefit all sentient beings, we voluntarily come into being for a while to save sentient beings; After finishing, the spirit of death passed away, free from fear at home to live and die.
II. THE PERFECT AND THE LONG LINE OF GERMANY-CA
Buddha was born in Central India, now Népal, a country on the slopes of the Himalayas, the highest mountain in the world. The landscape there is very beautiful; In spring, the whole country blooms as a great flower garden. The people of that country are very pure. The reigning king is Tinh-Phan, a king of the Sakyamuni lineage, a large family that has succeeded in reigning the country for many decades. Queen Ma-Da, also a long-standing king. Both the king and grandparents Pure-Sanskrit are those who have many lifetimes, with great virtue, deserving to be parents of all peoples.
One day, in Ca-Pi-la-Ve, the capital of King Tinh-Sanskrit, with a celestial celebration, the king and I celebrated together. Queen Ma-Da, after offering incense and offering ants in the palace, offers food for food and clothes for the impoverished. When she returned to the palace to sleep, she dreamed of a six-ivory white elephant coming down from nowhere, taking the tusks from her right side and entering it. She brought the dream that narrated to King Tinh-Sanskrit. The king ordered the teachers to guess dreams. The prophet predicts, "The queen will give birth to a talented and talented son." King Tinh-Sanskrit is very happy, because the throne from here will have an heir.
By the morning of the eighth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar (624 years before the West), at the garden of Lam-ni-ni, 15 kilometers from Ca-Pi-la-defense, the queen Ma-Da was admiring, seeing branches. unimaginably fresh, fragrant flowers, she reached out with her right hand, the prince just appeared right there.
On the eve of the crown prince, in Ca-Pi-la-defense, the scenery is unusually happy, the climate is cool, the plants are full of fruits; rivers, canals, ditches, wells are all full; in the sky the birds and the halo illuminate the ten directions.
King Tinh-Sanskrit overjoyed to invite the prophets to see the crown prince. Among them, there is a Taoist named Asean from the Himalayas, predicting that: The Crown Prince, having 32 good generals, will become a saint. But King Tinh-Sạn only wanted his son to be a king to continue the lineage. Therefore, the Pure-Sanskrit king wants to change the fate of his son, so he named the prince Siddartha (Siddartha) in Sanskrit, meaning: "He will hold the position that he must hold". The position that the Pure-Sanskrit king refers to is the throne. He did not expect that his son's true position was that of a Buddha.
Queen Ma-Da after being crowned prince for seven days, was so happy to find that she had fulfilled her noble duty, and had washed away karma, so she dumped her mortal body and gave birth to the heaven of Dao Loi. King Tinh-Sanskrit gave the crown prince to his sister, Ma-ha Ba-Xa-ba-De to raise.
III. THE ABILITY AND ABILITY OF THE PRINCE
The crown prince gets bigger every year, the more he looks, the more talent he reveals. He has a better health than humans, an outstanding intelligence. From a literary career to a martial arts career, the prince learned with him that in a few days, the professor had to ask for the report, because he no longer had the strength to teach anymore. Until the famous first teacher at that time, San-topic-she also subdued Him.
But, despite being more talented than people, outstanding intelligence was in a position of superior nobility, the prince never looked arrogant and despised. He has a very peaceful, carefree, equal attitude. His compassion and love were second to none, and whenever he had the opportunity to help, he would not be without much difficulty. Therefore, he was respected and respected by his father, under his subjects.
IV. THE BOUNCES OF TINH-PHAN VUONG TO PREVENT THE BUDDHISM OF THAI TU
The more he loves and cherishes the child, the more pure is the fear of his son that he will not stay with him, but will become a monk to find a religion to become a saint, as predicted by the ascetic A-Tư-da. Especially when he realized that the bigger the prince, the more he seemed to think far away, and the prince's face was not as happy as his childhood, the more King Tinh-Phan was afraid that the old prophecy would fulfill. . Therefore, the king and the court secretly arranged all plans to bind the prince to the throne. He commanded to build three magnificent castles so that the prince could change his place to live in a suitable weather all year round, and choose hundreds of beautiful and beautiful concubines with good singing and dancing skills to entertain the prince. . But that was not enough, he even married the prince with a princess, the son of Thien Giac, Da-du Da-la, a beautiful and extremely virtuous princess.
The prince was forced to marry and had one child, La-la-la.
But, despite living a life so full: no title of honor, any palace palace, any singing and dancing, a beautiful wife and children, the prince still feels his heart full of anxiety and wonder. expensive. He gave the scene of the life He lived here not as true happiness, but as a scene of deceit, delusion, only making life more painful. He felt the need to find a way out, to live a more honest, meaningful and more beautiful life.
V. RECOGNITION FOUR CHARACTERISTICS IN LIFE.
One day, on the occasion of the summer holidays, the Prince followed his father to the field to watch the people cultivate. Spring scenery, just looking over, it is beautiful, does lush flowers, birds like to race; The sky is clear, the spring breeze is blowing. The scene seems peaceful and peaceful. But the crown prince's soul is not a superficial, superficial judgment. On the contrary, He looked deep into the landscape and pain realized that life is not as beautiful and peaceful as when he first looked over. He saw farmers and cattle working hard in the scorching sun, in exchange for bowls of rice and grass. The birds scrambled to devour the struggling insects in the newly plowed beds. At the same time, in the bushes the hunter was aiming at those birds, and in the nearby forest, tigers were stalking the hunter. What a brutal scene, no second stopped! Just because the piece of food to live, people and materials used all means to kill each other does not know hideous. He clearly realized that life is suffering.
On another day, he asked the Father's permission to go outside the four gates to contact the people. Arriving at the East gate, he met an old man with gray hair, fallen teeth, blind eyes, deaf ears, cuffs, and sticks sticking slowly as if he was about to fall.
On another day, he asked the Father's permission to go outside the four gates to contact the people. Arriving at the East gate, he met an old man with gray hair, fallen teeth, blind eyes, deaf ears, cuffs, and sticks sticking slowly as if he was about to fall.
Arriving at the South gate, the prince saw a sick man lying on the grass, crying and groaning, in great pain.
Arriving at the West gate, he saw a dead corpse lying in the middle of the road, flies latching on, and rising, looking very disgusting.
The three scenes of old age, pain, and death, added to the similar impression in the life that the prince saw when he went to see the plowing ceremony, made him very sad and merciful for sentient beings.
Another day, he went to the North gate, met a monk, dignified, composed, and calm like a person who was unconsciously crossing the street. The Prince saw a deep affection for the monk in his heart. He rushed to greet and inquire about the benefits of spiritual practice. The monk replied, "I am a monk and I want to get rid of all the ties of the world, to pray for myself from misery and to be enlightened so that all sentient beings will be liberated like me."
The answer was won by the ambition that the prince was cherishing so long, so he was overjoyed. He immediately returned to the king and asked for his renunciation. The Pure-Sanskrit King did not accept. The Crown Prince asked the father 4 things if the king could solve them, then he postponed going to the priesthood to return to take care of the people and treat the country. These four things are:
1. How to keep kids forever and not old
2. How to make children strong and painless
3. How to keep me alive and not dead
4. How to make people miserable?
These four things confused the father, unable to solve anything.
BECAUSE. EXCITING TRAINING
Pure-Sanskrit King, when knowing the intention of renunciation of the prince, even more afraid, again find ways to prevent, bind Him in "also happy". But once the prince decided, there was no power to hinder his intentions.
One late night, on the occasion of the guards and the concubine, sleeping after a great feast, the prince rose up, watched his wife and children say goodbye one last time, then awakened the horse-keeping name Xa-an up and win outline, then two teachers and students together escaped from the city. At that time on the night of the 8th of February, and he was 19 years old.
After abandoning the regal life, the Crown Prince went into the deep forest to search for religion.
At first He came to stay with the ascetics. These people live in misery, fasting and drinking, sunbeams, dew beams, and horribly destructive bodies. Seeing how such austerity did not work, He advised them to abandon that method of practice, but they did not listen. He took pity on them, and sought another place to practice spiritually. He went from place to place, where listening to a religious monk, he sought to learn; but wherever he saw their religion was still narrow, short, unable to free people from suffering. From there, he sought a place to practice alone, poring over night to liberation, forgetting to eat and sleep every day. One day he was exhausted, lying on the grass, and was brought back to milk by a shepherd. From there, he realized that if he wanted to find religion, it worked,
When he found himself fully energized to fight the last battle with the darkness of delusion and lust, and brought enlightenment light, he came to sit in samadhi under the bodhi tree and swore, "If I don't If you become a devout and become a devout flesh, I will not stand up from this place. "
VII. DAO THANH
Shakyamuni sat in samadhi 49 days and nights under the Bodhi tree In those 49 days, he fought with afflicting enemies inside, such as greed, hatred, ignorance, suspicion, and conceit ... and fought against the Angel-ma enemy, led by Ma-king Ba-week.
After winning both internal and external enemies, the mind was cleared, and he suddenly became enlightened.
In the 49th night, on the second watch, he witnessed the "Túc Mẫn Minh", clearly seeing all of his past life in the three realms. By midnight, he witnessed the "Heavenly Eye", seeing all the nature of the universe and its constituent causes. Coming to the private cultivation, he witnessed the fruit of "Gonorrhea", knowing the origin of suffering and the method of eliminating suffering in order to be liberated from samsara.
From that day on, he was Supreme Master Ching Hai, who became the "Samyaksambuddha", known as Shakyamuni Buddha. His enlightenment day according to the lunar calendar is the 8th day of the 8th month, at the time of sunrise. He was 30 years old at the time.
BECAUSE. THE MEANINGFUL MEANING OF THE BUDDHISM OF THE BUDDHISM
The soldiers who defeated the enemy outside the battlefield, were often hailed as heroes. The more you win the more enemies are hailed as heroes. But who did such heroes, such as Na Jin Luan, Genghis Khan, Caesar (César), have anyone overcome their own desires? So it is harder to win against someone who is harder to win. The Buddha won both the external and the interior, and won the Demon Lord of Lust. The Buddha is worthy of the title Dai Hung and Dai Luc.
He did not fight for his own benefit. He fights for love. But love here is not only in the narrow scope of the family: loving parents, wives, children, friends. The love here is love for all beings, all life. It was as deep and deep as the sky, and it was as passionate as the love of a child. The Buddha truly deserves the title of Venerable Dzogpa Chenpo.
Because of that love, He rejoiced to abandon the throne of the golden palace, the beautiful wife, the good and beautiful son, the beautiful instrument, or the beautiful and delicious dance to live a miserable, meager, deprived life, amidst the sacred forest. toxic water. And once he left what the people consider precious, he never regrets a moment, wants to return to enjoy it again. The proof is that Maou sent his daughter to pretend to be Da-Du to call for him to come back to the palace, but He did not bother to rot. He deserves the title of Dai Hy and Dai Xai.
So nowadays, whenever we praise His name, we cannot help but to contemplate the profound and right meaning that people in the past have called Him Dai Hung, Dai Luc, Dai Tu, Dai Bi, Dai Hy and Dai Xa.
C. CONCLUSION
We should develop a broad and strong mind.
We have known about the life of the Buddha from birth to enlightenment. The lessons of his life teach us many meanings, many valuable aspects.
But the most precious thing for us fundamentalists is to develop a broad bodhichitta mind, to vow for life, for compatriots and fellow practitioners, not just for our own personal benefit. .
We again have to develop strong, positive minds in the practice; Once you have entered the path, even though facing difficulties and obstacles, it is also determined not to back down. We have to practice the virtue of perseverance like Buddha when meditating under the Bodhi tree.
To be such a worthy new "true Buddhist".
