Politics, diplomacy, economy,  society ,  culture ... still do not  neglect their  duties to the old mother.

Lowland rice for  parents  is easy, but the servant with hearts  reverence  sincere  and  grateful  you are really rare. Many young  age  was watching  gesture  of respect  for  parents  as an  exhortation ,  backward , not  consistent  with the climax progress  of the  civilization  of modern . They are afraid of friends  laughing  when they have to kneel,   bow their hands or bow to their  parents . Even  we  heard them call  their parents is "fastidious old man" or "betel old woman".

Also very people being fed up  parts list , they do not dare to look at  the parents  just because  the parents  of his  came from  caste  poor, workers', rustic or is disabled. In such a  society  ,   U Thant's respectful  gesture  must  of course stand out  as a  shining example  for  everyone .

Mr. U Thant was born in Burma, a country that used  Buddhism  as a  state religion , and was  imbued with  Buddha'steachings,   so he  proved to be an  exemplary pure Buddhist .  

Although the  holding  role in  the most important international politics and  human  respect , glass made as a  leader the world , but back home he is still a child  of filial ; still taking  care of and taking  care of their parents  according  to the Buddha's teaching . Surely he has not forgotten  the reason  he has a  position  of high importance today because of  the merits  birth  upbringing , thanks to  love  boundless and plate  sacrifice  greatness of the mother, so he  is ready aside from the great and  heavy work  of a great politician in  the world  to have  time to  fulfill the duty of a  pious Buddhist  , a filialson  in  the family . His mother must be  proud  and  happy  not because they saw their child as a  leader the world  or a politician  prominent  but because she has a son  pious  and  dutiful . 

This is a lesson in  particular  for all  Buddhists  us . A mirror  filial  not  super pants  promoted them but enough to make a model for  everyone  to follow, to always remember that, in any  case  , whether  fame  topping,  status  esteem  or  prestige so great it must be humble and respectful for the  birth .

In  Mangalasutta  ( Hanh Phuc  Kinh),  the Buddha  taught:  "Hieu agrees that the  birth  is a noble blessing."

4.  Use ,  care  and development of parents ' estate  .

5.  Reflect merit  for  parents  when the person has died.

A child may be unfaithful if going against the five major duties   mentioned above, ie:

1. Do not  foster  parents  and do not guide  parents  according to  the right path  when  parents  have  wrong views .

2. Do not support  hard work  for  parents .

3. Do unclean  family .

4. Makes up the parents' production failure  .

5. There's membrane to gluttonous  parents  when the person was  deceased .

We  can  compare  this with the five misdemeanors that  Meng Tzu  taught:

1. Lazy does not work to feed  parents .

2. Passionate about gambling, alcohol, not thinking about  parents .

3.  Ham's money  , worrying about  his wife and children , not  caring  about  his parents .

4. Giddy for  parents to  humiliate.

5. Ham  strength , like  fighting  to disturb  parents .

The son who does not commit the five sins of filial piety is considered  suicidal . Comparing  the above two teachings of  the Buddha  and of  Mencius ,  we  see that they both pay  attention  to how to support  their parents  with  material things . But the highlight is that  the Buddha mentioned  a   more subtle aspect : guiding  parents  according to  the right path . As in the case   of  unethical parents ,  interest in  chess, alcohol,  greed , theft  or  cruelty  ... but the fortunate son who   has the opportunity to come to the temple to listen to the dharma hearing should know how to live  morally ,  understand  morality , in  this case  the son must  find a  wise way to guide  his parents  Return to the  road right away.

Many  Buddhists  led  parents  by building the temple, taking  the net loss  for the  parent  of reciting. They also invited monks  to  preach and  give teachings  to  their parents  . Or they  practice the  Buddha's teachings  like  giving , maintaining the precepts ,  meditating ... for  their parents  to follow. All of these  gestures  are  praised  in  Buddhism .
